Chapter 1

My husband's secretary, Regina Wade, claims she is a lucky charm. She wins every lottery ticket she buys and even wins three bets in a row.

In truth, she is just transferring her bad luck onto me.

In my previous life, she confidently invites the entire company to gamble, and everyone walks away with huge winnings.

Well, everyone except me, as I lose everything.

Regina throws money around in the casino, indulging her vanity, while my face rots and my body becomes riddled with illness. She conducts livestreams to auction off her good luck, while I get hit by cars every time I go out and almost die from infection during surgery.

When I ask my husband, Jack Burns, to investigate her, he points at me angrily and scolds, "Ariel Nichols, stop blaming your bad luck on Reggie. You are just jealous that she is lucky. With such vicious thoughts, you deserve to get hit!"

Three days later, Regina wins a trillion-dollar gamble and gains boundless wealth. I, on the other hand, bleed from inside and die suddenly.

Even until my death, I never figure out why I have such terrible luck.

When I open my eyes again, I return to the day Regina first claims she is a lucky charm.

"With me at the table today, winning's a sure thing! I'm basically a lucky charm. Who'd pass that up?" Regina Wade said, gazing at everyone confidently.

In that instant, I realized I had been reborn!

In my previous life, Regina kept claiming she was a lucky charm. Everyone who took her advice and joined the bet struck it rich.

But I was the only one who lost everything.

I thought once I paid off my gambling debts, it would be over, but things only got worse.

Out of nowhere, I was saddled with massive debt, hit by cars again and again, struck by falling flowerpots, and even suddenly plagued by illness overnight, with hospitals turning me away.

I hadn't done a thing!

I was instantly furious, itching to get to the bottom of it.

"I won't be going."

The moment I finished speaking, the whole room fell silent. The face of my husband, Jake Burns, darkened at once.

"Ariel Nichols, are you nuts? Reggie landed this major project by her own luck, but you took sick leave. Never mind that. But now there's a bet that's practically free money, and you're refusing to go? What exactly is your problem? Are you determined to go against Reggie?"

Everyone instantly rolled their eyes at me.

"Some people just like to freeload! Suit yourself. When we've made money, you'll definitely regret your decision!"

"Exactly! Everyone knows how lucky Regina is. So many people are watching this bet. Only an idiot would skip it!"

I clenched my teeth and ignored them. No one knew what I had gone through in my previous life.

Since I was given a second chance, I had to make sure it counted.

Regina chuckled softly and looked at me. "Are you really not coming? Just don't regret it when we win big."

"No need to persuade me. I won't go!"

Regina sighed in disappointment. "Fine, then. If Ariel refuses to go, I guess it'll just be us."

I knew it. She still wanted me to go!

My horrible luck must have had something to do with her.

Chapter 2

After they left, I immediately went to a cafe and opened the betting livestream. The viewer count had shot up to nearly ten million.

In the livestream, Regina stood confidently in front of the betting table.

"You're the woman with incredible luck? You're on my turf today, so I'll see to it you walk away with nothing." The scar-faced man who spoke seemed pretty experienced in the betting scene.

Regina simply took a slow sip of her drink, completely unruffled, as if everything was beneath her concern.

"Is that so? I'll be looking forward to it."

The entire crowd was stunned by her calm confidence. The next second, the scar-faced man revealed a three-of-a-kind, then shot Regina a provocative look.

The livestream chat instantly exploded.

"Three of a kind? Wow!"

"Regina, what should we do? Should we…"

Regina merely smiled and cut in, "Raise the bet!"

My whole body tensed up. In my previous life, when Regina raised the stakes, she ended up winning big while I lost my entire fortune. This time, I wasn't even there. I wanted to see what she could possibly do next.

As everyone fell silent, Regina revealed the dice box—three sixes!

"Triple six!"

Everyone gasped in surprise.

"No wonder Regina's known for her luck. This is awesome!"

As if sensing something, Regina suddenly looked straight at the camera and met my gaze.

I froze, a chill traveling down my spine.

The next second, a car burst through the glass doors and came hurtling straight at me!

"No!" I screamed out loud, but unbeknownst to me, stacks of heavy boxes had surrounded me, leaving me no room to escape as the impact slammed into me.

Pain shot through my entire body. Blood quickly soaked through my clothes, spreading in a chilling warmth across my skin.

Not far away, the livestream on the phone was still playing.

Despair overwhelmed me. This was the safest place in the entire city. Where did that car come from?

Gritting my teeth, I picked up the phone. In the livestream, Regina's win was met with cheers.

"Good job, Reggie! This is the second round!"

"She won two rounds in a row?"

A chill ran through me from head to toe, and my face turned deathly pale in an instant.

What kind of misfortune would come for me this time?

Without warning, my phone began to flood with countless massive loan approvals.

I endured the pain and checked the details, only to find that every loan was legally binding.

There was no way I could call the cops.

Fear gripped me so tightly that my entire body began to tremble uncontrollably.

Once Regina got lucky, I would have to endure misfortune.

I didn't want to live my entire life looking over my shoulder like this.

The next round of betting was about to begin. Glancing at my wounds, I made up my mind and quickly grabbed a cab, heading to the casino.

I had to stop her from placing any more bets!

Chapter 3

I had just arrived at the casino when a huge sign suddenly came crashing down from above!

My heart skipped a beat. I reacted instantly and dodged just in time, narrowly avoiding getting hit on the head.

I pushed the door open with a bang.

I rushed over to Regina, my face full of fear and panic. "Regina, stop this. If you continue betting, I'll die for sure!"

In my previous life, I watched Regina win prizes and bets again and again, while I had to suffer wave after wave of suffering and illness in the hospital.

My misfortune was so extreme that even the nurses avoided me, and I was shuffled from one hospital to another with no end in sight.

This time, I was determined to get to the bottom of everything.

The moment I finished speaking, anger swept through the entire crowd.

Jack even stepped forward to defend her. "Ariel, you refused to come when we asked you earlier! Now that Reggie is winning, you got upset and came over to stop her? Drop the pity act!"

People around me started shoving me even harder.

"That's right. Ariel, get out of here!"

I was instantly surrounded.

Regina casually rolled a die in her hand, letting out a soft laugh. "Ariel, why would you die if I place a bet? What kind of logic is that?"

My face was tense, tears almost welling up in my eyes.

"You know exactly what's going on!"

At that moment, two words flashed across the livestream screen. "Start betting!"

Regina spoke slowly and calmly. "Alright then. One more round."

They pinned my shoulders down so tightly I could barely move. I struggled beneath them, desperation rising as I pleaded to Regina, "Please stop this! Regina, you'll get me killed!"

Yet, Regina merely flashed a smile.

Just moments earlier, the scar-faced man had already demanded that everything be inspected—the dice, the table, everything. With tens of millions watching, there was no way she could tamper with anything.

This was the perfect opportunity for her to make a name for herself.

Sure enough, as soon as she opened the dice cup again, it was another three of a kind.

Gasps erupted across the entire room.

"Damn, Reggie! We're sticking with you from now on!"

Caught in the chaos, I was shoved through the crowd until I lost my balance completely. At the same moment, the chandelier above suddenly came loose and plummeted straight toward me.

Shards of shattered glass embedded themselves into my skin in an instant. A wave of pain hit me, causing me to lose consciousness on the spot.
