Freya

"These are roses! I specifically asked for tulips!" Mia snapped as she stared at the flowers and I exhaled deeply.

"Roses were."

"How dare you talk back to me!" She snapped and Jasper stepped forward, staring at me with anger.

"I ask you to organize one small party and you mess up something as important as this? Get tulips right away and dumb those roses!" He ordered and my eyes widened in shock.

"Alpha. I can't."

"Anything Mia wants, she must have it! Get tulips now and you better get this place ready before the guests start arriving!" He ordered and turned around while jis flashed me a proud smirk.

I was drained, planning such a huge party in two days was nothing but hell and goddess knew my patience was wearing out.

Hurrying out, I dashed away to the flower shop. Arriving there, I was stunned to hear that tulips weren't in season.

I grabbed my phone and placed a call to the Alpha immediately. "Alpha."

"What do you want, you bitch?" Mia demanded and I bit back the words that were on my lips.

"Please give the phone to the Alpha, I need to tell him about the flowers."

"Babe! You have a call from Freya, should I bring your phone over?" She yelled.

"No, whatever she has to say is just a lame excuse as to why she can't do her job diligently. What matters the most now is your happiness, Frey isn't important." He replied back and my heart tightened as the phone fell out of my hand.

My hands trembled in shock and without a word, I returned back to the pack house where I continued checking if everything was perfect.

Tears welled up in my eyes but I held them back. "You should never have loved him." My wolf whispered and I sniffed, trying to hold everything back.

"I was a fool. I thought maybe he would return the feelings." I whispered to my wolf.

The party was properly organized at the hotel hall and an hour later, guests began arriving while my shoulders were slumped due to lack of sleep and exhaustion.

I was like a moving zombie and I couldn't wait for Mia's arrival so I'd make my way home and do what I haven't been changed to do in two days, sleep.

"Wow. Isn't that Mia?"

"They look perfect together."

"I heard he asked for those diamonds to be made specially."

"She's looking so gorgeous, the alpha is a man every lady would be dying to have."

"I'm so jealous of her! She got herself the perfect man." Several gasps rang out as she walked in, decked in a beautiful off-shoulder ball gown with a crown. She was wearing a Diamond necklace with matching earrings and everyone stared at her with delight.

She had a huge smile as she and Jasper made their way to the special seat reserved for her.

"Find a juice over for Mia, she's thirsty." Alpha a Jasper mindlinked, it was his first time ever doing such and I was left in a daze.

I went over with an orange juice, ready to leave immediately. "I left my purse upstairs, go pick it up."

She ordered and I nodded, sighing heavily.

I made my way upstairs, walking as fast as my weak legs could go. I pushed the room open and grabbed the purse, breathing heavily as I returned to the hall.

I was sweating profusely and with a bow, I placed the purse on the table.

"Where are you going? You arranged this event, you should be here." Alpha Jasper announced.

"I'm. I haven't rested in two days, Alpha." I murmured and Mia frowned.

"But what if I need something?" Mia whispered as she pressed her body to him.

"Stay for a few hours, you can take a full day off after this party. Today has to be perfect for Mia." He replied coldly as he pulled her hand, kissing it softly.

I nodded and walked away, unable to continue watching them. I felt like puking and my head ached. Seeing them only twisted my already wounded heart and I just wanted to be as far away as possible.

Alpha Jasper grabbed a glass and hit it softly with a spoon, trying to get the attention of everyone.

"I have an announcement to make!" He muttered and the once noisy room turned silent.

"First. I'd like to thank Mia for coming into my life, she has brought nothing but happiness to me. Ever since Mia left I've been devastated and although I tried finding a replacement but I've come to accept that Mia is the only one I can love, this is why the goddess made us mates." I couldn't believe Alpha Jasper, a man who rarely spoke words in business, was saying this in front of hundreds of pack members.

"And with this, I'd like to announce Mia as my Luna. Mia, you complete my soul. I, Alpha Jasper of the Ravenclaw pack accept you, Mia as my mate." He announced and gasps rang out, my eyes almost popped out with shock.

He was accepting her. I couldn't believe this and my eyes watered instantly as my heart pounded heavily.

"I accept you too, Alpha." She replied and he carried her in his arms, kissing her as they twirled around. People began congratulating them but my knees bucked.

I couldn't believe it, I was in a daze and without a word, I began heading outside, shaking my head as I mumbled "no" to myself.

I couldn't stay anymore, it's high time I quit my job and stop hoping for the impossible. I wouldn't be able to take the pain. I planned her engagement. Maybe it's for the best if I leave the pack and never return, maybe the ground could lighten my pain and swallow me up.

