Chapter 4

~Daphne's POV~

Everyone gasped, looking at me in shock. "Why do you want to kill him? He asked, looking me straight in the eyes. "Because he betrayed me and has made my life a living hell, and I want him dead," I replied.

Finding out that his father was the one who destroyed my pack years ago, making me grow up as a rogue, fueled my anger to kill them. "Come on, then take the axe and finish him off. I love fierce ladies," I heard the masked man say, bringing me back to reality.

I moved closer to him, my heart pounding in my chest. I grabbed the axe from him, and then I raised it up, ready to deliver the killing blow, but suddenly I felt a sharp pain in my stomach, making me stop.

"What now, Daphne? Do you want to kill the father of your child?" Bryce said. My hands were still hanging in the air, shaking.

"And why the fuck would you waste my time, huh?" The masked man said this as he marched towards me. "Now get to the fucking floor," the masked man yelled.

With that, I rushed to where everyone was on their knees. "Well, I'm not going to kill you yet, Alpha Bryce, but this pack belongs to me now, and you all will do as I say from now on," the masked man said.

He signalled his guards, and two of his guards came to him. "Get that bastard up," he ordered, gesturing to Alpha Zeus. The guards poured water on Bryce's father, making him wake up in shock.

He looked around the room, his eyes settling on the man who was sitting in the Alpha's chair. "What is the meaning of this? Who the fuck are you?" Bryce's father demanded.

"You know me, but you haven't seen me before. I'm Theo, the Alpha of the Silver Pack," he said, making Bryce and his father gasp in shock.

"We've been working together for years; why would you do this to us?" Bryce yelled at him. And then it all clicked: this was the man Bryce and Xena had planned to sell me to as a slave after I gave birth.

"You destroyed my pack years ago and left me for dead, but now I'm here to take yours back as revenge," Theo said, his eyes burning with fury as he stood up and walked to them.

"You all belong to me now. Defy me, and you'll die. Am I clear?." Theo asked loudly. But no one replied. "Did I make myself clear?" he yelled again.

"Yes, Alpha King Theo," everyone chorused, including me. He is really as ruthless as they say he is. Yes, I had always wanted to take revenge on the pack that destroyed mine too many years ago, and I was glad Theo defeated the Moon Stone Pack.

But I was still trapped here, as this pack now belongs to him. "I always take a prize in every territory I conquer. And as for you," he said, turning to me, "you are my prize."

His gaze was fixed on me, and I could feel my heart racing in my chest. A wave of fear washed over me. I was shocked and scared by his sudden words. I didn't know why he wanted me or if it was because of what I had said earlier.

"No way!" Bryce screamed. "She's mine, and Daphne is carrying my child. "I have gold and lots of money," Bryce said. "She was yours, but now mine!" Theo spat, his hands balling into fists at his sides.

Bryce was shaking with rage, but he was powerless to do anything. He could only watch as Theo advanced towards me. He grabbed my arm and pulled me towards the door.

"I think we're forgetting something," Theo said, turning back to face Bryce. "Reject her!" But Bryce hesitated, which made Theo kick him hard on the stomach and face.

"If you don't reject her now, I'll burn the pack down!"

"I, Alpha Bryce of the Moonstone Pack, reject you, Daphne, as my mate." I clutched my chest and gritted my teeth as the weight of his rejection hit me. I wasn't even given the chance to endure the pain as I was dragged out by Theo.

"Throw Bryce and his father in the dungeon; I'll figure out what to do with them later," he said to his men. And just like that, I was no longer bound to Alpha Bryce. "Get in the car." He ordered.

I didn't hesitate as I climbed the passenger seat with fear, tears streaming down my eyes. Theo joined me in the passenger seat, making it very hard for me to breathe, and then the car zoomed off.

I couldn't help but wonder what was installed for me. I stole a glance at Theo. His face was hard and unreadable. I had just left hell, only to enter another one. "Why the fuck are you crying, huh?" Theo uttered.

