Chapter 1

At the business dinner, my husband Shen Yifeng's partner asked him in German, "Your mistress is two months pregnant. What are you planning to do about it?"

Shen Yifeng smiled slightly as he carefully poured wine and served food for me.

He replied in German, "Yoyo doesn't like children. I'll have Chen Yuxuan give birth and take the child abroad to raise, just to ensure there's an heir."

As I sipped the red wine, tears silently slipped down my cheeks.

Shen Yifeng looked a bit flustered, "Yoyo, why are you crying?"

I forced a smile and explained, "The aftertaste of this wine is a bit strong; it's making my eyes uncomfortable."

But the wine was smooth and not very strong. The tears were because I understood German.

Perhaps Shen Yifeng had forgotten that I was once a top student in German studies.

He had also learned German to pursue me more conveniently.

When my thoughts returned, I found Shen Yifeng leaning toward me, his long fingers resting on the back of the chair.

Two buttons of his shirt were undone, and his fingers still bore traces of the wine that had spilled earlier.

"What are you thinking about?" he asked with a smile, his gaze fixed on the tips of my reddened ears, the sunlight reflecting off his cufflinks brushing over my eyelashes.

I instinctively reached for my wine glass, but he clasped my wrist.

His warm palm pressed against the pulse, and the silk cuffs carried a cedar scent.

"Let me handle this, " he said, suddenly taking a sip from the edge of the glass I had offered him. His Adam's apple moved, bringing a cool minty sensation—it was the special morning drink he prepared, now seeming like a subtle test.

Across from us, Lu Mingxuan crushed a salted almond between his fingers, the crumbs falling onto the Michelin-plated dish.

He adjusted his gold-rimmed glasses, "I must say, you two are like newlyweds even after all these years... "

Shen Yifeng suddenly pressed me against the carved wooden chair back, the scent of sandalwood and cedar enveloping us.

His fingers brushed my chin, the wedding ring pressing hotly against my skin.

"You know my wife has me under her thumb. Envious, aren't you? Tough luck!"

The end of his words faded into a kiss that brushed past my earlobe, restrained yet carrying a hint of probing aggression.

I turned my head to avoid his lips, my earlobe grazing against his cool, thin lips.

"Yes, I want to confirm if Mr. Shen, who loves me so much, " I deliberately elongated his surname, catching his jaw tighten from the corner of my eye, "has any other girls behind my back."

Shen Yifeng's pupils contracted slightly, a low, hoarse breath escaping his throat.

This man, accustomed to hiding his loss of control, even had his knuckles turning pale.

He suddenly lifted me up in his arms, spinning around with his suit trousers brushing the floor.

"In this lifetime, you'll be the only girl for me, " he whispered in my ear, his hot breath brushing against my neck.

"I belong only to you."

I pressed my lips together lightly, slowly pushing away from his embrace.

It turns out, some people can lie without a hint of shame.

When he proposed to me, I had only one request: fidelity.

I had once told him earnestly, "If I ever find out you betrayed our relationship, I will leave and never look back."

Back then, Shen Yifeng's eyes were full of love. After I said this, he hurriedly held my hand against his cheek, promising, "Yoyo, you're the person I spent two years winning over. I would never do anything to betray you! If I ever dare to let you down, let me love and never be loved in return!"

Indeed, because of my talents, I've always had admirers around me.

From the moment Shen Yifeng first saw me, he was determined to win my heart.

I had been hurt deeply in previous relationships, so I always feared love.

But in the end, I was moved by Shen Yifeng's persistence and gave this relationship a chance.

However, five months ago, I accidentally discovered he had another woman outside.

The idea that there could be pure love in the world shattered instantly.

I thought I would have a hysterical outburst with him, but instead, I was surprisingly calm.

Calmly staying by his side, quietly enduring the pain of heartbreak, calmly preparing for my future plans.

Finally, in just ten days, my visa will be ready.

I will be able to leave Shen Yifeng and start a brand new journey of my own.

Chapter 2

After dinner, Shen Yifeng leaned against my shoulder, slightly tipsy.

"Darling, let's go home, " he murmured.

