Before I reached the cemetery gate, I received a call from the cemetery manager.
Someone was digging my mother's grave!
It was like a bolt from the blue that broke my heart again.
I turned around immediately and rushed to my mother's grave.
My mother had always been a kind woman all her life. She gave me everything she had. Even when she learned that she had a heart disease and could die any minute, she told me not to have her name engraved on her tombstone. She wanted me to write, "May my daughter live a safe and happy life".
She said that was her only wish and also the reason she named me Natalie.
"Tristen, my son will love this new home."
As soon as I arrived, I saw the urn of Wesley's dog had been placed in my mother's grave, and two bodyguards from the Felix family were reburying the place.
My mother's urn was cast aside.
"What are you doing?!"
I rushed over and shouted, "Who told you to dig someone else's grave just like that?!"
Wesley pretended to be scared and hid in Tristen's arms. "This is the new home I chose for my son. We've already told the cemetery manager. I saw the words engraved on the cemetery. It shows a mother's love for her daughter. Later, I will just give the deceased's daughter some money. I'm sure she won't mind this. Why are you so worked up? You look scary."
I walked over, snatched the shovel from the bodyguard, and frantically dug the soil they had just filled.
"Natalie, what are you doing? Stop it!"
Tristen snatched the shovel from my hand.
"Tristen, how could you?!"
I roared and then started digging the soil with my bare hands.
Seeing that I was about to reach the urn, Wesley became anxious. "Stop her! My son has suffered enough. I will never allow him to be dug out!"
Two bodyguards held me down immediately.
"Let me go!"
I struggled desperately but couldn't break free from them.
"Wesley is already sad. How could you dig up Angel's grave to make her feel worse? You've gone too far. Apologize to her now!"
"Never!"
Wesley dug up my mother's grave to bury her dog, which made me wanna kill her.
"Tristen. You kept telling me that she's a good girl. But I think she is just pretending to be nice in front of you. Look how crazy she was just now. If you really marry her, you will be a great joke."
Wesley took the opportunity to speak ill of me in front of Tristen with a provocative look.
"Who dares to laugh at my woman?"
Tristen's words displeased Wesley, but she didn't show it. She was best at disguising herself.
For instance, Wesley never loved dogs, but she insisted on adopting one.
Tristen approached me, his face stern. "Natalie. I can't believe you're being pretentious for a grave. I'm so disappointed in you. Just apologize to Wesley, and I may consider forgiving you."
"What if I don't?"
I gritted my teeth and refused to yield.
"Don't forget that your mother still needs the drug from my company. I told you there's only one kind of surgery that can cure her heart disease, and I've scheduled it for her next week."
Tristen threatened me.
"Are you saying that you would cut off my mom for her?"
My mother had always treated Tristen like her own son. She always told me not to let him down. In her eyes, Tristen could make a great husband.
The latter also respected my mother because she saved him before. Tristen had promised my mother more than once that he would cure her heart disease, let her live a long life, and enjoy a great life surrounded by her grandchildren.
I just didn't expect Tristen to threaten me with my mother's life for Wesley!
He took out his phone indifferently and continued to threaten me, "That's right. So, are you gonna apologize or not?"
How ridiculous.
I had lost hope in Tristen, but I still couldn't help feeling disappointed that he could go this far for Wesley.
Tears fell from my eyes without me realizing it.
Seeing me weeping, Tristen frowned slightly, and there was a strange look in his eyes.
He was about to say something else, but Wesley glared at me with disdain. "I really don't know why you are being so dramatic. I didn't dig up your family's grave!"
After saying that, she looked at the bodyguards behind me and waved her hand. "Refill the grave and let my son rest in peace."
The two bodyguards let me go and began to work.
I stepped forward to stop them immediately.
"Are you done?!"
Tristen grabbed me and pushed me away hard!
I fell to the ground, and my shoulder hit my mother's urn.
It was knocked over, and the ashes were scattered all over the ground.
My mind went blank for a moment. It was so painful that I couldn't even breathe.
Watching my mother die with regrets was the most painful thing for me. Now, I couldn't even protect her ashes.
The pain and hatred were unbearable!
Even God had taken their side. It started raining suddenly.
The rain ruined my mother's ashes.
"No, no!"
I lay on the ground in despair, trying hard to collect the ashes with my hands.
But I couldn't stop them from slipping through my fingers.
Guilt swept over me, and I seemed to become numb.
"Natalie. Why are you lying on the ground like a dog for a stranger's urn? That's enough for the show!"
Wesley came over and stood on my mother's ashes, looking down at me.
"Go away!" I pushed her away hard.
Wesley staggered and fell backward, but Tristen caught her in time.
"Natalie, you almost pushed Wesley to the ground!" Tristen was enraged.
"I must teach you a lesson today!"
He took out his phone and said coldly,
"Corey, don't send the gift. Also, stop offering drugs to Natalie's mother and cancel the scheduled surgery immediately!"
On the other end of the phone, Corey was silent for a while before speaking, "Mr. Felix. Ms. Skye's mother died on your wedding day!"
"I also found out that the grave that Ms. Linch buried her dog belongs to Ms. Skye's mother!"
