Chapter 3

Stellan hesitated before finally throwing his phone over and saying, "You'd better take a look yourself."

Vivianne's face instantly turned pale as she looked at it.

That was a post on Kiara's social media. There were no caption on it, only a pair of hands clasped together. The hand belonged to her and there was a ring on the ring finger.

As for the other hand, even if it turned into ashes, Vivianne could still recognize it as Lucas!

"They ...." She stared at Stellan in disbelief.

He nodded in awkward and said, "I can't recognize them. It just so happened that the restaurant where they had dinner belonged to my friend. Vivianne, did you break up with Lucas?"

Her throat choked and she did not know how to answer.

All of this happened too unexpectedly and she did not even have a chance to break up. Now it seemed that she was dumped, right?

Her condition was so bad that Stellan did not dare to speak more.

The ward fell into a deathly silence until Vivianne's phone vibrated a few times.

She opened it blankly, but the moment she read the message, her whole body froze.

[Sorry, I regretted it, so I decided to stay.]

[Vivianne, I want to take back the ring Lucas gave you.]

[A renovation team will come to our house in a few days. Orchid Tower No. 7 will be our new house. You should know what to do.]

It was from Kiara.

She used Lucas' WhatsApp to send those messages.

She even thoughtfully sent a photo of her and Lucas kissing under candlelight.

Vivianne's breathing stopped in a while.

She covered her mouth tightly as tears fell down uncontrollably, wetting the screen and her finger.

Stellan was so frightened that he hurriedly handed over the tissue. "What's wrong? What's wrong? If you have something uncomfortable, let's talk about it and deal with it properly. Don't cry," he said.

She did not want others to see her miserable appearance, so she buried herself in the blanket and gritted her teeth to surpress her sadness and disappointment.

Her fiancé proposed to someone else without her knowing ....

Was there anything more absurd and ridiculous than this?

It took Vivianne a long time to calm down. She asked Stellan to help with the discharge procedures and asked him to contact her biological parents as soon as possible. Then, she took a taxi home.

To be precise, to the Cannavale manor.

The new hostess had come in person to chase everyone away. No matter how thick-skinned Vivianne was, she could not stay there any longer. She had to go back immediately to pack up her things and move out.

The manor was empty.

Lucas' father, Hendry Cannavale, was hospitalized due to a sudden heart attack a few days ago. Lucas' mother, Lilliana Cannavale and the caregiver went to the hospital to accompany and take care of him.

In the room, Vivianne sat on her bed in a daze, feeling her heart broken into pieces.

There were traces of Lucas in every corner of this house.

In the small garden, he planted her favorite flowers and swing set by himself.

The living room was covered with a long rabbit velvet carpet because she loved to go barefoot.

When she first lost her adoptive parents, she could not sleep well, so Lucas gave up his room and communicated with the designer about the details of the decoration, then every night thereafter was sweet for her.

The more beautiful the past was, the more piercing the reality was.

She did not know how long she had been sitting there before she got up and decided to leave. She did not have much stuff with her, only some documents related to going abroad and a few sets of clothes to change into.

Just like coming to this house alone, when she left, she should also be clean and tidy.

As soon as Vivianne reached the staircase, she heard the sound of a car driving in from the yard and the door was pushed open from outside.

Her breath caught in her throat and she just stared helplessly as Lucas and Kiaraa walked in hand in hand.

The living room was so quiet.

Until Lucas' indifferent voice rang out. "Why are you here?"

Chapter 4

Vivianne almost burst into tears.

This house was the place where she lived for eight years and the room upstairs was the place Lucas decorated for her personally.

Even, in order to prevent her from feeling inferior because of living under someone else's roof, on Vivianne's birthday that year, Lucas and his parents personally took her to witness her name being engraved on the house book of this family!

Now he was asking her why she was here.

"I ~"

Vivianne wanted to question him why she could not be here and they had not officially broken up yet, she wanted to question him why he brought another woman into this house so openly.

But as soon as she opened her mouth, she was interrupted by Kiara.

"It's okay, Lucas, I've finally decided to stay. So don't get angry over such a small matter, okay?" Kiara smiled gently and took his hand to sit on the sofa. "Besides, Vivianne is also your sister. Don't treat her like this."

Sister?

Vivianne looked at the man in disbelief, only to see him frowning in disgust.

"Okay, stop speaking up for her! Even if she's my sister, she can't be so willful! I've spoiled her too much over the years and she has become so spoiled now!"

So, he thought of me as his little sister now?

Vivianne felt like she was falling into an icy cave.

But it was clearly him who confessed his love first, he was the one who refused to let Vivianne be his adopted daughter and he was the one who announced in front of all the relatives that Vivianne was his girlfriend and the girl he was going to marry in the future.

Now he said she was his little sister?

So what exactly were the past eight years?

