KATHERINE'S POV

I stood, watching the drama that was unfolding before my very eyes. I couldn't understand why they all decided to act as unfortunate as they were acting and then stoop so low as well. My eyes were fixed most especially on the alpha king, waiting to hear what it was he had to say but I was disappointed as my uncle immediately chided my good for nothing cousin.

"You had better keep your mouth shut, Laura! How dare you ask such a question?" He yelled at her and I could see the anger sitting pretty right on his face. It was horrible but beautiful to see as well. At least, he could see how dumb his daughter was. Having the guts to ask someone who just paid her bride price if he likes someone else is the height of foolishness.

The alpha king's hands were clasped together with his lips pursed tightly. "She didn't do anything wrong by asking? Did she?"

The question from the alpha king came as a rude shock to us all and most especially to Laura. She fixed her gaze on him, her heart thumping heavily against her chest. "So which is it? Do you like her?" I heard those questions trail from her mouth and I felt intrigued. I wanted to know more about it.

"Well, I like her but as a person, just the way I like your dad and mum and not in any way sensual. Have I answered your question?" His gaze was fixed on her and I kinda peeped deeper into the look on his face. I could decipher that he wasn't happy with her and the question she inquired of him and only decided to play along. "Does it mean something? No, it doesn't mean anything!" I scolded myself with great intensity and scurried off as quickly as I could.

Arriving at the kitchen, I saw it as empty as a graveyard, just as I wanted it to be. My eyes raced through the length and breadth of the room in search of what I could Munch on. My belly was making so much noise and I couldn't bear it any longer. Soon, I found some meal in a pot and before you could say jack Robinson, I had dished some for myself and was already munching like my life depended on it. I heard some sound from outside and the Voices sounded familiar.

"Laura and aunt Margaret!" I exclaimed and quickly found somewhere to hide. I couldn't allow myself to be seen by them while I was in the kitchen.

"Why did you have to ask Jordan that question? That was so foolish of you, Laura!" I heard my aunt Laura scold her with a sharp and firm voice that sent shivers down my spine. "Come on mum, it's not that serious. I just wanted to be sure. I still cannot comprehend why he would pay three bags of gold for an ordinary omega! It's absurd!"

"I find it strange as well and I do think he has feelings for her but you shouldn't have asked that way. To think he paid five bags of gold to have you as his mate and then, three bags of gold for that good for nothing wrench!" My aunt went on to say and I could feel the anger from her Voice. I almost burst into laughter, one that would have Landed me in trouble if I didn't manage to get myself to be calm.

"That bitch! I can't wait to be the Luna of the pack. I would teach her a great lesson that she wouldn't forget in her entire life. I can see she's really excited because she's leaving here, but what she doesn't know is that, here would become a paradise in comparison to the new place we're heading to," Laura said to her mother with so great confidence that imbibed fear in me. I should have known that a tiger wouldn't give birth to a lion. She would definitely take after her witch of a mother.

"Yes, you should really teach her a lesson so she knows she shouldn't be messing around with you or anyone else in this family. But wait, you really wanted to kill her with that knife you were holding right?" My entire attention fell on them at this point. I wanted to know if she would tell her mother the same lie she told in front of everyone or if she wouldn't. The latter happened and I was dumbfounded to see Margaret aiding her on. Yes, she was Margaret. I decided to take out 'Aunt' because only someone with a good heart and sense of thinking deserves to be called one.

"Katherine… you have to be extremely careful from now…" I gave myself a stern warning like I've never done and waited for them to leave before tracing my way out of the kitchen.

LIAM'S POV

I left where I was with my friend for the sitting room. It was empty except for a maid who was cleaning the table and clearing off the dishes. "Where did they all go?" I thundered at the young lady, irritated at how sluggish she acted.

"The Alpha and Luna decided to take Alpha Jordan on a walk through the entire pack, while ma'am Laura is in her room." The voice of the maid boomed through to me but she still hadn't said what it was I wanted to hear. I sighed in resignation, wondering why she decided to act as dumb as she cared. I couldn't understand why it was so hard for her to understand what it was I wanted.

"Katherine? Have you seen her anywhere?" I finally brought myself to ask her the question I so Badly wanted to ask. "She's cleaning ma'am Margaret's room." Upon hearing those words, a wide grin formed on my face and I didn't hesitate before heading to my mother's room where Katherine was.

I turned the doorknob and walked in immediately with an evil grin lurking at the corners of my mouth. Her eyes fell on me and I noticed her shiver at once.

