It was a new model from Hermes. There was only one in the counter in the west of the city in the whole Seattle and the distribution alone costed millions.
When Stephan came to me to discuss the fake divorce, I saw the packaging box in his office. I thought it was his anniversary gift to me, but I didn't expect that he gave me a divorce that was hard to tell whether it was real or fake. And this bag was for Lilian.
"Natasha, do you know those two people?" The new colleague showed up with a handsome face that made people and gods angry and asked me curiously.
"I don't know them. They came back to get the bag, I took it with me."
I lied and asked him to go out first.
When I picked up the bag, a silver key fell out. When I bent down, the things in the bag scattered all over the floor. All kinds of things were scattered there and the strong visual impact almost made me unable to stand.
Various images collided in my mind. I couldn't help it anymore. I squatted down and cried. The CBD incident was a big deal and the videos on the Internet became popular one after another.
Sitting in the taxi on the way home, I kept watching related videos and Stephan appeared in every video. In the corners of the video, there were Stephan I had never seen before. In various poses and angles, they hugged each other so tightly. I felt sick from watching it.
The moment I got off the car, I vomited it all out. The pain in my stomach was so intense that I could hardly stand up straight.
I walked to the door with the help of the wall.
But I heard Lilian's bright and cheerful voice, "You bring me home now, aren't you afraid that your wife will find out?"
Stephan laughed softly a few times and hugged Lilian, "She is on a business trip!"
Lilian raised her legs and straddled the man's waist, "I want to do it in your wedding room."
"Little devil!" Stephan slapped her on the butt, which was loud and harsh in the empty living room.
The door handle I held was as cold as ice.
Standing outside the door, I just felt that Stephan was dirty to the core. It was the kind of dirt that could never be washed away. But what made me even more sad was that compared to Stephan, I was the one who made the mistake and fled. I even wished from the bottom of my heart that I had never seen it all.
I took out the divorce agreement from my bag, flipping through it while thinking about the eight years between Stephan and me. My tears seemed to be unable to flow away. I held the divorce agreement in my hand and those black and white words were like sharp arrows piercing my eyes. It hurt, but it made me sober.
So he wanted to divorce me for Lilian? I couldn't help laughing, feeling that Stephan was so scheming.
The letter from the unit was sent back to my mobile phone and the date on it was to leave for Tibet three days later. There were constant messages in the group, all saying that they would practice for me.
After I replied one by one, I lay in bed and didn't sleep all night.
In the silent night, I tossed and turned and finally decided to find someone to investigate Stephan. Within a few minutes, I got the information about his asset transfer. Looking at the stack of information in my hand, I suddenly laughed. Laughing at myself for being so stupid these years.
When I got home the next day, Stephan was waiting for me as expected.
After a few words of routine concern, he pulled me to sit on the sofa. The divorce agreement was still on the coffee table.
"Wife, I'm really doing this for your own good. Be obedient, I can't let my debts drag you down, maybe it will drag down your job promotion in the future. As long as I can get through this crisis, we can get remarried." Stephan looked into my eyes and his words were full of love and cherishment for me.
The excuse he said couldn't even affect my work. But under the collar of his unbuttoned shirt, there were a few kiss marks vaguely visible.
My eyes suddenly filled with tears and I choked up and asked him, "Stephan, are you really going to have a fake divorce with me because of the company's debt?"
Stephan held my hand tightly, frowning slightly, "Natasha, don't you still believe me? I love you so much, if there is no other choice, how could I choose the path of fake divorce to save you!"
Stephan's eyes were red and I was imprinted in his dark pupils.
Before I opened my mouth, Lilian stood at the door with a suitcase.
"Uncle! I'm back!" she called out excitedly.
She was wearing a bright yellow dress, beautiful, young and energetic. Unlike me, boring and uninteresting.
As soon as she came in, she took Stephan's arm, "Uncle, I'm so tired from the flight."
Lilian pretended to glance at my red eyes and exclaimed, "Aunt, what's wrong with you?"
She pointed at the divorce agreement on the table and covered her mouth deliberately and shouted, "Ah? You want to divorce?"
Stephan frowned, bent down to put away the divorce agreement and touched her head lovingly. "Why are you back? Just arrived?"
The ordinary scene became dazzling in my eyes. The discussion about divorce was interrupted again and I went back to the room on the pretext of feeling uncomfortable. Leaving the two of them, they continued to play the uncle-nephew relationship.
I turned my head and looked at Stephan's study. That was Stephan's private space and he never let anyone in.