Vivianne could no longer control her emotions and rushed to Lucas with tears in her eyes. "Explain it to me clearly! What do you mean by 'even if she's my sister'? What do you mean by 'I become so spoiled'? Explain it to me word by word!"

"And these, this photo, this information, the ring you asked your secretary to order, the wedding banquet you asked the hotel to cancel, the wedding dress you asked your manager to re-order, you asked me to, what do you want me to do?"

When it came to the last sentence, her voice was already hoarse.

She must have a fever again and her head hurt so much that it felt like it was about to explode.

A trace of embarrassment flashed across Lucas' face. He was silent for a long time, then walked forward and took Vivianne's hand. "I'm sorry, Vivianne. I have struggled and hesitated, but I really didn't expect that I would fall in love with two women at the same time."

"What did you say ...."

"No matter what, this is your home and I will be your family for life. Kiara will still leave after a while. Later, she will be abroad and you will be here. Let's get along well together, okay?"

Vivianne's whole body trembled and she could not believe what she had just heard.

She looked at Kiara next to her helplessly, but she saw her spreading her hands casually and responded, "I don't mind, open marriage, no one needs to be tied up."

Vivianne felt that the two of them must be crazy, otherwise how could they say such things?

She shook off Lucas' hand and yelled at him, pointing at his face.

"You bastard!"

"You were the one who chased me in the first place! You brought me to this house! We were already engaged, we didn't break up and now you not only shamelessly brought this woman into the house, but you also humiliated me like this and you still -"

A piercing slap sounded.

Vivianne had always been pampered.

In the past, it was her adoptive parents who held her in their hands and later it was Lucas' parents who treated her as their own daughter and Lucas, who had known her for more than twenty years and had never said a harsh word to her.

Now he hit her for a mistress!

The slap was so hard that Vivianne, who was still weak, was pushed and hit the wine cabinet.

Chapter 5

The wine splashed all over her body, the broken glass stabbed her bare feet and the solid wood cabinet fell down and hit her arm.

Vivianne laid on the floor miserably, sweating all over from the pain.

In a daze, she seemed to hear the sound of bones breaking.

"Are you crazy, Lucas? Hurry, call an ambulance!"

Kiara screamed, then she was about to step forward and help Vivianne, but Lucas who had an iron face, pulled her hand.

"Don't worry about her! It's just a minor injury. She won't die."

"I've given her a choice. She's the one who doesn't know what's good for her. She even dared to insult you. I don't know how arrogant she'll become if I don't teach her a lesson!"

Lucas' cold gaze fell on Vivianne and he said, "Remember this! Kiara is your future sister-in-law and the future lady of this family. Show her some respect in the future."

Vivianne was almost dying from the pain.

She bit her lip too hard and the blood flowed out from the corners of her lips, mixing with the red wine that flowed from her head, leaving scars on her fair skin.

She used all her strength to look at him and asked in a low voice, "Lucas, what have you treated me like in these five years?"

"You -"

Just as Lucas was about to speak, Kiara interrupted him.

"Alright, alright, stop arguing. I'm tired and sleepy. Lucas, can you go up and help me clean up the room? Vivianne is still weak. Let me talk to her for a while."

The way she spoke was so gentle and her gaze emitted tenderness and love.

The anger and hostility on Lucas' face immediately subsided.

He lowered his head and gave Kiara's forehead a kiss, then he signaled a warning to her before going upstairs.

The spacious living room fell silent again.

Vivianne's hand must have been broken and she felt dizzy.

But she did not want to appear weak in front of Kiara and struggled to get up from the floor.

She heard a mocking voice coming from above her head.

"Are you pretending to be weak and pitiful? It's a pity."

"It's a pity, the only one who might feel sorry for you has already gone upstairs and me, your love rival, would wish you to be even more miserable."

Vivianne raised her head and replied, "Kiara, don't push yourself too far."

"So what?"

Kiara sneered, took a step forward and squatted in front of her, "As you can see, I came in and snatched your most precious man away, what can you do?"

"You!"

"Seeing your pitiful appearance, I'll be honest with you."

Kiara curled her lips, then lifted Vivianne's chin.

She had such a gentle and charming face, but the words she spoke sounded as if they were filled with poison.

"I met Lucas when you were seventeen years old and after dating for more than two years, we broke up because we were young and impetuous. He kept pestering me for a long time until I married my first husband and gave up. Then, as you know, he confessed his feelings to you and took you back to the Cannavales."

"You ... what did you say ...."

Vivianne's whole body was stiff and even her lips were trembling when she spoke.

Kiara patted her shoulder indifferently and said, "Don't be so surprised, Vivianne. You should feel grateful because you are somewhat similar to me so you can live the life of a little princess for five years."

"Two years ago, after I divorced my first husband, Lucas came to me drunk in the middle of the night and then I found out that he hadn't let me go yet. That day ...."

She paused, then leaned close to Vivianne's ear and said softly and maliciously, "That day, we did it. Even after such a long time, we are still harmonious and happy."
