I went out and drove, had a leisurely breakfast downstairs in the company, bought a cup of coffee, and took a beautiful picture of the clouds. If I was in a good mood, I would put it on Instagram. After arriving at the company, I waited for about half an hour before my colleagues gradually walked to their workstations.
Everyone sat at their desks indifferently and started a busy day.
The boss called me into the office and scolded me for the plan I did yesterday.
I looked at the plan and couldn't understand why Matt could mess it up because it was so simple.
Originally, we were in the same profession, but he persuaded me to quit my job for the future of our child and to save expenses at home.
Unfortunately, his abilities made me dumbfounded.
At noon, I saw a payment notification on my phone.
A few hundred dollars was deducted directly from my payment app. I sneered and changed the password directly.
Sure enough, after I counted to three seconds in my mind, a series of urgent rings came from my phone.
"What do you mean? I'm using my own money. Are you crazy? Can you do your job? You're still begging me when you go home?"
"Change the password back for me, maybe I'll teach you how to go to work when I get home."
I listened quietly to his long speech and then calmly spoke.
"Oh? Be a good housewife."
"I, I have a cold, I want to buy medicine."
His tone finally softened, as if compromising with me.
"Living expenses, including all living costs."
My cold words seemed to break his last nerve.
After a long silence on the other end of the phone, there was a hang-up tone.
After working overtime to clean up the mess left by Matt, I sent it to the boss and realized that it was already late at night.
I went to the convenience store and bought a few bottles of chilled beer. I stopped in the underground garage and looked at the dozens of missed calls on my phone, sighing.
Sure enough, as soon as I opened the door, I heard the sound of things breaking and the house was a mess.
My son, Kimi, who was throwing things, suddenly rushed into my arms and cried, saying that his mother hadn't cooked and that his school uniform for tomorrow hadn't been washed.
On the nearby dining table, there was burnt bread, next to it were scattered takeout boxes.
Matt sat on the sofa with disheveled hair and a vacant look in his eyes.
All around were things broken by my son, and torn test papers with a rate of C.
"Is this how you usually teach our son?"
I thought that after going through such a day, he would understand my hardships, but I didn't expect him to question me right away.
"Did you wash the clothes? Did you cook? Did you clean the house? Did you heat the bathwater? Did you finish our son's homework? Did you take him to his extracurricular classes? Did you buy groceries? Did you prepare the lunchbox for tomorrow?"
"You spend your days watching TV, playing with your phone, spending money, and shopping. I don't know what you're doing all day."
"I'm already tired from working every day. Can't you understand me a little?"
Matt was stunned for a moment, and he couldn't say a word because he was choked.
I leisurely took off my socks and threw them on the sofa, then opened the beer I bought and looked at him with some speechlessness as he was about to go crazy.
He was completely angry, screaming and covering his head as he stood up.
He turned around and was about to grab my clothes.
But no one expected that his son, who was standing behind him, suddenly pushed Matt out.
Matt lost his balance and hit his forehead heavily on the coffee table in the living room.
"Bang."
It seemed that everything came to an end with this muffled sound.
I was surprised and stood up. My son suddenly rushed into my arms and hugged me, glaring at Matt, whose forehead was bleeding.
"You are not my mother! You useless thing! I only want my dad! Get out of here, I don't want you!"
The smell of disinfectant filled the air, and a careful nurse was helping Matt treat the wound on his forehead. Kimi looked at Matt with hatred in his eyes.
It seemed that he was completely unaware of his mistakes.
I touched Kimi's head without saying a word. It seemed like the first time my son had been so close to me.
After paying the fees and collecting the medicine, just as I was considering how to educate my son, I saw a crowd of people gathering around Matt.
The people around were chattering, seemingly very interested in the sudden arrival of my family.
I watched Matt perform in front of everyone.
Matt kept crying to the person next to him by using some unreasonably troublesome sentences.
When the people around me heard this, they started blaming me for not taking care of my wife at home and letting her suffer.
When Matt heard someone supporting him, he instantly became excited and started spreading rumors that I beat her at home every day and got angry for no reason.
People around me started to criticize me, and some even started to secretly take pictures of me.
I didn't say anything, but I heard a familiar voice behind me.
"Lydia?"
"Oh, Mom, why are you here?"
I pretended to be surprised and turned around, only to see the parents of "me" walking towards us, supporting each other.
Mom rushed to "me" and slapped Matt, who had exchanged bodies with me.
"We heard what you just said. How could you spread rumors about your husband? Your father fell down the stairs and you didn't even ask about it. If it weren't for Matt taking us to the hospital, I wouldn't know what to do."
"You have always liked to lie since you were a child, and you haven't changed at all. You spread rumors outside. You are our daughter. Do you think we don't know what kind of person you are?"
The people who were just mocking me suddenly fell silent, and the people who were surrounding Matt scattered instantly.
Some even looked at me with sympathy.
I watched the two of them fight each other, but my hands were getting colder and colder.
I had known for a long time that my mother didn't like me, but I didn't expect that in her eyes, I was such a person.
Finally, with my persuasion, I managed to rescue Matt from my mother.
After simply taking the medicine, we quickly returned to the car and prepared to go home.
Matt sat silently and held my hand after a while.
"I'm sorry, honey, I was wrong. I didn't know that you had been living like this before."
"I will treat you well in the future. Can we find a way to get it back together?"
I smiled and turned off my phone, affectionately touching Matt's hair.
"Okay, we will work together and get through this difficult time."
It seemed that we were really a loving couple.
A flash of light on the phone, with a message from mother written on it beside the seat we couldn't see.
"Matt! I have already taught her a lesson. You know that your father and I treat you as our son! If there is any problem next time, call us directly! We will help you teach her a lesson! If she doesn't listen, just hit her, hit her hard! The harder you hit, the more obedient she will be!"
The next one was a message from a customer with a note.
"We haven't seen you for a few days, what are you doing? I miss you. Are you coming to my house today? Our family hasn't gathered for a long time."
The night was very late, the car window was not closed, and the cold wind blew into the car.
My eyes were red, and I resisted the urge to cry.
