Chapter 4

I didn't know what happened after that, but I heard Tiara had a huge fight with my mom.

That was when my mom thought of me again and called to complain.

She said it wasn't her fault.

The doctor said it was the formula that caused Damian's illness.

But Tiara refused to believe it.

She kept feeding Damian the formula anyway, and later, Damian's fever broke and he seemed fine, growing taller and stronger.

Then Tiara credited the formula for it.

I once glanced at a photo of Damian. He was twice the size of other babies his age.

He looked a bit too healthy.

But Tiara didn't think so. She kept posting his photos on her social media.

She even captioned: [My son is going to be a big success with this strong body.]

Watching Damian's unusual growth, I thought about the recent news of an inferior formula circulating and could only sigh silently.

Chapter 5

When I got the news that my cousin was getting married, I went back to my hometown.

Sure enough, as soon as I got home, my ears were filled with nagging.

My mom was still grumbling non-stop, basically saying that even my cousin was married now, but no one wanted me.

I ate some snacks, pretending I didn't hear anything.

My gaze shifted to Damian, who was lying on the floor nearby.

He was five now, but he was as sturdy as a little bull, chubby and round. The most striking thing about him was his big head, which looked about as big as an adult's.

He looked completely different from Damian in my previous life.

I dug out a few candies from the snacks and tried to hand them to him. He stared blankly for a few seconds before realizing and then took them.

According to my mom, he was usually sullen and didn't speak to anyone.

At that moment, the door opened.

A woman wearing glamorous clothes and sunglasses swaggered in.

When she took off her sunglasses, I realized it was Tiara.

I also noticed she was carrying a designer bag. Although I didn't buy luxury bags, I knew enough to recognize that if hers were genuine, it would cost tens of thousands of dollars.

Tiara noticed my reaction and seemed pleased, immediately grabbing my hand.

"Leticia, look at my bag. What do you think? Ansley gave it to me. She said it costs this much."

She said, holding up four fingers.

"Ansley said that as long as I join her, I can buy ten of these bags a month.

"Do you have any extra money? If you give it to me, you'll definitely make a profit."

Chapter 6

Tiara shifted the conversation back to me. I put down the snacks silently.

Just then, Marcus came home too. When he noticed what Tiara was wearing, his face immediately turned cold, and they started arguing again.

I took the opportunity to slip back into my room.

"Who are you dressing up like that for every day?"

"I'm doing it to make money. If you could earn enough, would I need to go out and make money?"

"Make money? You haven't brought home a cent, but you've taken all the family's savings and invested it."

"Do you even know what investing is? You have to be willing to take risks if you want to catch a big fish. Just wait until the day I strike it rich!"

...

I cracked the door open quietly and peeked at the two of them having an intense argument in the living room.

My mom seemed used to it. She didn't even try to break them up, just took Damian, and went back to her room.

I heard that Tiara was now doing business with Ansley, supposedly in investments. She had invested all of the family's savings in hopes of making much more money.

A few days ago, she even tried to get her hands on my mom's pension. When my mom found out, there was a huge argument.

Now, Tiara had her sights set on the people around her.
