Chapter 4

I saw Jack and Lisa in the crowd.

They rushed up with shining eyes. "Yasmin, you bought it? That's great, I knew you wanted to give us a surprise."

Lisa said, "Yasmin, I will tell Mom and Dad right away. They will definitely forgive you."

I looked at the manager, who stepped forward and said, "Excuse me, if you have anything to say, please wait until we finish the ceremony, okay?"

They both stepped back angrily.

After the applause, I walked out of the crowd.

Jack and Lisa immediately followed and said, "Yasmin, which one did you buy? Take us to see it."

I said, "I've been kicked out by you, so of course I have to buy my own house to live in."

Jack said, "Yasmin, stop joking. It's common for a family to quarrel. Don't take it seriously."

Lisa said, "Yasmin, I just called Mom and Dad, they will be here soon, let's go to the new house and see when to move in."

I was speechless.

A taxi stopped in front of us and my parents got out.

Jack went up. "Dad, Mom, you are here. Yasmin has already paid for the house."

My mother scolded me. "Yasmin, why didn't you tell us? How could you make the decision on your own for such a big thing?"

My father snorted. "You're getting bolder and bolder."

Although they said this, they could not hide the slight pride in their expression of "I knew you wouldn't dare to confront us!"

I looked at them and didn't move.

Jack urged. "Yasmin, take us to see the new house."

I crossed my arms and didn't move. "I bought this house for myself, what's there for you to see?"

Jack still didn't believe it. "Yasmin, stop talking in anger. Why would you buy such a big house for yourself?"

Lisa said, "Yes, Yasmin. Liam and Luna have asked for a computer room. When we move in, you can come and visit."

I didn't get angry but laughed instead. No wonder, I had spoiled them too much before, which made them were able to say such shameless things.

Just then the salesperson came out and said, "Ms. Quill, here is the purchase contract. We will apply for the property certificate right away."

Jack said to the salesperson, "When will the property certificate be issued? I will bring my ID."

The salesperson glanced at him and said, "The owner is Ms. Quill and she has already completed the registration. Ms. Quill, I will send the property certificate to you when it's done."

They were all stunned. They didn't expect that I actually bought a house for myself.

After a while, my mother howled loudly. "You damn girl, your brother doesn't even have a house yet, how could you buy one for yourself? Why are you spending money like this?"

My father was relatively calm and said to the salesperson, "Miss, the property certificate hasn't issued yet. Can we change the owner to my son?"

The salesperson looked at him as if he was crazy, then she smiled at me and left.

Jack pulled me and said, "Yasmin, you can still change the name. It's not too late to change it now."

I shook him off. "If you want to buy a house, go buy it yourself."

My dad rushed over and slapped me in the face. "You, go change the name right now!"

My mother also yelled at me, "Yes, you must change it today!"

Chapter 5

The manager and the salesperson came over with a few security guards. "What are you doing? How dare you to hit our client here? Take them to the security room!"

They were frightened and didn't dare to say a word for a while.

Looking at their cowardly appearance, I sighed secretly. Alas, they only dared to bully me!

The manager said to me again, "Ms. Quill, do you want to call the police?"

As soon as they heard calling the police, they quickly ran away.

The manager took out a business card and handed it to me. "Ms. Quill, I'm sorry that we didn't protect you well enough and made you feel wronged. This is my business card. If you need anything in the future, you can come to me."

I touched my slightly red cheeks and said, "Manager, I'm sorry for you to see this."

I Looked at the business card in my hand again, Larry Turner.

I quickly thanked him. "Mr. Turner, thank you!"

I moved into my new house at night. I took a milk bath with a facial mask and listened to music. I felt very happy and relaxed.

However, I had almost spent all my savings in the past few days, so the most urgent thing was to make money.

I thought of Larry.

The next morning, I called him and he answered immediately.

I asked him to go to the Cafe at the entrance of their sales office. He said straightforwardly, "Ms. Quill, there is no need to be so troublesome. I can be there right away because I live next door to you."

I was stunned for a moment, and he laughed again. "After all, I have to enjoy a nice house myself."

Interesting.

I changed my clothes and tidied myself up a little when the doorbell rang.

He was wearing a simple suit. He was tall and fit, and had a pair of bright eyes.

He was also quite handsome.

I poured him a cup of coffee and got straight to the point without any further ado.

I wanted to organize an event with their sales department, where all homeowners could come to my beauty salon for a free treatment.

