Chapter 2

Lillian chuckled and pounced on him. "Ashton, I've missed you so much!"

Ashton tousled her hair, his eyes filled with affection. He looked down and said, "Do you need me to teach that clueless scumbag a lesson?"

"No need, Ashton." Lillian takes Ashton's hand.

Lillian got up, her voice a bit raspy. She sniffled, her nose feeling a bit sore, but she held back the tears that were about to fall before speaking again.

Over the course of these three years, her love for Zachary had slowly faded away, and Beatrice's return had completely exhausted the last bit of patience she had for Zachary.

Ashton's heart was heavy as he watched his sister in this sad state.

In the beginning, Lillian had loved Zachary so much. She married him with all her heart. However, she ended up divorcing him because of Beatrice's return.

"From now on, I'm just the Wilson family's Lillian. I have no relationship with Zachary anymore."

"I was stubborn and married him back then. Now that I've divorced him, I'm going to cut all contact with him!"

"Right, you're the Wilson family's little princess, our beloved one. Why should you suffer from that scumbag? Dad and Blaze are waiting for you at home."

"I'll take you home." Ashton wiped away the tears in the corner of Lillian's eyes.

Then, the car started moving slowly. Lillian glanced back at the Sinclair Villa, a hint of determination flashing in her eyes.

She thought, "Goodbye, Zachary, the one I've loved for three years! From today on, I will be a completely new me!"

.....

In the Sinclair Villa, Zachary wore a gloomy expression. Scenes of Lillian leaving flashed through his mind. Zachary rubbed his temples, feeling like he was losing his mind.

He thought, 'I can't believe I'm thinking about that malicious lady again. But what Lillian said before leaving has shaken my mind. Could it be that there was more to Beatrice's departure all those years ago?'

Zachary was feeling agitated, but at that moment, the phone rang.

"What is it?"

"Mr. Sinclair, Ms. Young woke up but then fainted again..."

He was so startled that he felt like something exploded in his mind. Zachary grabbed his suit from the coat rack and rushed out the door.

Soon, he arrived at the VIP ward in the hospital. He looked at the lady on the hospital mattress, pale and unconscious, and felt a pang in his heart.

After tucking her in, he looked at his assistant, who had been waiting nearby, and asked in a cold tone, "What happened?"

"Mr. Sinclair, when Ms. Young woke up, she insisted on seeing you. I tried to stop her, but she became emotional and fainted. On your way here, the doctor examined her."

"There's nothing serious. Ms. Young just seems to be a bit anemic due to a lack of nutrition, which causes her to faint when she gets emotional."

His assistant Harris finished speaking with his head down, clearly sensing that Zachary's aura had become even colder.

"Next time, if anything related to Beatrice comes up, no matter when it happens, you must report it to me immediately."

Harris nodded, looking hesitant to say something.

Zachary noticed and furrowed his brows. "Is there something else?"

"Mr. Sinclair... There's one more thing. It's about Ms. Wilson..."

"Every piece of information and photo related to Ms. Wilson on the Internet has disappeared completely, as if... she never existed!"

Zachary's aura grew even colder, and he spoke after a long pause, "Send someone to investigate!"

Chapter 3

Three days later, a bombshell hit the business world of Prosperity City...

[The Regal Group Appoints a Mysterious CEO, Hosting a Banquet Tonight at Serenity Hotel]

In the evening of that day, at Serenity Hotel in Prosperity City, a top-notch banquet was about to begin.

Prominent figures from various sectors gathered at the hotel, exchanging pleasantries and engaging in both open and subtle power plays.

At that moment, a limited-edition car slowly pulled up at the entrance.

All people turned to look at it, assuming that the new CEO of the Regal Group had arrived. However, to their surprise, Zachary stepped out of the car with a lady in his arms. He exuded nobility, and the lady was strikingly beautiful, though she appeared a bit unwell.

They were a match made in heaven, a perfect couple.

The crowd began to buzz with excitement as soon as the two appeared.

"Isn't that Mr. Sinclair? Who's the lady beside him? Could it be Mrs. Sinclair, the one he's secretly married to for three years?"

