Lucas is such a bad actor.
If it weren't for his pointed words, I might have thought Whisky's death was really an accident.
But now my gaze gradually turned cold.
"Lucas, I told you that whiskey is my bottom line. Anyone who dares to touch whiskey will not end well."
Lucas was stunned for a moment, then suddenly frowned and stared at me in disbelief.
"What do you mean by that?"
"Honey, you don't think I drowned Whisky, do you?"
Lucas forced a few tears out.
"God knows what's going on. Whisky is a kitten that we both raised together. He's like my own child. How could I be so cruel?"
He looked at me with red eyes, "Even if I'm a gold-digger, you can't blame me for everything, right?"
Even raised his hands and swore to the sky.
"If Whisky really died because of me, I will be struck by lightning and die a miserable death!"
I just felt my heart go cold and I sat on the sofa holding Whisky's body without saying a word.
I want to see what tricks he is playing.
Sure enough, half an hour later, Lucas invited a fortune teller from outside the villa.
"Wife, I just saw this master standing at the door and watching. Seeing his immortal appearance, I let him in."
The fortune teller stroked his beard and looked around my villa.
As expected, he looked serious and made a pretentious evaluation.
"Sylvia, your villa is unlucky and has bad feng shui. There will be a bloody disaster in the near future."
I lowered my head and smiled, pretending to cooperate and asked:
"Oh? Master, how do you think that should be resolved?"
The fortune teller immediately followed my words and said, "We need to get rid of this villa as soon as possible, or give it away, preferably to a blessed woman so that the problem can be easily resolved."
Before I could ask, his eyes fell on Sophia who was standing nearby.
"This blessed woman is far away in the sky and yet close at hand."
"Sylvia must take this seriously. After all, money is only a thing outside of one's body. Only by giving away this villa can the disaster be resolved."
I couldn't help but sneer in my heart. Even a blind person could see what they were planning.
"Master, since you are so powerful, I wonder if you have calculated what disasters you have encountered recently?"
The fortune teller was stunned and pointed at himself, "Me? What disaster can I have?"
"You are so powerful, didn't you expect that you would suffer a bloody disaster?"
I clapped my hands and gave orders to the bodyguard with a cold face.
"He's a swindler. Drag him out, beat him up, and call the police."
Soon, the fortune teller's screams were heard outside the yard.
Lucas was furious. "Sylvia, how can you be so arrogant? He's a fortune teller with a third eye. How can you just hit him like that? Are you going to die?"
I turned around and stared at him coldly.
"Lucas, do you remember what my biggest intolerance is?"
Lucas' face turned pale, and he hesitated to speak: "It's... cheating."
"The thing you can't tolerate the most is being cheated, but honey, I didn't lie to you."
I sneered, "You know it well."
I was too lazy to argue with him anymore, but unexpectedly, as soon as I reached the second floor, Sophia blocked my way.
Sophia deliberately showed off a handful of cat hair to me.
"Sister-in-law, your cat is dead anyway, and I thought the cat fur was pretty nice, so I made a pair of fur socks. It will keep you warm in winter."
Sophia deliberately took the socks made of Whisky's cat hair and waved them in front of me to show off.
"Sister-in-law, you don't know how strong the cat's desire to live was when it died."
"It struggled to run away, but when it saw my brother, it rubbed against his arms obediently."
"But I didn't expect that my brother would grab its head and press it into the bathtub, drowning it alive..."
As she spoke, she proudly put Whisky's fur on her feet and stepped on it to show off.
My chest heaved violently and I slapped him.
"You hit me?"
Sophia stared at me in disbelief with her eyes wide open, her face slightly pale.
"Sister-in-law, you hit me for a dead cat? My parents and my brother have never hit me since I was a child. I'm going to tell my brother and ask him to divorce you!"
She was so angry that she stamped her feet, but I didn't tolerate her bad habits at all.
He pushed her into the corner and slapped her several times.
"If you say the word 'dead cat' again, I will tear your mouth apart."
"So a life is so worthless in your eyes, Sophia. You don't deserve to be a human being."
Whisky drowned in the bathtub that day, and I was waiting for the surveillance repair results.
I didn't expect that Sophia, this idiot, would confess without being asked.
The murderers are these two beasts.
Lucas knew how important Whisky was to me, but he still deliberately provoked me just to help Sophia get my villa.
I will never forgive them in my life, and I will make them pay the price!
I buried the whiskey under the willow tree in the backyard, and when I returned to the living room, I discovered that the Renaissance pottery vase on the table was gone.
That was the birthday present my mother gave me when I turned 18.
Ever since my mother went abroad, I have always paid great attention to placing it in the most conspicuous place at the entrance.
