Chapter 1

I worked at a sales job and felt pretty good about my work. Then, Vivian appeared. She was a new intern with an insatiable curiosity for others’ private affairs.

On Valentine’s Day, my husband, Henry Ambrose, bought a million dollars’ worth of bags from me to help me meet my sales target.

Just as I left work to meet him for a date, Vivian sent a snide message.

[Your Fitbit just logged an extra thousand steps. That’s literally the exact distance to the hotel next door. Nice work, Lily! You close a million-dollar deal and immediately head to the hotel with the client?]

I coldly fired back, [If you’re this desperate to stalk people, you should’ve just joined the K-9 unit.]

That very night, parcels of adult toys appeared on my doorstep. Vivian had written a nasty post that had gone viral, and things turned out like this!

[This Salesgirl Slept With My Client and Stole My Million-Dollar Commission on Valentine’s Day!]

A pair of my ripped silk stockings, which I had tossed in the trash, became her “proof” that I had seduced a client during work hours.

Vivian was painted as the victim, while I was viciously smeared as a “salesgirl who slept with clients for commissions.”

What Vivian did not know was that Henry was actually a leading researcher worth billions. I only took the sales job because I was bored and wanted to experience something new.

The moment I arrived at the store, Vivian, the new intern, followed me to the break room.

“Whoa, Lily, you bought a plane ticket? Taking another vacation?” she asked me. “It’s Valentine’s Day, and you’re buying a ticket. You’ve got a romantic getaway planned with your partner tomorrow?”

Her question caught me off guard, because it was true that I had booked a plane ticket for my husband, Henry Ambrose, this very morning.

Without thinking, I blurted out, “Yeah, I did buy one. How did you know that?”

She looked smug as she said, “Well, you linked your JouleBug account to our corporate wellness app. Your carbon tracker shows you saved half a pound today. That only happens when you skip an airplane meal.”

After saying that, she touched up her makeup and left the break room before I could even respond.

I felt a chill run down my spine. What was wrong with Vivian? Frowning, I opened the corporate wellness app and immediately blocked her account. This was not the first time that something like that happened. The more I thought about it, the more irritated I became.

Half a month ago, I bought a new car and ordered a car air freshener on Amazon. That same day, we were working the same shift. After work, she appeared in the mall parking lot to ambush me.

“Hey! I just found out you bought a new car!” she called out proudly.

“I saw that your Amazon wish list was updated with an air freshener, so I pieced it together. Since we’re heading the same way, can you give me a ride home?”

Out of consideration for our coworker relationship, I ended up driving her home that day. It added over six miles to my trip, and I was stuck on the elevated highway for nearly an hour before finally getting home.

After that incident, I made all my social media private. I even went as far as putting her on my Restricted List on Instagram.

I shook my head and texted Henry to vent.

Today was Valentine’s Day, and business was great.

I had been ringing up orders since my shift started. Many of them came from friends in my social circle or partners from Henry’s company who specifically requested me. By the time it was almost closing time, my sales had already approached a million dollars.

Vivian, on the other hand, watched customer after customer walk out of her appointments without buying anything. Her performance was dismal.

After helping another customer with a purchase worth over a hundred thousand dollars, I headed back to the break room for a quick rest. I turned around and saw Vivian clutching a newly arrived limited-edition silk scarf. The way she gripped it looked like she wanted to tear it to shreds.

She shot me a jealous look and hissed through gritted teeth, “You’re so lucky, Lily! You literally just made your monthly quota in one day.”

I just laughed it off and said nothing.

Just as it was her turn to serve a walk-in customer, Henry walked through the door.

“I’m here for Lily.”

The other colleagues in the store were used to this. It was common for clients to have a preferred sales associate. I had never shared anything personal about myself at work. No one even knew I was married, let alone that Henry was a big shot at a domestic scientific research firm.

Naturally, they did not recognize him.

Their ignorance would soon reveal to me how toxic a workplace could be.

“Lily, it’s my turn to serve a customer. You’ve already hit your sales target for today; why not let me have this client?” She grabbed my wrist tightly as she spoke with a sickly sweet tone.

I frowned and withdrew my hand. Bright red welts marked my wrist where her nails had dug in, with some nearly breaking the surface.

“Vivian, if you want to talk, just talk. Keep your hands to yourself.”

She shrugged it off with a dismissive scoff. “Oh, please. Who knew you’d be this delicate? I barely touched you. Just let me take this client, Lily.”

I stared at her coldly and replied, “No.”

Seeing that I was upset, Henry simply used his VIC card to get me straight into the VIP consultation room.

Chapter 2

“Why the long face? Did your coworker get under your skin again? This Vivian is seriously unhinged. I can’t stand her.”

I lowered my head and simply sighed. As I turned around, I accidentally brushed against a nearby display rack and ripped my stockings.

“Hey, don’t let it get to you. It’s Valentine’s Day,” Henry comforted me softly.

He bought me a new exotic-skin bag that had just arrived in the store. It was a bag worth a million dollars, yet he could buy it on a whim. Neither of us thought much of it. My walk-in closet was already overflowing with bags like this.

The moment Henry walked away with the bag, Vivian stormed up to me and jabbed her finger at my face as she yelled, “Lily! You need to give me back that million-dollar sale! That sale was rightfully mine! If you don’t give it back, I’m going to the corporate office to report you for client poaching and workplace bullying!”

I was so stunned by her audacity that I let out a laugh. “Since when was that ever your client? Get a grip. Seriously.”

