Chapter 3

She was dressed in a turtleneck dress with pants. She had to go to work because she had a parent to support in the province and she needed to make a living here in Manila. She was not requesting money or anything else from Hudson.

"Our manager informed you that Mr. Malcogn had called you. Oh, what a lunatic! What did you do this time?" Freia immediately opened her mouth for her. Her eyebags were darkening, indicating that she had only been sleeping for a few hours.

She rolled her eyes and went to the office of their company's big boss without saying anything. Mr. Malcogn only shows up once a month. Maybe it was too important to say, and she forgot she was with her boss's wife the day before.

When she entered Mr. Malcogn's large private office, he was facing a large portrait of his wife. She smiled inwardly. Who would believe this man is madly in love with his wife?

"Sir?”

It gave her a look. When he saw her, he gave her a small nod and pointed to the chair in front of her desk. She thanked him and sat down. She had no idea what he required because, after all, she was just another employee.

Mr. Malcogn reached for her files, and she looked at it, surprised, and opened what was in the folder. When she read her promotion, she was taken aback for a moment. Was what she read accurate? She's been promoted to supervisor?! Wait a minute... She only works as an Administrative Assistant. How did she get a job when she was only a year old? Something appears to be wrong...

"What you've read is accurate, Ms. Sahada. I personally promoted you. I saw your track record and dedication to your work, and it inspired me to make you our new supervisor. One more thing: it's in the United States. The company's liabilities are housing and transportation." He said it directly, which added to her confusion.

"Wait, sir, I'm not opposed to the promotion, but America? I mean, there are more qualified—"

"Are you saying you're ineligible?"

“Yes! No way. I mean, Sir..."

"Five of these companies, as well as Ms. Freia, the Marketing Assistant, will be sent to the United States. No need to worry, it's only a matter of time, perhaps two or six months depending on how you deal with the people out there." Mr. Malcogn seemed to think as he rotated the ballpen.

She was unable to respond. Why, instead of being happy, did she feel so depressed? She appeared to be on the verge of crying at any moment. She couldn't figure it out, as if something was wrong.

"I interpret your silence as a yes. Good morning, Ms. Sahada. You may return to your office, please." He opened the laptop, and all of its attention was drawn to it.

She said her goodbyes politely and floated out of his office. She was filled with a variety of emotions. Previously, she desired to be promoted and travel to America; however, why does she not appear to be happy now that her wish has been granted? It was as if half of her heart and life were going to be lost. God!

She had to inform Hudson of this.

Is it, however, truly necessary?

She decided to pay Hudson a visit at his private office at the Hayes Group of Hospitals in Makati City. It had been three days since she last saw him and he had punished her in the car, and no Hudson had appeared at her door. During those three days, she had the opportunity to consider telling him about her situation, their child in her womb, and her quick promotion.

He was wearing a doctor's coat and a stethoscope around his neck, she noticed. Even though he rarely smiles, he is quite attractive. She wouldn't be surprised if he was named one of the world's hottest doctors. Maybe Hudson took everything and caught it when God showered grace on the air.

He's just right for her. Its square jaw exudes grace, as do its thick brows, lashes, and emerald eyes, which intimidate every woman. His perfect pointed nose, which appears to have been sculpted by a great sculptor. his luscious sinful lips, which all women adore. A living representation of a Greek god. It's no surprise that so many people pursued the young doctor. Everything was given to him, including fame, money, and good looks.

Hudson cast a sidelong glance at her before returning his attention to the documents that had been checked. "What brings you here? Have I not told you that I don't want to be disturbed unless I give you permission?" He growled and appeared unconcerned.

She wore her mask as if she wasn't affected, but the pain of what he said was almost unbearable. "Hudson, we need to talk."

"Make it quick. After 20 minutes, I have a meeting." He glanced at his watch before returning his attention to the documents he was reading.

She was about to say something when his secretary walked in. Another secretary, based on what she saw the last time, and this time, his secretary wore much more revealing clothing. Its cleavage was so obvious that it almost spit out her breast, and the skirt was too short. Abhaya simply ignored it, but she was taken aback when it whispered to Hudson while caressing his shoulder.

Directly in front of her?! Wow!