"Stop you thief!" Two guards growled as they blocked my path and I scoffed, trying to break free.

"She's the only one who touched my purse, search her!" Mia squealed and it was then I realized she had accused me and people were staring at me with disgust because I had been running.

"Search her thoroughly and if you find it, punish her!" Alpha Jasper ordered coldly, his eyes cold as usual but slightly worse than before.

Freya

"What? I'm innocent! I wouldn't steal anything from you." I pleaded as the guards ambushed me. I stared at Alpha Jasper, waiting for him to stop the guards but disappointment slowly sank into my heart as he averted his gaze.

"Make sure Mia's ring is found." He ordered and I gulped down the lump in my bitter throat which was threatening to slit it open.

I couldn't believe my eyes as the guards came over and began touching me inappropriately. Tears filled my eyes as I watched him, my body trembling with disbelief.

"Found it!" Mia screamed after five minutes and the guards released me, tears kept gushing out of my eyes as embarrassment turned my skin red.

"Oh. You should understand how these things work. Freya, Mia was so worried but now that the ring has been found, we shouldn't have accused you. Take the day off, I'll have the accounting department compensate you richly for this." He muttered as Mia pressed herself into his arms, smiling at me with triumph and I scoffed.

Without a word, I turned around and dashed out of the hall, sobbing as floods of pain took over my heart. Once outside, I fell to the ground, sobbing loudly as I stared at the sky.

"Where did I ever go wrong? What did I ever do to deserve such? Why me?" I wept bitterly, unable to understand why I was so unlucky.

"Everything will be fine, Freya." Bree whispered and I scoffed.

"I can't take it anymore Bree. The humiliation is too much. I can't." I murmured as more tears rolled down my cheeks.

I rose from the ground and slowly walked towards the house, letting the midnight breeze calm my storming heart.

Once inside the house, I grabbed a piece of paper and sat in front of my table. I stared at the blank paper, wondering if it was right to write a letter to the Alpha.

"For eight years." I started the letter and my tears began to wet the paper, making it impossible to write or see.

"Gather yourself together, draft a small resignation letter and leave." I whispered to myself as I inhaled and exhaled.

Morning

I stared at the pack suitcases, I had spent the entire night gathering my belongings and today I was determined to leave the pack.

My head was aching terribly and I forced myself to have my bath while gritting every memory of yesterday out of my head.

I got dressed and grabbed my bag, I wore dark shades to hide my dark spot and after checking myself in the mirror, I headed out.

"Everything is going to be fine." I whispered to myself repeatedly, hoping if I said it countless times then it'd happen.

"Oh, Freya. Good morning." I greeted the receptionist who stared at me sadly.

"Are you okay? I saw the video of you being searched at the party." She whispered and I gasped, I managed to smile and nod after a brief silence.

"Thank you." I muttered and she smiled.

"Is the alpha in yet?"

"Yes, he came in a few minutes ago with the love of his life." She answered and I nodded.

After bracing myself up, I went over to his office and knocked on the door slowly.

"Come in." He grunted and Mia's eyes lit up with disgust as I walked in.

"Good morning, Alpha. I'd like to submit my resignation letter." I muttered and he frowned heavily.

Mia was sitting on his leg and she rose up, a haughty smile on her face as she stared at me.

"Why? Was it because of what happened at the party? Are you quitting because of me?" Mia demanded, trying to sound concerned and I rolled my eyes.

"It's not because of you, Mia. I'll take care of this." Alpha Jasper assured.

"Is it because you want a raise? I'll arrange for the finance department to give you a raise and a yearly all paid vacation, is that enough?" He demanded and I shook my head.

"I'm sorry but I'm leaving, I can't stay anymore." I replied and he frowned.

"You're my employee and according to the laws, you can't leave immediately without any approval." He muttered and I smiled coldly.

"The law also states I can leave if it's an emergency, I'm sorry, Alpha Jasper but I'm leaving." I replied and placed the letter on the table.

"Freya."

"I'll go talk to her, you can leave it to me." Mia muttered before dashing after me.

"What do you want?" I demanded and she smirked coldly.

"Oh nothing, I've gotten what I wanted already. Too bad you didn't wait for him to mark me before leaving but I'm sure you'll get an invitation to our wedding."

She replied and I smiled.

"Is that all? Thank you but I'm not interested in attending, I wish you both a happy life." I replied and turned to leave but she grabbed my hand.

"Not so fast, why are you in a hurry? Does it hurt that much?" She taunted and I pulled my hand away.

