Surprisingly, Alex what quiet and he allowed me to do my work in peace. I glanced at him from where I was, he was on his phone texting Someone. He looks really serious and I'm very sure whoever he was texting is important.

I shrugged not to dwell too much over it. Just when I taught I can have my peace a call from Stella came through. I groaned

" Some boyfriend?" Alex asked from where he sat and I rolled my eyes at him.

" it's none of your business"

He shrugged " okay"

" Hey girly" I chirped in when I picked up.

Stella screamed into the phone. I had to move it away from my ears because of how loud she was.

" Stella! What the heck"

At the mention of her name, Alex raised his head. He looks interested in the conversation.

" I'm sorry. Just guess what?!" she screamed again.

Why was she so happy? I wondered

" What is it?"

" it's Marcus"

I furrowed my brows confused " what is it about him ?"

" well, I might have thought over it and then decided to give him a chance," she said.

I squealed " you aren't kidding right ?"

"

" I'm not. Look Ella I've thought over everything and decided to give him a shot. Moreover, I have nothing to lose" She sighed

I kept smiling " you don't know how this makes me happy"

" I am too"

I didn't want to go too deep into the matter because of Alex. He pretended as if he wasn't listening but I know him too well. His mind is on the call.

" erm look, Stella, we'll continue our discussion next time. I'm a little busy in here" I said as I glanced over at Alex.

" oh okay. We'll talk later"

The call ended. I let out a loud sigh.

" you ended the call because of me, right?"

That question came as a surprise.

Alex raised a brow waiting for a response. I rolled my eyes at him " Not everything is about you"

He snorts" because she has a new guy doesn't mean you should cut the call so that I won't hear"

Okay? How the hell did he know? My phone was on silent not on speaker.

He saw my surprised face " Don't be surprised"

" How?"

He chuckled " There are things you don't know about"

He loves saying that all the time which makes me wonder if he possesses some powers. On second thought, that isn't possible at all. We are all humans and that sort of thing is only seen in movies. Werewolves, vampires, witches, and wizards are only seen in movies. Such things do not exist in real life. I snorted at my silliness.

" You talk strange at times you know"

" Maybe it's because I'm strange " he shrugged.

I squint my eyes at him " Stop, do you have something against me? I don't understand this attitude of yours "

" Nothing at all"...

" No, it's something. Tell me, is there something between you and Stella?"

He snapped his neck to look at me so fast that I thought it will go off their socket." Stop saying rubbish Ella. Nothing is and nothing will ever happen between us" he said in disgust.

" I'll still find out in the end. You two can't keep hiding  it forever"

He scoffed " you'll find nothing "

" I've heard you"

Alex got up from the couch " it's time for me to leave. I've overstayed my welcome."

That moment I went to block the door " Are you angry?"

" of course not, why will I?"

" Don't be a sissy Alex. What have I said that is making you act this way?"

" move let me pass please. I'm not in the mood for all this "

" Know that I'm always here when you need someone to talk to but the issue is I'll always tell you the truth even if you don't like it," I said.

Alex exhaled " Just don't interfere in something that doesn't concern you. Instead, you should focus more on knowing who you are"With that being said Alex went out.

I couldn't move, what he said hits home. What does he mean by that? Does he mean that my mom is hiding something from me? This is confusing. I shook the thought off, I shouldn't think too much about it.

I went to stand beside the window and just in time, Zion and Alex walked out of the company heading towards their car.

Zion looks the same. His fierce attitude makes him look more handsome. I sighed dreamily, those arms were around me a few days ago. Zion stared around as if looking for something, already Alex was inside the car.

His eyes went straight to my window and I freeze. I couldn't move but what I was sure of is that he can't see me since the window was tinted. Then why was he staring as if he knew I was there.

I gulped loudly but didn't move. He spent seconds staring before he entered the car and zoom off.

ZION

I knew she was standing behind the window. Her scents couldn't be missed. If it wasn't for Alex who told me not to check on her in her office. The aim was to go to the company to see her.

I stared at Alex, he looks so quiet for someone like him.

" Hey, are you ok?"

" Yeah, why?"

" You seem kinda lost. Did something happen when you went to her office?"

Alex closes his eyes " Stella has a boyfriend"

Okay...now I get it.

" So?"

Alex stared at me " are you serious?"

I shrugged " yes, I am. Don't she have the right to do as she pleases? Look, Alex, that girl made it clear to you a long time ago. You should allow her and besides you once said that you have no string attached so why are you complaining? allow her man"

" you don't understand "

." There is nothing to understand. This has been an issue of months ago and I believe it's sorted so why can't you be happy that she finds someone. You are not her mate and vice versa."