She pretended not to notice what his secretary had done. After all, she's just Hudson's fucking pal. Even though she wanted to explode and hit the secretary with a pipe, she kept herself calm.

"Didn't you say you'd bring me to your yacht today?"

What?

Abhaya could hear her words even though they were spoken in hushed tones. She tried to relax by remembering the child in her womb. She didn't want to be upset.

"Yes, baby, give me a minute to finish this and I'll take you there." Hudson gave the woman a kiss on the lips.

Her face turned bright red as a result of what she witnessed. There's a sting in her heart, as if the tears she's been holding back will burst at any moment. She managed a loud sigh, they looked at her, and the woman rolled her eyes at her. The secretary was not even embarrassed by her presence, despite the fact that she was more beautiful than her.

"Give me a few minutes to talk to her." Hudson said this while giving his final kiss.

The woman exited with a graceful nod. If she hadn't just used an overly intimidating aura and mentioned Mr. Malcogn's name, his secretary wouldn't have let her in earlier.

Ah, a meeting! She wanted to sarcastically laugh.

"How can you be so cold-hearted?" She began. Her voice was devoid of emotion, but she was dying from pain on the inside. She was still standing about two meters in front of him.

Hudson refused to budge and continued to read the documents on the table. “Why? Are you shocked? You know what you've gotten yourself into, Abhaya."

She bit her lower lip so hard it hurt. "Anyway, let's jump to my—" she wanted to cry but stopped herself.

"Yes, what exactly is it? Promotion?" he cut him off and looked at her, clearly bored by her presence. Yes, I heard you got promoted. "Are you not happy"

She couldn't say anything because she was staring at him. So, how come she forgot Hudson and her boss were business partners? She took a deep breath and found herself unable to speak for a few seconds. She has something else to say besides the promotion... And the child in her womb has a right to know who its father is.

"I'm pregnant for two and a half months." She said it directly and dropped the test and prescription from her OB-Gyne at his table.

She couldn't tell what Hudson was thinking. He just stared at her, emotionless. He came to a halt for a moment and didn't even look at the test results that she had placed on the expensive glass table.

"I allowed you to use birth control pills to avoid pregnancy." "How is this possible?"

True, he allowed her to use pills, but when they were on his yacht for three days before, she forgot to take the pills. She stopped taking pills after that because Hudson was in London the next day and would be gone for three weeks.

"I stopped using it," she replied fearlessly, but the pain nearly killed her.

Hudson twisted his upper lip as he took the test result. "What exactly do you want?" And look at her like she's a harlot.

Abhaya stared at him intently, as if Hudson was probing into her personality. She bit her lower lip and faked a laugh in response to what he said. She didn't come here to be held accountable; she simply wanted him to be aware of her situation.

“Nothing. I've just come to tell you that I'm pregnant—" He didn't let her finish because he interrupted her.

"How much do you want from me in terms of money? Ten million? 50 million people? Slut, you name it. I know I'm not the father of that child," he said angrily to her.

"I'm not here to—"

"Oh, please! Abhaya, sever the fucking fucking fucking fucking fucking Set your own price. How much do you cost?"

It was as if a bomb had gone off, and she was unable to speak. The old mask she was wearing vanished in an instant. She was like a candle that was slowly being consumed, and her pain was visible on her face. At the same time, the tears she had been holding back began to fall in torrents, like rain. She didn't say anything, and before she could slap the man she loved with all her heart, she turned around and ran to the door.

Yes, she dashed to the elevator, tears in her eyes. Her heart was breaking, and she felt as if it had been abandoned in the man's office. She wasn't expecting what Hudson said. In agony, the earth nearly swallowed him. It's fine not to hold her accountable; she just went to tell him she's pregnant, not to make it appear as if he could afford to pay her a lot of money and tell her she's a flirt and she's not carrying his child. Really?!

This is how low he regards her personality, as if she had been carved by disease. Hudson has been the only man she has truly loved her entire life, but fate was not on her side. Love is now playing tricks on her; karma is truly digital, but why is it so painful? It hurts too much when fate plays tricks on you.

"Miss, are you all right?"

She did not respond to the questions she was asked in the ground-floor hallway after exiting the elevator. She simply ran and ran to get out of there. She smears the tears that fall from her eyes, but they continue to fall like rain.

