Chapter 1

EMMA

"Emma, you have to say yes to marrying me. I thought we both wanted this? We already got our parents' approval so I don’t really understand what your hesitation is about.” Jake, my boyfriend said as he trapped my face in-between his palms to brush his lips slightly across mine.

To my understanding I love him, I felt like I do but marriage seemed like such a big step, it sounded far more serious than something I can just say yes to right off the bat. Why am I overthinking this anyway? Jake loves me, he shows me that everyday even though our relationship had been arranged by our parents.

He would never hurt me, that’s for sure so where the heck are these hesitations coming from? The first time he proposed, I had a solid excuse because we were still in college then but that has been over for months now and he’s asking me again.

Inhaling deeply, I stepped out of his embrace, breaking contact before he attempted to deepen the kiss. Pain flashed briefly across his eyes that tugged at my heart, I felt guilty for how much my hesitation seemed to be hurting him.

“You know I want a future with you Jake, more than anything but marriage is such a big step and—I don’t think I’m ready for it yet.” My words faded as his face set into an annoyed grimace.

“You’ve known me half your life, what’s scary about being married to me?” He inquired, folding his arms across his chest while also pinning me with a look that demanded an explanation. “You act like you’re marrying a stranger.”

“You’re not getting my point.” I let out a frustrated sigh, he never seemed to understand me despite having known each other for so long. I ran my fingers frustratingly into my hair, realizing that no matter how hard I tried to explain, I may never be able to get my point across to him.

His eyes followed the movement of my hand, a silent disapproval in his sharp brown eyes. He doesn’t like when I play with my hair, a habit I developed while I was younger. I let go of it, not wanting to listen to another lecture from him about how it isn’t demure for a girl to play with her hair.

“What’s your point?” He stepped closer to me, invading my personal space.

“You know how my Dad never lets me out of the bubble I grew up in, I was hoping for a little freedom to explore the world after college, I can’t do that if I’m married to you.”

He chuckled, grasping my hands. “Is that what you are so worried about? Being married doesn’t stop you from exploring the world Emma, we get to tour it together, isn’t that exciting?” He asked, his smile widening into a big one that immediately put me at ease.

“Well, guess I was worried about nothing then. I would love to tour the world with you Jake.” I leaned forward to kiss him but he already went down on one knee, a small ring box in his hand.

“Emma Dane, marry me.” I frowned at the statement, getting proposed to at a park wasn’t how I imagined my dream proposal nor was this how I imagined getting asked.

There was a long pause as he waited for my reply.

“Yes.” I whispered after a while, he immediately slips the ring into my finger and uncaring where we were or who was watching, he carries me and then spins me around, yelling she said yes! This caught a lot of people’s attention and soon clapping and cheering filled the air.

He put me back on my feet just as I got the strange sensation that I was being watched, I turned sharply around but saw no one. I glanced at my arms, at the goosebumps which confirmed that I didn’t imagine it. Jake soon noticed my puzzlement and gave me a puzzled look, probably thinking I was having an afterthought about the proposal.

Feeling like I had to assure him that wasn’t the case, I told him. “I just have this weird feeling that someone is watching me but it could just be my bodyguard though.” I quickly dismissed it, not wanting him to think otherwise and worry because then, Dad would hear about it and it would just put more locks on the prison cell I was trying to escape.

Our wedding happened a week later, everything was prepared and chosen for me down to my wedding dress. Our parents got a whole bunch of people involved in it that all I had to do was show up. I didn’t want to sound ungrateful or anything especially toward the people who clearly put a lot of effort into the extravagant wedding.

I didn’t like any of it, down to my wedding dress. Everything feels like it was for someone else and I was just filling in for them and you’d think it will take longer to plan something so elaborate but my Dad made sure it happened exactly when he wanted it to, which is in a week.

“You look the picture of a perfect bride.” My cousin remarked, letting down my veil. As my best friend and only friend as a matter of fact, she’s my maid of honor. That was the only part of my wedding I had the choice of choosing.

I forced a smile. “At least someone thinks so.”

“C’m on Emma, not everyone gets to marry their dream guy who happens to be drop dead gorgeous and filthy rich! You’ve hit the jackpot!” She replied, causing my smile to turn real.

A trumpet sound filled the air, indicating it was time to start making my way to the church. We were staying at a hotel close to the chapel so I wouldn't get stuck in traffic, Dad always treats everything like work so it isn’t much of a surprise that he would do the same for my wedding.

