Chapter 1

Bullied by classmates and called a loser by my mother.

In desperation, I committed suicide due to depression.

My father, Richard Arnouts, helped me to take a leave of absence from campus, but the three of my uncles opposed it.

"You guys are spoiling her, that's why she's so pretentious."

"Just hang her upside down to the balcony and starve her for three days and nights!"

I desperately begged for mercy, but my family ignored me.

My mother's words "It's all for your own good" explained everything.

I was finally relieved when I was lying on the ground injured, I could not take care of my younger brother, who was burned and disfigured.

"Mom, if I die, I'm no longer a loser, right?"

——

"Dad, Mom, I'm dying, please put me down ..."

The feeling of hanging upside down was so uncomfortable. My brain was congested, my eyes hurt so much and I felt like I was suffocating.

"Did you hear that? I've already started begging for mercy."

"Depression and suicidal thoughts are all bullshit!"

My uncles drank and laughed, completely ignoring my pleas for mercy.

"You guys are spoiling her, that's why she's so pretentious."

"Hang her upside down on the balcony now. We must not be lenient. We must hang her for at least three days and nights."

My father had a worried expression on his face and furrowed his brows.

"Will this ... be dangerous?"

My mother, Darlene Leander, waved her hand dismissively.

"They are all experienced. You have to listen to the experts."

My first uncle, Damian Leander, chuckled.

"As the head of university discipline, I have seen too many students who tell lies and often say they are depressed just to avoid going to school. How can there be so many pretentious ones?"

My second uncle, Daniel Leander, also nodded.

"That's right! I've done tests in the hospital's psychiatric department and as an individual, everyone has mental problems, either depression or anxiety. As the old saying goes, if you don't plan for the future, you'll have immediate worries. Isn't this normal?"

My third uncle, Darren Leander, leisurely let out a puff of smoke.

"You guys have to learn from me. My son refused to go to school last year, so I broke his legs. He's been well-behaved now. And my daughter ran away from home. She was caught and beaten and she's been well-behaved too now. You are just too spoiled and concerned about your children. If you do that, they will just ride on your heads and shit on you!"

Hearing the words of the three of them, my father breathed a slight sigh of relief.

Damian then pointed at me with a serious expression.

"These three days, no food, no water! You can only let her go if she asks to go to campus!"

"She's already in college, yet she's still so sentimental! If you don't have mercy on her, you'll ruin her life!"

Darlene nodded at the words.

"I see. I'm fine. It's just that Richard always soft-hearted to his daughter."

She gave her husband a glare as she spoke. Richard had intended to persuade her, but now he dared not say a word.

In a minutes later, she turned on the TV and played an online English class.

"Olivia, even if you're hanging upside down, you have to keep studying and not fall behind on your studies.'

"Everyone is racing against time. You've already been absent from campus for a week. Do you know how far behind you are? What will you do if you have to delay graduation?"

"Don't blame us for being ruthless. We're all doing it for your own good."

I had been hanging for an hour and I felt uncomfortable.

"Mom, please let me go ...."

Her face changed immediately and she slapped me.

"You are such a pretentious shit!! I tried to talk to you in a nice way, but you didn't listen and insisted on being a loser!"

"I'm telling you, as long as you don't die from studying, then study till you die. Don't give me excuses! Bullying or depression? Bah! I don't believe in any of that!"

My parents and uncles were so busy drinking and enjoying their meal that they ignored me.

Chapter 2

My five-year-old brother, Oliver Leander, sneaked over, stuffed a candy into my hand and touched my face with his little hands.

"Hey, Olivia, do you feel pain?"

"I'll give you a whoosh ...."

Oliver blew on me, trying to make me feel better.

"Oliver, don't bother with your sister! She's just a useless person!"

Hearing our mother curse, the little boy had no choice but to walk away in grievance.

Since I was a child, the word "useless" and "loser" had always followed me.

My mother was a kind and loving mother outside, but a cold demon at home.

I was bullied by a classmate, but instead of helping me, she asked me to apologize to the bully.

I attempted suicide due to depression, but she said I was acting.

I took a leave of absence from campus to recuperate at home, but she said she would bring bad luck to my younger brother.

My parents advised me to go to campus, but I refused.

The dean and the head of department also came to persuade me to go to campus, but I refused.

Now, my mother called my three uncles over. They said I was being pretentious and insisted on giving me a severe lesson.

Everyone came to force me, but no one asked me why I committed suicide and why I came to this point today.

The bullies broke two of my ribs and they still hurt. Now that I was hung upside down, the pain in my chest was even worse.

I was not afraid of death, I just did not want to die so painfully, could they let me die quickly?

Suddenly my eyes went dark and I could not see anything at all.

A suffocating feeling came towards me.

I suddenly felt a bit scared.

What I feared was not that the countdown of my life was approaching, but that when the final end came, I had never truly lived up to myself.

