After rebirth, I no longer persuaded my sister not to hit and run Chapter 1

On a weekend night, my sister Haley Aston, who had gone out to party, called me in a frenzy.

"Elissa, I drove drunk and hit someone. You need to come and take the blame for me!"

I immediately urged her not to avoid responsibility.

Haley hurried back to the scene of the accident, but unfortunately, the victim had already passed away.

As a result, she was sentenced to seven years in prison.

Because she was pregnant, Haley was allowed to serve her sentence outside of prison under surveillance.

She harbored a grudge against me for not taking the blame for her, and in the end, she poisoned me to death.

When I woke up again, I found myself back at the moment she called for help.

This time, I didn't hesitate and hung up the phone.

"Elissa, I drove drunk and hit someone. You need to come and take the blame for me!"

As soon as I opened my eyes, I realized I was holding my phone, answering a call. Haley's voice was anxious and panicked on the other end.

I came to my senses and hung up the phone decisively.

I realized I had been reborn.

Last time, Haley had gone out partying with her friends on a weekend night.

Later, she called me, saying she had driven drunk and hit someone, asking if I had been drinking and urging me to take the blame for her.

Although I hadn't been drinking, I wasn't about to do something so foolish.

I patiently advised her not to run away, telling her she should return to the scene and assist the victim, which could reduce her punishment.

But by the time she went back, it was too late.

The victim was already dead.

Many onlookers had gathered, and ambulances and police were also at the scene.

Haley was arrested by the police and sentenced to seven years in prison.

Because she was pregnant, she was allowed to serve her sentence outside of prison under surveillance.

During this time, she bore a grudge against me for not taking the blame, and in the end, she poisoned me to death.

This time, I didn't try to talk her out of running away; I simply hung up the phone.

My husband, Trent Lambert, saw me hang up and was a bit anxious.

"Why did you hang up? Haley's in trouble. You need to go check on her!"

I looked coldly at the man who had long since had an affair with Haley.

Last time, Trent had also urged me to take the blame for Haley, saying that since I hadn't been drinking, I wouldn't get in trouble.

At the time, I thought he was just saying that because he didn't understand traffic law.

But in the final moments of my previous life, Haley smugly told me that the baby in her belly was Trent's.

It was then that I understood my husband wanted me, his legitimate wife, to take the fall for his lover because he was worried about his mistress and their child going to prison.

I replied nonchalantly, "Haley's drunk. She must be talking nonsense! Doesn't she do that all the time?"

Indeed, Haley often called me late at night, claiming she had been hit by someone or harassed, asking me and Trent to go rescue her.

When I got there, I would often find that she was just drunk and wanted someone to carry her to the car.

Looking back now, I think her drunkenness was probably fake. It was more likely she intended to harm me.

Trent was still uneasy. "Even if she's just drunk, we should go pick her up."

"She's out with friends. There's no need to worry.

Why are you more concerned about her than I am?"

Trent's expression changed, but he quickly adjusted, smiling as he pulled me into his arms. "She's your sister. Of course, I have to look out for her."

I thought to myself, "Sure. You've looked out for her so well, and you've even taken her to bed."

I glanced at him and calmly said, "Let's get a divorce."