After a few minutes, exhaustion took over, and then I closed my eyes, trying to shut out the world and stop the tears from flowing. But my respite was short lived when I felt my stomach churning with a sharp pain that left me breathless.

I bit my lip, trying to silence my gasps, but the agony was too much to bear. My eyes met Theo's, and for a moment, I thought I saw concern flicker across his face. But it was quickly replaced with his usual scowl.

"What's wrong now?" he growled, his voice like a cold slap.

"My...my stomach," I stammered, clutching my abdomen as if I could hold the pain inside. "It hurts so much... I don't know what's happening!" My voice cracked as another wave of agony ripped through me.

I doubled over, my body trembling uncontrollably. And then, I felt it. A warm, sticky sensation spread between my legs. My heart raced as I lifted my gown, my hand trembling as I touched my legs.

"Is that...blood?" Theo asked, his voice laced with shock.

~Theo's POV~

My eyes widened as I saw the blood in between her legs. I didn't know what to do at this moment, so I grabbed her hand, my grip tightening as she screamed in pain. I could feel her hands trembling in mine.

"Why are you bleeding?!" I asked, my voice urgent and laced with fear. Daphne's face was filled with pain, her eyes squeezing shut as she yelled.

The sound sent a chill down my spine, her voice cracking with each tortured breath. "I don't know! Oh Goddess, it hurts so much!" My mind raced as I tried to process what was happening to her.

I had never seen anyone in so much pain before, and the sight of Daphne's bloodstained gown made my heart race with fear. "Hold on, Daphne! We're getting you to the hospital now." I whispered.

"Take us to any nearby hospital now!" I yelled at Collin, the driver, who immediately increased the speed of the car. My heart raced with every passing second, and my mind was filled with so many negative thoughts.

What was happening to Daphne? Why was she bleeding so much? What if she dies in my hands? Just then a thunderstorm filled the dark sky, and it was beginning to rain.

The rain came down very heavy, hitting against the car like a thousand fingers. It was already dark, and I could see that Collin was finding it hard to drive the car.

Suddenly, the car hit a rock with a loud crunch, and the engine went down immediately. As the rain intensified, the tension inside the car grew.

Daphne's grip on my hand tightened, her nails digging into my skin as she screamed again, her body convulsing in pain. "What's going on?" I demanded, my voice tight with worry.

"I think we hit something now," Collin replied, his voice also shaking with fear. "The car won't move." My heart was still  racing as I looked down at Daphne; her face was already looking pale, and her eyes were beginning to close.

She was getting weaker by the minute; I could barely hear her voice anymore. "We can't stay here," I said to myself. I knew I had to act quickly. I thought of materializing, but materializing came with it's own risks, and I hadn't done it in years.

The last time I did, I bled through out the day. But I had no choice now. Her life was at stake. "Meet me at the hospital when the car starts," I instructed the driver, my voice firm.

Then, with a deep breath, I focused my energy and vanished into the rain, reappearing in front of the hospital. I rushed inside immediately. "She needs help right now!" I shouted, startling the nurses and doctors.

"She's bleeding badly and in severe pain!" The medical team rushed to me as they took her form me into the emergency department. "I don't want to die," Daphne whispered, her voice trembling with fear.

I had never felt like this for anyone before, so confused and scared. "What have I gotten myself into?" I wondered, my eyes fixed on Daphne's pale face as they took her away.

"I should have just left her in Bryce's pack. What was I thinking, getting involved with a pregnant woman?"

Chapter 5

~Daphne's POV~

My eyes opened slowly, my gaze blurry. The smell of antiseptic filled my nose, and the hospital room's fluorescent light cast an eerie glow on my pale face. I tried to sit up, but Alpha Theo's voice stopped me.

"What do you think you're doing?" He asked, making me lay back down. "What happened to me? Why am I here?" I asked, my voice shaking. His expression changed immediately.

"You were rushed in because you were bleeding profusely." My heart raced as I heard what he just said. "Wait...wait, I hope my baby is fine," I pleaded, my voice cracking as tears began to well up in my eyes.

