My parents would always belittle me, but they woud praise my older brother, Donald, for the tiniest thing he did just because he was born a son unlike me who was born as a daughter. I was able to enter the university due to a full scholarship I got on my own. Not only that I even worked part-time during my summer vacation so that I could pay my own rent, food and so many more. In fact, I never even took a penny from my brother.

Unfortunately, my parents kept refusing to believe in me. Eventually, I realized that it was pointless telling them. I ended up telling them that I was just a normal employee. After all, it became clear to me that my parents didn’t wish for me to be more successful than their son. Yet, they still dared to ask me money to cover their living expenses every month.

Despite them belittling me, I tried to be a good daughter to my parents. Besides, I was able to live decently even if I sent them money. Not only that, my brother just got married and had a ‘baby’ with my sister-in-law. So, I felt the obligation to send them money every month.

Not too long ago, the security application I developed alongside with my team became a favorite of multinational companies. In fact, our application was worthy of USD 500 million. Those companies tried to buy it from us, but I eventually decided to refuse their offer and sold them to our government instead.

Since the amount was so huge for me to handle, I decided to hire a CEO to manage my company so that I could enjoy my life more. After that, I called my mother and told her that I wanted to go home. When my mother asked me why I wanted to go home out of nowhere, I told her that I had made USD 500 million.

The moment my mother heard my answer, she just sneered mockignly. She even openly told me that she didn’t believe me at all. Knowing that she wouldn’t believe me, I told her that I was fired recently and needed to go home to rely on them until I could find another job. After that, I told them to pick me up on the train station.

However, I was shocked to find that nobody came to pick me up on the train station despite waiting for them from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. As I tried to call my parents, my brother and my sister-in-law, nobody answered. This was nothing new, sadly.

Eventually, I took a taxi to the apartment. As soon as I knocked on the door, I was stunned to see someone before me.

“Oh, Marina, you’re back?” she asked me as she sneered.

It was my sister-in-law, Violet Kessler, who opened the door for me. Seeing me here, she just forced out a fake smile at me. As for me, I just nodded without saying anything before I entered my very own home.

Violet then tried to make an excuse as she said, “My Perry is sick, so I forgot to pick you up from the station.”

Perry was her dog, which was a gray Chihuahua. Just because her dog was sick, my family ignored me who waited for them on a train station for a whole day. Unfortunately, they were my real family.

“It’s okay,” I told her quietly.

After that, I walked towards my room because I was so tired.

When I was about to reach my room, my mother got out of the kitchen and asked me mockingly, “Oh, Marina is back? Didn’t you say on the phone that you were worthy of USD 500 million dollar? So, why did you go home unemployed then?”

Hearing that, Violet joined my mother as she sneered before she said, “Well, Mom, you know that Marina likes bragging. Why do you even take it seriously?”

My father, who was sitting on the couch and drank his beer, also followed along as he sneered mockingly and said, “Huh! Worthy of USD 500 million, you said? This girl isn’t even worthy of 500 million USD even if she sold herself to those hungry men!”

Lastly, my brother mockingly said, “My friend runs a nightclub. I’ll tell him to introduce you to a hostess to get a job there. You definitely can make us a lot of money there!”

Not only that, the dog even barked at me as it looked at me fiercely.

After that, my sister-in-law made another sarcastic remark, “Oh, Perry, you’re so smart. You can even tell that Marina was only bragging about 500 million bullshit, right?”

When I wasn’t here, they would live blissfully happy in their daily lives. Yet, they immediately made me their punching bag as soon as I came here. It really broke my spirit. However, the truth remained. What I said was indeed true. I was worthy of USD 500 million.

I couldn’t help but try to defend myself as I said, “I’m not lying. The security application I developed with my time was recently bought by our government. My worth is USD 500 million now.”

My brother made another sarcastic remark after I defended myself, “Of course, your worth is now USD 500 million now, Marina! Don’t worry, we still believe you.”

The young man then sneered as he said, “Since you’re very rich, send me money ot bank account then!”

After that, the whole family was laughing. Since I had enough with them belittling me, I took out my phone and accessed my online banking application. I really wanted to show them that I wasn’t lying to tem.

“As you can see here, I really have 500 million USD,” I angrily told my family as I showed my bank account.

But my brother was still not convinced as he made another sarcastic remark, “Marina! I really have no idea that you can use Photoshop!”

My sister-in-law also looked at my bank account and commented “I must admit that Marina’s Photoshop skill is super good.”

Eventuall, I just gave up telling them. Besides, no one in this family would believe me. So, what could I do about that?

I just wanted to go back to my room. However, I was almost knocked to the ground because of how smelly my room was the moment I opened the door. No one could imagine my surprise when I saw that my room was full of dog feces and urine. Even worse, my bed even had dog feces on it!

When I turned around to look at them, I asked them as I tried to hold my anger, “What’s happening here in my very own room?”