He exhaled " I'm confused too"

"Don't be. Take off whatever it is in your mind and if you decide to push through then make your move "

I'm done with this loneliness, it's time I see her and I mean now. I need to go to her place and no one can stop me. I headed up to my room to change my work clothes. I took a shower first before anything.

I put on something casual and headed for the door. My beta knows what to do when I'm not around so I need not bother myself.

I've long dismissed my driver who must be with his family by now. I don't need to inform anyone about my whereabouts. I'm the Alpha.

I drove myself to her apartment. Don't be surprised I know where Ella lives, she didn't know I'd been stalking her whereabout. I swiveled into her street. It was dark already and most likely she must be sleeping but who cares.

I parked my car far from her house and got out to make my way to her apartment. I may be alpha but right now, knocking isn't my thing so I did what was possible at the moment. I entered through her window. It was wide open as if she knew I was coming, joking.

She needs to stop opening her window, she does that all the time. This isn't the first time I came here but most time I don't climb up. I'm always outside staring.

I didn't want to make any sound to wake her up. She looks peaceful sleeping. Her chest heaves with every breath she takes. Her hair was sprawled on her pillow. She snored quietly. I could watch her sleep all night.

My hand went to her hair on instinct, I pushed the hair that was covering her face. Her beautiful face came to view and I smiled in the process.

Ella sleeps like an angel, my angel, my luna. I lean forward to peck her on the forehead. If she was a wolf she'd feel the spark. She sighed in her sleep. I spent minutes staring at her beautiful face, I can't get tired of staring.

I got up ready to make my way out when I heard something. The voice was coming from the room beside Ella's. I strain my ears to hear but it was hard to grab what that person was saying. I'm sure it's Ella's mom.

I twist the doorknob and make my way to where the voice was coming from. Luckily for me the hallway was empty so I was standing beside a door. I placed my ear on the door to listen clearly.

" Let her be Luca. She doesn't know anything and will never find out" she said.

Who doesn't know anything? I wondered.

The other person on the phone said something which made her angry " My daughter belongs to no Clan. She's a human and it will remain like that forever" she yelled at the person.

They were talking about Ella. I found the conversation interesting.

" stay away from us, please. We are happy right here, please don't come and spoil everything for us. Goodbye" everywhere was quiet and then her voice speak with so much emotion.  She sobbed quietly and that was my cue to leave.

I need to get to the root of this matter. Is she hiding something from Ella? Could Alex be right about her being a Lycan? I'm confused here.

I went back through Ella's door. Just when I was about to go out the window, my leg mistakenly hits Ella's shoe rag, making a sound

" Ella is that you?" her mom asked from her room.

I quickly jumped out and made my way to my waiting car. I didn't waste time driving away.

ELLA

I smiled shinning my teeth to the mirror. I was happy today which surprises me. I guess it's because of the dream I had. I know it may sound stupid but I dreamt that Zion was here yesterday.

Okay, please don't call me stupid but that's what I dreamt about. He went as far as kissing me but not on the lips. I frowned a little. 

I need to be careful with the way I think about him this day. It's beginning to affect my thinking and personal life. I want nothing but him this day.

I clamped my lips together looking sad at myself through the mirror. I exhaled loudly then went back to sit on my bed. Today was Saturday so it's my free day. I don't need to hurry for work or whatsoever.

My phone rang beside me. I check the caller ID and wasn't surprised to see that it was Stella. I rolled my eyes but ended up picking it up.

" Hey".

" I need your help please," she said immediately.

Okay? " What is it?"

" I need an escort and you seem like the perfect option" She stated.

" I'm not getting you, Stella, what is this all about?"

" The thing is there is this place I should be today so I can't go alone " she explained but I still don't get why I should escort her.

" Stella, today is my free day and I should be indoor sleeping"

" I know but please you are my friend and we promise to always be there for each other"

Here comes the dramatic Stella. She always guilts trick me into doing whatever she wants " please don't start Stella"

I'm sure her mouth formed a pout " Please Ella"

I rolled my eyes "Fine, where are we going to?"

" Someone you don't know," she said.

" Stop the joke, tell me where"

" It's a surprise. You'll find out later" She said and giggles.

" Hope you know that you're annoying?"

" Why thank you"

I rolled my eyes but I still ended up smiling. My friend is a total goof.

" I hate you"

" I love you too"

' Whatever. So what should I put on? Is it something casual or more like a date type of dressing?" I asked to be sure.