She had no idea where she was going; she simply let her foot lead her. She just kept running, and she wanted to thank the weather for the sudden downpour.

But a strong brakes stirred her spirit and brought her to a halt. Only then did she realize she was in the middle of the road and her body was being thrown away. She felt as if she had gone numb as a result of the strong collision. A few grains of sand slipped from her eyes, along with the agonizing pain in her womb. She couldn't feel anything for a few moments, everything in her went black, and she couldn't hear anything around her.

Chapter 4

THE four white corners of the room were the first thing that Abhaya noticed. She stood there for a long time, staring at the ceiling, wondering what had happened to her. Yes, she remembered... she was hit by a car, and then there was a long period of darkness.

She looked at her own hand, which had dextrose stuck in it and one arm that couldn't move. Then it dawned on her that she had broken a bone as a result of the plaster cast that had been applied. She wanted to feel her own stomach, but she couldn't because when she looked to the right side of the room, she saw the man who had caused everything to go wrong. She rolled her eyes and returned her gaze to the ceiling. She immediately felt tears well up in her eyes, no matter how hard she tried to keep them from falling. She could hear him approaching her slowly. He was wearing a white Doctor's coat in her peripheral vision.

"You've been sleeping in this bed for two weeks. I'm glad you decided to wake up," he said flatly, before checking her vital signs.

She didn't respond and pretended not to hear, but she frowned when she realized what Hudson had said.

What exactly is she? Two weeks of sleep? How long did she sleep... What happened during her unconsciousness for a week? Wait... No... No…

"How is my baby" It was almost a whisper when it came out of her mouth, because she was still very weak.

She wanted to yell at him, but she couldn't because she was still weak. While she waited for an answer, her tears began to fall.

"It's gone"

Two words, but they hit her like a bomb. No! No... No... he's just joking. Her baby had no reason to fall out of her womb. No, she was becoming hysterical. Her eyes were welling up with tears at all times. She is unable to accept it! No!

"P-please, aren't you just lying?" She pleaded as her tears streamed uncontrollably.

God! It hurts! Please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please She knew Hudson couldn't accept her pregnancy and that she could live on her own without his assistance. Hudson had no reason to tell her that the life that had once existed in her womb had died. He's deceiving her! Hudson has no right to say such a thing.

"The baby is gone, Abhaya."

Despite her weakness, she stood up and quickly felt her stomach with one hand with dextrose hanging on it. Hudson quickly stopped her, but she refused to take his hand in hers. He has no right to touch or sympathize with her.

She clenched her fist and screamed in agony, but no voice came out of her throat. She couldn't raise her voice, despite her desire to yell and drive Hudson away. He's a true demon! She lost her baby as a result of an accident, and no one can blame her except the man in front of her.

"Stop crying, it's all happened," he said matter-of-factly.

If she had the strength now, she would have slapped Hudson and punched him in the face. How could it tell her everything so succinctly that the life she was living in her womb seemed meaningless? How? Was it enjoyable because she was obtained by chance? She now believes Hudson lacks a heart because he is a demon from the farthest reaches of shell.

"Get the hell out. Get out!" she yelled out loud when she could finally hear her own voice, her tears still falling.

He looked at her and considered what she had said.

"I despise you, Hudson! Please leave. I never want to see your face again. Leave... Leave! " Her entire body trembled in pain and rage.

She was in tears. She will never fall in love with the wrong person again. Her baby's death is much more painful, and it is killing her. Her baby has a firm grip on her. Hudson is entirely to blame!

Throughout her life, she did not appear to be wealthy. Yes, she came from a poor family, but that was no reason to buy her money. Because she could never be bought with money for her dignity and character. She simply got caught up in something complicated, and in the end, she was the loser. She's a moron! She now believes that her stupidity is what has caused her pain.

Instead of Hudson following her request and leaving her in that lonely room, a needle pierced her arm, and before she knew what had been injected into her, she felt the weight of her eyelid and strong forces pulling her to sleep.

"I... I hate y-you..." she said softly, and she felt his strong arm catch her.