My mother repeated my question mockingly, “What’s happening here in my very own room?”

The old woman then continued, “Perry here is just like our grandson, so what’s wrong if he lives in your room?”

“Where are my things?” I asked her coldly

“I threw away all of your junks,” my brother nonchalantly replied.

The loser then continued without feeling any ounce of regrets, “Besides, they’re not worth of something. They were just books and certificates, so what’s the point of keeping them?”

“They’re proofs that I’ve had a higher education!”I angrily yelled at them.

This apartment was a really big one as it had three bedrooms. Not only that, this apartment even had an attic. Yet, they had the audacity to say that I no longer had the room to live here? Not even my stuffs were here anymore.

“Have you gone stupid because you’re going to school? What’s the point of having proofs that you’re able to get a boring higher education? Besides, aren’t you still unemployed?” my brother mockingly questioned me.

I coldly rebuked, “Let’s not talk about whether I’m really unemployed or not. In fact, you should’ve directed that very question to yourself! How many years have you, a loser, been living off from your parents? Do you really think you’ve got the right to criticize me?”

“How dare you talk to your brother like that!” my mother yelled at me angrily.

As she pointed at me, the old woman continued to talk, “You’re the loster! Even if your brother is living off from us, we’ve had no problem to let him do that. Besides, he can continue our family line. What about you? You’re nothing but a waste. Not only that, you were even fired!So, how dare you criticize your brother!”

When my mother mentioned about carrying the family line, I pointed at Perry as I retorted, “What do you mean about continuing family line? So, giving birth to a damn dog will help continuing the family line?”

“What do you mean by that?” Violet, my sister-in-law, asked, feeling incensed with what I just said earlier.

As she put her hands on hips challengingly, she asked me, “So do you think I can’t give birth?”

“I don’t want to argue with all of you,” I told them.

“You’d better clean up my room now because I want to stay here from now on,” I continued as I waved my hands because I really couldn’t argue with these lunatics anymore.

My sister-in-law repeated my statement in a mocking tone, “Staying here from now on?”

“This is me and my husband’s place! Why would I let you stay here from now on?” she asked again.

As she snwered, Violet continued, “I was already kind enough to let your parents live here. You still wish to live here now? Why do you think you can do?”

“Well, I bought this damned apartment!” I yelled at them loudly because I had already enough with their antics.

The moment I said this to them, everyone looked at me with piercing gazes.

Out of nowhere, my mother suddenly said, “Marina, what do you want here? Are you here to settle accounts with us? Do you want to kick us out?”

After that, the old woman rubbed her belly as she continued, “Are you going to ask us to pay rent? Well, Marina, let’s do it then! I was pregnant with you for 9 months! I carried you for 9 months! Let’s do it then!”

It happened again. Every time both my mother and I fought or every time she asked me for money, she would always say the same thing again and again. In the past, I would think to endure this because she was the one who gave birth to me and I happened to have enough money. This time was different because they all thought I was unemployed, so they were thinking of kicking me out.

“Let me ask you a question then! Is there no place for me in this family?” I questioned them.

“Would you rather give my room to a fucking dog than to me?” I asked them again coldly.

My father, who had been silent for a long time, eventually spoke, “Yes. What can you do now?”

Violet, my sister-in-law, sneered as she added mercilessly, “Come on, Marina! You’re just an unemployed girl who can’t even get a man to marry you! Why do you want to compete with my dog just for a room?”

“Well, okay then. Since I also bought an apartment in Encino, I’ll live there. Give me the key,” I told them coldly.

As I stretched out my hand to my mother, I kept talking, “Since this family don’t wish to lt me stay here, can’t I just leave?”

“Don’t you dare to be this shameless, Marina!” the old woman yelled at me.

“Your sister-in-law’s younger brother is living there now! I used that apartment for him to lead his new married life with his wife. Do you really want to ruin their lives?” my mother asked me in accusing tone.

“Marina, you’re not just shameless! But you’re also evil. Do you want Violet’s little brother to really have an unhappy married life?” the old woman kept scolding me as she pointed at me.

My brother then followed along as he coldly said, “Listen. I’m the one who will continue the family line. You’re nothing but a worthless loser who has nothing. You should’ve known that what you’ll earn will be mine. Your very own existence is to serve me, your brother. Do you get it?”

I couldn’t help but take a deep breath to calmly myself as I asked with a trembling voice, “Well, where is my other apartment in Santa Monica then?”

Violet just let out a smirk as she answered, “Well, don’t you remember I have two younger brothers? Your other apartment in Santa Monica is given to my other younger brother. He’ll use that apartment to live with his wife one day.”

“What about my apartment at Woodland Hills?” I asked them gain.

This time, Violet replied, “Well, my parents live there. Since your parents have a house, so my parents should get a house to live in too. Otherwise, that’ll be unfair!”

