Someone with half-blood from two species must be united. All evil will be defeated by a person who is half-blood from two species.
The voice is deep and chills my bones, especially when it calls my name... “Nikky.”
A god must be a half-blood of two species. That person is far too powerful, far too strong—deserving of rule.
'Who in the world was that? 'From where is this voice coming?' My thoughts were jumbled, and I was unsure of what I had just heard.
That someone is undoubtedly more powerful than the creators...
I opened my eyes after hearing a strange voice in my dream say, "Nikky," to find my brother Leonard in the left front seat of the car.
"Is everything all right?" he wondered. I called several times, but you didn't answer," I could tell he was concerned as I looked into his eyes. Because I can usually respond immediately when my name is called.
"Was this another nightmare?" He continued his question without waiting for my response.
Another nightmare... I had to think about it for a while before I realized what he meant.
My terror; the nightmares that persisted in my mind, nightmares brought on by my previous family.
My family's nightmares that I couldn't get out of my head.
"I am fine," I finally said, but my voice was shaking.
I peered through the window to see if we were already close to our destination. When I saw the familiar yet strange vegetation, I knew we had entered their territory.
"Commander, we have arrived in the pack's forest." The guard agreed with my assumption.
Elder Ruby's car was visible in the distance. Yes, they are paving the way. In addition, another car was following this one. I leaned back in my seat and covered my brow.
"Are you sure everything is okay, Nikky?" Leonard restated his point. I caught his worried expression in the rearview mirror.
"Yeah, no need to worry about me," I assured him.
I turned my head to look out the car window to see how fast we were moving through the forest. 'Serenity,' I mentally yelled. It's also known as mind-linking.
'The voice from my dream...', Serenity responded immediately. Did you figure out who that voice belonged to? Did you recognize it? 'Did you hear everything he said?'
I asked those questions without pausing. 'Nikky, I'm starting to worry. Why are you so affected? Are you sure you're okay? And what voice are you talking about?' Serenity inquired, worried.
That has to be incorrect. Serenity didn't hear the voice. How could that be? She is my wolf, so she should be aware of what is going on.
“Nevermind. I'm fine. "You don't need to be concerned," I just said before putting her out of my mind.
To be honest, I can't get that voice out of my head, especially now that I've realized my beast didn't hear it. Something must be wrong if Serenity did not hear the voice.
But now I'm feeling it even more. I sensed trouble as I prepared to confirm by calling Serenity again.
Rouges.
I'll never forget how it felt to be in their company. Their presence is strong, and I know there are about twenty of them in the forest near the pack's boundary.
I called out, "Leonard!"
"Where have they gone? We must never lose sight of our objectives." He must have sensed them because he was asking.
"I'm sure they're in the woods near the border." I quickly responded.
The guard came to a halt in front of the car. Then I immediately got out of it. As I watched them one by one, I could see the rogues in their wolves. They vanished one by one.
"Are you all right?" Leonard enquired.
I yelled to him as I ran toward the rogues, "I got this! I'll see you at the packhouse, vice-commander."
"OK, commander, please take care!" He said as soon as I took off.
As the wind caressed my face, I closed my eyes and smiled. My entire body was tingling with excitement. This is happiness. I haven't touched their blood in a long time. I smirked, thinking, 'I hope my prey doesn't let me down.' Then I quickened my pace.
There were no guards as I entered the forest's bordering entrance, confirming my suspicion about the Nightcrawler Pack—that it must have been really bad to be here these days. I kept moving while listening to the rogues' heartbeats. I know they're just lurking nearby, ready to strike at any moment.
"Don't you realize your heartbeats are too loud? Come out, my dear rogues! Face me!" I muttered, aware that they could hear me. But all I got was silence in response.
I crept up behind one of them, dug my palm into his back, and tore out his heart before he could react.
"Why would some of you even dare to shift to their host form?" I muttered. Pathetic.” The body with the hole in its back fell to the ground.
Everyone heard the loud thud it made.
After witnessing one of their own perish, the rogues began to emerge one by one. “What? Did you finally realize that silence isn't the best response?" I threw the heart to the ground and grinned menacingly.
I moved forward and stepped on the heart with my black boots. The rogues looked on in horror as I did it, and I was so pleased with their reactions. I didn't care if blood splattered all over my jeans or my shoe.