WHEN she opened her eyes again and stared straight at the ceiling, she felt nothing but emptiness. She was alone in that white room when she noticed a flower basket on one side. She gave a bitter smile as tears streamed down her cheeks.

"Abhaya!" Vraiellah rushed up to her and hugged her as she walked in. "Cuhen and Herrence mentioned you, so I rushed here."

She cried, especially in front of the woman, and responded with a hug, crying and crying. She has nothing to cling to, and she is grateful that a new friend in the person of Ellah has visited her so that she no longer needs to wear a mask to hide the pain she is experiencing. She was too tired to act.

She also cried for nearly an hour on Ellah's shoulder while she stroked her hair. She simply stopped crying when she felt she had nothing else to cry about and was exhausted. Ellah sympathetically extended her hand as she leaned back on the bed.

"Abhaya," he begins.

"I... Lost m-my baby..."

"Please,' don't bring it up first. It'll be more painful with you," Ellah predicted.

She gave a bitter smile. Since she entered Hudson's life, when has her life been good? "Ellah, it's fine that he won't hold me accountable, but... But..." her tears flowed once more. She assumed her tear ducks were already dry.

Ellah quickly wiped her tears away and comforted her. Ellah's presence reminded her of a sister, which made her cry even harder. But she couldn't accept that there was no longer any, that the angel she had named had vanished, even though she didn't know whether it was boy or a girl. She wasn't even allowed to kiss it.

Her mind is awake, and she is not sleepy. She could tell it was night because of the clock on the wall. It is 11:14 p.m. Ellah, who had been caring for her, had already left, so she gave her milk and peeled an apple to fill her stomach with something.

But she's deafeningly deafeningly deafening She gave a wry smile and stood up. It's a good thing Hudson didn't show up that day because she despised him. This is why she had to give up everything. Everything! Hudson broke not only her heart, but also her life.

She examined her hand with an IV, and despite the fact that her left hand was plaster cast, she forced herself to remove the object that was stuck in her right hand. She also took out the oxygen tube that was attached to her nose. She gets rid of everything that is clinging to her.

She was only aware of pain. She smiled bitterly, enjoying the numbness she felt. She tried to stand up by lowering her foot to the cold marble. She began by weighing herself if she could, and then she began to move. There's no reason to stay in this hospital for too long. She wants to get out of this crazy room because she can't stay in this lonely room any longer.

No one noticed her as she walked down the cold corridor. Her foot went directly to the elevator, but instead of going to the ground floor, she went to the rooftop. She just wanted to feel the breeze and yell so loudly that no one could hear her. She ignored the blood dripping from her hand from the IV she had just pulled.

Abhaya was greeted by a strong and cold wind, but she couldn't feel the cold because she was completely numb. She couldn't feel the air, but she could feel the extreme pain in the depths of her heart, and tears fell, indicating how much she is hurting right now. When she looked up, she noticed that the bright moon was now staring at her.

“Why? Why did you allow all of this to happen to'me'? What are your justifications? W-why?"

"Don't ask the moon; it never answers."

She came to a halt in her sobbing and turned to face the source of the voice. She noticed a man standing on the side of the road in her hazy vision. It will fall from its lofty perch with just one wrong step.

"Are you going to jump?" she asked, her voice trembling. She didn't want to be present when someone committed suicide right in front of her eyes.

It just shrugged. "No," he said flatly, not even looking her in the eyes.

She wiped away her tears. "What is the point of standing there? If you make one wrong move, you will die."

"It's just like life; one wrong step and everything is ruined. Don't worry, I'm just admiring the scenery," he admitted openly. "Every day, life fucked us, but the secret is to learn to fuck back or you'll get fucked up."

She was unable to respond to anything he said, so she simply stared at him.

"Try coming here and seeing the beautiful scenery, you will see all of the beautiful surroundings. However, if you're at the bottom and try to look around, you'll run into a stumbling block. The beauty is visible, but not the entire picture." It paused and mumbled for a moment. "You've lost a child; make one. Fate was messing with you, you should figure out how to deal with it. Finally, muster the courage to fight back. It is okay to cry, but it is not okay to give up. That's the answer you were hoping for earlier."