As if possessed by a ghost, I pushed open the door. At one glance, I froze in place. In the dim study, the entire wall was covered with Lilian's photos. Stephan recorded all the looks of Lilian from his own perspective. She was cute, pure and sweet, or beautiful and every smile and frown was so moving.
On the bookshelf, the books named after Lilian were full of love for her. Stephan wrote them one by one. I thought Stephan loved me, but he filled his study with another woman.
I couldn't hold back the grievance in my heart anymore and tears fell. Everything in the room was like a huge rock, piling up on my heart, making me breathless. There was a "click" sound and I subconsciously hid behind the bookcase.
"You come back like this, it's easy to interrupt my divorce plan! Don't do this next time."
"I know! But I really want to know what surprise you have hidden for me in the study!" Lilian's voice was sharp and delicate and it made people numb all over.
As soon as the door opened, Lilian was silent. She was stunned like me. But I was sad and she was happy.
"Uncle..." The two looked at each other, Lilian cried and kissed Stephan.
The door was closed and I watched them kissing through the bookcase grid.
"Little darling..." Stephan sighed.
I trembled when I heard the name. It turned out that he called me darling in bed, but he just regarded me as a substitute for Lilian.
I heard the voice of Stephan calling Lilian over and over again. There was a rare lust in his low and cold voice.
It turned out that this was the real Stephan. He was cold and self-restrained on weekdays and he said he respected me, but it turned out that he was just using me!
"When I get divorced, there will be no obstacles between us and no one will say anything."
"Uncle..." Lilian cried even harder and the moans in the room were like a magic sound that made me lose consciousness.
I looked at the two people in the camera of my mobile phone and my heart sank to the bottom of the valley little by little. The last trace of attachment also disappeared with these words. The love that I was once proud of was just a smokescreen for others to secretly move. Bitterness and grief spread in my heart.
I didn’t know when they left the study room and when I came to my senses. I was the only one left in the study room and the damp smell in the room.
I walked back to the room and touched a used condom as soon as I sat down.
When I was watching in a trance and Stephan’s voice came from behind.
“Where did you go? I couldn’t find you just now.” Stephan pretended to hug me, with the sweet fragrance of a girl on his body.
“What’s wrong?” he asked.
I suppressed my nausea and quietly withdrew from his arms. “Divorce... I agree.”
The second half of Stephan’s words was stuck in his throat and he looked at me in disbelief. He turned around and saw the condom on the bed, his face suddenly changed,
"Natasha, this is what we did last time...”
"I know, it was you who used it."
I pretended not to care and threw the condom into the trash can. Stephan stood there, not daring to move. He squatted down, held my hand and said a lot of words to show his loyalty. But I couldn't listen to it at all.
The next day, we went to register for divorce. Until now, Stephan still held my hand and promised to remarry. I looked at the man acting in front of me and my heart was dead.
Stephan, you didn’t have to act like this. Everything was over.
On the day of departure, I simply packed my things, signed the re-drafted divorce agreement and put it on the bedside table. I also put aside another piece of evidence about Stephan's transfer of assets.
When I went downstairs, I saw Lilian nestled in Stephan's arms, smiling harmlessly.
"Aunt, you're awake! Look, this is the new dress my uncle bought for me."
I nodded with a fake smile and took a bite of the bread on the table. "Your uncle is so good to you. I have something else to do at the station, I'll go first."
Before I walked out, Lilian stopped me, "Aunt, take a day off today, we'll take you somewhere in the morning!"
I was just thinking of refusing when Lilian pushed me into the car.
In the car, she and Stephan were chatting enthusiastically. And I had nothing to connect with. Stephan and I were not from the same class, we met because of a case. His pursuit of me was still a mystery to this day. Now I knew that it was a trap set for me.
When I arrived at the scene, I realized that today was a piano concert held by Stephan for Lilian. Lilian, wearing a dress, hugged and kissed them enthusiastically and she was very graceful throughout the whole process.
Stephan stood behind her, a perfect match made in heaven. I was wearing an ordinary T-shirt and police pants, blending in with the crowd. I kept backing away because of discomfort and awkwardness.
Until someone in the crowd glanced at me, "Lilian, is this the piano-cleaning servant you brought? She looks a little stupid."
As soon as the words fell, everyone looked at me and laughed.
And Stephan was in the crowd, looking at me, "Natasha, go and check Lilian's piano."
With just one sentence, he casually confirmed that I was the servant.
