Chapter 1

Eric Wilson gave me a bracelet as a gift, and I wore it for three years.

Later, I saw many bracelets exactly like the one on my hand in his study, and many letters of reconciliation to his beloved girl, Yolanda Watson.

Then I realized that he had personally made hundreds of bracelets for Yolanda and picked out the best one to give to her.

The necklace he gave me was just one of his failed products, but I had worn it for three years as if it were a treasure.

What made me feel more depressed was that Yolanda was the person who bullied me for three years when I was a student.

Before I saw these bracelets, I was still happily imagining the future of Eric and I.

But now, those neatly arranged and carefully woven bracelets seemed to slap me in the face.

There was a letter next to each bracelet, and each letter had the same person's name on it.

Yolanda was the nightmare in my life.

When I was a student, there were always dirty handwriting marks on my clothes. I was always blocked at the toilet door, and my hair was always pulled out in handfuls.

The disgusting smell of mop water made me vomit.

I wanted to vomit and didn't even dare to pick up those letters.

As I stretched out my hand tremblingly, I suddenly saw the bracelet on my hand.

I pulled the bracelet off like a madman and sat on the ground in a daze.

Yolanda once stepped on my hand and broke it. Later, she used the money to solve the matter. My hand would still hurt from time to time.

When I thought that the vicious woman had the same bracelet as mine, my body couldn't stop shaking.

After struggling for a while, I picked up one of the letters.

[Yolanda, I'm in love, but as long as you are willing to come back to me, you will always be my first choice.]

[Yolanda, she is a boring girl. It would be great if you could come back. I only love you.]

[Yolanda, I won't marry her. She just looks a bit like you.]

...

The envelope fell to the ground, and the bracelet I threw aside was dazzling.

It turned out that it was just a failed product given to me by Eric.

But I wore it for three years as if it were a treasure.

Every time I tentatively asked him about marriage, he was silent because he had someone he deeply loved in his heart.

But why?

Should my youth be trampled upon?

A familiar sound of footsteps came from outside the door.

For many nights, I waited for Eric's footsteps.

But this time, I had no expectations at all.

The dim warm light in the study shone on him, making him look like a god, but more like a devil.

I slumped to the ground and he looked down at me.

Seeing the envelopes scattered on the ground, Eric was a little surprised.

Then he stepped over the bracelet I threw on the ground without hesitation.

He didn't notice that under his feet, the beads on the bracelet scattered and rolled to all corners of the room.

I stared at the beads, like a machine.

Eric tilted his head, with anger in his eyes.

"Jasmine, who let you into my study? How dare you touch these things!"

As I looked at him, I couldn't speak as if my throat was choked.

It was Eric who saved me from danger time and time again.

It was he who taught me to be confident, and healed the hurt I suffered bit by bit.

At this moment, those painful memories came back again.

I was a humble and silent girl.

Eric was the one who changed me.

But now, everything seemed to go back to the past.

He showed me through his actions that I didn't deserve love.

Eric picked up the scattered letters one by one and put them away carefully as if they were treasures.

After that, he stood up. Seeing that I was in a daze, he seemed to come to his senses.

He reached out his hand to pull me, but I subconsciously dodged.

I accidentally stepped on the scattered beads on the ground, but he just glanced at them and looked away.

Eric frowned and took my hand again.

"Jasmine, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have yelled at you, but you shouldn't have touched these things."

He paused, trying to humble himself.

"Don't get me wrong, Yolanda and I are over. These are just for commemoration. Every man has someone he can't forget. Do you understand me?"

I touched my face and it was cold.

Suddenly, I remembered that when I was bullied in high school, Eric always showed up in time.

It turned out that since then, he had been closely following Yolanda.

"Eric, you saved me from danger again and again back then. It was just a game between the two of you, right?"

Chapter 2

Eric frowned, with impatience on his face.

"Jasmine, could you please stop being unreasonable? No wonder everyone dislikes you..."

He stopped talking suddenly and looked up at me.

My heart skipped a beat and I widened my eyes to look straight at him.

At that moment, I felt completely disappointed.

It was he who chose me firmly and led me out of depression.

But now, he was using my past pain to hurt me.

Eric rushed over, trying to hug me.

He said in panic, "Jasmine, don't think too much. I don't mean that."

How could he blurt out those words?

He must agree with them in his heart, and he might have thought about them many times.

"Let's break up, Eric."

As soon as I finished speaking, Eric's phone rang.

It was a very special ringtone, different from all the others.

He didn't care about my words at all.

