My feeling of jealousy persisted and I didn't want to face the rest of the family with that feeling. So, I stayed in my room for two days till I could stay away from Millicent no longer.

I just couldn't explain it, but I was beginning to like Millicent quite a lot and I didn't want her to get married to my brother. But it looked like they were engaged.

Ironically, Wendy who had been taking care of me didn't make me feel the way that Millicent did. But why was Millicent insistent on getting close to me? Not that I didn't like her touch, it felt like the touch of a healer and a lover.

'Who really is Millicent?' I asked Wendy when we were in my room.

Wendy looked at me oddly. 'Have you been thinking about her then?' she asked and I got the impression she was not too pleased about it.

'Well, yes!' I said. 'I have to since she is supposed to get married to my brother!' Then I blurted, 'I feel so drawn to her, like she is supposed to be marrying me and not Sylvester!'

'Please stop saying things like that and thinking about her. She is mated to your brother and like you heard me say downstairs, they were on the verge of becoming Alpha and Luna when I came to bring you back to life!'

'You said you have saved me twice now, but didn't anyone of them contribute in any way?' I asked.

'No. They just stayed around to watch and make sure I was not mutilating your body', she said then added as an afterthought. 'As though I could ever!'

'Thank you, Wendy. You are really a great witch and life saver', I said, sincerely grateful. 'You raised me single handedly to life without asking my family for anything to aid you and from what you and my Beta said, you have saved my life once before. Thanks alot'.

'I did all these because I love you, Christopher and I cannot understand your reluctance to touch me since you recovered', she said. 'You must know how fiercely I want you!'

'I cannot until I have fully regained my memories. I want to love you with the feeling strong in me. Right now, I can't feel anything for you other than gratitude and making love to you, feeling this way, will be unfair to you!' I said, wondering why I felt strongly for a pregnant female than this one who was with me often.

I decided after two days, to go downstairs to eat with the family and see Millicent again. 'I want to go down for breakfast', I told Wendy when she came into my room that morning to see if I was through with my shower.

She looked at me strangely and waved her hand round in the air and then placed it on my head and I suddenly felt different

'Oh, Sylvester, my dear brother', I said, when I got downstairs and saw him at the table. 'when I came back from the borders, I doubt I introduced this good friend of mine, Wendy?'

'Yes, you did', he said. 'Are you feeling okay?' he asked anxiously, looking puzzled.

'Never better!' I replied. 'I'm sorry, I could not come home for your engagement to Cathania, there was a lot to do at the border but I trust it all went well?' I asked, hitting Sylvester playfully on the shoulder.

Sylvester looked even more puzzled but replied, 'Oh, good!'

' I trust you. Where is she now?' I asked, taking a seat.

'She's travelled!' he said, and I wondered at his puzzlement.

'Wendy, Alpha Sylvester is my twin!' I said, by way of introduction.

I looked around. 'And who are these beautiful damsels?' I asked, looking first at Millicent and then at Samantha.'This one looks familiar!' I pointed at Millicent and she smiled.

'They are friends of the family', Sylvester replied.

'Don't tell me, you invited them because you could not wait till Cathania came home from her trip to have a female?' I joked.

'It's nothing like that!' Sylvester said. and Millicent said with some annoyance, 'I am not some random female, invited for an Alpha's pleasure and neither am I anyone's plaything, I am your mate!'

I looked at her, this one was really feisty but what she said about being my mate sank in and I felt shock, and laughed, thinking this was certainly a joke. When no one joined in, I stopped and looked at her and then at Sylvester. 'She's joking, right, Sylvester?'

Sylvester shook his head. 'I'm afraid not!' he said. 'I thought you recognized her just now!'

I was puzzled, holding on to my head, there were some vague pictures of someone that might be her with me in my head but it was not very clear and trying to force it was hurting my head. 'Are you seriously serious?' I asked looking thoughtfully at Millicent.

'I am seriously serious!' Sylvester replied smiling. He must have recalled like I did that we used the term in our childhood to show how serious we were about an issue.

'But it can't be, can't you see she's pregnant?' I asked, looking at Millicent's protruding stomach.

'That's true!' Sylvester said. 'But that doesn't stop her from being your mate!'

'Well', I said. 'Being my mate is all well, though I would have felt it if she were indeed my mate, wouldn't I? But shouldn't you be mating with the father of your pup, Millicent?' I asked, looking her straight in the eye. I felt that should be the case rather than looking for another mate.

It was as though the whole earth waited for her response, everywhere was very quiet. She was also very quiet as though turned to a stone.

'You would think that, wouldn't you?' she spoke after a while, smiling sadly at me. I waited for her to say more but she changed the topic abruptly. 'Alpha Sylvester, what have you decided about the Moonlight Pack?

'What about the Moonlight Pack?' I asked, surprised at how suddenly she switched topics.

'The pack is now under The Moon Ville Pack ...' And Sylvester went on and on about what he would have done to Blake's wife and children but Millicent pleaded on their behalf that their right and position be restored to them.

'How can you be this magnanimous?' Sylvester asked. 'I can't afford to be that lenient... and he went on and on, I couldn't keep track of.

'I am aware of that', Millicent said, and spoke of not visiting the sins of the father's on their children or some such thing.

I was impressed with her. She was really a kind person, this Millicent.

'You mean like I did with you?' Sylvester said with regret, his heart in his eyes. 'I regret every moment of that time. I am wiser now. I shall do as you have said, if that is your wish!'

'It is!' Millicent said.

'Smitten!' I heard Wendy murmur under her breath and I looked at both Millicent and Sylvester thoughtfully, there was indeed something between these two but why does it hurt that there might be?