"Let go! You want him and you have him already, why the fuck can't you be okay with that!" I demanded angrily and she smiled.

"I want you to weep and crawl on the floor, pleading for mercy. I want to shove my wedding in your face and show you what you worked hard for years to get but couldn't because he belongs to me." She replied with a smirk and I inhaled, trying to contain my anger.

"You're weak." before she could complete her sentence, I landed a slap on her cheeks and her eyes widened with shock. She was stunned for a moment and goddess knew I had never felt so light and happy in days.

"How." I landed a second slap on her cheek, smirking.

"This is just a tip for all you've done." I retorted and tears began streaming down her cheeks.

"What's going on? Mia. what did you do?" Jasper demanded as he walked out of the office and her face turned red as more water spilled.

"Jasper, she hit me twice. I was trying to."

"Save it, I'm leaving." I replied as I turned my heels and walked out, leaving behind every ounce of feeling I once felt for the Alpha.

Freya

Tears streamed down my cheeks as the bus drove further and further away from the pack.

I was trying to wipe the tears but it felt like there was a downpour.

My phone rang and I grabbed it, a small part of me hoping it was Alpha Jasper but I smiled when Elena's name popped up.

She was Jasper's twin sister and my close friend in school.

"Girl, what's wrong? I came over and I was told you've relocated. You didn't tell me anything about moving away, which street did you move to, I'll come over." She squealed and I smiled softly, inhaling deeply as I tried to steady my voice.

"I. I'm leaving the pack." I replied, hoping my voice didn't give me away and she frowned.

"Why? It's too sudden, where are you heading to? Did you get another job offer? Which pack are you heading to?" She demanded, her voice filled with concern.

"The night walker pack, I'll find something to do." I replied and she inhaled.

"Why are you leaving, Freya? Tell me what is wrong."

"Nothing. There's nothing left for me in the Ryder pack so I need to leave." I answered and she scoffed.

"So this is because of that asshole after all? Freya you're leaving your life behind to a strange and dangerous pack because of a bastard who doesn't deserve it. Please come back." She pleaded but I shook my head.

"I'm sorry but I can't. I need to leave, I need to focus on myself, I can't take it anymore." I answered, knowing well that my words were breaking her heart.

"But."

"This is my decision, Elena. Please support me." I cut and after a minute of silence, she spoke.

"Fine, I'm just devastated that I never got to say goodbye. Call me when you get home and if you need any help, anything at all, please don't hesitate to call me, Please call me." She insisted and I smiled softly.

"I will, I promise."

"I'm going to miss you so much, please be careful." She whispered, her voice breaking.

"I will," I replied and ended the call before I began sobbing quietly.

Only the goddess knew what was in store for me. It was a rash decision but goddess knew there was no backing down now.

"I'm so sorry, Bree." I whispered as I continued going through the companies that had vacancies. None of them offered what I received previously but I was ready to start from somewhere.

Jasper

"Baby, we should go on a vacation, at least some private time alone between us." Mia suggested and I exhaled deeply.

"Not now, I'm swamped with work and Freya leaving without notice has made things even more complicated.

"Oh please, I'm sure you'll settle everything. You don't have to worry too much because you'll get a good replacement soon and her existence will be forgotten." She replied and I exhaled.

I unbuttoned a few buttons as I continued scrolling through the disorganized files, unable to tell the last one I had worked on and the one meant for tomorrow and the days ahead.

"Are you satisfied?" Elena demanded as she burst into my office and I frowned.

"Oh please. Not now, I've got a lot of work to settle and Freya quit this morning so if you want to talk about something, come back later." I murmured and she scoffed.

"Oh really? Why don't you have Mia take over and help you out since you could be stipid enough to drive Freya away! I don't know what's wrong with you but sometimes, actually most times I wish you were never my brother." She snapped and I frowned heavily.

"What is going on? Can't you talk about this later!"

"Later? Later when Freya has left the pack and she's on her way to a strange land? Later? You wanna discuss this later but you have time for this whore who left you for another man? I've never seen anyone as daring as Mia, mates are meant to stick together yet she left you! Freya stood by you all these years, making sure you're fine and the best way to pay her is by getting back with this whore and letting her treat Freya like a dog." She yelled, breathing heavily as she said those words and all I could make out was Freya left.

"Freya did what? What are you talking about?" I asked, rising from the chair and she scoffed.

"Oh please, stop pretending. Are you happy now? Isn't this what you want?" She turned to Mia who coiled back, fear visible in her eyes.

"I wish you guys nothing but the best!" She snapped and dashed out while I slumped on the chair, the words still echoing in my ears.
