Chapter 2

SHRANAIA’S POV

As I entered the school, I saw Jenny, who was welcoming me. When She got close to me, She then gave me a letter that made me frown. “What is it for?” I to ask her.

“Adriane said it was for you,” she said.

“What should I do with this letter?” I ask again.

“Don’t you read?” she answered with an annoyed face.

I just sighed, then threw it away. Jenny and I started walking, when we got to the classroom, I saw that my table was full of flowers and it was a mess in my eyes. I just winced and then looked at them. No one spoke, and everyone seemed happy and excited about what was happening, while I was annoyed and irritated. I removed it all. I don't care if they say stupid things to me because it doesn’t matter at all. I sat down, then I put down my book, and I heard Krisha talking about me.

“Tsk. You’re the one who gives flowers, you’re still the angry one. You must be thankful because many people like you,” shrewish she said, and I looked at her.

I took a flower that I had already thrown, then I gave it to her, which made everyone shock. “You want it?” I ask her. “If you want it, then have it,” I added as I put it on her desk.

I returned to my chair, then took out my book as well as the notebook. Our teacher has arrived, and Krisha can’t even say a word to me, but I don't care about her because she’s just trash and a troublemaker who doesn’t know how to stop herself to interfere with others. She’s also a feeler because she thinks everyone likes her even though no one likes her.

“Okay, class. In our discussions yesterday, let’s see who remembered and who didn’t. Later I will have a short quiz for you,” said our teacher, and then I adjusted my seat.

Ma’am started discussing until Krisha and I were the only ones to answer her questions, and the others were surprised, even our teacher. But I don't care what they're thinking, and I honestly don't know why Krisha seems to be competing with me. Is she have a mental illness?

“Ok, this is the last question. The first to answer is the winner. What is the name of the city---”

Even before Ma'am finished her question, I immediately answered. “Polis.”

“Damn it!” Krisha said irritated, and then I grinned at her. I sat down, then Jenny looked at me.

“What’s going on?” she asked me.

“I also do not know. She is competing with me, I don’t fcvking know why,” I said angrily, then looked at Krisha.

I took a piece of paper, then just focused on our quiz. Actually, there are many people who are annoyed with her, and I am one of them, but the annoying thing is that we are both raising our grades while the others don’t care about us. But in everything, Krisha always comes second, and she can’t beat me, something that makes her even more frustrated. After the quiz, I got a perfect score, and Krisha got one wrong, so I’m still better than her. I just grinned at her, when the class was over, Jenny and I thought about going to the canteen.

“Ok, get one-half sheet of paper, one to twenty.”

“There are many people who like you, but why does not one of them you didn’t like?” Jenny asked suddenly, and I didn’t look at her.

When we got down at the canteen, I saw Eron, he was standing at the entrance of the canteen, and he greeted me. I stopped walking when I saw him. I don’t like it when Eron is there, as his presence either. I felt like he knew that we would go here, so he get here first to see me, and keep pestering me.

“Go back,” I said, then she frowned.

“Huh? You won’t buy anymore?” she wondered.

“No,” I said, and then we both climbed up.

We hadn’t even taken a step when suddenly Krisha was there with both arms crossed while raising her eyebrows at us. “I could be higher than you if I want to. But I didn’t do it because I knew you might cry,” she teased.

I laughed, and then I looked into her eyes. “Well, what do I care if you will gonna higher than me? Why should I cry? Are you gold? Are you important?” I said with confidence.

She couldn’t speak to me, then I looked behind me, and I was surprised to see that Eron was right behind me. He's so near to me. “Gosh Eron!” Jenny said in shock.

“Hi Baby,” he greeted me.

“You’re disgusting shit,” I said irritably.

He came closer to me, and I stepped back a little, and Jenny immediately supported me. “Why do I need to be disgusted? You know that only you are my fantasy,” he whispered, which irritated me.

I pushed him a little, and then I turned away from him. From in front of me, I pulled Krisha, then I pushed her to Eran after that, Jenny and I left them. I heard Krisha endure the pain when I pushed her, and I knew Eran pushed her because he didn't like it, which made me laugh. Jenny just kept up with me and didn’t complain about what I did. When we both got back, we just sat in our seats, then I took my book and just read. After class, we decided to go to a cafe where we often hang out, even after school.

While we were walking, I felt like someone was following me, and I couldn’t understand why it seemed to keep coming back to my memory about my dream. I stopped when I heard howling like a dog and when I turned around, I didn't see any dog around, and I didn’t see anything strange either. I don’t know if I’m just imagining it or if it really exists maybe, It was able to hide quickly.

“What’s up?” Jenny asked, and I just shook my head at her.

“Nothing,” I answered, and we continued walking.

Chapter 3

SHRANAIA’S POV

After a few days passed, Jenny and I were preparing for the upcoming exam. It’s the second grading, and we have to study hard because we don’t want to lose our rank, and we don’t have any other opponent other than Krisha. I told Jenny to raise Krisha’s grade. That she needs to be considerate because I don’t want her to be top two in this grading. Since our second year, she has been the second rank. She wants to hold that rank. The only case is that I want her to drop more than before.