"It's been ten hours, that's enough!"

My father felt so worried and he saw that something was wrong with my face.

"No! This is just the beginning! Don't be soft-hearted on her, Richard!"

My uncles were opposing when suddenly my grandfather called.

"What? Mom fell from the third floor?"

"We're rushing over now."

My grandmother had an accident and they were in a rush to go out.

"Put Olivia down. She can take care of Oliver. We will deal with her when we come back!"

My mother gave the order and my father quickly rescued me.

"Olivia, you take care of your brother for dinner and shower and put him to sleep, do you hear me?"

It took me a long time to breathe normally again.

"Can you ... leave one person behind? I can't see anymore ...."

Her expression suddenly changed.

"Why are you pretending to be blind! If you can't see with your eyes, why didn't you say you were dying?"

Darlene got so angry that she came up and kicked me hard twice.

My sternum, which had not yet healed, broke again and I suddenly spat out a mouthful of blood.

Richard's expression suddenly changed and he looked nervous and uneasy.

"Why are you vomiting blood? Let me ... take you to the hospital!"

Darlene pushed him away and stared at me fiercely.

"What do you mean by deliberately not hiding? Are you trying to frame my family for domestic violence? Do you want me to bear such a bad name?"

"Don't think you can run away just because you pretended to spit out blood. Stay at home and don't go anywhere!"

"Mop the floor clean! It looks so dirty."

Then she turned and went into the room to pack her bag.

Oliver gave me his water bottle.

"Olivia, here ... drink some water!"

My father sighed.

"You know your mommy is a bit strict, but it's all for your own good."

"We specially invited your uncle here to help you. You should understand our good intentions."

So my father thought so.

In the room, my mother started arguing with him again.

"You lied so much to avoid going to school! You even cursed yourself to be blind!"

Chapter 3

"Tell her that even if she dies, I will burn her homework so that even if she becomes a ghost, she can't escape from studying!"

My mother's words were like a knife, digging deeper into my wound.

Two months ago, I was locked in the restroom by a bully, stripped of my clothes and had nude photos taken of me.

When I cried and told my mother, she gave me a cold and indifferent look.

"Why don't they bully others, but you?"

"You are a useless, you might as well die and save yourself the trouble."

When I learned that the bullies included the daughter of the dean and the daughter of her client, my mother immediately brought gifts and asked me to apologize to the bully door-to-door.

"They were the ones who bullied me, why should I apologize?"

She slapped me in public.

"If you can bear it, bear it. If you can't bear it, bear it."

"If you hadn't done something wrong, would others have bullied you?"

Even her words crushed my heart.

"Mom, if I died, would you be sad?"

"Of course I won't feel sad for a loser and you don't have the courage to die!"

'Her words killed me again.

I wanted to ask her a question.

"Mom, if I die, I'm no longer a loser, right?"

Later, I attempted suicide by cutting my wrists, but my father saved me.

When my mother learned that I was hospitalized, she sneered.

"What a great acting! You can avoid going to campus again."

I felt so sad that I begged my father to help me take a leave of absence from campus.

Because I could imagine that as long as I went back, I would be beaten even worse.

There were also provocations from bullies in my phone watch.

"Your mom doesn't care about you, why don't you come and serve us obediently?"

"If you don't come, your nude photos will be spread to the whole university."

I hid under the blanket and dared not come out again.

However, I was still picked up and hung upside down by my uncles.

Seeing them all about to leave, I struggled to sit up, but broke into a cold sweat in pain.

"Mom, I can't move and I can't see ... please call a nanny ...."

Darlene shouted impatiently.

"You just broke a bone, you won't die from that!"

"You are useless at campus and you are useless at home. What else can you do in your life? You are useless!"

She pulled my father and uncles with her, then slammed the door and left.

I was lying on the floor without any strength and power and with no more wave in my heart.

"Forget it, just die in pain. As long as I die, I will be free ...."

Oliver carefully wiped away the tears from my face.

"Olivia, don't cry! I'm with you."

I nodded lightly.

Oliver was so well behaved, I could not scare him.

Three hours later, he covered his stomach and let out a gurgling sound.

I was still lying on the floor. I could not move and could only tell him to make instant noodles himself.

"Call me if the water is boiling."

Oliver was too short. He climbed onto the chair to reach the kettle, but unexpectedly the kettle tipped over and splashed onto his face.

He screamed and fell off the chair.

"Oliver!"

He rolled on the floor in pain.

"Olivia, it hurts, help me ...."

"Oliver, go to the bathroom and rinse yourself with cold water!"

I crawled towards him with all my strength. The broken bones were piercing into my chest and every breath I took felt like a knife cutting me.

The little boy stumbled into the bathroom, turned on the faucet and laid on the floor with the water pouring down on him. However, he still cried in pain.

I had crawled less than five meters when the pain became so severe that I could not move any further.

Poor Oliver's crying had not stopped yet.
