Chapter 1

I gave my mate a kidney to save his life.

Then I disappeared.

Kidnapped, betrayed, and branded a thief, I became the villain in everyone’s story. They said I abandoned him. They said I ran off with his money. No one knew the truth—that I’d been fighting for my life while he was recovering with mine still inside him.

Four years later, he’s healthy again… and engaged to his first love.

In front of the entire pack, he raises a glass and says, “My only regret is not realizing she was my true mate. I’ve missed her for four whole years.”

Hidden in the shadows of his celebration, my heart shatters all over again.

To them, I’m still a criminal. To him, I’m a ghost. And to someone out there, I’m a loose end that needs to be silenced for good.

But this time, I won’t be the girl they destroy.

This time, I’ll decide my own fate.

Chapter 2

Viona Pov

Opening my eyes, I was greeted by the doctor's smiling face. “The kidney transplant was a success.” A bright smile unknowingly graced my lips as I turned to the person on the other bed beside me.

He was tortured by cancer for a long time. My mate Nicolas seeing him breathing perfectly without any discomfort made everything worth it, or so I thought.

“Are you alright, Miss Viona?” The doctor's concerned voice made me feel satisfied with myself, but I still couldn't wait to see Nicolas' reaction when he found out I was the mysterious donor who gave her kidney without any payments. The thought made my head swell with pride. I asked the doctor why he wasn't awake yet, to which he chuckled at my puppy love reaction.

“He had suffered from cancer for a long time, his body is trying to adjust, it will take a few days, but he will be fine” My mood immediately dropped but the thought of us living together happily ever after like in the fairytale lifted my spirits again.

Days later

As usual, I wiped Nicolas' body with a wet towel before feeding him his breakfast, though he hasn't woken up yet, his condition and medical reports gave me hope that he would be fine.

“Urgh!...damn, these stupid werewolf super hearing abilities” I grunted my teeth in frustration grabbing my phone that has been buzzing for a long time now. My mood dropped on seeing the dialer.

“What is it?” My tone became cold as I spoke to the person at the other end of the line. As usual, I immediately turned down his offer to meet up like old times, after he confessed his feelings towards me despite knowing my position in the pack and being my best friend.

“I have something really important to tell you, please come meet me, I'll be at the cafe” He immediately disconnected the call, not giving me a chance to refuse. I sighed as I thought of all the people that had turned away from me and tried to convert me since Nicolas was hospitalized, but now I can smile and stand by his side.

A few hours later.

I met with my ex best friend Joey at a cafe in the outskirts of the city, it had always been our hangout spot since we were in highschool. But now to me it became the place I lost my best friend.

He immediately called out to me from the corner of the cafe where we usually sat to talk or gossip during our school days.

I went over to him and sat down before he would pull a chair for me which by now was out of habit.

“You wanted to talk?”

He stammered a little before going to the point.

“Flora is back from Chad” This caught me by surprise because she was not to return for another three years.

“When did she return?”

His response was swift “Two months ago” I felt like cold water was pouring on myself but there was nowhere to vent my frustrations.

“Why didn't you tell me sooner?”

“You didn't pick up my calls” I couldn't blame him because I did reject his calls multiple times, especially at the earlier stages of my surgery.

“I'll be leaving now, I have an appointment” With that said, I excused myself from his presence while pondering his words.

The outskirts of the city was mostly quiet with few cars and even fewer people, it is my favorite place to sort my thoughts.

Again thinking about it, before leaving I told no one of my intentions to donate my kidney to Nicolas and I have been gone for quite a few months now, should I call home?

I'm sure they'll be worried about where their Luna has been. Suddenly, a bright light headed in my direction. My mind went numb for a few seconds, before I realized, I was knocked out by some men in black and tossed into it felt like the trunk my vision went pitch black and I passed out.

Opening my eyes, I realized that I was in what seemed to be an abandoned factory which I recognized as it was abandoned after a work accident that happened years ago. And chained to a metal chair the chains were cold, thick and heavy properly knowing I was a werewolf I was given a shot of sedatives every three hours.

I was treated like this for days which turned into weeks then months. But everyday I wonder if Nicolas was okay, was he awake, and was he looking for me. And all this time I just prayed he burst through that door like in the movies and save me, but everyday was a disappointment.

