Chapter 1

After I studied and lived in Descensio for five years, I finally graduated and was ready to return to my home country to take over my dad's company.

When I arrived at the Sullivan Group building, I took a picture and posted it on my Instagram story with the caption. 'Since you're the man I love most, I'm here to see you immediately after graduation.'

Yet, a woman appeared out of nowhere and slapped me as soon as I arrived at the company's lobby.

"It's her! She's the hussy! She had seduced my husband back in high school. Now that my husband has become the director, she shamelessly showed up here to flirt with him. So, I want you girls to beat her up. I'll take the blame if anything happens."

While the woman was cooking up a story about me seducing Marcus Lane, a director of Sullivan Group, others around simply looked on coldly and judged me.

She slashed my limited-edition bag to pieces and smashed the expensive seal I wanted to give my dad.

"You're just a gold digger wearing and buying fake luxury goods. It's just a few hundred dollars. I can still afford to pay you."

However, little did she know that everything I had was real.

Even if she and her director husband worked for the rest of their lives, they would never be able to afford to pay for the damages.

Getting Assaulted

"Dad, don't worry. I will take a taxi and go to the company to see you as soon as I land."

The five years spent while pursuing my master's degree in Descensio were the most unforgettable moments in my life. Still, I finally graduated and returned home.

I couldn't help but feel psyched as I looked at the eighty-eight-floor high Sullivan Group building, which my dad had established for me.

Thus, I took out my mobile phone, took a picture, tagged my location, and posted it on my Instagram story. 'Since you're the man I love most, I'm here to see you immediately after graduation.'

As soon as I walked into the lobby, a man suddenly called out to me, "Noelle!"

I immediately turned around and looked at the man. Although his face appeared slightly familiar, I couldn't remember who he was. "Who are you?"

His face was stone cold as he spoke in an unfriendly tone, "My, my, I didn't expect you to end up in such an awful state. Why do you still act like you don't know me when you are specifically here to find me? No man will fancy a woman who gets carried away with the game of playing hard to get."

As he spoke, he raised his head and confidently flipped his bangs.

When that familiar gesture clicked in my head, I instantly recalled who he was. "Marcus Lane?"

Marcus, a male classmate from high school, who used to harass me. Since I had no good memory of him, I twitched my lips, smiled politely at him, and prepared to leave.

Yet, he abruptly grabbed my arm and said, "You're thinking of returning to my side now that I'm rich, aren't you?"

His words baffled me slightly. I tried to break free, but he stubbornly held on to me and refused to let go.

Before I could scold him, a beautifully dressed woman with long hair pushed open the door and rushed into the lobby. She even yelled at me, "Noelle, you shameless hussy! Stay away from my husband!"

Immediately afterward, she picked up her bag and flung it straight at my face.

I failed to dodge since Marcus had such a firm grip on my arm. As a result, she hit me hard on my left cheek.

"What are you doing?"

The metal on the woman's bag hit my eyebrow and nearly injured my eyeball.

I felt furious about getting assaulted out of nowhere. So, I stepped on Marcus' foot, broke free from his restraints, and roared furiously, "What the hell is wrong with you two? Do I even know you? Did you guys escape from the psychiatric hospital? One came up to me and started gabbling nonsense, while another showed up and immediately attacked me!"

The woman standing before me appeared even angrier than me. Although she was fashionably dressed, the scowl on her face was so great that it morphed her middling features into something unbearably ugly.

"Why are you pretending to have amnesia? Everyone knows that I have been dating Marcus for years. Yet, you dare say you don't know me?! Today, I will show you just how determined I am to fight for my love!"

As she spoke, she waved to the gaggle of best friends behind her. "Girls, it's time to fight for my love. Let's show this mistress that I, Vivian Hart, am not alone in this fight."

Vivian Hart? Well, her name sounded rather familiar. I recalled that she seemed to be my high school classmate as well.

The delinquent girl behind her rolled up her sleeves and was ready to throw a punch. "Fight for Vivian's magical relationship!"

The security guard and employees, who originally wanted to come over and stop the fight, halted in their tracks. Shortly after, they whispered among each other and looked at me with contempt.

"She's beautiful, but I can't believe she turns out to be a mistress."

"You don't know? Nowadays, only pretty women like her would mess around with a taken man and be a homewrecker."

"She's such a disgrace to her parents."

"Hurry up and take a video of this. We should post videos of shameless hussy like her online and expose her so that she will be too humiliated to the point that she couldn't live the rest of her life with integrity."

