Chapter 2

After I finished speaking, Reba immediately exploded, picked up the folder on the table and smashed it on my head.

“Willian, I think you are targeting Jackie on purpose. Jackie always thinks of you and does things for your own good, but you are still so ungrateful,” she scolded, “Apologize to Jackie immediately, or we will break up. I hate narrow-minded and jealous men like you the most.”

If it were love-brained me in the past, after hearing Reba’s words, I would definitely blame myself and reflect on my mistakes frantically.

But at that moment, I just thought the pretentiousness of the two of them was disgusting.

I looked over coldly and said, “Okay, in that case, let 's break up. You can go and love your lover.”

Reba's pupils widened instantly, as if it was unbelievable in her eyes that I agreed to break up.

“Willian, are you crazy? Do you know what you are talking about? I just treat Jackie as my younger brother. Don’t think about us with your dirty mind.”

Jackie looked at me with a wronged and pitiful expression and chimed in, “Willian, Reba usually takes good care of me, but we are really just ordinary siblings. Don’t be angry with Reba and I.

“Otherwise, how about I give you an Hermès belt when we go shopping this time? Just consider it as the cost of using your ID card.”

Reba looked at me sarcastically as she asked, “Willian, you just want to take advantage of Jackie, don’t you? Otherwise, you probably won't be eligible to enter the Hermès store in your life.

“Now give your ID card to Jackie and don’t waste everyone's time.”

The colleague next to him also responded, “Although Jackie used your ID card, he gave you points and a luxury belt. Others would beg for it, so don’t be ungrateful.”

“I think you are just jealous of Jackie. Jackie is such a rich assistant. He must be the son of a wealthy family. Even if you work hard for a hundred years, you can't compare to Jackie.”

“We have been colleagues for so many years and as the Manager of the Department, you only treat us to drinks from street food once a week. You are so stingy, you deserve to be less likable than Jackie.”

They never refused when I paid for their drinks out of pocket every week, but that time they thought I was being stingy.

They were really a bunch of ungrateful people who could never be tamed and fence-sitters who would fall at the slightest breeze.

Jackie began to get impatient and said, “Willian, stop making trouble and give me your ID card. I will go to the mall after work today to apply for a membership card so as not to delay everyone's shopping spree tomorrow.”

I held the bag tightly in my arms and looked at him coldly, still rejecting him, “I have something to do tomorrow, so I won't be going out. I don’t need you to buy anything for me, so you can borrow someone else's ID card.”

Jackie's expression flashed fiercely for a moment and then his eyes immediately turned red when he accused me, “Willian, I know you don’t like me, but everyone works so hard for the company, I just want to reward everyone well.

“If you are not happy, forget it, let's just work hard tomorrow.”

Jackie's words directly convicted me, as if it was me who prevented him from treating everyone to a shopping spree.

In an instant, my colleague looked at me angrily.

Someone reached out and pushed me to the ground and someone picked up the drinks and water on the table and poured them on me.

“Willian, are you deliberately not seeing us? It's fine if you don’t want to go, but you're also causing trouble for us.”

“Willian, why are you so vicious? We finally have a day off and Jackie is willing to treat us to shopping, but you want to ruin it on purpose, right?”

Chapter 3

Someone kicked me in the stomach and I gasped in pain for a moment.

“You usually look down on others with an air of superiority and now you are just jealous and want to destroy all of us, right?”

I endured the pain and reached out to push over the vase beside me.

The sound of the vase breaking startled everyone. I took that opportunity to push them away and stood up.

“What are you crazy about? I never stopped Jackie from inviting you to a shopping spree. I just refused to let him use my ID card,” I yelled, “If you want to go, take out your own ID cards. Why use mine?”

My colleague gave me a cold look.

“What's wrong with using your ID card? Is there any need to be so petty?”

The colleague took out his ID card and handed it to Jackie.

“Jackie, Willian does not know what's good for him. Just ignore him. Use my ID card. I'm a newbie too.”

“Jackie, you can also use mine. I don’t mind. Just give me any bag when the time comes.”

Jackie looked at the person in front of him, disgust flashed in his eyes, but his face was still smiling.

I was about to get off work, I suddenly felt a severe pain in my stomach, so I went to the bathroom. When I came back, I picked up my bag and prepared to leave work.

My hand paused slightly, feeling something was wrong.

I remember that when I went to the toilet, I was in a hurry, so my bag was unzipped and I forgot to zip it up, but that time it was zipped up.

I immediately picked up the bag and checked it. I found that all my belongings were there, including my ID card in the inner pocket. I could not help but breathe a sigh of relief.