As we drove to church, I clutched my bouquet tightly due to nerves. I glanced at Katie, hoping she had any comforting words to offer.

“It’s okay to be nervous.” She whispered, which isn’t comforting in the least.

“How would you know? You’ve never been married.” I pointed out.

“Well, I just know stuff.” She shrugged, giving me a tight smile.

The car pulled to a stop and one of the bodyguards came forward to open the passenger door. I carefully came out with Katie’s help to find my Dad already waiting for me. A proud fatherly smile on his face, he rarely smiles and I was a bit relieved he decided to put one on today for me.

“You’ve made me proud.” That was a first too.

I wanted to hug him but instead I settled for putting my head briefly on his shoulder and as we started the walk down the aisle, I removed my head from his shoulder starting right ahead at my soon to be husband, who by the way looked dashing in an elegant black suit.

Just as Dad was giving me away to Jake, something drew my attention to the entrance and when I looked, a tall masculine man was making his way in. He looked so out of place, my lips parted unconsciously as I stared at him approaching the altar.

I couldn’t tear my eyes from him even though I wanted to, by now I wasn’t the only one who had taken notice of this dark handsome brooding stranger. People whispered among themselves as more men poured into the room, the closer he got to me, the wildly my heart beat as if it was trying to jump out of my chest.

His eyes held most of my attention, they were midnight black with a hint of blue in them, I have never seen eyes like his and they pull and push me in like a magnet. My body felt so electrified, I was so aware of him in a way that I haven’t been aware of anyone in my life including Jake.

Without words, he stopped directly in front of me, outstretching his hand in front of me. A silence gesture that seemed to compel me because in the following second, my hand moved.

“Who the fuck are you dude!” Jake's angry voice broke whatever spell I was under, causing me to immediately jerk my hand back.

“Jet.” There was something about his voice that made me flushed, the deep authoritative monotone sending signals down my body.

“What the fuck is your business here? If you’re here for the wedding then stay in the fucking audience!” Jake barked, looking slightly dangerous at that moment.

Both men glared at each other, a silent challenge between them. The tension in the air was so thick, it’s suffocating at this point so I decided to end it by asking the stranger. “You shouldn’t be here, guests stay in the audience.” I gestured toward the audience in case he missed it on his way in.

Shifting his attention from Jake back to mine, I watched his gaze soften. “Mine.”

‘MINE’ the word echoed in my mind as I froze there like a statue. This is all too confusing for me, the feeling this stranger aroused in me was more than curiosity and it’s freaking me out. Unmoved by my hesitation, he stepped forward but Jake was quicker, cutting in front of me and shielding me away from him.

Unimpressed by this, an animalistic sound seemed torn from his chest before he hit Jake across the chest. My mouth opened on a silent scream as Jake flew past the priest and crashed at the back of the altar.

”Anyone that tries to stop me from claiming what’s mine shall meet their end today!” The threat was followed by some piercing scream from the audience as they scattered towards the entrance.

From the corner of my eyes, I could see my parents taking several steps away from me, I looked around watching as people were emptied from the church including the freaking priest! No! I swallowed back the angry tears, glaring at the stranger I demanded angrily.

“What the hell is wrong with you!”

“You.” He replied, his full lips curving into a smirk.

Why am I looking at his lips? “You think this is funny?” I motioned around the empty hall.

“I do not care, you should be with me. You belong to me.” He answered, briefly dismissing me to look at one of his men. A moment of silence passed between them before he started walking away from me.

‘Come back here’ I wanted to scream, after what he just did, he didn’t get to walk away like nothing happened. I let out a startled scream as one of his men flung me over his shoulder and carried me out after him.

I looked back at my parents, at Jake for help but the stranger’s men were holding them back making me realize I was on my own. Oh my freaking God! I’m getting kidnapped! The realization made me scream louder!

Chapter 2

EMMA

Despite my cries and pleas, I was thrown into an awaiting car that drove off as soon as I was inside. I banged on the window, cursing at the guy who had thrown me over his shoulder to let me out. Somebody should get the police! But when it seemed as though that wasn't going to happen, I settled. I was getting tired of banging on the window, and I hadn't eaten breakfast because I was too excited to chew anything, so I was hungry as well.

I blinked back the tears in my eyes. Glancing beside me, I let out a startled shriek when I saw Jet sitting there. I was so lost in my misery that I hadn't noticed I wasn't in the back seat alone. I couldn't believe he was calmly sitting there, watching me as I yelled and screamed.