Alpha Theo's silence was deafening. My eyes locked onto his, searching for a little of hope. But his words crushed me instantly: "You lost the baby, Daphne."

The room spun around me as I felt my world shatter. The pain was a crushing weight suffocating me; I felt like I was drowning, unable to escape the torment.

The one thing I had promised to protect, to love, and to cherish was gone. I sobbed uncontrollably, thinking of what could have caused me to miscarry, but then a thought crossed my mind like a bolt of lightning.

The only thing I had consumed today was the fruit juice Xena had given me. "Yes, Xena gave me a glass of fruit juice before the attack." I stammered, my eyes widening.

"No, no, this can't be happening," I screamed.

"Xena killed my baby." I couldn't stop myself from crying. So if Alpha Theo hadn't taken me away from that pack, I would have probably died there.

"Fuck!!" Alpha Theo cursed under his breath. "I'm going to kill that bitch with my bare hands." He said this, clenching his fists. Did Xena intentionally harm me and my baby?

Only the thought of it sent a chill down my spine. I felt destroyed. My baby, my precious baby, was gone. "I know how painful it is, but you should also be glad that you have nothing holding you back to The Moonstone Pack now," he said.

His words felt like a slap, bringing me back to reality. I was confused; one minute Alpha Theo acts like he cares about me, and the next minute he's spitting out rubbish.

Just then, the doctor walked in, "Would she be able to go home now?" Alpha Theo asked without sparing the doctor a moment. "I have a lot of things I need to attend to in my pack, and I can't leave her here in another pack."

I didn't know what to think; I just lost my baby, and he wouldn't even let me rest. I couldn't help but believe I was trapped at the mercy of a man who seemed to care little for my well-being.

"She's not too strong to leave right now because she wouldn't be able to walk," the doctor was saying when Alpha Theo interrupted him again.

"You don't have to worry, doctor; nothing's going to happen to her," he said. Alpha Theo's interruption and cold attitude got me feeling scared.

"She needs rest and care, not a long journey back to your pack," the doctor protested, but Alpha Theo's expression remained unyielding. The doctor has no choice but to yield.

The thought of Alpha Theo taking me back to his pack was terrifying. My heart raced with fear, trapped and helpless. I couldn't bear the thought of being a prisoner again, not after Alpha Bryce and Xena's cruelty.

Escaping now was my only hope, but how? The windows were too high, and the floor was too far down. I was really trapped. As I stared at Alpha Theo, I noticed he kept shaking in a weird way.

What was going on with him? I wondered. I watched as he rushed out of the room in a hurry, and then I knew this was my only chance to escape. I slowly got out of bed.

I took a deep breath before slipping out of the room, my eyes looking left and right. The coast was clear. There was no sight of Alpha Theo or the Doctor. I moved swiftly, my legs trembling with weakness.

"Come on, Daphne, you can do this," I whispered to myself. I refused to escape through the elevator, fearing someone was going to see me in the patient uniform, so I took the stairs instead.

Each step was agony, and my body was screaming in pain. "Just a little more," I encouraged myself, gritting my teeth. The stairs were actually longer than I had expected. Suddenly, the lights began to flicker, making my heart beat faster.

"No, no, no, you can't go off now," I muttered, fear gripping me. I knew I couldn't stop, so I increased my pace, my footsteps echoing.

As the lights finally went off, I couldn't see anymore, which made me stumble down the stairs, my body hitting the ground. "Ahh!" I screamed in pain.

I knew I couldn't stop now, so I carried myself up, ignoring the pains I was feeling, and continued down the stairs, my hands outstretched in front of me like I was a blind person.

Finally, I reached the last step and pushed the door open. With a surge of adrenaline, I ran out into the night, my legs moving as fast as they could. I didn't even dare look back, fearing I might see Alpha Theo.

"Keep going, Daphne, keep going," I panted, my breath coming in ragged gasps. I kept on running because I was determined to start a new life for myself.