Several colleagues with whom I usually got along saw I was genuinely upset and stepped in to mediate.

“Vivian, that’s enough! That client is Lily’s regular. He only asks for Lily every time he comes in. Just drop it.”

Held back by the others, Vivian’s face flushed with rage. If looks could kill, she probably would have devoured me whole.

Her usual innocent and demure act was completely gone.

“Just... just you wait!”

That was just great. I loved it when she was furious at me but completely powerless to do anything about it. After holding it in all day, I finally let it out.

“Instead of trying to steal my clients, you’d be better off learning the product catalog. Multiple customers came in today asking for items, and you didn’t even know if we had them in stock! If I were you, I’d crawl into a hole and hide to study. Oh, wait! I forgot that you were too busy stalking people to have time for professional training.”

At that point, she was shaking with rage.

I could not be bothered to look at her again. I turned and walked into the staff break room, where I changed out of my ripped stockings and tossed them into the trash.

That evening, Henry had booked a candlelight dinner at the top hotel right next to the mall, so we made our way there. However, as soon as our meal arrived, two new messages popped up on my WhatsApp.

[Your Fitbit just logged an extra thousand steps. That’s literally the exact distance to the hotel next door!]

[Nice work, Lily. You close a million-dollar deal and immediately head to the hotel with the client?]

The steak in my mouth suddenly lost all its flavor. I picked up my phone and coldly fired back.

[If you’re this desperate to stalk people, you should consider joining the K-9 unit.]

Then, I blocked her number without a second thought.

I came to work to experience something new, not to be mistreated. Since things had turned ugly, there was no need to keep someone like her in my contacts. Once we were done eating, Henry took me to see a movie before driving us home.

There, we were met with a huge “surprise.”

The entrance to our house was filled with packages containing adult toys. Multiple couriers walked back and forth, delivering more of these packages to our door!

I was so angry that I nearly had a heart attack. The scene was so overwhelming that even Henry, who was usually so level-headed, could not stay calm. He made a call straight to the property management.

“How did you screen these deliveries?!”

When the property manager arrived, he wiped the cold sweat from his brow and explained, “Mr. Ambrose, we honestly had no idea these weren’t your parcels. The delivery people just said they were Valentine’s Day presents!”

Chapter 3

I read the notes tied to the parcels.

[Enjoy, Side Chick!]

[Drop dead already, you wench!]

[What goes around comes around!]

My gut told me this was Vivian’s doing. I immediately opened my phone and found the social media account she used to generate leads through her sales job.

Sure enough, I found a post that she had uploaded three hours ago.

[This Sales Girl Slept With My Client and Stole My Million-Dollar Commission on Valentine’s Day!]

The post had gone viral and had gained nearly a hundred thousand likes in just a few hours. The content of the post was even more shocking. It not only included pictures and a timeline but also her Sherlock Holmes-style analytical commentary.

She had even posted the pair of torn stockings I had changed out of after work!

[She took my stolen client to the VIP consultation room, and when they came out, her stockings were ripped! Once he was done paying, she followed him to a hotel to get a room!]

The netizens were attacking me fiercely in the comment section.

[Unbelievable! It’s 2025, and we still have people bullying colleagues in the workplace and stealing their sales!]

[Poor OP. I hope this evil witch gets hit by a truck!]

[I can’t with this. Why hasn’t she been doxxed yet? I’m going to do the world a favor and expose this loose woman’s identity myself tonight.]

[Guys, my hacker friend just doxxed her. I found her home address!]

[Give me the address! I want to send her a gift!]

As I scrolled through the comments, a wave of fear washed over me.

Vivian had managed to fabricate the “truth” behind the ripped stockings I had thrown in the trash by simply prying, guessing, and twisting the facts. Had it not been Henry in the consultation room with me today, I would have never been able to clear my name, no matter how hard I could have tried to explain!

The entire post was an indictment, accusing me of sleeping with clients to steal sales and bullying new interns.

To further prove that she was telling the “truth,” she had even dug up my old vacation photos from other social media apps. There was a picture of my hand holding Henry’s one, taken in the first-class section of a plane.

The comments under this photo sparked a new wave of online harassment.

[This old hag literally sleeps with anyone for a trip!]

[I’m done. Sending her those “gifts” isn’t enough! I’m reporting her to her company to get her fired!]

Reading the comments, I was so furious I could barely breathe while Henry’s expression turned completely dark.

“Call the police. Don’t worry. I’m getting our lawyer on this right now.”

I never imagined Vivian’s prying nature would be strong enough to find my private account on other social media apps. Thank goodness I only used that account to share mere bits of my personal life and some travel photos. I never posted one where Henry’s face was clearly visible.

Otherwise, she would have definitely uncovered my true identity.

The lawyer immediately began gathering the chain of evidence related to the online harassment.

When I opened the company WhatsApp group chat, I saw that Vivian had actually filed a complaint using my real name in the main company group.

[A senior employee steals a million-dollar client from an intern. How is the company handling this? @everyone]

The group chat had been active just moments before, but it fell completely silent after she sent that message.

Vivian thus started causing more trouble. Relying on a photo of a pair of stockings taken from a trash can, she arrogantly made her demands in the group.

[Don’t play dead! I’ve got proof this salesgirl was seducing and sleeping with clients during her shift! @everyone]

I gripped my phone tightly, forcing myself to stay calm.

I composed a message to fire back.

[First of all, that client is a VIC who specifically requested me. There was no “stealing” involved.]