Hearing what she just said made me look at her in disbelief as I responded to her ridiculous statement, “If you want fairness, you should’ve earned the money yourself. How can you use the apartments I bought for your family to live in there?”

“You’re not very smart despite having a higher education, huh?” Violet snarkily retorted.

Again, she sneered as she continued, “Your brother just said earlier that what you earn will be his. So, what do these 4 apartments have to do with you?”

This was pure madness!

Of all the four apartments that I had bought, I lived in this apartment. I bought this apartment for my parents, but they gave it to my brother so that he could live with his wife. As for the other three apartments, I bought them as investments. Usually, I wouldn’t go check on them, so I gave the keys to my mother and asked her to help me to take care of them.

But who would think that there would be no place for me in these 4 apartments?

“Marina, let me tell you the truth,” my brother started to talk in a condescending manner.

“Don’t even think about retaking this apartment and the other apartments! You’d better go out to rent an apartment and find a job tomorrow,” he continued.

“If you don’t even have a job, don’t you ever think about entering this house from now on,” he said cockily.

My brother then put down my phone as he pointed at the balcony, telling me, “Well, Perry used to sleep at the balcony. You can spend a night there tonight.”

“I should’ve never had a family like you guys,” I told what I really had been holding in my heart as I left.

Immediately, my mother began cursing me, “Marina, you bitch! You think you want to rebel against us! Let me tell you, we’ll disown you if you don’t leave this house!”

My father also joined as he slammed the table and told me, “You’d better stop her! I want to beat her to make her realize who she really is!”

“Nah! Tell her to get out here as soon as possible. I’m pissed every time I see her,” my brother responded.

Violet then kicked Perry as she told her dog, “Perry, see you aunt off.”

I looked at my sister-in-law coldly as I responded, “You think you’re pregnant just because you own a fucking dog? Don’t you ever call me aunt!”

After that, I slammed the door loudly and left this damned apartment. However, I could hear them cheering inside before I walked further. It really hurt me.

My brother happily shouted, “Darling, we don’t have to worry about our apartment being taken away from us anymore. It’s all ours!”

“That’s great, Donald. I’m happy that we finally got this apartment free from that cruel woman!” my mother excitedly exclaimed.

That was my mother’s voice. At this point, frankly speaking, I didn’t even want to cry. In fact, I already completely gave up on them. Since this was the case, I guessed it was time to cut them off for good.

I quickly went to the nearest hotel and booked a room. After that, I contacted a lawyer and asked him to help me to prepare multiple lawsuits against my family. I had to get these four apartments back!

After I got enough sleep, I went to Beverly Hills the next day. Obviously, Beverly Hills was most-well known as the latest luxurious residential area. The area had multiple luxurious homes that were built on the mountain. Not only that, it offered a beautiful scenery that came with an astronomically expensive price. Living here was surely a symbol of status.

As soon as I went to the sales office that was as elegant as any luxurious hotel, I managed to buy a USD 30 million mansion halfway up the mountain. Not only I bought the house, but I also bought the services of a team of housekeepers with all of whom had already received special training. So, their work was particularly detailed.

There was the housekeeper who took care everything in my mansion. Also, there surely was a maid that was responsible to make sure my mansion would always look clean and polished. I also had my own personal chef that could make any types of dishes. Last but not least, I had my own security guard to keep my mansion safe.

Obviously, the living expense was extremely expnseive. But it seemed worth it to me now. It took me three days to finally settle down in this home. During these three days, my parents called me and reminded me that it was almost the end of the month. Therefore, I had to give them money to cover their living expenses or they wouldn’t let me enter my old apartment ever again.

I politely reminded them that I actually had USD 500 million, but they still refused to believe in it. It wasn’t my problem anymore, though. Meanwhile, I also contacted the lawyer. He was currently sorting out the materials. Soon, he might send my family a notice.

I already expected that they would make any kind of fuss in no time. Then, I remembered that I lived in Beverly Hills. This wasn’t a place that my family could enter easily. So, I felt much more relaxed.

Meanwhile, I took my time to get to know my staffs better. I quickly got to know all of them, especially my new personal chef whom I quickly got along with. That woman just graduated from college not long ago. When she made dishes, she was a very focused woman. However, she was very cheerful when she wasn’t working.

Her name was Jennifer Smith. It turned out that she didn’t only work for me as my personal chef. She was also a cooking instructor.

One day, she asked me if I could bring some of her students to visit my place tomorrow. She told me that her students were all rich socialites. Since I didn’t have many friends when I came back here, so I told her that I agreed to her request because I didn’t mind them.

On the very next daay, Jennifer brought her students very early. While she and her students were coming to my mansion, I went to my company because I had to deal with something technical. As soon as I was done with my work, I went to my mansion to find her and her students.

Jennifer and her students were talking by the artificial pond in the garden. When my personal chef saw me coming, she immediately stood up and greeted me.