"You're enjoying this right?" I asked, glaring at him as I shifted to the end of the seat. If someone happens to open the door, I'd slide right out without any help. Even if my wedding dress might get stuck on the door.

"Hi mate." He grinned, showing a set of white teeth. Why was he grinning like I said something funny? This time, I took my time to look at him properly. I wasn't used to seeing a guy as hot as he was. He looked as though he had just stepped out of the front page of a magazine. His hair was black and so neat, not a strand of it out of place. For someone so dark, or should I say black, his eyes were black with a hint of blue reflecting in them. How is that possible? His eyelashes were surprisingly much too long for a guy, and I was jealous. My lashes could never be that long, no matter how many products I tried using on them.

My eyes dropped down to the sexy fullness of his lips. When I looked up at him again, he was regarding me as well. The shape of his face seemed to be sculpted by a master. Just staring at him made me breathless. I frowned, then quickly looked away from him.

"Had your fill?" He inquired with a smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. I hated the fact that he was smiling in the first place, and also the fact that he was much too good-looking. 'For goodness sake! You've been kidnapped!' I snapped at myself, pulling me out of my trance.

A voice in my head stuck out a tongue at me, 'By a hot guy you mean.' She grinned at me, wanting to jump on Jet's bone. I ignored his question, knowing he was referring to my staring at him. "Where are you taking me?" I asked instead.

"Home," he answered simply.

Can he ever answer with a full sentence? It was getting annoying. "Home? Are you kidding me? You kidnapped me on my wedding day, forced me into a car, just to take me home?" I was confused.

"Home. With me," he replied like he was talking to a child.

"No!" I screamed, "You are taking me away from my home! I'll never forgive you! The police will find you, you will rot in jail! And... Jake will find you!" I spat out angrily at him.

His eyes darkened, the blue in them more evident and scaring the crap out of me.

"Don't. Ever. Mention. His. Name. Again." He grits out between his teeth. I looked down at his hands, they were clenched like he wanted to punch something, or someone. I just hoped it wasn't me.

"Who are you?" I swallowed nervously.

"Did I fucking make myself clear?" He growled, and I let out a scream as tears ran down my face. At the sight of them, his eyes softened, then he looked away from me, inhaling and then exhaling. I stared at him in amazement. How could someone be so beautiful? I couldn't tear my eyes away from his adams apple as it moved up, then down. 'Now I'm just being weird,' I thought.

Finally, he answered, "I told you. I am Alpha Jet."

The car suddenly jerks to a stop and I could hear the sound of a jet buzzing above us. Before I could ask him anything, the door swung open and I rolled out. Luckily, the guy from earlier caught me and then flung me over his shoulder, just like the first time.

"Handle her with care Kale," Jet ordered, walking towards the jet like he fucking owned the place. I have a feeling he does.

"Yes Alpha," Kale replied.

"Put me down you fucker!" I screamed, hitting him on the back as he climbed onto the stairs leading up into the plane. Jet snickered when he heard what I said. I was glad he found this amusing. I just hope he laughs too, when I chop off his balls and have them for dinner.

The guy whose name is Kale, dropped me gently beside Jet before walking away. I noticed only a few people on board.

"Stay still, we are taking off," he warned sternly.

"I hate you," I spat at him.

"I am sure you do," seemingly unaffected by my words, he added, "Hopefully one day, you will not."

"I always will!" I snapped back at him. "What do you want with me?" I asked as tears gathered in my eyes.

"You are mine."

"I'm not yours! Stop saying that! I belong to-," I cut myself off before I say Jake's name, as I remembered his warning and reaction when I did.

"Wise choice," he remarked, seeming to feel rather pleased with himself. I looked away from him. "It is going to be a long journey, you should sleep," he told me rather gently, but I wasn't having it. All of a sudden, I felt tired, my head started to drop, and I fought to keep myself awake. But soon, I drifted off, wishing everything would be just a nightmare by the time I woke up. It would be something I tell Katie, and we will both laugh about it. 'Hopefully...,' was my last thought as I succumbed to sleep.

Chapter 3

EMMA

Suddenly, I blinked awake feeling hungry, tired and puzzled because I had expected all this to be a nightmare. It was then I realised my head was placed on someone's hard, yet comfortable shoulder. I jerked away from him, not believing he let me lay on him for so long, well, sort of because I had no idea how long I was out.