Tears welled up in her eyes as he said those words. He was right, and she had no idea who he was. She averted her gaze, embarrassed for herself, because everything it said struck a chord in her soul. It was a wake-up call for her, but why can't she accept what happened, or does she simply refuse to accept?

She took a step back to her starting point. "T-thank you," she said, but her heart was still pounding. How could she hurt Hudson when he was a demon disguised as a human?

"My family was ambushed, and I was the only survivor."

In response to the man's sad voice, she came to a halt and closed her eyes. It hurt even more, but she said nothing; she simply let it speak for itself.

"I finally killed those cretinous terrorists who murdered my family a long time ago."

"What do you mean?" she inquired, her gaze fixed on it. She realized he had to say something to her.

"Do you want to fight back, forget everything, and get away from reality?" He took a step back and faced her, his hands clasped in his black pants. It wasn't until now that she noticed it was dressed inside with a white shirt overlaid with a leather jacket. Despite the fact that he was a stranger, she was unafraid of him. "Take my hand in yours." It reached out its hand. "And I'll help you."

She saw hope in that is waiting for her when she looked at his hand. Because of the pain she was feeling, she approached it slowly and without hesitation, reaching for its open palm. She was unconcerned about what happened the next day or the day after that.

Chapter 5

CUHEN and Azael, the newcomers, were given a dead welcome by Hudson. He's working on something on his laptop and hasn't found any answers yet. He was becoming increasingly bored. His mastery of hacking and breaching firewalls in the world's databases couldn't help him find a person he'd been trying to contact for nearly two years. He couldn't find any leads that would help him. Damn! He wanted to squish and slice his laptop. His shit AI robot couldn't even provide him with shit! All files have been removed. He didn't receive a single piece of data.

"What brings the two of you here?"

"Are you still looking for her?" Azael chuckled.

He didn't say anything. He quickly shut down the laptop and took out a cigarette, which he lit in front of his two friends, who was sitting comfortably on his office couch.

"Azael, you nailed it. Herrence is still looking for that runaway Abhaya," Cuhen laughed out loud, claiming that Cuhen only laughs once in a blue moon. Odd. Love has a unique effect on people.

Love? In the case of his bestfriend Cuhen, maybe. He isn't a believer in the fucking shite known as love. Everyone has their own set of beliefs, and he's clearly missing something. He's most likely not human. He believes every woman who calls him a heartless devil. It would be much better if they referred to him as a robot.

"I'm going to take a break on my yacht." Dupes, I'll see you around."

His two idiotic friends laughed. He simply shrugged and walked away. He will never run out of money, even if he does not work as a doctor or a businessman for a year. Millions of dollars are still pouring into his business and hospital accounts. He's a young hot Doctor and Businessman, so he can't blame the women who want to seduce him at the age of 29.

How many women have attempted to bind him around his neck? He couldn't count them, and it was all because of his wealth. Women, their fucking lies, and their avarice. He would never let them use him; instead, he would use them and discard them.

He was sleeping inside his yacht, which was now moored in the middle of the ocean. He pondered but was unable to do so until someone trying to shot him. Damn! He knelt and crawled into the room quickly. He took the powerful type of weapon that had been hidden. Bullshit! Someone seemed to want to kill him again at that time.

He cast a quick glance at his opponent, but due to the darkness, he couldn't see even one of them. What the hell is going on here? He appears to be unsure of what will happen next. He had an odd sensation. He dashed to his yacht's secret passage, which was equipped with a small personal single submarine. After a few minutes, he felt the yacht explode from a few meters away, and he gasped in annoyance. Whoever attacked him now, all he could say was that they were hell-bent on killing him. But there's no way! He'll retaliate.

ABHAYA is looking at the right side of the sea. It's been nearly two years since she disappeared completely like a bubble. No one knows where she is, not even her family, but she sent all of her savings and a personal letter stating that she will be gone for months, if not a year. Then she pretended to be someone who had gone missing. Nobody knows whether she is alive or dead. Yx is the only one who sends money anonymously to her family for daily expenses.

"Kienne, Yx is calling you," Jackylyn awoke from her reverie.

They are very close. She recalls the girl being bloodied and scarred when she arrived on the island last year, and she was among those who showed up to watch.

