Chapter 3

In an instant, all three of them panicked. I was their cash cow; they wouldn't let me get a divorce.

"Stella, I'm sorry. It was my fault to blame you."

"Yes, Stella, don't think more. Take good care of yourself."

Seeing their insincere appearance, I said, "Mom, you have to take good care of me."

"Don't worry, I will definitely make you plump and healthy."

Due to work reasons, Vernon and Tina resumed their previous life.

My mother-in-law came over every day to take care of me.

Look, she's here again with mushroom soup.

"Stella, eat a little. Only when you're full can you recover your strength."

I sneered. I was afraid that she wanted me to eat enough so that I would have the strength to die.

I calmly said to her, "Mom, I feel a little uncomfortable. Can you help me call the nurse?"

"Okay, you eat first. Eat more. I'll go call the nurse."

Taking advantage of her absence, I quickly switched our meals.

After the nurse came and left after checking, both of us happily ate our own lunch.

She was happy that her days of getting rich were not far away, and I was happy that her days of dying were not far away.

So, every time we had a meal, I would find an excuse to make her leave.

After a while, suddenly one day, this wicked woman asked me for the inheritance.

I refused, and she started cursing at me.

"You ungrateful thing, my son has been so good to you, caring for you, even marrying you. Is this how you repay our family?"

As she said that, she came at me with a pair of scissors.

I grabbed the small table next to me, waited for the right moment, and smashed it hard on her head.

In an instant, blood was flowing from her head, and she was swaying, trying to stand up.

I hit her hard again in the same spot.

This time, she finally fainted. I couldn't help but feel happy when the nurse was called, knowing that it was the effect of the psychiatric medication.

She was not young anymore. It was not just affecting her mental state with the effect of this medication. She may become demented.

Vernon also noticed that his mother was not normal and went to the hospital for a check-up. It turned out that she had Alzheimer's disease.

Of course, it would be too easy for this wicked woman if it were just that. I originally planned to create an accident and let her die.

Vernon came to me one day and asked with a meaningful look on his face, "Stella, do you know what's wrong with our mother? The doctor said it's dementia caused by her taking psychiatric drugs."

I expressed surprise and said, "How is that possible? We eat the same food."

"I noticed that my mother works so hard to take care of me every day, so I secretly switched our lunches. After all, my lunch is more abundant."

There were surveillance cameras in the hospital, so it was not appropriate for me to pretend not to know.

I was not worried that Vernon would report me to the police because he couldn't explain the presence of psychiatric drugs in the food. And whether he suspected me or not was no longer important, because the Grim Reaper was already beckoning to him.

A few more days passed.

Vernon found me, "Stella, let's make up."

"I sent our mother to a nursing home. She used to badmouth you all the time, but I am her son, and I couldn't do anything about it."

"Now it's just the two of us. Can you forgive me?"

Chapter 4

My heart turned cold. He sent his mother to a nursing home.

He must know what kind of place it was, especially for a demented elderly person.

But this was exactly what I wanted. Suffering in a nursing home might be more terrifying than death.

In response to Vernon's request for reconciliation, I pretended to be extremely happy, "What are you talking about? We didn't even argue, so there's no need for reconciliation."

Some time passed.

Vernon found me, "Stella, what happened to the money our parents left you? I want to invest in a project that is guaranteed to make money, and then we can live a good life together."

But I was destined to disappoint him.

"Ah? I just invested that money in a project a few days ago, I'm really sorry."

In an instant, Vernon's face turned dark.

I knew he won't believe it, but I did invest in a project.

And his disbelief would make him desperate.

These days, when Vernon went out, I secretly put a bug in his clothes.

One night, when Vernon and Tina were intimate, I overheard their conversation.

"Sweetie, Stella seems to be preparing to divorce me."

"No, I haven't received the money yet. I can't let her divorce me. I'd better take her out! You do this first and then..."

Time flew by, and it was the day they executed the plan.

When Vernon handed me a glass of water, I remembered their plan.

"This glass of water will make me lose my intuition to die. After I die, my best friend, Tina, will come out and make a false testimony, saying that I am the murderer who poisoned my mother-in-law. I committed suicide due to the guilt of conscience. I have no relatives, so no one will stand up for me, and they can easily get the money."

I took the water handed to me by Vernon and looked at him expressionlessly.

"Vernon, will I die after drinking this glass of water?"

He looked anxious and said, "What are you joking about, Stella? I only brought you the water because I saw that you were thirsty. Drink it quickly."

"Oh, then why don't you drink it first to show me?"

Upon hearing this, Vernon was first stunned, and then his face turned fierce.

"Damn, I originally wanted you to die quietly. Since you already know, don't blame me for being ruthless."

Saying that, he was about to pounce on me.

Unexpectedly, he fell to the ground, and I walked slowly towards him.

"Vernon, since I already know, how could I let you have your way? I added something to the water I handed you just now. The taste is not bad, right?"

"By the way, I forgot to tell you that your mother's situation was also caused by me."

Vernon was now like a demon, staring at me with his eyes fixed, "Bitch, you deserve to die, I will never let you go!"

"I should have listened to Tina's words and killed you early on."

Upon hearing this, I slapped him twice.

"You have no chance anymore, don't forget how you treated me."

"I feel it's not worth it to sacrifice my house for you."

After saying the last sentence, I went to the kitchen and turned on the gas cylinder, then walked towards the door.

Vernon was still cursing at me loudly from behind, "Damn bitch, even if I become a ghost, I won't let you go..."

Gradually, I couldn't hear his curses anymore, I knew he had passed out by now.

I had already set a fire in the house, waiting for the gas to reach a certain concentration and explode.

Let all of this disappear in the fire.

In the afternoon, while working at the company, I received a message that my house was on fire.

I smiled.

When I arrived home, the house had already become a ruin.

There was a crowd of onlookers around, and I ran forward, knelt on the ground, and cried heartbreakingly.

"Vernon, how could you die? What am I supposed to do alone?"

"Please wake up..."

Someone came forward to comfort me, saying that the dead cannot be brought back to life and I must live well.

But my thought was, "Finally, it's over. I haven't been happy in a long time."

Just when I was feeling pleased in my heart, I suddenly heard a familiar voice.

"I want to call the police. I suspect there is something suspicious about the death of Stella's husband!"