I had been walking for two hours straight, and it had taken its toll on me. I knew I needed to rest before I passed out. It was very dark and I knew it would be hard to find a place tonight.

Just as I was searching for a place to rest, torches flickered to life, pointing directly at me like prey. I knew I had to run because if they get a hold of me, I don't know what they were going to do with me, considering they were men and I was out alone in the dark.

Something within me screamed, "Run!" And the moment I moved, the men yelled, "Come back here!" I ran into the nearby forest, my legs pumping despite my weakness.

The men were chasing me, and I could hear their footsteps closing in. My vision became blurry, and I could feel myself gasping for air. I stopped the moment I felt a familiar sensation-blood trickling down my legs.

"No, not again!" I cried out. "This can't happen...." I didn't even finish my statement when I felt something hit my head, and then everything went black.

My eyes fluttered open, adjusting to the sunlight streaming through the window. I was relieved at the fact that I was alive at least. But my relief was short-lived, as my eyes met the two guards who loomed over me.

Their eyes gleaming with predatory intensity. "Where am I?" I asked, my voice trembling as I struggled to sit up. The guard's smirk grew wider.

"You're in the silver pack, little one. We found you trespassing on our territory like a thief." My mind raced as I processed the familiar name.

"Silver Pack..." My heart began to race as the pieces fell into place. There was no way I was in this pack. "How did I get here?" I cried. Just then, a cold, calculating voice echoed through the room.

"Well, well, well. Look who we have here! It seems fate has brought you back to me without stress." I turned to see who the person was and then my eyes locked onto his.

My heart sank as I saw his imposing figure, his eyes glinting with a sinister light. "Alpha Theo," I whispered, my voice barely audible.

Chapter 6

~Theo's POV~

~Flashback~

I stood in the woods far away from my pack but just enough to see it burn down to the ground. Everything was still sharp in my memory, just like the night my parents died. That night never left me, not even for a second.

I was only nineteen when Alpha Zeus and his warriors from the Moonstone Pack came charging through our borders. The screams had pierced the night like a blade, cutting through the silence with a violence I wasn't ready for.

Blood had stained the ground, thick and dark. I still remember the smell, it clung to my skin for days afterward. My father had stood tall, even when outnumbered. I watched him fall, his chest caved in by Zeus's claws, and I did nothing.

I couldn't move. I couldn't breathe. All I could do was stare and scream his name until my throat was raw. That night, I lost not just my father but my entire family. They left me with nothing.

I buried that helpless boy and swore I'd never feel that powerless again. I ran far away and was found by a kind hunter, he took me to the Silver pack. I joined the warriors training and when I was strong enough, I started over.

The Alpha of the Silver pack at the time had no child and he took me as his. And when he saw my potential he crowned me the Alpha which some people in the pack were against. But I didn't care about what they thought.

Few years later I built the Silver Pack from the ground up, found others like me, wolves who had been broken, forgotten, left behind. I trained them myself. I made warriors out of those who had nothing left.

And together, We became a force they couldn't ignore. And when the time was right, I went back not as a boy, but as an Alpha. I walked into the Moonstone Pack and tore down everything they had built, piece by piece. I was patient.

I worked from the inside, gained their trust, studied their weaknesses, and when I struck, I didn't miss. Alpha Zeus and his son Bryce were my prisoners now. That should have made me feel something. Peace. Satisfaction. Relief. But all I felt was... empty.

My parents and siblings were still gone. My family still lay in unmarked dirt. Revenge didn't erase that. Then there was Daphne. I found her during the attack. She wasn't loud or powerful, just quiet, always watching.

I knew she was mated to someone, Alpha Bryce. It should have ended there, but when I got close, I felt it-the bond. My wolf felt it before I did. She was mine.

Only she didn't feel it.

She looked at me like I was a monster, and maybe I was. I didn't want her. I never planned to have a mate. I never thought I'd find my mate in a place like this. Not after all these years. And definitely not in the heart of enemy territory.

