Chapter 2

Edward hurried over and patted my back, assuming I was feeling nauseous again from the fertility injection. "Honey, feeling bad again?"

My eyes were red from vomiting, and I felt nauseous at the thought of that woman. I angrily pushed his hand away, and tears uncontrollably welled up in my eyes, but I couldn't speak and felt a heavy block in my chest.

He looked at me, filled with pity, and wrapped his arms around me, his voice becoming hoarse as he said, "Darling, I don't want you to suffer anymore. We won't have any more children. You're enough for me."

I pushed him away and forced a bitter smile, "Don't you really want a child?"

Do you really not imagine having a baby with another woman in the future?

I wanted to ask him loudly, but I held back.

At night, I asked Edward if he had been with other women besides me.

He paused, kissed the top of my head, and said no.

I made him swear that he would be celibate and childless for the rest of his life if he had slept with anyone else. He agreed to this with great decisiveness.

I looked at his determined eyes and thought that maybe they really hadn't reached the point of sleeping together yet.

In the early morning, while Edward was asleep, I sent a message to Olivia using his phone.

[Let's have a meal together tomorrow at Full Blessing Restaurant.]

She replied almost instantly. [Aren't you going to accompany your wife tomorrow?]

It turned out that she knew Edward was married. How disgusting!

I didn't reply to her, deleted the chat record, and went back to bed.

Edward probably felt the vibrations of the bed and wanted to hold me close again, but I moved away from him, my voice filled with coldness.

"I'm hot."

Chapter 3

The next day in Full Blessing Restaurant, Edward and I sat face to face. He took out a box from his pocket.

"Honey, take a look."

I opened it and it was a heart-shaped pink diamond. It looked good but it was not suitable for me. It's too flashy. I preferred a more low-key pendant.

"It's expensive, right?"

Edward looked at me with a gentle smile, "Honey, as long as you like it, it's worth it, no matter how expensive it is."

Unexpectedly, at this moment, a hand reached out from behind me and took the necklace. "Edward, is this the one you bought at the auction? It's really beautiful."

I knew Olivia was here.

Edward saw her and frowned immediately. "What are you doing here?"

Olivia seemed to be the hostess, pulling out the necklace. "It's so beautiful, Edward! I'm so jealous of your wife for having such a wonderful husband as you."

I leaned back in my chair and looked at Edward's out-of-control gaze with calmness, a smile playing at the corners of my mouth. "Dear, won't you introduce her?"

Olivia took the initiative to shake hands with me. "I'm Olivia, Edward's secretary and childhood friend."

She smiled brightly, but her eyes were full of hostility. I hooked my lips and quietly looked at her.

She's very young, and the necklace probably suits her better than me.

"Olivia, stop messing around. Have you finished dealing with the company's affairs?"

Edward stood up, wanting to pull her away.

But I held her hand, and unexpectedly, as soon as our hands touched, the tableware started shaking.

No good, there's an earthquake.

Chapter 4

In an instant, the table cracked, and the floor kept shaking.

The crowd started to scatter. Olivia grabbed my hand and wouldn't let go. I was pulled down by her and trampled by several people.

"Edward, don't worry about her, let's run." Olivia's voice was sharp. Edward wanted to come over and pull me, but at this moment, the chandelier above our heads fell down. Edward was separated from us.

In this way, Olivia and I were pressed under the same piece of rock, with me underneath her.

When I woke up again, the rescue workers were asking Edward to make choices.

"Choose one from them."

I was pressed at the bottom and could only barely breathe. My throat was extremely dry, and I couldn't speak at all.

It was a matter of life and death. Olivia stopped pretending and started crying loudly, "Edward, I'm pregnant with your child, it's been a month already. You can't kill your own child."

It was only then that I realized that he wasn't just emotionally cheating. He was truly disgusting.

Edward looked at Olivia in shock, unable to make a decision for a long time. Someone started urging him.

Edward, who was usually mature and composed, seemed to have changed into a different person. He began to get angry and shouted.

"Edward, please save me. I'm only 20 years old, and I'm pregnant with your child. You can't not choose me."

Edward lowered his head as if he was in extreme turmoil.

"Come on, hurry up and make a decision before your wife is gone."

Because at that moment, I was being pressed under a stone and couldn't breathe properly.

Edward suddenly raised his head, his eyes filled with crimson, tears falling from the corners of his eyes, and his voice choked. "The child is innocent..."

I forced a smile, knowing that he had chosen to give up on me.

I closed my eyes, feeling the weight of the stones on my body increasing.

All I could hear was Edward's choked voice. "Ava, you know that my father's last will was to have a grandson.

"Don't worry, I'll come find you as soon as the baby is born."

He said it was okay even if we had no child.

Now it seemed that I was the one who forced him to compromise.

But fortunately, I was lucky.

The siren sounded, and the firefighters brought the latest equipment.

"Both can be saved, hurry and move away."

That was how I survived.

But I was completely done with Edward. I was extremely disappointed in him.