"Has he shown up yet? Didn't I think he was in Russia looking for his next target?" She shifted her gaze to her companion.

"Go to his office. Perhaps Yx will assign us something!" Her face lit up and ecstatic about what was said.

She burst out laughing. It was just a new assignment. She said her goodbyes to Jackylyn and walked a few meters to Yx's office. She is well acquainted with Yx. It was as if they were best friends, with a wall between them.

Yx was the man who assisted her that night, and she is now a woman who is not afraid to face the world. She was able to keep up even though she was wearing a mask. The Abhaya woman who used to be a fool has changed dramatically. She is the woman who can and will kill anyone who stands in her way.

As she sat in the chair in front of her desk, she called out the man's name, "Yx."

It looked up the information and then quickly returned to the folder being read. Before it spoke, there was a brief moment of silence. It's Yx's nature that when they talk, it's as if she's being eaten alive by its eyes.

"New assignment," he said, "And this one isn't too dangerous. All you have to do is ensure his safety... ”

"Wait-wait, his?" She emphasizes the 'his' part and raises an eyebrow.

Yx gave a nod. "Right, 'his'. You and Jackylyn will be responsible for keeping an eye on this man from now on. To be honest, he can defend himself, but his parents hired a bodyguard to protect him with or without his consent. Jacky will apply for the position of secretary, and you, in turn, are the appropriate bodyguard. And, yes, this man is unaware of our scope of work. Nobody is aware that we are highly classified agents. Nobody knows who we are or what we represent. All you and Jackylyn have to do is keep thim safe at all costs."

She was bored and just stared at the ballpen Yx was holding. Why hire them us bodyguard? She didn't like that type of work, so she was disappointed.

"He's a busy man, and many people are trying to kill him, and it's up to you and Jacky to figure out who is behind who wants to kill him."

She gave a nod. Deal. She doesn't mind whatever project or assignment Yx assigns them as long as it's challenging. But, in any case, Yx ordered it, and it was as simple as pie for her. One of the most difficult things they did was join Yx in raiding the major drug syndicates in China. They nearly caught her and shot her in the stomach.

She accepted the assignment without first reviewing the profile of the person she needed to protect 24 hours a day, seven days a week. She simply went out and went to the sea. Jackylyn will handle those reading stuff.

When she escaped from the hospital that night with Yx, he led her to this island. She counted about thirty people on the island, all of whom were training and sparring with one another. There, she discovered that Yx was an ex-army member. When his wife and son died, he exacted his vengeance and formed a clandestine organization.

Mostly with agents like her, who have no real experience and have only developed talent and skills as a result of a traumatic past. That is what drove them to remain firm and fight like a thief in the dark. Nobody is going to notice.

That is not the case with Yx. In fact, he is in her late thirties. He's both handsome and stunning. It's ironic because nearly every female agent has a crush on him. She was nothing at all.

Neither was the training she had taken for granted. Tears and pain became an investment for her just to get to this point. She trains all hours of the day and night, from the fundamentals to survival. How to use a gun, a knife, a sword, and how to kill with only one hand and one foot. She isn't very good at cyber, so she always has a partner, and that partner is Jackylyn.

Abhaya drive the car that Yx had given them. While Jackylyn examines the folder containing the background of the person they will be watching. Mostly, Jackylyn tells her what she needs to know. She is a slacker when it comes to reading, which irritates her at times.

They stopped in front of a big mansion worth millions of dollars. Jackylyn no longer accompanying her inside. After all she's the only one needed. Jackylyn is like a lookout. Yx was no longer with her because he was flying to China the next day, and Yx was confident in their abilities.

She wore red stilettos, a red spaghetti top, a white faux leather jacket, and sexy high waist jeans. Her body is curved, and she does not appear to be an undercover agent. She look like a run away model. She's not the same person she used to be. Who would have guessed she'd act like this now, as if she owned the world?

She was still wearing sunglasses when she went inside, where the maid directed her after she said her fictitious name. She rolled her eyes at the house's luxury, but she didn't have time for it.

She noticed a man and woman in their late 60s in the living room. She quickly approached them and shook their hands after introducing herself as the one sent by Yx. She looked around, hoping to spot the man she'd be watching so she could finish the job.