I looked around like crazy and grabbed Lucas by the collar to interrogate him.
"Where's my Renaissance faience vase?"
Lucas explained with a twinkle in his eyes, "My wife is like this. Today, the nanny accidentally knocked over a vase while wiping it. She couldn't afford to pay so much money, so I asked her to resign."
An antique vase. Although hundreds of millions is not that expensive, it is a gift from my mother.
Has special meaning.
Seeing the strange look in Lucas' eyes, I was filled with doubts.
"Broken? Where's the evidence?"
Lucas' face turned pale and he raised his voice a notch.
"What do you mean? Don't you believe me? The vases in the house have been there for so many years. When have I ever touched your things?"
"You want evidence, right? Well, I'll show it to you right now."
Lucas pulled up a composite video from his phone.
The video is blurry, but you can see that the nanny did accidentally break the vase.
I squinted my eyes and was about to zoom in on the Renaissance pottery vase in the video when my phone was snatched away.
Lucas looked unhappy:
"I've shown you all the evidence. You should believe it now, right?"
"It's just a vase anyway. At worst I can buy you a few more of the same kind at the next auction."
Just then, Sophia came back drunk again.
Her suspenders fell off her shoulders. "Brother, have another drink with me, hahahaha..."
Lucas frowned when he saw it and took off his coat to help her put it on.
"Why did you go out drinking again?"
He sighed and picked her up by the waist, "Wife, Sophia is drunk again. I'll go take care of her."
"You've always been generous, don't think too much about it."
I turned away and the lawyer said that the divorce agreement would be ready in three days and I only needed to endure it for another three days.
The next day I went to the auction venue and was just about to see if there was anything similar to my mother's Renaissance painted pottery vase, when I turned around and saw an identical item on display at the auction venue.
"This is a blue and white porcelain from the Tang and Song dynasties, the starting bid is 100 million!"
Auction staff gave demonstrations and explanations.
But I was stunned.
That Renaissance pottery vase was missing a corner, where I accidentally broke it when I was a child.
It's exactly the same as the one my mom gave me.
My eyes immediately turned red, and I grabbed a staff member passing by and asked, "Who provided this item?"
The staff member was stunned for a moment, then pointed in a direction.
I looked over and it was Sophia.
When Sophia, who was sitting in the front row, heard the starting bid was 100 million, her eyes lit up.
"I never thought that a vase I just picked up would be so valuable. I have to go back and look for it."
Only then did I realize that during the few days she stayed at my house, she had looted a lot of things from my house and put them up for auction.
I sneered and called the police.
Half an hour later, the auction was forced to end.
The police suddenly appeared and arrested the smug Sophia.
"Someone reported you for burglary. Come with us."
Sophia turned pale and struggled madly:
"Let me go. Who is the thief? I didn't steal anything. Stop spitting insults at me!"
Seeing me walk out from behind the police, Sophia's expression became distorted, and she pointed at me and cursed:
"Sylvia, how could you call the police to arrest me? I'm not a thief at all, tell them to let me go!"
I stared at her coldly, "Sophia, I gave you a chance."
"It's you who's pushing it too far and refusing to leave."
As I watched Sophia being taken away by the police in tears, I felt a sense of satisfaction.
"Sylvia, how could you be so vicious? How could you let the police take Sophia away?"
When Lucas heard the news, he came over with red eyes and started scolding me.
In order to get Sophia out on bail as soon as possible, he actually ran to the police station with his marriage certificate and confessed it voluntarily.
"I gave all these things to Sophia. She is my sister. These are my joint property. It is not considered stealing at all."
The police called me and asked, "Sylvia, a man claiming to be your husband has come to bail out a thief. Should we release him?"
"Wait till I come over."
Two minutes later, I arrived at the police station and threw out a divorce agreement.
"Sign it and get out of here."
Lucas stared at the document in amazement, his hands were shaking, and his eyes immediately turned red.
"Wife, you want to divorce me just because of an antique vase?"
"Let them laugh at us in front of outsiders."
"No, I won't leave!"
Lucas tore the divorce agreement into pieces.
"Comrade police officer, we haven't divorced yet, so these are indeed our joint property."
In principle, this is indeed the case, and the police had no choice but to release the person.
Sophia was taught a lesson at the police station and then taken back by Lucas.
But I didn't expect that as soon as I returned to the villa, I saw Lucas' parents.
He even brought his parents-in-law back from the countryside.
As soon as they saw me, the two elders looked at me coldly and started to criticize me.
"Sylvia, you are married into our family, so you are a member of our family. Although Sophia is an adopted daughter, she is the apple of our eye. She has everything she wants. It is said that an elder sister-in-law is like a mother. How can you be so stingy?"
