Chapter 1

I was a poor orphan girl, yet I married the most powerful man in London. Because of a curse on his life, Peter Kingsley was doomed to bring ruin to his family within three years, unless his fate could be changed. I, however, was born under a unique astrological sign, destined to ward off misfortune.

After our marriage, I helped Peter break his bad luck and even doubled the profits of the Kingsley Family business. Yet, he believed I had schemed to marry him and drive away his true love. He accused me of deception and selfish ambition.

Even after I became pregnant, he continued his affair. Sleeping with his lover in our wedding chamber ninety-nine times.

To please her, Peter buried me alive when I was eight months pregnant.

I knelt and begged him for mercy. He looked at me with cold disdain and said,

“You faked being a lucky charm just to marry into the Kingsley Family and because of you, I lost the woman I truly loved. Now stay in this grave and protect me in death!”

And so, I was buried alive. Taking two lives with me.

When I opened my eyes again, I had returned to the very day Mr. Arthur Kingsley first asked about my birth chart.

This time, no one knew that I was the most powerful witch in the capital. This time, I would destroy the Kingsley Family.

——

After my rebirth, I once again saw Mr. Arthur arriving at my home with his men to inquire about my fate.

I refused to admit I was just a lucky charm.

“Mr. Arthur, you must be joking. I’m just a poor orphan girl. How could I possibly bring good fortune?”

But Mr. Arthur didn’t believe me. His clouded eyes studied me intently.

“They all say your birth chart is extraordinary, capable of turning disaster into blessing. If you marry my grandson, I promise you will be treated well.”

Everyone assumed I would say yes without hesitation. After all, the Kingsley’s were one of the most powerful and well-connected families in the capital. Marrying into their household was considered a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. But I knew the truth, no matter how powerful the Kingsley Family was, I didn’t care.

In my previous life, I had agreed without hesitation when Mr. Arthur made the same offer. That was because Peter once protected me from a group of thugs and I had secretly loved him ever since, so much so that I was willing to suffer for him.

But after three years of wholehearted devotion, all I received in return was betrayal and death.

This time, as Mr. Arthur begged again, I calmly replied:

“Mr. Arthur, your grandson is cursed. But even without a scapegoat, I can break that curse.”

He tried to force me into marriage using his influence. But I had no choice but to reveal my true identity as the top witch master in London.

I pointed out the flaws in the Kingsley Family’s ancestral tombs and offered to fix them myself. I even proposed moving into the Kingsley Family villa to reshape their luck.

Mr. Arthur was overjoyed. That very night, he personally welcomed me into the Kingsley estate.

Later that evening, Peter confronted me, his face twisted in anger.

“Tessa, how shameless can you be? Just to marry me, you claim to have some witch fate that wards off evil?”

“Don’t think you can deceive my grandfather with this nonsense and force me into marriage!”

“I don’t have any evil clinging to me. Even without you, I can still make the Kingsley Family thrive.”

“Don’t even dream of becoming Mrs. Kingsley!”

I slowly looked up at him and saw only hatred in his eyes.

“You misunderstand,” I replied calmly. “I didn’t come here to marry you.”

Peter sneered, furious. “Still pretending to be noble?”

He immediately called the servants to throw me out of the house with my luggage.

Just then, Mr. Arthur arrived.

“Stop!” he barked.

He glared at Peter Kingsley and roared.

Chapter 2

Peter Kingsley looked utterly aggrieved.

“Grandpa, the one I love is Yvonne! Even if it kills me, I’ll never marry her!”

Mr. Arthur frowned.

“Miss Tessa said she can help resolve the witch curse. There’s no need for marriage.”

Peter clearly didn’t believe a word. He looked at me and suddenly sneered.

“So now you’re playing hard to get? Don’t disgust me.”

“In our last life, you were nothing more than a pathetic lackey, Tessa. Completely despicable.”

“Stay away from me. Yvonne doesn’t like me touching other women.”

As soon as he finished speaking, his phone rang. He picked it up, and in an instant, his expression softened.

“Yvonne? What’s wrong? Are you not feeling well? I’ll be right there.”

As soon as he left, I quietly plucked a strand of hair that had fallen on his shoulder.

“Peter, everything that happened in the last life, you brought it on yourself. Don’t blame me for being ruthless this time.”

What I didn’t know then was that Peter had also been reborn.

But it didn’t matter. As long as I burned his hair in the Kingsley Family’s ancestral tomb, their lineage would never recover.

Although Mr. Arthur treated me as an honored guest, the servants in the villa looked down on me. One even poured scalding water toward me on purpose.

At that moment, a sharp male voice rang from the doorway.

“Miss Tessa is a guest of the Kingsley Family. Is this how you treat her?”

I looked up and met a pair of fiery, penetrating eyes.

It was him.

Charles Xavier.

Peter’s best friend. In my past life, when I was buried alive and barely breathing, it was Charles who had gone mad, digging through the grave with his bare hands to save me.

He had come to find Peter, but upon seeing he wasn’t home, he turned to leave.