“Math equations are difficult. How could I raise my rank more than Krisha? Shranaia I’m stupid ok? I’m not as smart as you, please,” she complained, but I glared at her, and she straightened up while I was holding the pen.

“If you don’t raise your rank than her, I could buy the album you want. I know that It’s now on sale. I know your allowance won’t be enough to buy that, but if you can surpass Krisha. I’ll buy you,” I teased her, and then she focused on the reviewer.

We are now in the library. We are mornings, and it’s not forbidden to hang out in the library after class, so even if Jenny and I spend the day here, we never get tired of staying here. Except for Jenny, who is always asleep whenever we both do an advanced reading.

“Shrania.” I turned to the person who called me and frowned when I didn’t see anyone except the other student who was at another table.

“Did you hear that?” I asked Jenny.

“What?” Jenny, curiously asked.

“Someone’s calling me,” I said and looked around.

“Nope. I didn’t hear anything,” she answered, then she looked at me with a frown.

We both just shrugged, and I looked at the book I was holding. While reading, I felt that someone was coming from me, so I immediately looked at it. When I saw Eran, he was smiling, and he was carrying a tulip flower.

“Hi Baby,” he greeted me, but I ignored him. “For you,” he added as he put the flowers on my table.

I still ignored him and kept my eyes on the book I am reading, and even if he sat in front of me and stared at me, I didn’t care because I was a veteran to someone staring at me. I smelled something strange, and I looked out the window, there I saw a man with a white hoodie, I immediately stood up, then ran outside, but when I looked at him, he was gone.

“Baby, who are you looking for? I’m right in front of you,” he said, then I punched his face causing his nose to bleed.

“I don’t fvcking need you,” I said, and went back inside.

I don’t understand why someone always seems to be watching me not far away, and its strange smell seems like I’ve smelled it before, but I can’t remember where and when. After we reviewed, I noticed that Jenny was serious about what she was doing, and I just shook my head because she didn't even hesitate to look back at me. She’s too busy to review just one album.

While we were walking, I was supporting her while we were walking because her eyes were focused on the book she held on to, and if she didn’t focus, she wouldn’t be able to get her album. It’s only a limited edition, that’s why I immediately ordered online, so I wouldn’t run out of stock. When we got to the house, we immediately went inside, and Jenny didn’t want to go home.

“Good afternoon, Tita,” she greeted Mommy.

“Good afternoon to you too. How’s your school?” she asked.

“Well, Shranaia promised me that she's going to buy me a new album,” she replied. “But I need to study first,” she added.

Mommy looked at me and then frowned, and I just laughed, and she did too. She prepared food on the table, and we sat down to eat. “Take it easy, you won't run out of food,” Mama said while helping Jenny to get the food.

“Studying is tiring, so I need energy,” she said, then Mommy laughed.

Jenny is hardworking, it’s just that she doesn't focus too much because she was too focused on being a fangirl. Even so, the effect of my promise on her is not bad. One more thing is that even if she doesn’t make the top 2 in this grading, I will still buy her that album. After eating, we went upstairs to go to my room, and Jenny just washed her face and reviewed again.

I soaked in the tub first, then remembered the man I saw earlier by the window. It’s like I remembered him, and it seems like I know him, but I just can’t remember where. I closed my eyes and felt my body slowly getting heavy like I wanted to sleep.

-

When I opened my mat, I saw a wolf-dog in front of me. It has a human body, but the fur and the head was like a dog. Big and tall for me. I was too stunned to speak, and I didn’t know what to do, I couldn’t move to my place.

“Soon, I’ll have a chance to touch you, Shranaia. It won’t take long for you to become a full-fledged wolf. You will be mine, and no one can claim you but me.” He held my face and gradually brought his face closer to mine.

-

“SHRANAIA!!!” I got up and looked around.

I immediately took a breath, then coughed because I was submerged in water. I stood up and opened the door, then I looked at Jenny, who was worried about me. I immediately hugged her, and I became weak for unknown reasons to me. I felt like I was running away from something that I didn’t know what was that, and at that moment, I immediately breathed a sigh of relief.

“What happened? Are you ok? Tell me,” she said while parting my hair and looking into my eyes.

“I-I’m fine... I-I just had a nightmare,” I replied, and then she hugged me.

I almost drowned because of that. I looked in the mirror and saw fear in my eyes. After that, I got dressed, then we decided to go to sleep. I’m trying to forget my dream, but what that creature said was replaying over and over again in my brain, and I felt like I’m going crazy.

“I’m a werewolf?” I wondered, ask myself.

Chapter 4

SHRANAIA’S POV

I had a good night’s sleep and didn’t even think about what had happened the previous day when I woke up. When we arrived at the school, I looked at the students who had gathered because new teachers had recently moved to our campus. I have no idea who they are, but rumors have it that they are well-known at other colleges as well. I was merely going back when Jenny looked at me and seemed that she want us to go with what they were looking at. I was just surprised when she suddenly pulled me, and I didn’t do anything but go with her.

