Chapter 3

Gavin was even more unwilling to return the money, and he said that he was beat and the money was compensation for his medical expenses.

He also borrowed others' money using my name.

Every time after school, there would be a gangster with colorful hair and a scoundrel-like look waiting for me outside the school.

When they didn't get the money, they tore up my textbooks and stepping on my schoolbag.

From then on, I was the first to arrive at school and last one to leave every day.

No one dared to be friends with me because he didn't want to be blocked by vicious thugs.

After the high school entrance examination, I applied to the best high school in the city without hesitation.

I thought I could get rid of the bullying by Gavin, but I didn't expect to see Gavin again at the school gate.

He held a tall and beautiful girl in his arms and said that she was his girlfriend. He asked his girlfriend to "take special care" of me.

Fortunately, I was concentrating on my studies and wouldn't be sad because of isolation and neglect.

Gavin bullied me, but he was nice to Lucy who grew up with him.

Gavin gave Lucy all good food and played with her.

Once, touch-screen mobile phones became popular in schools. Lucy went home and begged Mom and Dad to buy one for a long time, but they refused her on the grounds that Lucy was only a junior high school student.

But after a while, I ran into Lucy. She was joyful and holding the latest mobile phone.

She begged me not to tell the parents.

Later, the fact that Lucy had a mobile phone was exposed. Gavin deliberately blocked me on the way home.

He hit my back with fist-sized pieces of gravel, and I groaned in pain.

"Yuki, it's useless to be jealous for something doesn't belong to you."

Chapter 4

In my senior year of high school, the school took the entrance qualification examination for Star University.

That was my dream school. I studied hard day and night just to be admitted to Star University.

My head teacher had a talk with me and told me to relax because I had a great chance of getting admitted based on my previous grades.

Just the day before the exam, Gavin suddenly tied me up.

I struggled desperately to free myself and begged Gavin to let me go, but he remained unmoved.

By the time I arrived at the examination room, the first exam had already started for fifteen minutes, which meant that I missed out on attending my dream university.

Later I knew that the person who was qualified for admission was Gavin's girlfriend.

My uncle and aunt brought Gavin, whose back was bleeding, to apologize. My parents generously said that even if Gavin hadn't made such a fuss, I would not have been able to get into Star University.

We were all family, so they just forgot about it.

The past events came to my mind one by one, so of course I would not donate a kidney to Gavinn.

My parents, who were not close to me, directly called me an ungrateful person.

Lucy also said that I was heartless and ungrateful, and that I would end up living a lonely life because I didn't get married.

I couldn't stand their nagging, so I just quietly moved out of the house and lived with my colleague.

When I looked out of the window at work, I saw my uncle and aunt standing downstairs of my company.

Chapter 5

That day was the day when the boss from the headquarters held a regular meeting. If my uncle and aunt made trouble in the company, I may lose my job.

I begged my colleague to help me.

She went downstairs for five minutes, and then she came back with an OK gesture.

"I said you resigned, and the old couple left soon."

Just as I was relieved, I heard the voice from the front desk, "Yuki, someone's looking for you!"

Everyone need an access card to enter the company. How could they go upstairs...

One colleague who was my competitor at work bumped my shoulder with a cup of water in her hand, and said with a meaningful smile, "I just brought it up. No need to thank me."

As soon as I stepped into the living room, my aunt knelt down and said, "Yuki, you can't be so cold and indifferent. Please save your cousin!"

Her voice was so loud that it was heard through the living room door, which had not yet been closed.

Colleagues were eagerly waiting and listening to the gossip.

There was a lot of noise in the office, which aroused the dissatisfaction of the boss.

My leader asked me into the office. He gave me three days off to deal with the thing.

I didn't have to go to work and the holidays were approaching, so I carried my suitcase and went home.

The house was empty, and no one was there.

I fell asleep on the bed. In a daze, I heard the door closing and my parents came back.

Just as I was about to open the door and go out, I heard Mom say, "Gavin's illness can't be delayed any longer. What if Max knew that Yuki is also a match?"

Dad yelled at Mom, "If we don't tell others about it, nobody will know it! Don't keep saying it. If someone hears it, it'll be over!"

My hand paused on the door handle.

I left home while my parents went out for a walk after dinner.

The door of my room was right next to the kitchen. If they had been more careful, they would have noticed that I went home today, but unfortunately they didn't.

I called Eric Lee, the son of Uncle Lee, who was my good classmate in high school. After a few words, Eric told me the truth.

Holding the report given by Eric, I returned home again.
