Chapter 2

Late at night, Vivian hurried back home.

She was very unhappy with my behavior because she was the one who could boss me around and I would always obey her.

"Issac, what's wrong with you?"

She threw her bag away angrily. She still smelled of disinfectant, and she had indeed rushed back from the hospital.

I drank Coke as I replied to her, "I'm serious. I want to get a divorce."

I looked indifferent, which made her a little angry.

Vivian's pretty face was wrinkled, and she endured for a long time before she didn't curse me with the most vicious words.

"I don't agree." She said, dodging my eyes.

I knew why she didn't want to get a divorce. After we got married, her parents were afraid that she would do something stupid again, so they put all her property under my name.

Without me, she wouldn't even have the money to pay for Chris' medical treatment.

She also thought of this, and her expression immediately eased a lot.

"Issac, don't be impulsive. I was wrong tonight. I can explain..."

"No need to explain. I will return your money to you." I interrupted her.

I knew she loved Chris deeply both in my previous life and this life.

I once loved her so much, so I would help her.

When Vivian saw that I was serious, her expression became a little distorted.

She gritted her teeth and said, "What are you doing now? Didn't you agree that I went to take care of him?"

She was right. I agreed to all of this.

In my previous life, I felt sorry for her because I knew she was forced by her parents.

So I told her that I would not sleep with her after we got married, and if she wanted to take care of Chris, I had no complaints.

But I didn't expect she would go so far.

On our wedding day, she dumped me in front of all our friends and family because the hospital told her that Chris had a mental breakdown during rehabilitation treatment and was threatening to commit suicide.

She rushed out in the dress without hesitation.

In the end, I was the only one left to help her clean up the mess.

I was drunk that night, but Vivian didn't answer my calls.

When her parents called me expressing their concerns, I had to keep it a secret for her.

I told her parents that she was tired and went to bed.

In fact, she was in the hospital crying with Chris at that time.

I stayed alone in the room all night, and she hurried back early the next morning.

"Chris' condition is serious, and I need to take care of him."

After saying that, she started to pack up.

She was eager to take care of Chris, but she didn't feel the slightest bit of guilt towards me.

I held back my sadness and gave her some money.

"I know you don't have any money, so just take this."

She was very touched and took it happily.

"You're so nice to me." After saying this, she left.

I thought, "Since you said I'm nice to you, why can't you be nice to me?"

I finally made up my mind.

As I looked at Vivian, I put those sad things behind me.

"I am not joking, nor am I intentionally trying to draw your attention."

I looked at her and said word by word, "Let's get divorced."

Chapter 3

Vivian ran away in anger.

Before leaving, she threatened me not to regret it.

I didn't respond and remained indifferent no matter what she said.

In the past few years, I had always played the role of a good husband, so she had never cared about me.

I didn't know if she would feel sad for me when she heard the news that I died on the anniversary day in my previous life.

Maybe after I died, she could be together with Chris openly.

After all, that was her lifelong wish.

In this life, I would fulfill her wish.

Within two minutes, Vivian sent me a message.

[Chris and I have broken up a long time ago. He is now alone and in great pain. I have to take care of him. Besides, you promised before, and you broke your promise.]

I turned off my phone and didn't even reply to her.

Chris was in pain, and what about me?

Over the past five years, I had watched my wife love another man and leave me behind at every important moment.

Was I not in pain?

Every time my relatives and friends asked me about my relationship with Vivian, I could only smile and make excuses for her. Was I not in pain?

I was completely disappointed.

Thinking of everything in the past, I couldn't stand it anymore, so I picked up my coat and went home.

Chapter 4

Our parents had a very good relationship, so they lived together after retirement.

When I walked into the villa, I frowned, and my face was full of hesitation.

As soon as they saw me, they came over happily.

"How was your conversation with Vivian last night? Did she agree to have a baby?"

Feeling sad, I didn't say anything.

For our wedding anniversary in my previous life, I prepared flowers, a cake, and a transfer document for all my property.

After so many years of marriage, our parents wanted us to have a child, so I agreed to give it a try.

However, in fact, I hadn't even had any physical contact with Vivian.

I should have realized long ago that this was not the only way I loved her.

If she insisted on being with Chris, I could help her secretly.

Why did I have to get married with her and make myself suffer?

I had been wrong in my previous life.

When our parents saw that I didn't say anything, the atmosphere suddenly became awkward.

"Did Vivian lose her temper again?"

Vivian's father Sam Johnson immediately guessed the truth and slammed the table.

I didn't say anything but showed them a video.

In the video, Chris was sitting in a wheelchair.

The sanatorium was the best in the city, with a long corridor of flowers. Vivian was pushing her lover in the back, smiling happily.

Even though I had seen this video a long time ago, I still couldn't help but feel sad in my heart.

At our wedding, there was also such a long flower path.

Vivian walked with her arm around my shoulder, but her face was filled with sadness.

That day was the first day Chris made an appointment for rehabilitation treatment.

After the wedding ceremony, some relatives and friends asked me why Vivian was unhappy.

I explained that it was all my fault because I argued with her last night.

But I didn't expect that she left me at the wedding and went to the sanatorium to find Chris.

That was the second video I was going to show them.

Chris' rehabilitation treatment was not smooth. He had difficulty adapting to the prosthesis and couldn't even stand up by supporting himself against the wall.

The pain in his legs had not yet subsided, and he broke out in cold sweats even under the professional guidance of a rehabilitation therapist.

Vivian, who was standing by, looked more painful than Chris.

She cried, and when Chris finished his training, she rushed over to him and hugged him tightly.

"Chris, it's all my fault..."

She cried, "If it weren't for me and my parents, you wouldn't have been like this."

Hearing Vivian's sincere voice, everyone present looked unhappy.

"This damn girl! What is she doing?"

Sam was so angry that his body was shaking, and even Mary's face turned red with anger.

My parents were both furious.

I put away my phone and finally said what I had repeated many times today.

"I want a divorce."

They looked shocked, and I continued, "But she doesn't agree. I hope you can persuade her. After all, she doesn't love me at all. It's been five years. I want to let her go, and let myself go."

When Vivian was called back urgently, she saw her parents were very angry.

She glared at me in dissatisfaction and resented me for telling them this matter.

When Sam saw Vivian like this, he became even more furious.

He suddenly threw a stack of materials at Vivian's face.

"Do you think it was me who caused the car accident that happened to Chris?

"Look carefully, his car accident had nothing to do with me!"

Vivian took out the stack of materials in disbelief. Chris' car accident was just an accident.

The driver was drunk and was taken to the police station after hitting Chris.

But Vivian didn't know that. She had always stubbornly believed that the car accident was caused by her parents.

She also thought that it had something to do with me.

Therefore, for seven years, Vivian and Chris always oppressed me.

They wanted me to sacrifice my happiness and understand how difficult it was for them.

They even treated me as a sucker.

I was not the one who caused Chris' tragedy, so why should I bear most of their pain?

"Vivian, I don't want to say anything more. Please let me go and also let yourself go. I have drafted the divorce agreement. All your property will be returned to you. If you have no problem with it, just sign it."

I took out the divorce agreement that I had prepared long ago, with a calm expression.

At this time, everyone was panicked, and only then did they realize that I was serious about the divorce.

Vivian stood up in disbelief and stared at me.