"You are awake," he hummed, dropping the newspaper he was reading on the flight deck. 'Who still reads newspapers?' I glared at him.

"Words Emma," he ordered.

I frowned, staring at him, "How do you know my name?" My eyes widened in surprise. My arm ached, and my whole body was sore. I badly wanted to get out of this dress, but I have nothing to change into. Plus, there was no way I'm going to ask my kidnappers any favours. "And how long are we going to be on this plane?"

"Two days," was all he said, purposely ignoring the first question. "Did you sleep well?" He inquired, staring at me in a way that made me uncomfortable.

"Two freaking days?! Where on earth are you taking me to? You kidnapped me, and are asking me if I slept well? God! I hope you rot in hell. Today happened to be a day every woman dreams of, but thanks to you, it's a nightmare!" I burst out crying for the first time since I got kidnapped. His eyes softened at the sight of my tears, but he made no move to console me.

"You do not want to marry him," he replied in a tone that made me stop crying and look at him. How the hell does he know I didn't want to marry Jake? I do love Jake a lot, don't get me wrong, but I didn't want to marry him so soon. I glance suspiciously at Jet, who is also staring back at me. 'Is he a mind reader or what? I hope not,' I pushed the thoughts aside.

I chuckled, "You think I don't want to marry him? Why would you think not? I am madly in love with him, that is what happens when two people are in love!" I snapped at him. I regretted my outburst almost immediately, and wished I could take it back, especially with the look Jet is giving me now. He looked angrily at me, his mood randomly changing so quickly, I don't know what to expect.

He leaned towards me, fury blazin in his eyes, "Say that again, and watch me go mad," he growled in my face. I gulped nervously, nodding my head in agreement For some reason, I know he isn't a man to be defied. Oh I hate him so much, and will he fucking move back? I wanted badly to say that to him, but I didn't have the courage to. I'm not ready to die yet.

"Good," he nodded, giving me a heartfelt smile. I'm sure he already has half, if not all the women in love with him, and the thought of that makes me feel some strange emotions in my chest. My day has been crazy, maybe that's why I'm feeling crazy. "Your heart knows who it belongs to," he murmured almost to himself, looking thoughtful.

"And you think that is you?" I laughed, "What gives you the notion that I'm yours?" Now I'm curious. He has been saying that ever since he appeared in my life. Did he bring me for someone? Is this guy crazy? Maybe his dead girlfriend looks like me or something? What the fuck is going on? The three hundred and sixty-five days movie? I hope not, cause there is no way... no freaking way I'm going to fall in love with someone like him. There was something so dark and dangerous about this Jet guy, anyone can see that.

"Has anyone ever told you, you talk too much?" He countered.

"Anyone ever told you, you don't talk enough?" I retorted and he grinned at me.

"Feisty," he whispered, his voice strangely deepened which I find extremely exotic. I flushed, embarrassed by my reaction to him.

"You should change," he frowned, as if finally noticing I was still wearing my wedding dress. "I don't like this dress on you," he muttered with disapproval.

"Well bingo! I don't care whether you like it or not!" I retorted, then shut up immediately when he gave me that look, 'Gosh, I hate it so much when he gives me that look.'

"Fine!" I agreed.

"You are getting smarter. Anastasia will take you to the lady's room." I wondered who Anastasia was, before I saw a female flight attendant approaching us. She gave me a brief, professional smile before turning her attention to Jet. I didn't miss the dreamy look on her face as I stood up frowning at her.

"When you are done, can we get moving?" I hissed at her with my arms folded across my chest. She glared at me, and I did the same. Jet raised a confused eyebrow at me, probably not noticing the silent battle going on between his flight attendant and me. Well, that's a good thing. I'm going to ruin his chance at getting any woman he wants since he's keeping me away from Jake. I turned around to follow Anastabitch, but Jet held me back, staring at me like I'm the most precious thing in the whole world. Like the look Jake used to give me, but he was more intense. Suddenly I was breathless. 'Holy fuck! Jet is in love with me!'

I felt faint all of a sudden. I thought I was going to pass out, but then I saw Jet bend his head and he pressed a kiss on the back of my hand. The single action almost made me melt, and I snatched my hand away from his. No! He couldn't be in love with me, my craziness has probably caught up with me again. Gathering my wedding dress around me, I quickly march after Anastabitch.

Yes, that would be her name now, and she happened to be top three on my hating list. First was Jet, then Kale.