"This is so much better," I said, still staring at the broken heart.
I needed their blood to live and to be satisfied. They groaned when I suddenly moved. I could hear their audible gasps. I laughed and took a fighting stance. These demons must be terrified at this point. I had no idea they had senses for fear, terror, and doom.
"Come give me some excitement," I bravely challenged them. The rogues attack me one by one. They appeared to be aggressive.
Their eyes were yearning for death—my death. 'Crave for it, and I'll give it to each of you!' I smiled to myself.
After many hours, I stood looking up at the sky, surrounded by dead rogues with unsavory expressions. Their blood was dripping all over this dead silent forest. I thought I was the only one alive here. My clothes and clawed hands were drenched in blood. Then I closed my eyes in pleasure.
"Never thought it'd be this much fun," I exhaled. The wind caressed my skin and made my hair sway.
My joy was cut short by a whimper, and I turned to face the man who was about to pass out. I kept this one rogue alive so that I could get answers to all my questions. Then I started asking questions.
"What are your plans for this pack? Tell me!" I interrogated the rogue. But all I got was a loud groan in response. I'm sure he's having trouble thinking straight right now. And I'm sure he won't mind if I kill him now.
Despite the fact that I enjoy killing and fighting, I am wise enough to leave one person alive. As I approached him, he widened his eyes in fear. I saw how hard he tried to avoid me.
"Think twice before conquering more lands. You didn't want this to happen again." I said this while kneeling in front of him, holding his trembling shoulder. Pain was all over his nearly-dead body.
I sighed as I swung the nearly-dead rogue onto my shoulder and turned to face the bodies on the ground. "I guess it'll be a long time before all of them decay."
Then I walked away, leaving a blood trail in my wake.
'Are you okay?' Serenity was curious. She undoubtedly witnessed the battle I just won against the rogues.
As I stood at the edge of the Nightcrawler Pack, I could feel the border, the dividing line between the pack's beginning and end. I now enter the same land to train them as different and better werewolves, the same land where I used to flee the pain and nightmares—my old and the pack that I abandoned a long time ago.
As I returned to my thoughts, I replied to Serenity's question, "Yes, I'm fine." To be honest, I stopped caring about them for a long time. Everyone in here was just a sliver of my memory. They no longer mattered to me, and you can't hate someone you've never cared about. I sighed and moved the unconscious—almost-dead rouge on my shoulder, expecting to be surrounded by pests as a result.
I ran into Leonard and many recognizable faces after a thirty-minute walk to the packhouse, including members of my blood family, my ex-mate and his family, old friends, even enemies, and some former pack members.
It's been a long time, As I stared at them, I reflected. Yes, I didn't show up right away.
As I approached the meeting spot where the Nightcrawler Pack greeted Elder Ruby and the other pack members, I concentrated on their conversation.
"Are you the commander and trainer of the pack?" Samson asked my brother, Leonard. He was about to say something when he jerked back. He seemed to have a lot of words to say that he didn't get around to saying.
'Oh shit,' I muttered under my breath in response to Leonard's response. 'Not ever again.'
Finally, he musters the courage to speak up "Alpha, you're mistaken. I am not the pack's commander or trainer. The Sanguinex is the one to go with."
When he sensed me, Elder Ruby scowled at the alpha, "That's right, he's not the commander, Alpha." Samson appeared perplexed by what Leonard and Elder Ruby were saying.
"It was the Sanguinex, as he previously stated. And it was I who invited her." Elder Ruby elaborated further. Samson's eyes widened unexpectedly at the remark. And he wasn't the only one in the Nightcrawler Pack who had that reaction.
"Wait, you invited the Sanguinex?" Samson asked again. I'm still perplexed.
Elder Ruby stated: "That's correct, Alpha. The strongest and sole survivor." Samson and the elder both expressed their displeasure upon hearing this.
"And she is right here, just behind me," Elder Ruby added. She directed her gaze in my direction, causing the others to turn to face me.
'What a fantastic introduction from you, Elder Ruby,' I thought as I moved forward to take Leonard's place. I keep my head up and my movements smooth. Then I turn around to face everyone. I left the nearly lifeless rogue to lie on the hard ground.