"How are you doing Katherine?" I asked her, rolling my lips with ecstasy. I rubbed my palms as well as I turned the key through the lock and flung it away, where I knew she wouldn't find it easily and then slowly walked towards her.

"I heard you'll be leaving here to the pack of Alpha Jordan?"

"Yes sir. That's true. But why are you here sir?" I could feel the fright in her voice as she spoke and it kinda made me excited. "And is there any law that stops me from coming into my mother's room?" I snapped as I continued to advance towards her. Her hands were shaking by this time but I didn't give a damn. "Shout! Scream and let them know What's happening to you!" I heard a Voice in my head. It was firm and authoritative that even though I didn't want to do as it said, I couldn't help but do it. My mouth opened and out went the words, "help me! Help me! He wants to rape!" And like he was suddenly possessed by a strange spirit, Liam rose to his feet and charged right at me. He caught me with full force and landed a slap across my face, causing it to tingle. I couldn't scream anymore.

"You think you are wise right? You think you can play me? I'm going to teach you such a great lesson that you'll never forget," he threatened and pushed me onto the bed like I weighed no more than a twig. I felt my heart fly out of my chest at that very moment. "Moon goddess! You shouldn't allow him to do this to me please…" I muttered some words of prayer as I laid still. Thankfully, my eyes fell on the key just beside the wardrobe and I didn't need someone to tell me to pick it up before I picked it up. I rushed towards the door, turned the Key in the hole and dashed out as swiftly as my feet could carry me.

ALPHA' JORDAN'S POV

I was exhausted and totally uninterested in this walk of theirs but I didn't want to sound rude to them or make them feel sad in any form. I had to bear the bore all to myself, hoping they would at least notice my discomfort and pity me but none of that happened. They kept showing me places like I pleaded to be shown. I could bear it no longer as I was pretty exhausted and wanted to leave at that very moment.

"I think we should take our leave as soon as possible so we can get to my pack on time, or what do you think?" I dabbed my head in Laura's direction. She was blushing uncontrollably like the new bride she was.

"Yes. We should. It wouldn't be so nice to journey at night," she muttered in my support. I heaved a sigh of relief, wrapping my arm around her. She raised her eyes to me with a glint of affection brooding in them.

"Yes, that's right. I'll have some Omegas pack your load into the cart.. you don't have to worry about anything," Luna Margaret assured me with a wide grin, clapping her hands in ecstasy.

"Katherine! Katherine! Where did this bitch head to?" She called out in a loud voice that startled me. I tried to understand why she needed her but I couldn't. I thought to ask. "If I may ask, what do you need her for?" A frown was laced to my brows as I spoke to her. she was shocked by my question and I could see it in her eyes and the way she stared at me but I didn't give a damn.

She went on to speak anyway. "I need her to carry Laura's load to the cart so you can be on your way."

"She isn't your slave anymore or have you forgotten?" I asked sarcastically, smiling at her to lighten the air that had gone sour with my question. "You're right, but this one time Cannot cause her any harm, can it?" She threw her question at me and it dawned on me that she wasn't ready to listen to what I had to say. I was ready to make use of force if worse comes to worse.

"A deal is a deal. She wouldn't go on this errand." It was at this moment they knew I meant serious business and decided to send someone else. Laura stared at me as if to question my words but I didn't care. Katherine is mine already and they do not have the authority to even lay their hands on a strand of her hair.

Another Omega arrived and Margaret was still giving her her instructions when Katherine rushed out of the room with tears trickling down her face in large torrents. My heart flew and I knew something had happened. I wanted to ask her what the problem was, but I managed to keep my cool so as not to sound obnoxious.

"What's going on? I finally brought myself to ask when neither of them did so. They did nothing but stare at her like she was a piece of thrash. She continued to sob, fiddling with her hands non stop. Her eyes were fixated on her toes, keeping mute like she had suddenly become dumb.

I said,'' What's the problem? You should speak to me instead of keeping mute this way," I aided her with a reassuring look on my face. "Didn't you hear the Alpha's question? You shouldn't just keep mute when you're been asked an important question!" Alpha Devon yelled at her.

"Liam! He tried to rape me! He tried to rape me!" She blurted out and immediately, I felt a rush of anger in me, one that swept me off my feet as well.

"How dare the motherfucker try to rape you? Where is he? Show him to me at once?" I ordered with a burning rage, clenching my hands into a fist. I noticed the expression of shock on the faces of the trio who were family to the beast. Alpha Devon was the most surprised of all.

"Is there something you're not telling us, Alpha Jordan?"

"And what would that be?"
