Chapter 2

When Bruce came back, he carried a lot of bags in his hand.

Bruce and Jenny walked in one after another with a smile.

There was only a Chanel bag on Jenny's shoulder, and the weight of everything was on Bruce.

When she entered the room and saw me on the sofa, her red lips curled into a smile.

"Celia, your boyfriend is not bad. He's qualified. I'll try not to make things difficult for him when we play games before you two getting married."

It was a hot day, but there was no sweat on her body.

Bruce took the bag from her shoulder so naturally and hung it at the door.

Then, he took out Jenny's slippers from the shoe cabinet and placed them in front of her.

"Of course, I'm the best boyfriend. Otherwise, how could I win my sweetie's heart?"

When he turned his head and saw his dad, his face darkened.

"Dad, if you came down a little later, my shoulder would have been broken."

When Bruce's mom saw his expression, she stopped in her tracks.

She could only explain with a smile, "It's my fault. I answered the phone late, and your father was helping me in the kitchen."

In order to ease the atmosphere, she took the initiative to ask Bruce, "By the way, have you arranged everything for Celia's mom in the hospital? Celia is at home today, and there is no one there. Is everything okay?"

Originally, she wanted to change the topic to ease the mood of Bruce, but when he mentioned my mother, his face was full of impatience.

"Can't I go home without arranging it? Don't worry, I'll take care of it over there."

The atmosphere became heavy in an instant.

Hearing this, I took a deep breath to suppress my emotions.

Jenny tried to smooth things over for him.

"Auntie, uncle, don't worry. He treats Celia's mother well. He has been busy these days. Today is such a big day, but you ask this question as if you don't trust your son."

As soon as she finished speaking, Bruce's mom smiled awkwardly.

"It's my fault. When did my son make a mistake? Come on, wash your hands. It's almost time for dinner."

Bruce took Jenny to the bathroom in person.

When they came out, Jenny's face was full of smiles.

However, I was keenly aware that the lipstick on her lips had parted a little.

I couldn't help but sneer in my heart.

Bruce looked at the table and frowned instantly.

He said coldly, "Mom, Jenny is allergic to seafood. How can she eat the food you cook?"

Bruce's mom looked at me helplessly, not knowing how to explain it.

Moments later, before Bruce could lose his temper, I got up and said,

"I'll make some new dishes for her."

So the four of them sat outside, because Bruce was so angry that they didn't dare to eat.

It wasn't until I brought out a few more dishes that the gloominess in his eyes dissipated a little.

Seeing this, his parents hurriedly praised.

Jenny took a bite and served Bruce some.

"It tastes good."

The dining table was almost full.

I smiled and said, "You guys eat first. I'll put away the food made by Bruce's mom so we can have them later."

Her face was full of guilt. "Sorry to trouble you. I meant to cook more so you can have more choices, but I didn't expect..."

I smiled comfortingly at her and carried the seafood into the kitchen.

I put the dishes into the refrigerator one by one.

After a while, there was a dull thud outside, and the chairs fell to the ground one by one.

One, two, three.

In the end, only Bruce was still struggling.

He used his last bit of strength to stagger to my side.

Bruce asked weakly but angrily, "What did you do? Bitch, are you crazy?"

As soon as he finished speaking, he also fell to the ground powerlessly.

Chapter 3

I picked up the knife in the kitchen and walked out with a cold face full of hatred.

I stopped in front of Bruce's mom and dad.

I raised my hand high.

Blood splattered all over my face the moment I landed.

They deserved it.

After confirming that they were not breathing, I walked slowly to Jenny.

Her skin turned abnormally pink after taking the medicine.

Looking at Jenny, my heart was filled with hatred that I almost lost control of.

How could the accomplice of a murderer live so well?

Tears welled up in my eyes and I raised my hand high.

The next second, her legs left her torso.

The bright red blood spurted out a distance of ten meters, like the most beautiful picture.

Finally, I stopped in front of Bruce.

I had loved this man for ten years, but now I felt nothing but disgust and hatred when I looked at him!

The tip of my knife landed on his hands and feet, leaving an indelible mark on his cheek.