When we arrived, I noticed a man right away whose face felt familiar to me; I’m not sure if we both looked at each other or if it was just in my imagination. But Jenny’s smile returned when she saw attractive men again. I simply held my breath as the shouts of the women around made me completely deaf.

“They are so handsome, you wouldn’t believe it, could you?” asked the eighth-grader.

“Yes, you are correct. Right then, I want to marry that guy!” She points toward the male I was earlier making eye contact with.

I covered my nose because I smelled something odd. Even though it smells fine, I don’t like how it affects me. You become nauseated when it smells too strongly. After leaving the gathering of girls, I sat to one side and waited for Jenny to emerge. A man sat down next to me as I waited, and I couldn’t help but stare at him.

“Hi,” he greeted me.

I scowled at him and experienced a weird feeling of weight and nervousness. I also said, “Hello,” to him.

“I’m a new student here, I got lost looking for my next lesson,” he said, then scratched his neck.

“Where is your next class?” I asked.

“In the third building on the third level, but I don’t know where the third building is,” I looked at the other building after he stated.

"That’s the third building; just look for the room number,” I informed him. He nodded and smiled at me.

“Thank you!” he smiled broadly before waving off.

I also waved and, of course, smiled at him. It's too bad I didn’t smile at him. Jenny eventually appeared with a big smile on her lips. I just rolled my eyes and invited her to come in because our class was about to begin. We entered just as we were about to catch up with a teacher. I immediately came to a halt, then motioned for him to go first, and he simply nodded and thanked me. His strange smile makes me stir up, and I gasped when Jenny abruptly tapped my shoulder.

“He’s one of the new teachers!” she exclaimed, and she seemed tickling.

I just walked in, she followed, and we sat down. He is said to be the substitute teacher today because our teacher is not present. I noticed his constant glances at me while he was discussing, and the strange smell I smelled earlier was still in the room. I immediately covered my nose because the smell made me feel sick.

“Why are you covering your nose? Do I stink?” Jenny asked abruptly, and I shook my head at her.

It was smelling around, and I knew she didn’t smell the same thing I did. Apart from that, this is something I’ve been wondering about for a long time because I smelled something that others didn’t, and it’s not insignificant that I see more clearly than others. But, even if I sometimes ignore it, that thing doesn’t bother me.

“What did you smell?” she was curious. Her eyes widened, and she pointed to my nose when she looked at me. “Your nose is bleeding!” she said as our teacher was looking at me.

I examined my hand and noticed that it was stained with blood. That’s why I smell a fishy unpleasant smell. I immediately stood up and apologized, but also Jenny followed me and gave me a tissue. When we arrived at the clinic, the nurse handed me a tissue, which I accepted.

“Why did you have a nosebleed?” the nurse inquired.

“I’m not sure either,” I answered.

“Didn’t you say you smelled something earlier? Maybe that’s why?” Jenny inquired.

‘What did you smell that set off your nose?” inquired the nurse.

“Something that smelled musty,” I said, and she nodded.

“The scent of perfume is bad for your nose. When you smell something like that, you should stay away so your nose doesn't trigger it and made you bleed,” she said, and I nodded.

I’m not sure how long Jenny and I stayed at the clinic until that representative teacher’s class ended. When we returned to the room, my classmates asked if I was okay or if I wasn’t feeling well, but I went in anyway. I shook my head at them before turning to face Jenny.

“Don’t use strong perfumes because she can smell them, and it triggers her nose, causing her to bleed,” Jenny advised.

“Woah, you are allergic to perfume?” Sam questioned.

“Yes,” I replied.

“I had no idea you had one?” Joel stated.

“You don’t need to know,” I replied, and he and Jenny exchanged glances before Jenny burst out laughing.

“Whoa!!! Boom!” she said, and I rolled my eyes.

When the next class began, I couldn’t smell the strange perfume anymore, and when the class ended, Jenny inquired about it and what kind of perfume it was. I told her I had earlier smelled the teacher’s perfume. She looked at me, frowned, and realized what perfume I was talking about.

“Does that have a red rose scent?” she wondered.

“Yes, but a brave one,” I replied.

“But I only smelled it up close,” she said, but then I shook my head.

“I don’t care as long as it stinks to me,” I said, and we walked home.

Today is Friday, and we had no intention of picking us up with our drivers. When I arrived home, Mommy and Daddy greeted me, while Jenny said goodbyes to them. I took a deep breath and sat besides Daddy.

“How’s school?” asked Daddy.

“It’s fine. Although our new teacher's perfume had a negative impact on me,” I said, and Mommy frowned.

“Teacher?” she inquires.

“Yes,” I replied.

Their faces were surprised, but I didn’t bother because I was already hungry. Another thing is that I was tired earlier in our tests, and luckily, one of our subjects was absent, so the headache didn’t bother me this day.
