Chapter 1

I had been the top student the school recruited with a full scholarship, while my younger sister, Chloe Stevens, had gotten in through money despite being a poor performer.

In my past life, during the college entrance exams, Chloe, who had always ranked at the bottom, suddenly made a miraculous turnaround and got into Royalton College, just like I did.

Right after that, she marched straight to the admissions office and reported me, claiming that I had copied all my answers from her.

That was impossible. I had a score above 1480 on every single test. The admissions office and teachers did not believe her either.

Then, Chloe accused me of using some kind of black magic, saying that whatever answer she wrote down, I would somehow know and copy it.

The admissions office made us retake the exam, and somehow every single one of our answers came out identical. I could not defend myself, got arrested by the police, and spent the rest of my life rotting in prison.

After being reborn, I studied harder than ever and secured an early admission to Royalton College.

Now, sitting in the exam room, I deliberately scored zero on every single test. I wanted to see just how many points Chloe could get without me.

I woke up to the noisy chatter of the classroom, rubbing my eyes to see something written on the blackboard: [100 Days Until Finals].

I was shocked, wondering if I had actually been reborn. I looked around and noticed everyone was staring at their report cards.

Someone exclaimed, "Could Chloe Stevens actually be a genius? Her grades improved so quickly in just a few days!"

"This time, Chloe and Sienna Stevens are tied for first place in the whole school! That's not just improvement; that's like her taking a rocket ship to the top!"

Another chimed in, saying, "Exactly! How did she do it? How did she suddenly get this good?

"Sienna's her older sister... There's no way she copied her answers, right?"

...

Chloe glanced at the person who suggested she had cheated, then looked over at me.

She raised her head proudly and said, "Oh, please, I'm just good at pacing myself. Sienna works so hard, and I don't want to crush her motivation, so I've been hiding my true abilities this whole time. But now that we're at the mock exams, of course, I have to show my true level."

Right then, our homeroom teacher clapped her hands to get everyone's attention. "Settle down, everyone. Chloe's rapid improvement shows she's been working hard, so instead of just being jealous, you should all try to follow her example!"

The other students quieted down and went back to studying. However, my mind was anything but calm.

In my past life, after the college entrance exam scores came out, Chloe's grades had skyrocketed, and she had scored the same as I did to get into Royalton College. I had been happy for her at the time, but then she immediately turned around and reported me to the admissions office, claiming I had cheated off her.

I was not the only one stunned by the claim. The teachers and the admissions office were equally taken aback, too.

We had not even been in the same room for the test, so there was no way I could have cheated.

Later, Chloe requested that the admissions office compare both our test papers. Sure enough, every single answer on every single subject was identical.

The situation blew up, and the media went into a frenzy, reporting that someone had dared to cheat on such an important exam.

To be absolutely certain, the College Board had us retake the entire exam with new test papers. Once again, every answer came out identical.

With no way to defend myself, I was arrested and sent to prison. I begged my parents to save me, to help me find the truth. Instead, they called me rotten to the core and said they were cutting me off for good.

They threw Chloe a huge graduation party while my life fell apart. That was when it finally hit me: if Chloe's grades were really that good, she never would have needed to buy her way into our school in the first place.

However, I could not figure out how she had pulled it off.

My parents had always favored Chloe, and it was only right before the college entrance exam that their attitude toward me suddenly changed, showering me with all the best food and care.

I had been so touched at the time, but looking back, it all had to be connected somehow.

I hated them, and I could not let it go, so in the end, I took my life in prison.

Since fate had given me a second chance, I swore I would make sure Chloe paid for everything she had done.

Chapter 2

That evening, when I got home, I went straight to my room to keep studying while Chloe lounged in the living room playing video games. That only strengthened my suspicion, because how could someone who never studied suddenly improve so dramatically?

Hence, the real question was how she was actually doing it.

Chloe suddenly barged into my room with a smug look on her face. "You should just focus on studying and stop overthinking things. After all, you're not that smart, and you're not pretty either. So, working hard is the only realistic option for you."

Something clicked in my mind: Chloe could hear my thoughts.

So, I immediately forced myself to think as loudly as I could.

'Gosh! Why is Chloe so smart while I'm so dumb?'

Chloe's smile grew even wider as she said, "Because when our parents had me, they gave me your share of the brains when I was born!"

It had been the same in my past life. Even when I did not say anything out loud, she would react to whatever I was thinking.

I had never thought much of it before, just assuming that living together every day meant we had somehow become in sync, even though we did not get along.

Looking back, she must have been standing too close to tell which thoughts I actually meant versus just thinking.