Reba passed by me and could not help but chuckle when she saw my behavior, “Willian, are you suffering from paranoia?”

I rolled my eyes at her, too lazy to pay attention to her, so I just picked up my bag and left.

When I got home at night, I always felt uneasy and had a bad feeling.

I was about to fall asleep when a phone call suddenly came.

After the call was connected, a female voice came through. It was a bank employee.

I borrowed three million six months ago and had not yet repaid the loan. It had been overdue for a month.

I opened the message history and remembered that my cousin had an accident a year ago and asked me to borrow three million.

At that time, I had a falling out with my parents because of Reba and all my funds were frozen by them, so I lent three million to my cousin.

Later, I forgot to repay the loan because I was too busy with work.

When I was about to repay the money, the staff continued, “Mr. Beltran, if you don’t repay on time, you will be blacklisted by the bank and all your loans from the five major banks will be frozen and stopped.”

Hearing this, my fingers paused and suddenly I thought of something.

“I'm sorry, I don’t have that much money to pay back right now, please just freeze all my bank cards.”

After saying that, I blocked the bank staff.

Only then did I feel completely relieved.

At that moment, even if Jackie took my ID card, he would not be able to get a loan.

The next day, I received a call from my housekeeper.

He said as soon as I received it, “Sir, today is Madam's birthday. Why don’t you come back to visit? Madam has been missing you for more than a year.”

I looked at the calendar on the wall and felt sad. That day was my mother's birthday and I had not been back for more than a year since I had a falling out with my parents.

When I thought about how I made my parents sad for more than a year because of that bitch Reba, I wanted to slap myself.

“Okay, I understand. I will go back tomorrow.”

After hanging up the phone, I planned to go to the shopping mall owned by my family to buy a birthday present for my mother.

Chapter 4

When arriving at the mall, I went straight to a luxury store and saw a new bag.

When I was about to pick it up, a pair of hands grabbed it first. I looked up and saw it was Reba and Jackie.

Reba handed the bag in her hand to Jackie and said, “Jackie, this is a new belt from Hermès. There is only one of these and it suits your temperament best.”

Jackie looked at me provocatively before sneering, “I think Willian also wants this belt, so why not give it to him?”

Reba glanced at me and sneered, “Hey, why is Mr. Beltran here? Didn’t you say you could not come?

“How about this, as long as you kneel down in front of Jackie and apologize to him, I will let you join us shopping.”

I rolled my eyes at her, too lazy to pay attention to her and prepared to go somewhere else.

Reba grabbed me and threw me to the ground.

“Willian, why are you pretending? If it were not for Jackie, I'm afraid any one of these things would cost you three months' salary. I'm willing to give you a chance, so don’t be so shameless.”

I touched my body which was hurt from being hit and slapped Reba in the face.

Reba's eyes widened instantly as she yelled in shock, “Willian, you dare to hit me.”

Jackie suddenly started crying and pleaded, “Willian, I know I was wrong. I will never invite you guys out to go shopping again.”

At that time, other colleagues were also attracted and surrounded me.

“Willian, did you do this on purpose?”

“Willian, why are you still haunting me? You have such vicious thoughts in your mind.”

“Jackie was willing to invite us out to go shopping, but you kept trying to ruin it. You can't stand seeing us doing well, right?”

Suddenly someone grabbed my hair and pushed me to the ground.

Someone picked up the perfume from the counter and sprayed it into my eyes. For a moment, my eyes felt burning and painful.

Another colleague took off the shoes he was trying on and pressed them on my face.

“Willian, if it were not for Jackie, you would never have experienced the feeling of luxury in your life. Today, you are lucky.”

The salesgirl next to her advised, “These are not samples. Once you open them, you must buy them.”

Reba sneered, “You are such an ignorant person. Just these things, Jackie can buy them all in your store with a wave of his hand.”

As she spoke, Reba deliberately threw the vase beside her at me and yelled, “Willian, why don’t you apologize to Jackie?”

I struggled to stand up and pushed Reba down, “I did nothing wrong, why should I apologize?”

Without hesitation, other colleagues picked up various objects on the counter and threw them at me.

Seeing the mess in the store, the counter clerk tried to stop them but was pushed to the ground.

“Why are you in such a hurry? It's not like you won't pay.”

The Counter Manager directly took out the card machine.

“Then you should first pay for the current losses in the store, more than 8 million, otherwise we will call the police immediately.”

Everyone stopped.

“She's such a tactless person, she deserves not to make any money. Jackie, pay her and we'll go somewhere else.”

Jackie took out a bank card and placed it on the card reader.

A few seconds later, the card machine beeped. “Insufficient balance, payment failed.”