He was naturally eager to seek benefits for the distinguished owners, so we hit it off and agreed to implement it immediately.

I breathed a sigh of relief. "Mr. Turner, if your girlfriend or wife comes to our salon, I will serve her for free for half a year, no limit of times."

He said, "Why? Ms. Quill wants to introduce a girlfriend to me? I'm still single right now."

I asked in surprise, "Ah? You are such an outstanding man. How can you still be single?"

He said, "Isn't an outstanding person like you also single?"

My eyes widened. "How do you know?"

He replied, "If you had a boyfriend, you wouldn't be bullied by them yesterday. If you had a man to protect you, they wouldn't dare to be so arrogant."

A man to protect me? My heart was slightly moved.

I also wanted a man to protect me, but in my previous life, I foolishly believed what my parents said, which was that there was no true love in the world, and those men just wanted to deceive me.

I didn't know whether men would lie to me or not, but my parents and brother had been plotting against me all my life.

Seeing me keeping my head down and saying nothing, Larry felt a little embarrassed. He sat for a while and then left.

The activity started the next day. The sales department promoted it in the community, and my beauty salon was flooded with customers.

People lived in this community were wealthy. After receiving the free care and if they felt that it was good, most of them applied for memberships. I also gave them more discounts, and everyone was happy.

In just two months, my salon's sales reached last year's total.

Seeing that our beauty care had a good reputation, Larry teamed up with me again to launch another activity, where customers could get a gold membership card for free when they bought a house.

As a result, my beauty salon business was booming.

Chapter 6

In the past few months, Larry and I had been in frequent contact. My parents and Jack hadn't bothered me, and I had lived a peaceful life for a while.

Larry's gaze at me became increasingly hot, and I missed him terribly when I didn't see him for a day.

I wondered, "Is this love?"

In this new life, could I find my own happiness? However, I was already forty years old and Larry was only thirty-five years old. Would he accept me?

This weekend, I cooked a few dishes, opened a bottle of wine, and invited Larry to celebrate the success of our cooperation.

We only had one drink and a hint of ambiguity slowly filled the air. Larry quietly held my hands, and when he was about to confess his love, there was suddenly a knock on the door.

I wondered, "Is it the property management?"

I just opened the door a crack, someone pushed it open with force, then my parents and Jack rushed in.

Jack shouted excitedly, "We finally found you! Dad, Mom, look, this house is very beautiful."

My parents were each carrying several luggage bags, and they piled the bags in the living room once they entered the house.

I asked, "Dad, Mom, what are you doing?"

My father snorted coldly. "You still remember that you have parents?"

My mother sat down on the sofa and said, "Yasmin, we will live here from now on."

I knew what they were planning. It didn't matter whether the house was registered under my name or Jack's name. What mattered for them was that they could occupy it first and kick me out at any time later.

In my previous life, I bought another house for Jack as they requested, and they lived in the previous house with me. When they died, they left the house to their grandson. I had no choice but to live with my cousin and his wife. I endured them for a while until I was forced to rent a apartment.

This time, I wouldn't let them have their way.

I said coldly, "I want to live in this house alone."

My father disagreed. "We are your parents. Whether you agree or not, we will live here."

Larry walked out of the restaurant. "This house belongs to Yasmin, no one else has the right to move in by force."

My parents were surprised to see that there was another person in the room. Jack shouted, "Hey, Yasmin, we only haven't seen you for a few months, and you've hooked up with this manager?"

Larry frowned and said, "You should be more respectful when you speak. We both are unmarried, choose your words carefully."

He pulled me into his arms and said, "I'm her fiance, and we're getting married soon."

I wondered, "What is he doing?" My heart warmed up and I couldn't help but smile.

My mom screamed, "Fiance? We don't agree!"

Jack was also very surprised. "Yasmin, he must be trying to cheat you out of your money! What fiance, bah!"

My father put on the dignity of the head of the family and yelled at me, "Who agreed to this? Make him leave now. We don't agree."

I also took the risk. "We plan to get married next month."

When these words came out, they were all dumbfounded.

My mom said, "Yasmin, don't be stupid. He must be attracted by your house and money. You are already forty years old. He can't be sincere to you."

Jack also chimed in. "Yasmin, if you want to have some fun, fine. Don't treat marriage as a joke."

My dad was furious. "How could I have such a stupid daughter like you!"

Larry ignored them. "Please take your things away, otherwise I will call security."
