Chapter 1

In my previous life, I ate bread with cold water every day to keep my girlfriend, Cynthia Edwards.

The money saved was spent on her clothes, bags, and beauty and hairdressing services.

However, her request became even more unreasonable. She demanded that I transfer three million dollars to her within three months before marrying me.

Fearless of the sudden death from staying up late, I took on numerous jobs like crazy and even sold blood at the hospital. Ultimately, I managed to raise enough money.

But Cynthia used the money to check into a hotel with another man and secretly referred to me as a simp.

I was heartbroken. While wandering on the road, lost in a daze, I was struck and killed in a car accident.

After my death, Cynthia sneered, "He just lost his life, but I am cyberbullied because of him. I am really wronged!"

I opened my eyes again, only to find myself back on the day when bread was my only meal.

I woke up in my rental apartment.

To save money for Cynthia, I bought a lot of cheap bread.

After my nap, the bread on the table had become completely hard.

I was about to heat it up when my cell phone rang.

[Honey, can you transfer me two thousand dollars? I need it urgently.]

It was a message from Cynthia.

Each time she contacted me, it was to request money.

I stared blankly at the text on my phone, remembering that on this day in my previous life, Cynthia had also asked me for money.

But now, I only had 12 dollars.

During our two-year relationship, Cynthia often brainwashed me.

"A truly reliable man won't keep any money for himself. He will transfer all his funds to his wife, ensuring that he will have good fortune in the future."

In my previous life, I was so blinded by love that I believed everything Cynthia said was right.

Every time she asked me for money, I was ecstatic.

At that time, I thought that she wanted my money out of care and love. Otherwise, why wouldn't she spend other men's money?

So, I happily borrowed two thousand dollars from a friend and transferred it to her.

[Honey, take this money for now. I'll give you more in a few days once I've earned it.]

Cynthia quickly replied with a perfunctory OK meme.

I stayed awake for two days and nights, working tirelessly and risking my health before finally earning enough to repay my friend.

Cynthia's birthday was in two days.

I borrowed another 500 dollars from my friend and bought a chocolate cake, her favorite, to celebrate her birthday.

Cynthia answered my call in a very impatient voice.

"I'm busy right now. Can't I celebrate my birthday any other time? Don't bother me."

She wasn't free now, so I had to continue working part-time.

I took a job as a hotel cleaner.

To my surprise, I encountered Cynthia in a hotel with another man, where the room cost over one thousand dollars a night.

When I knocked on the door with the sex toy takeaway, she answered, wearing only her underwear.

Behind her came the sound of a man taking a shower. "Baby, hurry up. I can't wait!"

Cynthia saw that it was me.

She panicked but soon regained her composure.

"Samuel, since you've seen it all, get out of here.

"Let's break up."

I didn't even say a word.

She slammed the door shut.

Chapter 2

I was too blinded by love in my previous life.

Even after seeing Cynthia cheat on me, I still wanted to salvage the relationship.

I believed that as long as I worked hard enough, she would eventually notice my positive qualities and come back to me.

I couldn't sleep that night and kept messaging Cynthia humbly.

[Cynthia, I was wrong. Can we not break up?]

[I know you acted on impulse. Can we just forget it and not break up?]

Cynthia didn't reply.

At the time, I didn't realize the fact.

She was sleeping with her beloved in a hotel, which was why she didn't have time to read my messages.

The next morning, after scanning through them, she just sneered and scolded me along with her beloved, "What a simp! Even after all this, he is still unwilling to break up with me!"

My phone buzzed several times.

Memories of my previous life crossed my mind.

I stared coldly at a few more messages from Cynthia.

[Samuel! Why didn't you reply to my messages? Do you want to break up?]

[I'm telling you, I need these two thousand dollars urgently. Transfer it to me right now!]

Urgently? Was she in a hurry to get a room with another man and buy a bunch of sex toys tonight?

Only now did I realize how ridiculous I was. I simply turned off my phone and didn't reply to her.

Upon turning on my computer, I found that my client had been waiting for me for a long time.

Over the past two years, I worked several part-time jobs, including hotel cleaning, food delivery, writing self-media manuscripts, creating PPTs, and video editing.

Recently, I spent nights editing videos to earn five thousand dollars.

My clients were all wealthy business bosses.

A few thousand dollars was just a tip for them.

But for me, it was the hard-earned savings.

In my previous life, I spent all this money on Cynthia. However, it all went down the drain, and I ended up with insults.

This time, no matter what, I wouldn't be blinded by love anymore.

Two hours later, I finally finished the promotional video for the client's company and sent it to him.

He was so thrilled that he readily transferred five thousand dollars to me.

"Samuel, you are awesome! I will introduce you to other jobs next time!"

I received the money happily.

Suddenly, it dawned on me that I hadn't bought clothes for my mother or gifts for my sister for a long time.

I quickly ordered a dress for my mother and a set of cosmetics for my sister.

They were overjoyed, and my mother was moved to tears.

"Samuel, you're mature and know how to prepare a gift for me!"

I closed my eyes contentedly and rested for a while. Suddenly, my cell phone rang again.

Chapter 3

It was Cynthia.

After the call was connected, she yelled on the other end of the phone, "Samuel, how dare you ignore my messages and calls?!"

Indeed, this was the first time in two years of our relationship that I was indifferent to her.

Yet, she couldn't stand it.

"Come over here now. Let's talk face-to-face!"

Cynthia sent me a hotel address.

The average price of those hotel rooms was more than one hundred dollars per night.

It was incredibly cheaper than the rooms she usually checked into with her beloved.

I didn't give her any money.

I wondered what she wanted to tell me.

In the hotel room, Cynthia was dressed in a miniskirt, revealing her curvy figure.

When I arrived, she sat on the bed, glaring at me with tears in her eyes.

"What's the matter? Why did you get a room but not come to my apartment to talk?"

I got straight to the point.

When we first started dating, Cynthia hugged my arm and said coquettishly that she wanted to live with me, asking me to rent a place outside.

From the very beginning, I decided to marry her and start a family with her.

So, I agreed and rented a small house.

But Cynthia changed her mind.

She stammered out that her parents did not approve of her moving out.

Though disappointed, I didn't complain.

I was unaware that it was just because her beloved, Vincent Roberts, had broken up with his girlfriend and returned to Cynthia.

During that time, they had been living in a dilapidated rented room.

Once they planned to go out and get a room, she would find ways to ask me for money.

Just like now.

Cynthia looked at me pitifully.

"Samuel, you promised to treat me well for the rest of your life and spend all the money you earned on me.

"Why? It's only two thousand dollars now. Are you reluctant to give it to me?"

I gazed at her indifferently.

Cynthia had a pretty and charming face. By current aesthetic standards, she was a classic sweet girl.

In my previous life, I was fascinated by her appearance.

Fearless of sudden death from staying up late, I was afraid that Cynthia would lose her temper with me and break up with me.

But now, what a fucking breakup! I was unwilling to be brainwashed by her anymore.

"I have no money.

"You know I've transferred all my money to you. I only have 12 dollars."

My firm statement annoyed Cynthia.

She wept bitterly, as if I had done something terrible wrong.

"You have no money. Is this an excuse? Why don't you earn more? Will you say the same thing when we get married?

"If I need money urgently, will you just brush me off with a few words like this?"