I scratched his shoulder all the way to his wrist.

But it was still not enough.

I wanted to break his chest and see what his heart was made of.

But I didn't have much time.

When the door opened, the neighbor quickly called the police.

I could only try my best to leave traces of sin on him.

Then, I poured myself a glass of water with trembling hands.

I felt thirsty. I had always been thirsty.

But I could not drink water.

Drinking water would only speed up my death.

But it didn't matter now.

At this moment, the police were gathering in the living room to collect evidence. The neighbors outside looked at me through the crack in the door.

I heard some curses.

"I saw her mother-in-law buying vegetables for her in the morning, and she died at noon. Isn't she mad?"

"What have they done wrong? They treated her so well, but the whole family died without an intact body. Only his son is struggling but he might not survive."

Hearing this, the police officers at the door looked at me with eyes that seemed to be coated with poison.

After walking around the room, the leading policeman turned his head and ordered, "Go and check the family information of the suspect. I heard that only her mother is hospitalized. Maybe she knows something."

As soon as he finished speaking, I was lifted up, handcuffed, and got into the police car.

After arriving at the police station, the people sent to the hospital to investigate also came back.

Clearly, he had only received news of my mother's death.

The police officer in charge opened the door of the interrogation room with a serious expression.

"What motive do you have for killing? Why did you do that?"

Hearing his question, I looked up in a daze.

Did we really need a reason to kill someone?

Then why didn't Bruce have a reason?

My consciousness was a little blurry, and my abdomen suddenly ached.

Cold sweat broke out on my forehead in an instant. I gritted my teeth and said, "I will tell you everything, but I must see Bruce first!"

Seeing that I was in a bad state, he frowned and said warily, "Don't play tricks in front of us. It's just a matter of time before we find out your motive. I advise you to cooperate. Maybe your sentence can be reduced."

Hearing this, the person next to him said angrily, "Bro, you don't have to tell these to a murderer. How can such a person understand your kindness?"

The leader stared at my twisted face in pain and said coldly,

"She has been with Bruce for ten years and barely quarreled with him. There must be something wrong between them."

"Do as she says."

Chapter 4

The officers glared at me angrily and left the room.

I was left alone, twitching in pain.

Mommy, are you blaming me?

I lay on the ground gently, tears mixed with sweat sliding down my nose.

Suddenly, the image of my parents appeared in front of her.

They quarreled fiercely and smashed the furniture. My dad roared in front of me.

"That girl is the same age as my daughter. Do you want me to watch her die?"

"Fine, save her, go and save her! You've now put our whole family in danger!"

My mother proposed a divorce in despair.

Then the picture changed. Bruce stood quietly beside me and said softly,

"Let me protect you in the future, okay?"

Suddenly, there was a loud noise, and the door of the interrogation room was opened from the outside.

A group of police officers rushed in and lifted me up, taking me away.

Soon, when I opened my eyes again, I was already outside the ward.

The policeman suppressed his anger and said sternly, "Look at how badly he has been injured by you. How can he talk to you like this? How can a girl be so vicious?!"

"You're the only suspect in this case. You don't have the right to ask us for anything! Find out where you are!"

Through the window of the ward, I could clearly see the test results on the instrument.

I sneered.

"Bruce is really lucky... If I had known this would happen, I would have hit him harder."

As soon as I finished speaking, the policeman next to me keenly noticed the killing intent in my voice and quickly stepped forward to block my sight.

"Behave yourself. This is not a place where you can behave atrociously!"

After a moment of stalemate, one of them said helplessly, "Bring her in. Bruce won't say if she doesn't see him."

The door of the ward slowly opened, and Bruce turned to look at us.

When his gaze fell on me, it was so vicious that it could almost kill me.

If it weren't for the nurse holding him, he would have broken free from those instruments and rushed up to kill me on the spot.

"Celia! Why the hell did you do that?!"

"My parents are so nice to you. How can you let them down?!"

Listening to his questioning, I suddenly burst out laughing.

Tears rolled down from the corners of my eyes. I laughed so hard that I was trembling all over.

"Bruce, who do you think you are to say that to me?"