Lin Yuxuan trailed behind us, calling out loudly, "Yifeng, aren't you coming to the karaoke with us?

Everyone's already there, just waiting on us."

Shen Yifeng didn't even turn his head, remaining firmly by my side.

He declined, "No, Yuanyuan needs to rest. I have to accompany her home."

Lin Yuxuan clicked his tongue in envy but didn't press further.

At that moment, I received a text message.

"Su Yuanyuan, let's make a bet. Will Yifeng spend the night with you or come out with me?"

My gaze fixed on the phone screen, and Shen Yifeng, noticing I had stopped, turned to look at me.

"Honey, why aren't we moving?"

I quickly turned off the screen, feigning nonchalance.

"It's nothing, just some provocation from a mistress."

Shen Yifeng's brow furrowed slightly, and he reached out for my phone.

Just then, his phone rang with a distinctive ringtone for Chen Yuxuan.

I handed my phone to him. "Do you still want to see?"

Shen Yifeng gazed at me, his eyes a bit flustered.

"Honey, don't tease me. There's no third party. Having you is enough for me."

He nuzzled against my neck like a child.

I gently pushed his head away and calmly said, "Answer your phone.

It's been ringing for a while."

Only then did Shen Yifeng straighten up, gesturing to me that he'd step aside to take the call.

Before he could say anything, I discreetly walked towards the driver waiting at the gate.

A flicker of surprise flashed in Shen Yifeng's eyes, but he quickly returned to his usual demeanor upon hearing the sweet voice on the other end of the line.

Turning away, I suppressed the bitterness welling up inside me.

I knew he wouldn't be going home with me tonight.

Sure enough, after the call ended, I received another message from Chen Yuxuan.

"Su Yuanyuan, you lost. Yifeng cares about me the most."

She then sent a picture of a prenatal checkup report.

"And of course, our child. Yifeng promised to give the child a home. He's so looking forward to this baby. Do you think he'll divorce you?"

I fought back tears, composing myself before Shen Yifeng could notice.

"Honey, something urgent came up at work tonight. I can't go home with you. Go ahead without me, and I'll make it up to you later, okay?"

He covered my hand with his, his eyes filled with affection.

I looked at him quietly.

"Shen Yifeng, I'm feeling dizzy tonight. Could you stay home with me instead of going to work?"

After all, he was someone I had loved deeply. Even with everything laid bare before me, it was hard to believe.

I thought, if he could just stay with me for one night, if he could just be with me tonight, I would give him a chance to explain.

Shen Yifeng gave a wry smile and gently patted my head.

"It's okay, Yuanyuan. I'll call the family doctor. I'll come back to you once I'm done, okay?"

With that, he cupped my face, intending to kiss me.

I pushed him away.

"I'm dizzy. Go ahead and take care of your work."

After Shen Yifeng got out of the car, I closed the door and instructed the driver to drive.

Not long after, a message from Chen Yuxuan appeared on my phone.

"How does it feel, Su Yuanyuan, being abandoned by your own husband? If I were you, I'd leave quietly."

I suddenly felt nauseous. I asked the driver to pull over, leaned against the railing, and vomited until I was completely drained.

Chapter 3

Until three in the morning, there was no sign of Shen Yifeng returning home.

I kept glancing at the door, and Lin Wan'er hadn't posted any new show-off posts on Instagram.

The only reasonable assumption was that they were caught up in a romantic evening.

With a bitter smile, I stood up and retrieved the portraits I had once painted of Shen Yifeng.

Looking at these artworks, which held so much of my heart and soul, I felt overwhelmed with sadness.

I remembered that after we got together, whenever I had free time, I would pick up my brush to capture his every expression—his joyful, animated brow and his thoughtful, slightly furrowed forehead.

I meticulously recorded his every move with my art.

I once believed that by doing this, I was the happiest person in the world.

But now...

The next day, I scheduled a delivery to send those portraits to Lin Wan'er in five days.

Since his heart had changed, these symbols of my affection should now be with the person he truly loves.

Just as I was about to burn the remaining paintings, he returned.

He called for me at the entrance, and I responded without pausing my actions.