"I am the Sanguinex," I stated emphatically. The Nightcrawler Pack members were terrified and surprised, but fear was the most visible expression in their eyes.
I looked at Samson and said, "I am the rumored Sanguinex, and I will train your pack. I looked like this because I had just fought a quick battle with the rogues. Sorry if I appeared disorganized. Don't worry, I killed every single one of them. With the exception of this one." When I was done speaking, I turned to Elder Ruby, who nodded in agreement.
That's right, I'm bringing in another rogue to question him further.
"Nikky…"
Samson gave me a familiar expression as I turned in response to the sound of my name. The crowd erupted in gasps as soon as my name was mentioned.
"That's correct, Alpha. I'm Nikky, and I'm the Sanguinex. I'm glad you're already aware." I stated unequivocally.
My tearful ex-mother quickly approached me after I finished speaking, holding out her arms and saying, "Nikky… I can't believe it's you..." My ex-father also pursued me.
I yelled, "Leonard!" My brother intervened immediately to prevent the woman from touching me. He knows exactly what he should have done.
She screamed, "Move out of my way and don't touch me! This young lady is my long-lost daughter! We've been looking for you for a long time, Nikky!" Her eyes were filled with tears this time.
"Your daughter," I muttered, giving her a blank stare. This woman has got to be kidding me. Where did she get the courage to refer to me as her daughter? Where are they when they never treat me like one? That's hilarious, daughter. When the abuse began years ago, that word was on my wish list. But I don't need to hear it from her or anyone else right now.
"I hope you're not mistaking me for someone else," I inquired.
"Nikky, of course not! You are my child, and I am your mother! Oh, if you only knew how much I missed you!" She said this as if she was forcing me to believe her words. This is becoming so irritating that I wanted to slap her across the face.
"Sanguinex or Ms. Knight are better names for me—not as your daughter, but as a pack trainer, a commande. Please refrain from bothering me. I already have a mother at the Mountain Black Pack who isn't you "I stated calmly.
I looked at Samson and said, "Is this how your pack members greet visitors, Alpha? It appears to be strange." The tone of my voice was sarcastic. "Even so, I doubt you'd want your pack to face my wrath," I remarked.
I then turned to Elder. Ruby was agitated and completely ignored Samson's presence. The elder appeared to be irritated. "Why did you come if you weren't going to be patient?" I paused.
"He might die if you don't hurry," I said, pointing to the unconscious rogue.
Elder Ruby frowned "I assumed you'd conduct the interrogation here. Why not start right away?"
"I'm sure you don't want him to die right after his confession, Elder Ruby. It's best to cure him so he can respond more effectively." With my brow furrowed, I stated.
"When you find something, anything, please let me know," she just nodded, getting my point. That was something I agreed on. "And please allow me to remind you once more. Nikky, look me in the eyes. Please do not murder anyone. I truly meant it. Just don't murder "Elder Ruby gave a solemn expression.
"Elder Ruby, I despise promises. I cannot make that promise to you." With a chilly smile and my lips pulled up, I said.
"Nikky, keep Lionel in mind," Leonard advised, motioning toward the car. Other warriors who boarded the cars followed him.
Turning to face my blood-related father, I said, "I know, please greet my father on my behalf. Lionel is my sole father." The audience let out gasps and murmurs when they heard what I said. The pack's werewolves looked at my biological father with regret and sympathy.
"You didn't do anything better, fools," I scoffed silently.
My biological family members tormented me, and instead of defending me, they made matters worse. Look at them now, pitifully watching my real father while showing him compassion. He hadn't earned it. The abrupt change in their demeanor made me chuckle on the inside. In fact, karma is a jerk who will follow you wherever you go, no matter how hard you try to hide.
I ignored their emotions and tapped Leonard's shoulders in front of me before asking him, 'Are you okay?' via mind-link.
I'm not sure why Leonard dislikes the bloodthirsty me. Sometimes I think it's because of his childhood or something related to it. However, he refuses to tell me, and I am afraid to ask.
Later on, he responded, also via mind-link, 'I am fine.' He then returned to stand next to me.
