Chapter 11

The mansion was quieter than usual that night, but Talia could feel tension in every corner.

She had barely finished dinner when Adrian appeared at the doorway of her room. His expression was hard, jaw tight, eyes flashing with a controlled fire.

"Talia," he said quietly, "I won't let her threaten you again."

She looked up at him, heart racing. "What are you going to do?"

"I've already started," he replied. His phone buzzed. "Security has tracked all her movements, and I've informed the press team to monitor her next move. She won't have an opening to intimidate you again."

Talia's chest tightened. "You're... doing all of this for me?"

He took a step closer. "Not for you. For us."

Her breath caught. The possessiveness in his tone was sharp, yet protective. Dangerous. Her pulse thrummed in her ears.

"And... what if she tries again?" she asked softly, though she already feared the answer.

He reached out, brushing a strand of hair from her cheek. The contact sent heat rushing through her body. "Then I deal with her," he said firmly. "You don't have to."

Talia swallowed. His closeness made her forget the warnings, the contract, the rules. All that mattered was him - this man who had claimed her heart, even when she hadn't given permission.

The next morning, the mansion was calm, but the undercurrent of tension remained. Talia wandered through the garden, thinking about Adrian. About Serena. About how her chest still ached at the thought of him.

"Good morning," a familiar voice said behind her.

She turned to see Adrian, hands in his pockets, watching her carefully.

"You're... quiet," he noted, stepping closer. "Thinking about her?"

Talia hesitated. "A little," she admitted. "But mostly... I'm thinking about you."

His dark eyes narrowed, a shadow of something fierce flickering across his expression. "Me?"

"Yes," she whispered. "I... I don't know why, but... I can't stop thinking about you."

Adrian's jaw tightened, but then he smiled - small, rare, almost dangerous. "Good," he murmured. "Because you belong here. With me. Not her. Not anyone else."

Her heart skipped. The words were possessive, raw, and undeniable.

Later that day, a message arrived from Serena.

You're not safe. He'll never stop wanting me.

Talia's hands trembled. She showed Adrian immediately.

He read it, dark eyes flashing. Then he looked at her, his expression sharp.

"Stay close to me," he said softly. "Because she's not just after you. She's after us. And I won't let her win."

Talia felt a shiver of fear - and something else. Something dangerously intoxicating.

"Us?" she whispered.

"Yes," he replied firmly. "Us."

And in that moment, Talia realized: the contract had changed. Their marriage was no longer just signatures and rules.

It had become something much more dangerous... and much more real.

Chapter 12

The mansion felt tense that evening.

Talia was in her room, pacing back and forth. Serena's last message still burned in her mind:

You're not safe. He'll never stop wanting me.

Her hands trembled. She wanted to be brave. She wanted to be the woman Adrian needed her to be. But fear clawed at her chest.

Before she could sink deeper into panic, Adrian appeared at her doorway. His dark suit, perfectly straight posture, and intense gaze made her stop mid-step.

"Talia," he said quietly, but every syllable carried weight. "We're going to confront this. Tonight."

"Confront... who?" she asked, voice tight.

"Her." Adrian's jaw was firm. "Serena."

Her heart skipped. He wasn't just protecting her. He was taking the battle to the source.

"You don't have to do this," she whispered. "I can-"

"No," he interrupted, his eyes dark and unyielding. "You stay here. Safe. Protected. I handle her. That's my job."

Talia felt a rush of warmth and something else - something she wasn't ready to admit. She nodded silently, watching him leave.

Adrian found Serena in the mansion's private garden. She was leaning against the fountain, arms crossed, smirking as if she owned the world.

"You came," she said, voice light but dangerous.

"I did," he replied evenly. "You're done threatening her. Done."

Serena laughed softly. "Or what? You'll stop me?"

Adrian's gaze darkened. "I will do whatever it takes. She is not yours to hurt."

"You think a contract marriage changes anything?" Serena taunted. "You can't control what people feel."

"I control this," Adrian said, voice low, dangerous. "And right now... I control you."