"We know our son will be upset, especially since we took a girl, but we don't have a choice; we desperately need it. He almost died and was burned inside the yacht the other day," said the lady, clearly upset by the incident.

After all, what mother isn't concerned about the safety of her child? "I understand you, Mrs—" She took off her sunglasses and wait for it to reply.

“Mrs. Hayes. ”

She was flabbergasted and drew back her tongue. Her heart skipped a beat when she heard the lady's last name. Hayes? She was shaken, and maybe it was just a coincidence that her last name was the same as the man she no longer wanted to see. Who cares? She was no longer interested in the man.

"You can rely on me, Mrs. Hayes. I solemnly promised that we'd do everything to protect your son," she said flatly, but everything she said was true.

"Thank you Ms. Kianna Trunt, we're glad to hear that," the couple said at the same time.

"Who is she?" A voice echoed through the house like thunder and lightning.

She stood up and turned around gracefully to introduce herself to the man, bringing her world to a halt for a brief moment. The man in front of her now was the man she didn't want to see again, the man she had cursed to die!

She immediately removed the shock and reapplied the mask, which should not have been used because she had buried it for a long time. She pretended not to recognize him and smiled sweetly at him.

I'm going to kill you on this one, Yx. This is complete nonsense. She screamed in her head.

She could see the shock in Hudson's eyes when he saw her and obviously couldn't believe the sight of her beauty. She wanted to laugh sarcastically; it was impossible that Hudson still knew her, and just in case, she might hang a medal around his neck with great verve. It should be honored for that!

"Hello, my name is Kianna Trunt! Your personal assistant, also known as your bodyguard. Nice to meet you, Doctor Hayes," she said emphatically. She is disgusted even when she pronounces his name. Hudson's face was expressionless as she stared at him and stepped closer to her.

"Son, we hired—"

"Don't worry, Mom, she's hired," he said, interrupting his mother.

The two elders were stunned and looked at each other, obviously unable to believe what they were witnessing, but they did not speak any further. Excitement can be seen in their eyes, and it appears that they had no hesitation in agreeing to escort her.

"What's your name again?" Hudson sat on the single sofa.

She sat up and smiled with no emotion. "Kiana Trunt."

It stared her down as if he was reading her, and she just let him because Hudson could never read her. If she'd known Hudson was the man they're protecting, she'd never agreed to this assignment!

"You look familiar," he said flatly.

"Really?" She didn't want to answer him, but she didn't have a choice.

"I believe we should leave. Bye, son. We're still going to see Cuhen's twin. Kiana, we'll go first. Thank you once again." Ahis parents say as they wave her goodbye. She only nodded.

She was awed by the news that Ellah and Cuhen had twins and secretly smiled, happy for the couple. How would Ellah react if they saw each other? It's ironic because this is her first assignment in the Philippines. She mostly digs her own grave abroad.

Hudson immediately let her come to his meetings. Surprisingly, Hudson never complained about her role as his bodyguard, despite the fact that she is a woman. Pfff! Maybe it's one of those women he hurt before who are trying to kill him now. Protecting him? She wanted to laugh. She might have backed out if it hadn't been for Yx and if she had just read the information.

They were sitting alongside in the passenger seat, both silent. She and the young Doctor both just stared straight ahead. This is the most difficult assignment she has ever had! Her fist was clenched. Why, of all people, is she still here with the person she still despises?

"What agency do you work for, Ms. Trunt?"

She twisted her eyeball in private. She would rather not speak, but since he is now the boss, she's obligated to answer every question.

"Ask your mother about it, Doctor Hayes."

He gave her a surprised look, but she ignored it. She's too tired to give a damn.

"She looks exactly like you," he said later, his gaze fixed on the road.

She did not respond. She simply looked ahead and hoped that they would arrive at their destination. The only thing that bothers her is that she watches him 24 hours a day, seven days a week, which means she can always see Hudson.

She tried to sneak a glance at him and read him with her eyes, but nothing changed; Hudson was difficult to read. Abhaya noticed that the man had changed a lot during her nearly two-year absence. It grew even hotter and more devilishly handsome. His hair was a mess on top, and the scent of the aftershave indicated that he had just shaved. She was shaken as she remembered the man was a demon.