Shen Yifeng walked into the room, almost dropping the cake he was holding when he saw what I was doing.

"Darling... " he rushed over, crouched down, and grasped my hand.

"What are you doing... ?"

I turned to look at him.

Shen Yifeng's face was pale, his eyes wide with shock.

I pulled my hand away gently and forced a smile.

"I suddenly wanted to try roasting marshmallows using these paintings as fuel. They say it gives them a unique aroma."

His hand froze in mid-air, disbelief filling his gaze.

He stammered, "Darling, don't joke around. These paintings are so precious."

I looked up at him, offering a faint smile.

"Precious? To me, they're just a pile of useless things now."

He anxiously insisted, "How can they be useless? Every stroke was drawn by you, capturing all our shared moments."

I continued lighting the paintings, watching the flames gradually consume them, speaking calmly, "There will be more unforgettable memories in the future."

Upon hearing this, Shen Yifeng finally relaxed and helped me onto the sofa.

"You're right, we'll have more unforgettable memories ahead."

He glanced at the remaining paintings on the floor.

"Let's have the maid clean these up. I brought you a cake, have some."

I looked at the exquisite cake in his hand, the sweet scent of cream lingering around my nose, but inside, I felt a knot of revulsion.

Imagining him with Lin Wan'er, the cake seemed like painful irony.

Shen Yifeng placed the cake on the table, trying to please me, "Honey, it's from your favorite bakery. I went out of my way to get it."

I forced a smile, "Thank you."

My voice was chilled like a winter's breath.

He fidgeted, rubbing his hands together, "Aren't you going to try it? It's your favorite."

Gazing at the cake, I took a deep breath and tried to suppress my disgust.

I had no energy to argue and replied blandly, "I'll have it later."

He seemed unsure, "What's wrong? Honey, is it that you don't like it anymore? I know yesterday was my fault, I…"

"No, I'm just tired, " I interrupted, heading to the bedroom.

Lying in bed, images of him and Lin Wan'er together kept flashing in my mind.

But I was too exhausted—too tired to argue or question.

Maybe when I have the strength, I'll confront him, but not now.

After a while, Shen Yifeng entered quietly, placing a cup of warm water by the bed and whispering, "Honey, have some water."

I faced away from him, remaining silent.

Listening to the soft sound of the door closing, tears flowed uncontrollably.

I lay there quietly, hearing Shen Yifeng moving around the living room, each step echoing in my heart.

As the night deepened, the moonlight seeped through the curtain gaps, casting mottled shadows on the floor.

I tossed and turned, unable to sleep.

Sensing my restlessness, Shen Yifeng gently opened the bedroom door, tiptoed to the bed, and carefully lay down beside me.

He reached out, trying to hold me, but I instinctively moved away.

His hand hung in the air for a moment before he slowly withdrew it. The room was silent, save for our breathing, the atmosphere suffocatingly tense.

"Darling, please don't be angry, " Shen Yifeng finally broke the silence, his voice cautious.

I didn't respond, keeping my eyes shut and pretending to be asleep.

He thought I hadn't heard and continued, "I know I might have ignored you recently, but it's because I've been so busy with work.

Please believe me, you're the only one in my heart."

His words made me feel sick.

Despite having cheated, he was still here spouting lies.

Seeing my lack of reaction, Shen Yifeng sighed softly.

He got out of bed, walked to the window, and stood there, gazing at the night outside.

The moonlight enveloped him, casting a silver glow over his silhouette.

I secretly opened my eyes, looking at his back.

Once so familiar and comforting, now it felt utterly alien.

After a long time, Shen Yifeng returned to bed.

This time, he didn't try to hold me, just lay quietly beside me.

I could feel his gaze resting on me.

But I never turned to meet his eyes.

The next morning, sunlight filtered through the curtains, lighting up my face.

I slowly opened my eyes to find Shen Yifeng gone.

I went to the living room and found a note and breakfast on the dining table.

The note read, "Honey, I've gone to work. Remember to eat breakfast."

Staring at the note, I felt a mix of emotions.

I sat at the table, eating breakfast, each bite tasteless.

After finishing, I decided to find Lin Wan'er.

It was time for me to leave.