I had already given everything I had to get revenge. I didn't have space in my life for softness, for love. But something about her made it impossible to walk away. And then I found out she was pregnant.

I stood in the Moonstone Pack's ruined courtyard with her scent wrapped around me, my heart pounding in ways I didn't understand. She wasn't carrying my child, but my wolf didn't care. He still called her mate.

I didn't know what twisted game the Moon Goddess was playing. Why me? Why her? Why now? I had taken down my enemies. I had won. But standing there with Daphne and that unborn child, I wasn't sure what winning even meant anymore.

All I knew was I wasn't going to leave her here. She would go with me back to my pack and face whatever fate is waiting for her.

Then everything spiralled faster than I could keep up. Daphne was bleeding in the car, and before I could think, I had materialised right inside the hospital, right by her side. I hadn't used that power in years. It drained me in ways I'd forgotten.

My bones felt like they were on fire, and my skin throbbed from the strain, but I stayed. I couldn't leave her, not while she was in pain. Not while she bled. I didn't even know the reason behind everything that was happening to her.

But I took her from that pack, so I'd be responsible for her now. I watched her cry after the doctor said she lost the baby. I felt for her, but then she should be happy she had nothing tying her to Alpha Bryce anymore.

I stood there in her room, listening to the doctor speak, trying to convince them she'd be safer if I took her home. I knew the pack had better healers and better protection. But my voice sounded thin, like it wasn't even mine. My hands were shaking. My vision swam.

I needed to leave this place by all means, and I couldn't leave her here. I couldn't breathe for a second, so I turned and rushed out of the room, my chest tight, my head spinning. I needed space.

I pushed into the bathroom down the hall and leaned over the sink, gripping the edges like they were the only thing holding me together. That's when I saw it. My hands were covered in glowing red veins, crawling up my wrists like fire under the skin.

The pain came in waves-deep, sharp, hot. I clenched my jaw and rode through it. I had known there would be consequences for using that ability again, but I didn't care. I hadn't even thought twice.

I had done it for her. A woman I barely knew. A woman that was pregnant for another man.

I didn't recognise myself anymore.

I splashed water on my face and closed my eyes, letting the cold settle into my skin, calming me just enough to breathe without my chest ripping open. But it wasn't enough. I needed something stronger.

Something to pull me out of this mess of feelings I didn't want to deal with.

Sex.

It was the one thing that always worked. Something fast, something rough, something to shut my head off. I needed to get back to the Silver Pack. Back to control. Back to something familiar.

I dried my hands and headed out, walking fast through the hall. The hospital felt too clean, too bright, too still. My boots echoed against the floor as I turned the corner toward Daphne's room.

But when I stepped inside... she wasn't there. The bed was empty. The monitors were off. The IV stand stood alone, untouched.

She was gone.

I turned quickly, my heart thudding just once, sharp and fast. I stepped out of the room and caught the eye of the nearest nurse. "Where is she?" I asked, voice calm but low, dangerous.

The nurse frowned. "Who, Alpha?"

"The girl in this room," he said, pointing back over his shoulder, jaw tight. "Daphne." She glanced at a clipboard, flipping a page, clearly confused. "She was supposed to be under watch. I-"

I didn't wait. I looked at the other staff nearby, all of them wearing the same blank expression.

It hit me then.

She'd escaped.

The thought made me pause, but only for a second. A slow smile tugged at my lips, cold and knowing. That wasn't a smart move to pull on me. Did she really think she could run from me now?

I lifted my head and mindlinked my guards. "Someone's slipped out," I said, my voice hard.

"Female. Petite, soft face. Looks scared. Search the road between here and the pack. She's not far. I ended the link and turned away from the nurses without another word. My boots echoed against the tile as I walked out of the hospital.

Outside, the cool air hit me, but it did nothing to cool the heat crawling up my arm. I glanced down. The veins on my hand were still red. Flaring. Burning.

I needed relief.

Without thinking, I got into my car, slammed the door, and the driver drove toward the pack house. All I wanted right now was sex.

That was the only thing that ever helped.