One after another, the onlookers took out their mobile phones and took pictures of my face.

The President's Daughter

When I noticed this, I became slightly anxious. Nonetheless, I attempted to prove my innocence as I shouted, "I don't know them all that well! They're simply spreading rumors and spewing nonsense!"

Alas, Vivian refused to listen to reason as she spat, "No woman will acknowledge herself as a mistress."

It seemed that Vivian genuinely thought she was judging me from a moral high ground as she regarded me with a triumphant look in her eyes.

"Girls, do you hear that? Everyone despises a homewrecker. Now, do your thing and teach her a lesson!"

As soon as these words escaped Vivian's lips, a delinquent girl behind her took the lead, walked up to me, and slapped me in the face.

I instinctively tried to block the slap, but Vivian punched me in the stomach.

The pain made me bend over and see stars.

"How dare you dodge! Why didn't you learn to keep your paws to yourself when you're out whoring yourself, then?"

I clutched my stomach and propped myself up with the support of my knees. "There must be some misunderstanding. I came to Sullivan Group today because—"

Before I could finish explaining, Vivian grabbed my hair and slapped me in the face again. Only this time, it was my right cheek.

"Great! Now, both your cheeks are equally red and swollen!"

She grabbed my hair hard and forced me to look up at her. "You showed up here today because you knew Marcus is now the director of Sullivan Group, right?"

Then, she fixed her angry gaze on the necklace around my neck.

"It looks like not only are you a hussy, but you are also a vain gold digger."

As she spoke, she ripped off the sapphire necklace from my neck. "My husband has never bought me such an expensive gift, but he actually bought it for you!"

When Marcus heard Vivian's remark, he awkwardly looked away. Yet, he never explained anything.

There was a trace of blood oozing from the corner of my mouth, and I could tell that my outfit was completely disheveled. I was undoubtedly in a state of utter disarray.

"This is a birthday gift from my mom."

"Your Mom is just some cleaner. How could she afford to give you such an expensive gift?" Vivian scoffed.

Meanwhile, I felt my strength leaving me after sustaining multiple injuries on my body. At this point, I didn't even have the energy to argue with her.

The security guard cautiously approached Marcus, worried that something bad might happen. Then, he discreetly tugged the lower hem of Marcus' shirt, and urged, "Mr. Lane, I think you should end things. We're at the Sullivan Group premises, after all. It will be hard for you to come up with a satisfactory answer if your wife and her friends really beat the girl almost to death here."

Marcus frowned at the security guard's words. Just as he was about to say something, Vivian hugged his arm and whined coquettishly, "Honey, do not tell me you're still in love with this wench. You had promised my mom yesterday that you would only pamper and love me for the rest of your life."

When Marcus heard what Vivian said, his eyes flickered slightly. Then, he appeased her gently, saying, "Not to worry, baby. I won't forget my promise to Mrs. Sullivan. Then you must ask Mom to promote me further by two levels when the time comes."

Vivian hurriedly agreed. After she got a promise out of Marcus, she looked at me proudly.

As for Marcus, he turned to the security guard and said, "My wife is simply being righteous. If something indeed happens, others will only consider her punishing the wrongdoers for the sake of society. Besides, have you forgotten who her mom is?"

Hence, the security guard had no choice but to keep his objections to himself after seeing Marcus' stance on the matter.

Vivian approached me with a twisted smirk on her lips. "Now, no one can save you."

Suddenly, she focused on my bag, which slung across my body. "I wasn't framing you when I said that you were vain. Ha! I can't believe you would carry a fake bag."

"It's the real deal," I instinctively retorted.

When Vivian heard my words, she looked up and cackled. Then, she turned to the delinquent girl behind her and ridiculed me nonstop, "Girls, did I hear it right? Did she just say this is a real bag? How can the daughter of a street cleaner have the money to buy a real bag?"

Her face took on a somber expression as she speculated maliciously. "Even if it's real, you must have become another man's mistress and have him buy it for you."

As she spoke, she reached out and wanted to snatch my bag. "Today, I will carry out God's will and help those innocent women reclaim their husbands' property."

Since my identification card and the gifts for my parents were still in my bag, I tried my best to protect the bag.

Vivian promptly lost her temper when she saw that she had failed to snatch it away from me after. "Girls, hold her down! Look at how she treasures this bag so much. I can bet my boots that this must be her only branded bag. Let's ruin her bag and her. We shall see how she's going to seduce men in the future."