The tension between them was palpable, electric. Serena's eyes narrowed. She took a step forward, but Adrian mirrored her movement - blocking, commanding, dominant.

"You're playing a dangerous game," he said softly, almost a growl. "Step away from her. Or you'll regret it."

Serena hesitated, realizing he wasn't bluffing. "This isn't over," she hissed, before storming off.

Adrian's shoulders relaxed slightly, but the tension in his jaw remained.

Back in her room, Talia had watched everything from the balcony. Her chest was pounding, but she felt something she hadn't before: relief. Safety. Because Adrian had fought for her.

He turned to her, dark eyes softening. "You're safe," he said, walking closer. "I won't let anyone hurt you."

Talia swallowed hard. The weight of his words, his nearness, the strength in his voice... it overwhelmed her.

"I... I don't know how to thank you," she whispered.

"You don't have to," he replied, stepping closer until their breaths mingled. "Just... stay with me. That's enough."

Her heart raced. The line between contract and reality blurred further.

"I..." she began, but stopped. Words failed her.

Adrian tilted his head slightly, brushing a strand of hair from her face. "I'll protect you," he murmured. "No matter what. No matter who tries to take you from me."

Her chest tightened. She realized, with a shiver, that it wasn't just protection she craved. It was him.

And in that moment, the storm outside seemed to echo the storm in her heart - wild, unstoppable, and completely consuming.

Chapter 13

The mansion was quiet, but Talia could feel the storm coming.

Serena wasn't done. That much was clear.

Her phone buzzed again. Another threatening message:

You can hide, but you can't escape me. He'll never stop thinking about me.

Talia's hands trembled as she stared at the words. Fear clawed at her chest, but a spark of determination burned through it.

No. She wouldn't be intimidated. Not this time.

Adrian found her pacing the balcony that evening. His expression darkened the moment he read her tense posture.

"Serena?" he asked, voice low, already knowing the answer.

"Yes," Talia admitted. "She... she's trying to get to me again. I can feel it."

He stepped closer, his presence overwhelming. "And you feel powerless?"

A flutter of nerves and something else - longing - ran through her chest. "A little."

He shook his head slowly. "Not anymore. You're not powerless. You're mine. And together, we'll handle this."

Talia swallowed hard. "But what if she-"

"She won't touch you," he interrupted sharply. "Not while I'm around."

She looked up at him, noticing the possessive fire in his eyes. He wasn't just protecting her. He wanted her. All of her. And that realization made her pulse race.

Later that night, Serena arrived at the mansion's edge, brazen and defiant.

"I told you this isn't over," she said, her voice cutting through the night air.

Adrian met her in the garden, calm but deadly. His dark eyes never left hers. "I warned you. Leave her alone."

Serena laughed softly, almost bitterly. "You can't protect her forever. And you can't stop me from wanting what's mine."

Adrian's jaw tightened. "What's hers is hers. What's mine is mine. And you are not mine to control. You will not harm her."

For a moment, the night held its breath. Serena's gaze flicked to the mansion, then back to Talia, who had been watching from a safe distance.

"You think you've won," Serena hissed, stepping back. "But I always have a way."

With that, she disappeared into the shadows, leaving a sense of danger that refused to dissipate.

Adrian turned to Talia, his expression softening only slightly. "Are you okay?" he asked.

Talia nodded, but her chest still ached with adrenaline. "I... I will be."

He stepped closer, placing a hand lightly on her shoulder. "You're stronger than you think. And I'll remind you every day. But you don't have to face her alone. Not ever."

She looked into his eyes, and for the first time, the words she'd been holding back threatened to escape.

"I... I trust you," she whispered, voice trembling. "And... I think I..."

Adrian's hand tilted her chin gently, so she met his gaze. "You don't have to say it," he murmured. "I know. And I feel the same."

Her heart thundered. The contract was no longer just a set of rules. It was a life, a connection... a dangerous, thrilling, undeniable pull between them.

And Talia realized, with a shiver she couldn't ignore: she was falling for him.