When I was little, I lived with our grandmother, and I learned a bit of a foreign dialect. However, Chloe had always lived with our parents, so she did not know it.

So, I cursed at her in that foreign dialect. There was no way she could suddenly understand it now.

'I hope you get a zero on the college entrance exam!'

"What?"

As expected, she did not understand a word. However, she immediately ran off to complain to our mother.

"Mom! Look at her; she's speaking some weird dialect at home! It's so lame! I don't want a sister like her!"

Our mom had been cooking in the kitchen, and when she heard that, she rushed over. "Why are you speaking in that dialect? Only country bumpkins do that! You should be speaking properly!"

I nodded obediently.

Seeing how cooperative I was, our mom suddenly seemed to remember that during this period, she was supposed to be nice to me.

She softened her tone and said, "I'm making clam chowder in the kitchen. It's very nutritious! You're going to be living in the big city someday, and if you keep speaking in that dialect, your classmates will make fun of you. I'm just looking out for you."

Chloe pouted. "Mom! You're playing favorites! Don't I get any clam chowder?"

Our mom quickly reassured her, saying, "Of course you do! When have I ever left you out?"

Despite that, Chloe was still not happy. After all, in the past, anything good in the house had always gone to her alone. Since she had to share with me, of course, she was upset.

When I was little, our parents had gone out to work and dumped me at our grandmother's house. They always said that once things got better, they would come back for me and take me to the city.

I had spent every single day desperately waiting for them to come home. Instead, they returned with a little girl, claiming she was my baby sister.

They felt like they had missed out on raising me and had failed as parents, so they had just had another kid. All the guilt they felt about me, they poured into spoiling Chloe instead.

Right then, Chloe held up her report card. "Mom! Look how well I did this time!"

Mom glanced at the grades and was over the moon. "Chloe, you're amazing!"

I had always been first in my class, but she had never once told me I was amazing. I shot them both a cold look and swore to myself that I would not let them get away with it.

I would get out of here and never come back.

Chapter 3

Soon, it was the second round of mock exams.

Chloe and I were seated next to each other. During the test, she kept shooting me looks that were full of provocation and contempt.

I could not help but wonder if she was actually some kind of genius and had learned that foreign dialect overnight.

'You're a huge idiot who's going to score zeros on every test!' I cursed at her again, but Chloe just blinked without saying a word.

Knowing her personality, if I insulted her, she would definitely fire back. So, that meant she still did not understand the foreign dialect.

Then, what was she acting so smug about? I had worried for nothing!

During the second mock exam, I was on high alert. I figured that no matter the physical or sneaky tricks she tried, there was no way she could copy my answers.

However, to my surprise, the moment I finished the last question and put down my pen, she finished at exactly the same time.

It had to be psychological, just my imagination playing tricks on me.

That evening, when I got home, our mom asked Chloe how the test went.

Chloe gave me a meaningful look, then said, "Amazing, of course!"

My heart sank right then and there.

Our mom glanced at me, and her face immediately darkened. "What's wrong, Sienna? You should have done well, too, right? So, why the long face? Are you actually upset that Chloe did well? You really are an ungrateful brat!"

I ignored them and went back to my room to keep studying.

The next day, the results came out.

Sure enough, Chloe's scores were identical to mine.

"That's incredible! The Stevens sisters really are amazing! Both of their scores are so good!"

"Yeah! Chloe, how did you improve so much? You've got to teach us your secret!"

...

Chloe answered impatiently, "I already told you that I was just hiding my abilities before. Now that the college entrance exam is coming up, of course, I have to show my real talent."

I felt suffocated with frustration. The only person in the family who understood our grandmother's foreign dialect was our mom, so she must have taught Chloe!

How could someone be that biased?

Thankfully, during lunch break, our teacher, Ms. Grace Miller, told me that my grades qualified me for early admission to Royalton College.

In my past life, I had the same opportunity, but Chloe rejected it on my behalf while I was not around.

Ms. Miller was confused about why I would turn down such a great opportunity.

When we got home, Chloe immediately tattled on me. "Mom! Dad! Sienna wasn't studying at school. She was on her phone the whole time!"

Our dad grabbed his belt, ready to hit me. "You useless brat! The college entrance exam is almost here, and you're not studying. What do you think you are doing?"

Our mom came over and twisted my ear. "You ungrateful brat! I've been feeding you all that expensive food, and you dare slack off? If you don't get into college, I'm marrying you off to some old man back where your grandma lives!"

Tears streamed down my face as I finally accepted that my parents would never change. "Fine! I'll study. I'll definitely get into Royalton College."

Chloe wanted to copy my answers, right? I would make sure to give her exactly what she wanted.
