Sweet Marriage with Childhood Sweetheart Chapter 1

What would you do when you woke up in the morning and there was suddenly a strange man in your room?

The instinctive reaction was to scream for help.

But I forgot that I live alone, and no one would come to save me even if I screamed until my throat hurt.

"Aah!" I hugged the blanket tightly, wrapping myself up, "Aiden Williams! You pervert!"

I opened my eyes in the morning, only to find a half-naked handsome guy standing by my bed, with wet hair. Who could handle that? Even with a super strong heart, I can't withstand this kind of test.

Maybe... I haven't woken up yet?

Let me lie down for five more minutes.

However, five minutes later, Aiden was still standing in front of me. The only difference was that the towel around his waist was loose. If I had just opened my eyes two minutes later, the towel might have fallen off. In that case, he probably wasn't wearing anything underneath. Damn, his figure was so perfect that even one more piece of clothing would be a waste of fabric.

"Aah!"

"Don't scream," Aiden covered my mouth, "Why am I in your room?"

I stared at him with wide eyes.

How... did I know?

He was asking me, but I was just as confused.

The person who drank with me last night was not him. Even if we had slept together after drinking, it shouldn't have been him. The problem was that I wasn't drunk enough to forget opening the door for him. How did he come in?

A chill ran down my spine, and I suddenly felt a little scared. I pushed him away and moved silently towards the head of the bed. "You were hiding in my house before I got home? Under the bed or in the closet? Aiden... I have nothing against you. If you want to harm me for money, you've got the wrong person!"

Aiden looked at me with a helpless expression. "Are you still drunk?"

"I wish I was!" I muttered.

This was too scary.

He was very handsome, but his good looks couldn't lessen the shock this situation was causing me.

"Did I come here while dreaming?" I began to doubt myself. "What time did I get up to open the door for you? You came to me without clothes on, even if you were catching someone cheating, you wouldn't be in such a hurry..."

The words "Catching someone cheating" broke the cold expression on Aiden's face. "I got out of the shower, opened the bathroom door, and found myself here."

I was speechless.

He might as well have knocked me out.

"I'm 26, not 3," I said, even though he was looking at me like I was a fool, but I couldn't let him get to me. I was just waking up and got scared again, so my brain wasn't working very well. "If you want me to believe you, you should at least make it sound somewhat believable.

"The place I live is 5.8 kilometers away from your house. I didn't drive. If you don't believe me, you can go to the parking lot to check. It takes 20 minutes by taxi and 1 hour by bus. I dressed like this just to deceive you. Is that reasonable?" Aiden looked down at the towel around his waist and added, "It's not about catching someone cheating."

That made sense.

A normal person wouldn't do such a stupid thing.

Aiden said, "I've explained my side, now it's your turn to explain yours."

The pressure was on me, and I started to feel nervous again. "I... I have nothing to say. I just drank a little and slept. I didn't do anything."

Damn it.

Aiden was the son of my mom's colleague. We have known each other since we were young.

He was the kind of kid that parents referred to as "the child of someone else," who skipped a year of high school and was the top scorer on paper that year. Although we met when we were still wearing diapers, we haven't seen each other much since we grew up, as I didn't get into the top high school, and we went to different universities in different cities. We only met at a reunion of our junior high school classmates.

Last month, Aiden's father celebrated his birthday, and I went to pick up my mom. I ran into Aiden at the entrance of the restaurant.

My mom said I didn't have a boyfriend yet, and Aiden's father said Aiden was single, too. The two of them hit it off immediately and wanted to set us up. My face was so stiff from smiling, and Aiden didn't say a single word.

As expected, a few days later, Aiden's father arranged a place for us to eat.

My mom kept praising Aiden in front of me every day, like a mantra, and I was under a spell, so I agreed to make time to meet him, my childhood sweetheart, who I hadn't seen for many years.

But that day, I was stood up.

I had gone from appetizers to dessert when Aiden hurriedly arrived at the restaurant. His excuse that day was as unreliable as today, saying that he had a rear-end collision on the way.

It was a huge embarrassment.

I would rather he had refused the arranged blind date, rather than insidiously stabbing me in the heart.

But sometimes fate was so strange that even though I was played by Aiden that day, I met my current fling by chance.

We had only known each other for a month, and we were still in the friend stage, so I called him "ambiguous partner".

"I swear, I really don't know what went wrong," I said. It was more important to solve the current problem first. "Do you suspect that I'm doing something supernatural?"

I suddenly lifted the blanket, knelt on the edge of the bed, and made a gun gesture with my hand towards Aiden's heart, saying, "Aiden, fall in love with me."

Aiden was speechless.

I proved my innocence. "See, I don't have any magic."

Aiden looked away. "Give me your phone. I'll call my assistant to bring me some clothes."

"Okay," I reached under the pillow and handed him the phone.

He turned away to make the call. It was then that I realized I was only wearing a revealing nightgown. Of course, I slept however I felt comfortable.

My cheeks burned, and I slipped into the bathroom to change clothes. The mirror reflected my hangover-ridden face, with my hair looking like it had been blown up.

Never mind, he never really liked me.

When I was washing up, Aiden was in the living room. Someone knocked on the door, it might be his assistant bringing the clothes.

There was no movement for a while, and I thought he was embarrassed to change clothes in the living room and was waiting for me to come out of the bathroom.

I didn't linger for too long. I took the hairdryer and prepared to dry my hair in the living room. However, the person outside the door was not Aiden's assistant, but Dean Taylor, my ambiguous partner.

In the moment when our eyes met, I lost myself.