The kidnapper only comes at noon to check on me and give me food and water not enough to satisfy my hunger but enough for me to not die, everything was planned out. And so was my escape, unknowingly to them. My system slowly got accustomed to the dose of sedatives I take in a day, of course I had to look weak and fall asleep after a while to avoid suspicions.

One afternoon, one of the kidnappers came to feed me after giving me a shot of sedative when I accidentally saw the newspaper in his hand, though it looks old the headlines attracted my attention.

When he was about to leave, I called his attention, luckily for me among the three kidnappers he was the nicest, so I had a little more confidence in making my request.

“Please may I see the paper” My voice came as a whisper, due to my fragile state. He looked at me suspiciously.

“Just the front page please” I begged, almost sobbing to which I think he took pity on me and threw it to the floor in front of me before walking away and of course I could hear the locks of the door.

Turning my attention where it was boldly written on the front page of the paper.

“True love shines fourth: CEO's first love returns from abroad and donates her kidney to her lover”.

“Young CEO Nicolas was diagnosed with cancer, after hospitalization, his wife Viona Nobel disappear with an outstanding sum of over 30 trillion dollars, leaving him to die but as fate would have it, Miss Flora his first love who was separated from him years ago return to Korea immediately after hearing his situation and donated her kidney to save his life.

News update: He is recovering well and would make a comeback to the business world soon.

I was shocked beyond words, and immediately regretted reading the news as hot tears unknowingly fell from my eyes. With my strength and anger, I pulled against chains until they all snapped freeing me with blood dripping from my hands and legs due to the months of restrictions.

My body ached severely, my bones were stiff and my chest hurt badly despite the pain I was so eager to tell Nicolas the truth

That I was the one who saved him, that I never left him, that I love him, but my body didn't listen, it kept moving slower and slower, knowing I couldn't get to the door at this rate, I decided to escape through the window, which for any rational being it was a bad Idea as the windows had broken glass poking out, but to me it was worth the risk.

Chapter 3

Viona POV

I opened my eyes, under the harsh light of what seemed to be a laboratory room, I was tied to a stretcher but hands and feet.

My mouth was sealed with tape as I could only make humming noises. I tried to wiggle out but it seemed impossible.

After about two hours, according to the clock on the wall. The young man walked in with surgery tools, as the pain from the kidney donation resurfacing in my mind, I tried shouting unsurprisingly in my situation came like a loud and panicked humming. Surprised to see me awake or rather alive…He rushed out quickly.

After few minutes he returned with another young man who seemed to be much older than himself in a lab coat, with had red paint on it, ‘I know it's blood but my mind refuses to go that far’, “I have to think innocently” I repeat this in my head like a mantra trying to convince myself it's not what it looks like.

The man smiled at me which was charming and creepy at the same time. Soon after, he excused his apprentice and roughly pulled out the tape that covered my mouth.

I hissed in pain and his reaction quickly showed that he was used to it. My first thought began in my head, wondering if he was some kind of mad scientist.

“What am I doing here?”

I tried to keep my tone calm and cold but panicked when he reached for a scalper I ceased my breath to control my emotions.

“Wrong question” His answer left me puzzled, especially as he played with the scalpel in his hand.

“Do you know who I am?” I tried threatening him like Nicolas does when offended.

“Wrong question” He answered once again leaving me speechless.

“How did I get here?”

“Good Question” I was stunned by his answer as I was beginning to wonder if he was mentally unstable despite me being tied to a stretcher in a lab like a psychopath.

“Our agent took pity on you and brought you here, you were bleeding”

“Oh” I hummed, beginning to realize how the wounds on my body had been treated and were not peeling off.

“Then why did you tie me up…?”

“Good question”

“Even in your sleep you keep itching the wounds, and at that stage, it gets infected leading to your current state”. After his explanation, I felt guilty for judging him, it turns out he was a doctor after all.

“Thank you for saving me” At this point, I could only give him my words of gratitude.

Due to the cruel policy of absolute secrecy in this place, I could either be killed and used as a donor or join the Organization as a low level agent.

My choice was obvious, why would I risk my life to live on only to die again?

Two week later

It was a sunny afternoon, I was in my office doing my research and mapping out strategies on how this organization could control the rogue werewolves that are running wild.

It came to my knowledge that my uncle, Mark, was making plans to take control of the whole pack, overthrowing the current Alpha.