Stella hummed " I think just put on something you'll be comfortable in. You can just put on what suit you but not a bikini"

I'm sure she's smirking when she mentioned bikini. She knows I hate bikinis with passion and putting on something like that will never cross my mind. Never.

I will kill Stella for making me dress like this. If I had known that this will be some kind of a gathering I wouldn't have put on trousers and a top. Gosh, I look like a homegirl.

Stella covered her smirk " I'm sorry please"

" Then why did you allow me to dress like this?" I questioned.

" I said you should put on something you'll be comfortable in" she shrugged

" But you should have given a hint that you all are going to be in dresses. Look around you Stella, I'm the only one in jeans for crying out loud!"

She giggled " it doesn't matter, you always look beautiful so don't you worry"

" I hate you right now "

She blew an air kiss my way " but I love you"

I glared hard at her " so tell me before I outburst more on you, whose party is this?"

She clasped her hand as if remembering that she should have done that earlier. Stella then looks at me with guilty eyes.

I cock a brow at her " What is it?"

She rubbed her neck " I should have told you before bringing you here but I knew you won't come if I had done that "

" Just tell me already and stop talking in riddles"

She sighed " This party was organizer by Zion. This is one of his mansions amongst other"

I furrowed my brows confused. Of course, i know Zion was rich but I never knew he was super-rich to own something as big as this. I stared around again and my surprised expression couldn't be missed.

" he owned all of these?"

She nodded with a smile " I'm sorry I didn't tell you about him"

I waved it off " it's nothing, I'm good. So what's this gathering about?"

" Oh yes, his parent just came back from Germany and this party is to mark their safe arrival" she explain and I find it stupid.

" so you mean just because they arrived safely they needed to organize a party?"

She nodded " Yes"

" But that's stupid" I couldn't help but say

" I know right but the thing is, this is some kind of a tradition they follow so it's nothing new to them, and don't forget that they are rich. Spending a lot of money on little things doesn't affect them" she said.

" Then they should please give me all those money. It's like they don't have anything useful to do with the money " I retorted " but what is with all the tradition? Is he from a particular native which I'm not aware of?"

She find my question a little surprising but didn't have to say it cos it's written on her face " Of course not "

" Are you sure ?"

" No. But why do you ask?"

I let out a sigh " I just find somethings strange this day"

" what is it, Ella?"

" I don't know why I feel that I'm missing some part of my life. I mean, I've been living with mom since birth but something still feels strange when I think about things"

" you are confusing me the more Ella, what do you mean?"

" I've been having this dream...

" Hell dies" we got interrupted.

Alex smiled widely upon seeing us. What is with this guy always acting strange?

" Hey Alex"

" hi Stella"

Okay, this was getting uncomfortable. So it was my cue to say something.

" it's nice seeing you again, Alex"

" Same with you. I didn't know you are coming " he said.

I scoffed " Why are you saying it as if you don't want me here?"

He activated his defensive mood immediately " of course I want you here. I'm only surprised you know "

" Well then I'm here already and treat me as the guest I am" I retorted jokingly

Alex found it funny to so he laughed " I know right"

Stella cleared her throat " Well if you two may excuse me, I need to use the restroom." That being said, she left immediately.

Alex and I shared a look. Is my friend jealous or something?

" You see what I told you about her being a big problem," he said staring at the direction she passed through.

" Just admit it, you like my friend"

He made a choking noise " God forbid. She is not my type and will never be one "

I shrugged " Don't say I didn't warn you"

" oh please. Why not we talk about how beautiful you look tonight " he said instead.

" here we go again, Alex always dodging the truth"

He chuckled " I'm not dodging anything. I find the conversation useless that is all".

" Don't say I didn't tell you when it's too late."

" Oh please, like I'll go for someone like her " he scoffed.

Alex called a waiter who brought two glasses of champagne for us. I was grateful for that.

" So tell me your type Alex," I said enjoying the conversation

He started at me " I don't have a type. When I get connected to you, then you are it for me.  That's how I work. I'm not the kind of guy that has the image of my dream girl already from birth. I just want someone who is understanding, caring, and of course someone I share connections with. It's not always about the look but she does not have to look like some Buffalo"

I chuckled " hope you meet someone like that soon"

." I hope so"

.He winked at me " So tell me, love, how do you expect your dream guy to look like  ?"

I smile remembering that day when I kept insisting that I want a tall, rich and handsome guy. The truth is I've found that kind of guy obviously but he is out of reach. Zion is who I'm talking about.

" I'm waiting" Alex sang

" I also want someone I share a connection with, " I said instead.

" We all do ,don't we?"

I find it hard to believe that Alex doesn't know what transpired between me and his friend. The way he kept smirking at me says otherwise.
