After enduring endless overtime, an exhausted employee discovers a bizarre connection between her boss and her new computer peripherals. As she types and moves her mouse, her billionaire employer reacts with physical intensity, begging her to stop as his composure shatters. Refusing to back down, she continues her work late into the night. By midnight, she notices a mysterious puddle at his feet, assuming a spilled glass of water caused the mess.

Just My Type Chapter 1

My boss, who made me work overtime every single day, finally got what was coming to him.

Somehow, he got connected to my new keyboard. It was like he was synced to it.

His face flushed red, his eyes brimming with tears.

"Don't type anymore," he begged.

I just smiled and nudged the mouse.

"Don't move the mouse either!"

'Do you expect me to just stop because you said so? Wouldn't that make me look pathetic?' I thought to myself.

I kept working until midnight. Just as I was about to leave, I glanced down.

The carpet at my boss's feet was soaked through.

I figured he must have knocked over his glass of water.

Our company had just brought in a new boss.

He kept us working late every single day.

As his secretary, I could not leave until he did, so I always stayed back later than the rest of the office.

I bought a brand new keyboard and mouse set to cheer myself up. They were both limited editions!

I gently ran my fingers over them before starting to type like crazy. I was going to pound all my frustration into those keys!

I wanted to beat the keys into submission!

Out of nowhere, a message popped up on my screen from my boss, Shane Lawson.

Shane: [Bring me a pack of tissues.]

I clenched my teeth.

'Can't he grab his own tissues?

'Is he actually incapacitated, or is he just too lazy to move?' I wondered.

Biting back my annoyance, I grabbed some tissues and headed into his office.

Shane was half-asleep at his desk, looking all hot and bothered.

Was he sick?

Was he feeling bad?

I set the tissues down on his desk.

"Mr. Lawson, you really should look after yourself."

I was about to walk away when I stepped on something sticky. As I lifted my foot, it stretched out like slime.

What in the world?

This was...

My eyes went wide as I turned to Shane.

He was not just a little sick—he was a real mess.

Honestly, how did I always end up in situations like this?

That was just like Shane. He would rather suffer in the office than take a break and go home. I had to admire that.

"Get out of my office! And bring me those documents later! If there's even a single mistake in the files, you're in big trouble!"

I had not even started sorting through those files yet.

What was with the hurry?

Shane was always rushing me.

I typed furiously.

He wanted to rush me?

I would see how he liked being rushed!

I slammed the keyboard, each finger throwing a little punch!

All of a sudden, there was a loud thud from Shane's office.

'Huh? Did he finally push himself too far?' I wondered.

I opened the door to check on him. It was still my responsibility as his secretary to make sure he was doing all right.

Shane was holding onto the desk, looking really upset.

I was shocked.

Was he always this dramatic?

He was a skinny and quiet guy, and he was usually pretty nice.

He glanced up at me.

His eyes were unfocused.

After a bit, he seemed to snap out of his trance and said with a fierce expression, "If you tell anyone about what happened today, you're in big trouble!"

I knew better than to talk.

I did not want any trouble.

Shane said quickly, "Go get me a new suit."

The suit he was wearing now was all wrinkled. I shook my head.

He had made such a mess of his office. My boss sure was something else.

He never knew when to stop.

Shane did not stay late at work that day. He left early for once.

I was cleaning up my desk, wondering what to have for dinner, when Shane tapped me on the shoulder.

"Finish up this report, then drive me to a party," he said.

'Why does everyone else get to go home while I'm stuck here working late? It's not fair!' I thought, feeling upset.

I could not hide my frustration, but Shane did not seem to notice.

Was he not worried I would tell everyone his secret?

He was acting all high and mighty, but I had blackmail on him.

I continued typing hard on my new keyboard, feeling fed up.

I was so tired of working late all the time!

He deserved to suffer in the office too, for all the suffering he had put me through!

Suddenly, I heard another weird noise.