Before walking out, he paused and said:

“Tessa, if you ever feel wronged here, come find me.”

Those words pierced something in my heart. I held on to them quietly.

That night, as I lay half-asleep, faint sobbing stirred me awake.

“Peter... slower…”

I sat up, instantly alert. That voice, I knew it all too well.

In my last life, after I got pregnant, Peter brought Yvonne Shelton into our home without shame and openly humiliated me. He even enacted a live erotic scene right in front of me.

And now, through the window, I saw them again Peter and Yvonne, entangled in the courtyard.

My heart chilled.

Peter came from three generations of wealth and power. He was always refined and obsessive about propriety, yet he willingly desecrated his family courtyard for lust.

Yvonne’s cheeks were flushed as she leaned coyly into him.

“Peter, what if your wife, the one who’s supposed to ward off evil spirits, sees us?”

As if expecting me, Peter turned his head. Our eyes met.

He had planned this. He wanted me to see. He wanted me to suffer.

“Yvonne,” he said solemnly, “you are the only one I’ll ever love.”

“I’d rather sneak around with you in the courtyard than ever touch her.”

“Since she dares to live under the Kingsley roof, she should be prepared to live like a widow forever.”

Yvonne giggled softly, pressing herself against his chest.

“Peter, you’re too sweet.”

Peter held her with tenderness, but his eyes were filled with nothing but contempt as they met mine.

In the past, seeing the two of them together shattered me. I collapsed emotionally, spiraling into despair.

But now, I felt nothing.

No love, no pain, only a cold detachment.

Just as I was about to close the window, a hand reached out and stopped me.

“Miss Tessa is my guest. I dare anyone to touch her!”

Chapter 3

Peter sneered.

“Unbelievable. You can even tolerate this?”

“Just to marry me, you’re willing to endure any humiliation.”

“Even if you used tricks to get pregnant again, I have ways to make both you and your child suffer miserable fates.”

As his mocking words fell, I clenched my fists tightly, my nails digging into my palms.

In my past life, when I’d begged him in tears to spare our unborn child, he’d turned away coldly. The suffocating feeling of being buried alive was something I would never forget.

Peter watched me now with interest, eagerly waiting to see me collapse in tears or rage.

But I didn’t give him the satisfaction.

Instead, I calmly picked up my phone from the table and began recording the scene unfolding in the courtyard, he and Yvonne, still tangled in their illicit embrace.

“The crown prince of London’s elite, sneaking out to meet his lover in the middle of the night and doing this in the family courtyard. If word gets out, what will happen to the Kingsley Family’s reputation?”

You like putting on a show? Let me help you take center stage.

Yvonne panicked, covering her face and burying herself in Peter’s arms.

Enraged and humiliated, Peter lunged forward to snatch the phone from my hand.

“Tessa! Don’t go too far!”

But I had already stopped recording and backed away, calm and unshaken.

“Sorry. I woke up and heard strange noises outside. I thought there was a thief.”

With that, I closed and locked the window.

The room was on the first floor, just steps from the courtyard, but Peter didn’t dare make a scene.

He carried Yvonne away, throwing one last remark at me through the window.

“Tessa, I don’t love you.”

“Even if I die in this lifetime, I will never marry you.”

Watching his retreating back, I felt nothing but indifference.

The next morning, Mr. Arthur left on a business trip. I took the chance to visit the Kingsley family’s ancestral grave and fix its energy flow.

But just as I stepped outside, Peter blocked my path. His face was stormy, his tone simmering with rage.

“Where are you going?”

I raised an eyebrow.

“Is that your concern?”

Without answering, he slammed the door shut behind me.

“Tessa, I never thought you’d stoop this low. So malicious.”

I laughed bitterly.

He had flaunted Yvonne in front of me, taunting and humiliating me. And now I was the villain?

“Last night, Yvonne’s private photos showed up on several auction sites. They were being bid on.”

“Tessa, you’re a woman too. Is this your idea of revenge? You’re disgusting.”

“But don’t think ruining Yvonne’s name will make you a Kingsley.”

I turned toward Yvonne, who was trembling behind him, hiding like a frightened rabbit.

“I wasn’t the one who leaked those photos.”

“And I have no interest in marrying you, Peter. I don't need to stoop to such tactics.”

“If you don’t believe me, you can trace the IP address. With your status, it should be easy.”

Peter faltered, his brows furrowing. My calm expression didn’t look like I was lying.

He was suddenly unsure, something didn’t feel right.

That’s when Yvonne piped up softly, tugging at his sleeve.

“Peter, let it go. You’ve already taken the photos down...”

“It’s probably my fault. I upset Tessa... I can understand if she needed to vent.”

On the surface, she seemed to be smoothing things over. But her words painted me as a petty, vindictive woman and herself as the tolerant, gentle victim.

Peter’s expression darkened further.

“You’re just relying on my grandfather’s trust in your birth chart. That’s the only reason you dare to bully Yvonne so brazenly.”

I stared straight into his eyes.

“Everything requires a proof. If you can prove that I’m the one who did it, I’ll kneel and apologize to Yvonne without a word.”