He was making allies with the rogue werewolves from within the country and other foreign countries. I felt rage inside me, why was my uncle being so wicked and vile? We never had issues when my dad was alive. The way he suddenly changed after my fathers death marvelled me, his sudden hunger and thirst for power.

Sometimes it made me wonder if he had a hand in my fathers death. I did think about it but there was nothing that could tie him to it, it was just an unlucky incident. By the way, he and my father were twins. I could see his devastation after losing his twin, which was evident even in his wolf.

The last thing I want is for my mother and brother to be implicated by his greed. I know I can easily use the organization's power to threaten him, but I can't do that without the backing of the founder.

A cruel and grumpy 332 year old wolf who looks like he has one leg stepped in the grave but refused to die.

“Oh”. I breathed, isn't this great? The Levites Pack was the strongest, only second to the Royal pack, closest to the moon goddess herself; each first born female every thirteen years would rule with the next alpha of the Royal pack.

My dad has always thought me to be on the offense but I have decided to be on both sides. strong enough to fight and win, also strong enough to defend when attacked. I came across a letter sent to my dad. It was sent in about 2 weeks before his death.

The content of the letter still remains hidden as it could cause the annihilation of my entire pack by of course my dad had no hand in such devious schemes.

A knock resounded on my door, before I could give the person permission to come in, the door was literally smashed open, leaving pieces of wood everywhere.

“Good Afternoon” I greeted her, bowing my head in reverence. Apart from the doctor she was far the youngest person in the organization which is really admirable considering her high ranking in the organization.

“Welcome Miss Anaya” There was no response as I slowly raised my head. “What was so urgent that miss had to come so quickly?” I asked innocently, only to be met with a painful slap that made my skin sting.

I knew better than to ask what I did wrong as she was personally rude towards me for some unknown reason.

“Did I ask you to raise your head?” Her voice was cold as usual, denying me any room to complain. Her bullying was something I could not get used to no matter how many times it happened.

Only to report to the grumpy founder and have him lecture me on the rules and regulations of the organization. The rule that stood out the most was rule number 1, 34 110 and 232, any exception was instant death

Rule No 1: Once in the premises organization, no non member is allowed to leave alive.

Rule No 34: Never say no to your superior or anyone higher ranking than you.

Rule No 110: Members must cease contacts with the outside world except on missions.

Rule No 232: No member is allowed to quit, only through retirement could they leave and complete a total of 200-350 missions. And once retired for 48 hours they would have no relation to the Organization and any non-members around the premises must be killed instantly.

I felt confused, Turning to the old man, I jokingly referred to the time I was brought into the Organization unconscious, but he replied seriously

“The person who brought you here was retired for 49 hours then shot on site whereas you were supposed to be a donor but strangely you were already missing a kidney and your womb then suddenly you woke up” I was shocked beyond words that was a secret even Nicolas didn't know about.

“I saw your determination to live and then invited you to work for us”

“What if I had refused?” That question slipped my tongue and the old man stared at me weirdly, his gaze shifting from the rules to my face, which I understood plainly, I simply would be dead.

The old man offered to train me personally to which I had to agree unwillingly else rule No 34 would be applied.

Three years later

Who would guess that such an old man was an assassin, a sniper to be exact. At the same time it was impossible to deny he was a great teacher, just a few months I was already a killing machine.

It took a few days for me to understand, sniper's were killers, they kill for fun, for money and for any petite grudges.

In my first 7 months as a full time assassin, I was sniped at least three to five times a day, but escaped unharmed, of course as per the rules of the organization, I only took revenge on those of lower ranking.

Sniping was the hardest job as it required an undying amount of patience and accuracy, hence there were less snipers than other jobs at the same time. If done correctly, it shot anyone up the rank in just years which was an obvious cheat in the organization.

As time went by I had the opportunity to destroy most of my uncle's alliance, Thanks to the organization I had the backing to destroy companies that were in my uncle's alliance, and with time most of them fell away.

All this is done by me in the shadows, no one knows my name or how I look as applied to rule No 110.

Six hours later

After killing a thug that was causing trouble at an orphanage, which I did out of pleasure, I returned to the organization, only to be called by the chief.

On arrival, he seemed in a good mood, which for some reason I had a feeling was going to put me in a bad mood.

He looked at me and gave a creepy smile which assured me, my next mission isn't something I would like.