"I don't think so. I've had the fortune of seeing Mrs. Sinclair before, and she exudes a natural beauty. This lady is undoubtedly beautiful, yet something seems amiss..." Before he could finish his sentence, he felt a venomous lock on him.

He looked up and met Beatrice's malicious glare. He immediately clammed up.

Zachary overheard his comment, furrowing his brows but saying nothing.

Beside him, Beatrice, seeing Zachary's silence, gritted her teeth. She leaned closer to him, then spoke in a coquettish tone, "Zachary, my feet hurt."

Hearing this, Zachary embraced Beatrice and spoke in a low voice, "Be patient. Once we meet the new CEO of the Regal Group, we will leave here."

"Alright."

Beatrice refrained from saying anything further. She knew Zachary cared for her. It was not only because she had saved his life but also because she understood boundaries. She would never pry into matters he chose not to reveal.

The affectionate interaction between them caught the eyes of onlookers, eliciting envious glances.

"They are so in love. It's adorable!"

"I want to fall in love too. When will I experience such sweet romance?"

Hearing the discussions and receiving admiring looks, Beatrice proudly raised her chin.

She thought, 'Even if the Young family doesn't recognize me as their daughter, I am now Zachary's sweetheart and will surely become his wife in the future. I am the most prestigious lady in all of Prosperity City!'

Just as Beatrice was getting carried away with her thoughts, the crowd once again stirred.

A dark, understated, yet dignified car gracefully pulled up at the hotel's entrance.

Ashton was the first to step out, emanating an aura of aloofness, warning others not to approach. He then bent down and gallantly reached his hand inside the car. A delicate, slender hand gently rested on his.

Seeing that hand, Zachary couldn't help but find it strangely familiar.

The next moment, when he fully saw the lady who had stepped out of the car, his eyes widened, and his gaze locked onto the breathtakingly elegant lady before the vehicle.

She was Lillian, who had been disappearing for three days!

Chapter 4

For these past three days, he had sent people to trace her whereabouts, but no matter what methods were employed, not a trace of her could be found.

He had initially thought that Lillian, who had selflessly cared for him for three years, should be compensated in some way after the divorce, but now...

Zachary glanced at the guy beside Lillian, and a hint of irony flashed in his eyes.

Lillian glanced casually, not paying much attention, and began conversing with the people around her.

Someone recognized Ashton and enthusiastically squeezed through the crowd with a microphone, his voice trembling with excitement.

"Excuse me, are you Ashton Wilson, the CEO of the Fels Group? What's your relationship with this young lady..."

"Is it true that you're the newly appointed CEO of the Regal Group? Could you please share more..."

"I'm sorry..."

Ashton had initially intended to decline to answer these questions, but when he looked up and saw the gaze Zachary was directing at him, his tone suddenly changed, and he looked at Zachary provocatively.

"Naturally, the lovely lady by my side is my sweetheart. Some may consider her a cast-off, but to me, she's the apple of my eye." He said this to Zachary to hear.

After Ashton finished speaking, the crowd started screaming.

Some people, moved by this sweet confession, shouted excitedly.

"If I'm guilty, let the law punish me instead of making me witness public displays of affection..."

The commotion in the crowd caught Lillian's attention. She turned her head to look at Ashton, asking casually, "What's going on?"

Ashton rubbed his nose awkwardly and said, "It's nothing. I just told them that you're my sweetheart!"

Hearing this, Lillian pinched Ashton's body. "How could you really say that...?"

Ashton winced and rubbed his back, looking somewhat aggrieved.

Zachary, seeing the intimate interaction between the two, grew increasingly grim.

Feeling resentful that the crowd's attention was still on Lillian, Beatrice waved her hand and accidentally knocked over a glass of wine.

The crisp sound rang out among the people, and everyone turned to look at Beatrice. However, they saw her with a smile as she gently spoke, "I'm sorry. I accidentally broke the glass."

Upon hearing Beatrice's words, Zachary furrowed his brow and let go of her hand, quickly inspecting her from head to toe.

"Did you get hurt anywhere?"

"Zachary, I'm fine. But the broken glass..."

Beatrice bit her mouth, feeling somewhat aggrieved, but there was a hint of satisfaction in her eyes as she glanced towards Lillian with a hint of provocation.
