The 101st Betrayal Chapter 1

I begged Fannie for 100 times. She finally agreed to go to Los Angeles with me and my father.

But even after my father passed away with regret, she still didn't show up.

However, her secretary, Evan, posted a photo of the two of them snuggling up to each other.

"Wherever I want to go, even if it is far away, she will accompany me."

Looking at the location less than two kilometers away from me, I called to question her, but she answered nonchalantly.

"I've always been like this. If you can't stand it, we can divorce."

This was the 101st time she had proposed a divorce.

This time, I didn't say no, but she regretted it.

——

I dealt with my father's funeral alone.

In just a few hours, Evan had posted countless videos.

The two of them rode horses, took photos, and went to the pub together.

Fannie, who had never updated her post, forwarded someone's post for the first time.

This could be regarded as an official announcement of their relationship.

The comments were full of cheers, saying that they were a perfect match.

I wanted to slip away, but the scene stung my heart.

They were a match. But what about me, her registered husband?

I was nothing.

After all, Fannie was willing to travel across half a country for him, but she was not willing to travel two more kilometers for me.

I begged her a hundred times, but they couldn't compare with one word from Evan.

I sent a single word to her, "Okay."

A few hours later, she called. Her tone was cold and distant.

"You always make a fuss. Can you stop?"

I was at a loss for words. Every time we quarreled, it was Fannie who proposed a divorce.

She knew that I loved her and that I couldn't bear to leave her.

Therefore, every time she was guilty, she would say coldly, "Divorce if you can't stand it."

In the past six years, I compromised a hundred times.

This was the 101st time. I don't want to compromise again.

I chose to divorce her as she wished.

I took a deep breath and said, "My father has passed away. We don't have to live like actors for the sake of his health."

After a moment of silence, she softened her tone.

"I don't know that! Wait for me. I'll go and be at your side right now."

I waited for an hour. But it suddenly rained.

As I ran to take shelter from the rain, I suddenly felt the world spinning.

A strong sense of suffocation hit me. I lost my balance and rolled down the slope. My head hit the ground heavily, and I lost consciousness.

When I woke up again, I was lying in the hospital with my head wrapped in thick gauze.

There was no one beside me.

The nurse said that I had a slight concussion due to altitude sickness and needed to stay in the hospital for two days.

For two days, I didn't see Fannie. I only saw Evan update his social media constantly.

"I got wet in the rain and caught a cold. Fortunately, she took good care of me."

"She made the chicken soup herself today. I'm so touched."

"In the past two days when I was sick, she didn't leave me for a moment. It's the best thing in my life to meet her."

I remembered that not long ago, I asked Fannie to cook a bowl of ginger soup for me in my illness.

She looked impatient.

"Edwin, I'm not those ordinary women! My hands are used to break through my career, not to wash clothes and cook for you. If you don't like it, you can divorce and find someone else!"

In fact, she was willing to do those things, but she was unwilling to do them for me.

I was in a trance.

Evan was a college student sponsored by me. After graduation, he worked as an intern in our company.

Back then, Fannie hated him very much and complained to me all day long that he was stupid.

But somehow, she had mentioned him more and more often in front of me.

She communicated less and less with me.

Until now we were like strangers.

It was Evan's greatest fortune to have met Fannie.

However, it was a life-long regret for me to have met Fannie.

I didn't want to continue. So I sent a message to Fannie, saying that I would divorce her at the City Clerk's Office after I went back.

This time, she replied very quickly.

"I have something urgent to attend to.

"Stop fooling around. Wait for me at the airport tomorrow. I'll go back with you."

I didn't continue to wait for her like a fool.

I bought a ticket and boarded the plane.

On the plane, I had a long dream.

In my dream, I was deeply in love with Fannie. Evan did not appear.

She wanted to start a business, so I gave her all my savings to support her.

She needed more support. So I resigned to take care of her.

Step by step, we moved from the rental apartment to the villa in city center and changed from an electric car to a Rolls-Royce.

She made a name for herself and our relationship was the same as ever. We used to be a loving couple in our circle.

Everything changed on the day when she had a miscarriage and I was injured in a car accident.
