Chapter 9

Thea's Point of View

After aunt Joana departed, Craig's car arrived.

A smile escaped my lips as I raced out to the balcony to meet him, and as I did so, I saw him step down from his black Ford GT.

I crossed both of my hands as I rested my head and back against the door. While staring at my husband, I could not help but be puzzled as to why Aunt Joana would say anything like that.

Without my consciousness, Craig first came over to greet me. He kissed my head and then gently pinched both of my cheeks. I felt secured every time he wraps his arms around me and plants a kiss on the top of my head.

After the honeymoon, we have never have any sex interaction nor even kiss. Except the night I secretly kissed him.

Because of that, it seems as if I'm treating him unfairly.

I gulped and stared intently at his dark eyes and hurriedly gave him a kiss on the lips and then quickly looked away because I was embarrassed.

When a fire spread over my face, I turned around and marched inside. He tensed up like a tree stump just as I could feel him following me.

To my fourth step, he grabbed my arm, held it tightly, and I could see his eyes full of shock and amazement.

"What does it mean, Thea?"

I gazed at the white floor and bit my lower lip before replying, "I read on the internet that a woman should kiss and welcome her husband every time he returns home from work."

He slowly released his grip on my hand while maintaining an expression of dissatisfaction on his face.

In a fit of rage, he clamped his lips together and tightened his jaw. I raised my head to make eye contact with him. Is he becoming irritated with me because I incessantly use the term "internet"?

“Why?”

"I just thought that you— Nevermind," he didn't complete his line, and merely messed up my hair.

I removed his large hand from my long brown hair and it fell to the side. He did nothing except chuckle and placed his arm over my shoulder for the whole conversation.

While he was walking me into the kitchen, he questioned, "Have you already eaten?"

“Nope.” I walked up to him and grabbed his hand from where it had been lying on my shoulder so that I could play with it.

“Why?”

"Aunt Joana visited." As I informed him, I tugged his fingers and made them sound.

"What?!"

"Wait a minute! Ah!"

I was on the verge of losing my balance when he abruptly stopped and turned to face me.

"Why?"

"What's the matter with you?!" I got annoyed with his quick movements.

"Why is she even in this place?"

"About that... she gave me—"

I suddenly remembered Aunt Joana's instruction not to tell Craig, so I shifted my reason. "She didn't do anything more than ask how I was doing and provide some advice. I reassured her that there was nothing to worry about, and things have since been resolved."

He looked at me suspiciously but I just grinned at him and pulled his hand to sit at the table.

Fortunately, the food was already served and all we needed to do was eat. While he was silently slicing the food, I asked him. I acted like I'm interested.

"Craig, before the accident... Where am I at that time? How did the accident happen?"

He stopped slicing and turned his attention to me. While he continued to eat with his fork and knife in his hand, he chewed the meal carefully, as if he were trying to relish every bite.

After a moment of hesitation, he lets go of the knife and pork. In addition to that, he clasped both of his palms together and rested his elbow on the table.

"Even if I wanted to tell you, I'm not allowed to do so. I'm worried that you could black out during part of it, which would put you in danger. It has the potential to infuriate you."

Because I am sitting quite close to him. He took my hand and squeezed it really tightly.

Before I shared what had been occupying a significant portion of my thoughts for some time, I inhaled deeply.

"Why do I feel like you're not my lover? What gives me the impression that everyone is hiding something from me? Nobody has ever explained what really happened to me."

"Thea..."

"No... W-Why did we decide to get married? Why doesn't anybody fill me in on what's going on at the company? I simply forgot something, but I'm not naive! I'm not an idiot, and I haven't gone completely insane."

"You all are refraining me to do things like I am a disabled person. I could investigate, research, and get information too!"

Craig didn't respond but made a hostile expression.

"So, you still won't tell me, huh?" I chuckled without remorse.

When I couldn't take it, I stood up and sprinted away and up the stairs to the room.

Chapter 10

Thea's Point of View

"Thea..."

I flinched when I heard the door creak and felt the bed sink as I was covered with a blanket over me. Even though I couldn't see it, someone embraced my whole body while he was lying down next to me. I didn't move, I simply let him.

"I'm sorry."

I kept quiet not because I was still angry, but because I couldn't fathom the reason he was apologizing in the first place.

Is it because I left or do each of them have something they don't want me to know about and don't want me to find out? It came to my attention that if I questioned them, they would switch the topic.

"Please give me some more time. Trust me, I'll tell you everything," he whispered in a strained voice as he crushed his head against my body even more tightly.

"Give me a little bit more time..."

I pulled the blanket away from my body and stared at him. He is similar to a little kid who apologizes to his mother and affectionately hugs her after making a mistake.

“Promise?”

"Promise." He responded despite having sleepy eyelids.

"I have a lot of questions, but I'll hold off on asking until you're ready to answer them all. If you still don't tell me anything after I gave you a long time, expect me to figure out a means to learn what took place in the event when I got in an accident... and what's behind the past that you want to hide."

"You have my word," he assured me while maintaining a solemn expression on his face. He looked at me for a considerable amount of time before his attention was drawn to my lips.

He brought his face closer to mine and kissed me after moving in closer. His lips and his breath both brushed my left cheek. He opened my mouth for me with his tongue.

My pupils dilated, and I gave him a stern shove in the other direction before I gasped.

When I finally had a chance to take a breath, he went in for another kiss. I forcefully shut both of my eyes. This time, it seemed as though he was intentionally attempting to tease me with every motion he made with his lips.

"Open your mouth.”

I followed his instructions and because of the way my mind is working, I get the sensation that I am now inside a dream. It feels like I'm soaring.

I fell into the bed as a result of the force with which he had been kissing me. He lifted my shirt up to my chest and ran his palm over my flesh before crawling it down.

The warmth moved swiftly throughout my whole body.

When he licked the back of my neck, I let out a few muffled groans.

"Mmm. Ah."

I didn't give a damn that it was the middle of the day or the other maids could hear us, all I wanted was to release the ecstasy that was embracing my whole body.

He sucked my neck and toyed with my nipples. I elevated my right leg as my hands were on his back.

While the two of us were still lying and gasping for each other's skin, a loud ringing sound emanated from Craig's pocket.

Even though he didn't appear to care about my lusty side, he continued to toy with my chest, which aroused me more. I can feel myself oozing "down there" with his swollen soldier pushing between my legs despite the fact that he is still wearing his pants.

*bzzt* bzzt*

When it buzzed once again, he finally came to a halt.

"Craig —"

"Wait a moment."

Craig came out before I even had a chance to question him.

'Joana Gordon? Why does she feel the need to contact him?'

If she wanted anything from Craig, she could have let me know sooner and saved us both some time. I don't understand it.

As I was thinking about it, I recalled what he had said the previous day when he also received a call from an unknown person.

The phrase that he spoke on that particular day is stuck in my brain like glue.

“No need to fret; I’ll keep it a secret from her.”