With excitement in his eyes, he couldn't wait to answer the phone.

In the silent room, the voice on the other end of the phone could be heard clearly.

It was the devil's voice that woke me up countless nights.

"Eric, I'm back home. I want to stay at your house for a while. Is that okay? Jasmine won't mind, right?"

With a smile in his eyes, Eric said, "Of course not. I'll pick you up now."

He walked out while talking on the phone.

He didn't even look at me.

I felt cold all over.

My heart felt like it was being pierced by sharp needles, and all my senses seemed to have disappeared.

After a long time, Eric sent a message to me.

[Yolanda will be here soon. Clean up the house. Her room must have some aromatherapy, and prepare the best toiletries for her...]

I blocked all of Eric's contact information and left the house.

It was ridiculous. I had been living here for three years, but my stuff couldn't even fill a suitcase.

It was nearly three in the morning and the wind was so strong at night that it made my bones ache.

Just as I was about to take a taxi to my best friend Anna Chris, I saw Eric and Yolanda coming towards me.

He carried the luggage for her and they chatted and laughed.

Yolanda was cute, and Eric watched her lovingly.

I froze in place, unable to move.

My hair was messed up by the wind, and the suitcase was next to me, making me look very embarrassed.

Yolanda saw me first.

As if she wanted to deliberately show off, she asked Eric to tie her shoelaces.

"Eric, can you tie my shoelaces for me?"

Eric rubbed her head and said in a gentle voice, "Okay, I'll always tie your shoelaces for you, okay?"

In the three years we had been together, Eric had never done this for me.

One day, I asked him to tie my shoelaces.

But he replied to me, "I don't know how to tie shoelaces."

But now, he bent over to tie shoelaces for Yolanda with joy.

I suddenly realized that Eric had never done anything for me.

He just had verbal promises and comfort.

But I fell into his trap.

From an angle that Eric couldn't see, Yolanda gave me a smug smile.

I couldn't stop shaking all over.

This was the sequelae of being bullied for three years in high school.

Whenever I thought of Yolanda or saw her, I couldn't control my emotions.

As Yolanda came toward me, she pretended to be greatly surprised.

"Jasmine, where are you going?"

Eric followed closely behind Yolanda, and when he saw the luggage next to me, he frowned tightly.

"Didn't I tell you to stay home and clean up? Why are you out?"

With tears in her eyes, Yolanda said, "Eric, Jasmine doesn't want me to live in your house, right? If that's the case, I'll leave."

She pretended to leave, and Eric quickly reached out his hand and interlocked his fingers with hers.

I saw Yolanda's smug smile.

Eric said angrily, "What does it have to do with you if she leaves? Yolanda, just stay here. Isn't my home your home?"

Yolanda said, "Please don't quarrel because of me. I will feel bad..."

I didn't say a word the whole time, but they had finished acting out a drama.

I couldn't stand it any longer. When a taxi came, I got in without looking back.

As I closed the car door, Eric said, "Jasmine, if you move out, don't come back again.

"You weren't like this before."

I closed the door and didn't look back.

Eric didn't have the right to talk about the past at all.

I left in a hurry that day, so I didn't bring my mother's urn with me.

The next day, I came back to Eric's house. I entered the password and entered the door.

Yolanda was wearing the suspender pajamas that Eric bought for me, holding my mother's urn in her hands.

I froze at the door.

Yolanda smiled smugly.

"Jasmine, you wouldn't mind if I take a look at your mother's urn, right?"

I tried my best to control myself and asked her to put the urn down with a trembling voice.

But she raised her hand little by little, and the urn fell to the ground.

I completely broke down, and my cries attracted Eric, who was in the bedroom.

Yolanda immediately started crying.

"I'm sorry. I just wanted to help clean the urn, but I didn't expect to lose my grip. I'm sorry..."

Eric hurriedly hugged Yolanda in his arms.

"It's okay. Yolanda, don't blame yourself too much. Jasmine's mother won't blame you."

I looked at the ashes scattered on the ground for a long time.

My mother Lily was the best in the world.

How could her urn be trampled on like this?

I rushed forward and tried to hit Yolanda, but was grabbed hard by the arm.

Eric frowned and said, "What are you doing? She didn't do it on purpose."

My vision became blurry and I couldn't see anything or hear what they were saying.

I didn't know how I got out of there.

All I knew was that my hands were shaking.

I thought in my heart, "Don't worry, Mom. I have picked up your ashes.

I will protect you well in the future.

I will make sure the bad guys are punished.

I promise.