I nod slightly as I scan Leonard's face, then turn to face the Nightcrawler Pack members, staring directly into another man's obvious glare. Should I call him my ex-mate or my friend? Samson, you're a jerk.
'Leonard, you lead from here,' I said across our mind-link, not wanting to say anything else. I didn't want any more bothers. Furthermore, having dried blood on your clothes is not a good look for anyone.
Leonard bowed and looked Samson in the eyes before saying, "Please make room for my commander and me, Alpha Samson. We needed to rest. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated." Samson nodded before turning to face me, possibly hoping I'd start talking.
It made me pause for a few seconds before I began laughing at him in my head. His ignorance generates a lot of laughter. He quickly shifted his gaze, giving the impression of being perplexed, confused... Serenity's presence temporarily disrupted the Alpha's aura.
A half god will, of course, kill an alpha who challenges him. It would be foolish to try to coerce me into speaking with him, but Samson, unlike the first alpha, knew when to stop, and nearly died as a result.
Alpha Pio is a moron.
He was constantly looking for ways to exert control over me when I went to his pack for a rogue issue. I almost killed him when I couldn't take it any longer. He did not, however, die, and the elders forgave me despite their displeasure.
"Samson Alpha..."
Despite the fact that everyone was staring at me, my focus was on him. "I'm sure you don't want to end up like Pio," I said, glaring at him. The other pack members all turned to look at Samson when they realized what I was saying.
Almost every werewolf in the pack knew what had happened to Alpha Pio. His near-death experience became so well-known in society because it almost happened in my hands, the hands of the venerable Sanguinex.
Samson seemed taken aback by what I said.
'This stupid Alpha didn't seem to expect to be called out by me.' I pondered. I also told him not to challenge me. He wouldn't be doing me any favors by pushing me to my limits.
As I was about to leave my job, my blood mother tried her luck once more "Please, Nikky... Please contact me. Believe me when I say I'm your mother."
"Please don't make me repeat myself, ma'am. You and the other pack members would not be pleased if I lost my cool "I snarled, my gaze fixed on her. She flushed quickly as she swallowed her words.
"Your mother is telling you the truth. We're all related, Nikky. We are your extended family." A deep voice could be heard during the brief pause. I came to a halt before turning to face the person I recognized.
"Family," I said, my gaze fixed on the man. "Did I hear you correctly when you said we are family?" I went on.
It was Eris, my biological brother. He's still rocking that black hair and brown eyes that looked exactly mine way before my appearance changed. I am astonished that my blood mother recognized me, given that Cindy was the favorite since—as far as I can recall—she inherited her appearance.
Speaking of the bitch, she was also here. Cindy cast a smug glance at the latter as she stood tall with a mark on her neck. She seemed to be so proud, still the old Cindy that I know. I then turned to look at Eris, thinking, everything changed except for this brat. Still so arrogant and full of herself.
"How could you refer to me as your family?" I yelled. Eris was the one among them to whom I felt the closest. But after that night, he abandoned me without regret or compassion. He feigned every act of love he gave me.
I was mistaken about the only family love I have. They ought to love me despite the fact that I couldn't shift—but they didn't. They never did. Kindness is what sets apart my adopted family from my genetic relatives. I was unable to shift since I was weak, but Lionel, a stranger, assisted and gladly helped me.
"Whipping your blood sister is hardly family love," I said with a chilly smile. Then, I turned to face my biological mother, saying, "Slapping your daughter and letting her cry all alone in a dark and cold room is not what a mother should do." After that, I looked over at my real father, "A father should not ignore his last born daughter. A father should never mistreat her child." Then, to Cindy, "Throwing a glass mirror at your sister and constantly reminding her that she's worthless is not what an elder sister should do."
I paused and looked back over Eris. "Now tell me, Eris, or should I say, beta, is that what a family's definition is to you? Is that the right way a family should treat one member?" My eyes were fixated on him. Right now, he couldn't even utter a single word.
It took a few seconds for me to go. I didn't wait for his reply or watch the group's reaction. I am clinging on by a thread while Serenity wants to kill them.
"Leonard," I paused and looked across at him. The explanation for the reverberating gasps in the audience, I'm sure it was because of my blood-red eye. Serenity badly wants to take over.
I said, "I will leave to inspect the pack before I kill someone," and I walked away.