A sinister glint appeared in her eyes, and she suddenly went hysterical, behaving like a hungry wolf seeing its prey.

Given my limited strength, it was already hard for me to fight Vivian and the delinquent girl alone, let alone a dozen of them. Two to three delinquent girls jumped on me and grabbed my hand. As a result, I couldn't move and could only helplessly watch my bag being snatched away.

At this point, I didn't care about embarrassing my dad and shouted, "I am the president's daughter!"

Chapter 3

No Right to Judge

For a moment, the atmosphere turned still. Then, the crowd around me abruptly burst into laughter.

"Did I hear her right? Did she actually lie and claim that she is the president's daughter?" Vivian asked the onlookers before shifting her attention back to me. "Do you know how rich the president of Sullivan Group is? Low-born folks like you will never be able to claim ties with him in a million years."

Marcus, on the other hand, arched his eyebrow, walked over to Vivian, and gestured for her to release me after hearing my statement. "Noelle, I know you're used to lying, but you should know when to draw the line. Even if your last name is Sullivan, that doesn't mean you are related to the president."

I clutched my skirt's hem tightly and retorted coldly, "I am my dad's daughter. It's the truth. I don't need to lie."

"It's fine if you want to lie to others. Still, you should be careful not to get too carried away and end up looking delusional." Marcus' eyes darkened as he pointed at Vivian and asked me, "Alright. Since you claim to be the president's daughter, do you recognize Vivian?"

Since I had no idea what they were up to, I replied truthfully, "You guys are my high school classmates."

Marcus' face immediately donned a look of relief. "Ha! How bold of you to claim to be the daughter of the Sullivans when you don't even know your own maternal cousin! Next time, do some research before you lie to somebody."

His words took me aback. How would I have a maternal cousin when my mom was an only child?

A realization instantly hit me when I saw the elusiveness in Vivian's eyes.

Vivian feigned composure as she took Marcus' hand and said, "Marcus, don't listen to her nonsense. Have you forgotten that her mom is just a cleaner? We both saw it with our own eyes."

I noticed that Vivian kept insisting that my mom was a cleaner. So, I asked in confusion, "Why are you so sure that I am a cleaner's daughter?"

Vivian snorted and returned to her initial arrogant demeanor. "During our eleventh-grade summer break, Marcus and I saw you helping your mom sweep the streets. She kept calling your name so fondly. She even worried about you getting tired and kept refusing your help. Who else would treat you so nicely other than your mom?"

Eleventh grade?

Oh, I understood the situation now. That year, since I was already in high school, my mom told me I could participate in some company events.

Every year, my mom would carry out various charitable activities such as caring for the lonely elderly, funding the schooling of unattended children, and providing free meals to some street cleaners in the company's name.

The weather was very windy that day. So, the cleaning lady struggled to sweep away all the fallen leaves. Since I knew that she hadn't eaten yet, I asked her to rest and eat before continuing with her task.

However, she was worried about the street cleaning task and refused to eat, no matter how much I persuaded her.

Thus, I picked up the broom and swept the floor. I asked her to eat first while I swept the streets for her.

She felt rather sheepish. So, she wolfed down her food in an attempt to finish everything quickly and take the broom in my hand. At the same time, she said to me with concern, "Noelle, just leave it. I'll sweep the leaves once I'm done. Or else, your clothes will get dirty later."

Apparently, that scene must be what Vivian and Marcus had witnessed at that time. That was why they firmly believed that I was a cleaner's daughter.

Once I had that epiphany, I laughed in anger and questioned them, "So what if I am a cleaner's daughter? Does that give you the right to assault me physically?"

Then, I looked Marcus sharply in the eye and continued, "Is this how the director of Sullivan Group should behave? As a director, you think you can look down upon the poor and bully the poor at will?"

Although he clearly felt somewhat guilt-stricken, he immediately reacted and screeched in fury, "You're just a cleaner's daughter! What right do you have to teach me a lesson?"

Meanwhile, Vivian took out an eyebrow razor. "You dare to lecture my husband? Today, I will teach you some manners. My husband is an outstanding man. He deserves to be worshiped by the likes of you!"

Then, she winked at the delinquent girls, signaling them to take action. They wasted no time coming forward and pinning me down like some rabid animal.

"First, I will slash your bag to pieces. Then, I will slash your face so badly that you will be too ashamed to go out into the public for the rest of your life."

As I was being pinned down, I could only watch in panic as she slowly closed in on me with the eyebrow razor.
