The cabin had a single bedroom with a metal frame bed but no mattress. There was an old painting of what the cabin originally looked like when it was first built. The room also had an ancient chest of drawers which had a hole on the side and was missing the drawers handles.
The bathroom was a metal bath with a toilet. A cracked mirror hung against the wall, and I remembered JB broke my accident when he shot me with his slingshot. The cabin used to have running water, but now the pipes were dry.
The lounge/dining area and kitchen were all one room. There was a small wooden table with a broken chair. Then another painting of a car that I hung up. JB also painted a tree on the wall, which was pretty well done. The kitchen had a few cabinets with an odd plate or cup in them. There wasn't much, but the cabin was like a dream home for two young boys.
While we were in the lounge area, I removed a loose floorboard. This was our secret stash spot in case someone broke into the cabin. There were blankets, candles and stuff to start a fire in the fireplace. I just had to collect some wood from outside. Luckily, I stuck a machete under the floorboard as well.
"I can see why this is your favourite place," Kiara stated. "You can go collect some wood while I make the place a bit more comfortable."
"Okay. I'll be back soon." I nodded and was about to walk off when I looked back at her.
"What?" She asked and tucked her hair behind her ear. She was so gorgeous. It was like my mind refused to accept that I was here with her. I, Jason, a nobody that disobeys the law like I deserve a free pass for growing up poor.
Kiara... she was intelligent, exotic and hard working. She was... perfect. How was I this lucky to be alone with her right now?
"You take my breath away," I said and walked over to her. With one hand wrapped around her waist, I pulled her closer to me. Our lips found their way to each other, and I gave her a passionate kiss.
She felt so warm pressed against my body. I wanted to stay inside and cuddle, but the cold breeze that blew in from the open door reminded me to get wood. Kiara giggled as I pulled away and lightly tapped her ass. With a wink, I quickly walked off and collected some wood.
Kiara had laid out some blankets on the floor and lit candles as the sky started to grow dark. She smiled at me as I walked back inside and showed off her efforts. Her eyes lit up, and I smiled at her. It was like she was happy that I accepted the way she made the place comfortable.
"Brrr, it's chilly." I laughed and started the fire. I placed the door back in its frame to block out the cold air, and soon the old cabin warmed up.
Kiara placed a blanket over both of us as I sat down next to her. For weeks, all I wanted to do was speak to her. But now... it seemed like my mind hit a blank.
"I'm sorry about your Dad. When did he pass?" Kiara asked innocently and placed her hand on my leg to comfort me in case it was a sensitive topic.
"It's okay. He passed in my last year of high school. He was diagnosed with cancer about 2 years earlier, so it didn't come as a shock. JB and I tried to prepare ourselves, but it still hurt when he did pass." I shrugged. I wanted to be open and honest with Kiara from the start. So, I pushed past the pain from that memory and felt safe enough to share it with her.
"He was your Dad. It's normal to have hurt. What about your mommy?" Kiara said.
I smiled at the way she said, mommy.
"You're so cute when you say that. Mommy." I laughed. "I never knew my mom; she passed away before I was born," I added to answer her question. "What about your parents?"
"My mom and Dad divorced when I started primary school. So, I was constantly travelling between homes. My mom eventually remarried and moved overseas. She left my Dad alone to take care of me. He didn't find another woman and grew into a bitter old man. I swear I'm the only one who can make him smile." Kiara responded.
"Are you and your mom still in contact?"
"Nope. I haven't spoken to her for years. She doesn't even try to reach out to me, so I'm not even bothered."
"I'm sorry. What about siblings? Do you have any?"
"I'm an only child. Is it just you and your brother or...?"
"Yeah, just JB and I." I nodded. "When we first, er, met... you said something about an ex. Did the 'no dating' rule happen because of him?"
I instantly rejected asking the question as Kiara frowned. It was perhaps a bit too personal. She crossed her arms across her chest and glared at me.
"Why do all men assume that the way I live my life is because of them?" She snapped. "Can't I just be happy on my own? Why do I need a reason to stay single?"
"I'm sorry, Kiara. I didn't mean to offend you."
"Yeah, well, you did. Being with someone else is just so much unnecessary stress. At any second, that person could do something to hurt me. I don't want to live my life like that. I'm happy by myself, okay. Now let's just drop the subject." She muttered, and we fell into an awkward silence. The fire cracked as it burned in the fireplace.
I could hear the soft running water of the river in the distance and an owl that flew past the trees outside of the cabin. My brain was debating on what I should say or how to make Kiara feel better. After a few minutes, I opened my mouth.
"I wish I could be happy alone," I stated, and Kiara looked at me. "You're happy with yourself and who you are. That's amazing. Usually, everyone is their own worst enemy, and you somehow found a way to accept that. I find it admirable."
"Why don't you like who you are?" Kiara questioned and moved her arms from her chest. She seemed to be in a better mood, at least.
"Well, for one... I'm a criminal. I steal for a living and run from the cops. You can't get lower than that. Plus, look at me. I'm awkwardly tall, have no real purpose in life and am pinning over someone that is way out of my league." I shrugged. I wasn't trying to sound depressing but just being honest.
"Don't talk like that, Jason. I'm sure you have great qualities as well. You're a good driver. You're kind and really good at sex." Kiara remarked, which made me laugh.
"Thanks, I guess." I smiled, and she touched the side of my face.
"I hope you learn how to be happy by yourself." She stated and stared into my eyes. For a moment, I found myself lost in her deep brown eyes as she just stared at each other silently. It only lasted a few seconds, but to me, it felt mesmerizing.
I leaned in closer to Kiara and rested my forehead against hers.
"Maybe you can show me how to be happy," I whispered before I pressed my lips against hers. Kiara's fingers curled around my neck. Her fingertips were cold, but her mouth was hot against mine. She moved and sat on top of me with her pussy pressed against my dick as we kissed.
That amazing scent of coconut drifted from her skin, and I moved my lips down to kiss her neck. My hand caressed over her back and grabbed her ass cheeks. Her hips started moving, which made her grind against me. Her mouth tasted sweet and like soft peppermint. Being with her reminded me of the first night we spent together.
"I'm really wet," Kiara mumbled in my ear. "I can feel how hard you are. I want your throbbed dick to be inside of me."
"Fuck, Kiara. You are so fucking sexy." I groaned and tugged her shirt off and over her head. She had on a sexy red lace bra that cupped her breasts firmly.
"Get undressed but keep the bra on," I ordered in her ear, and she quickly climbed off of me. I also got undressed while she obeyed. I pulled her back towards me and claimed her mouth with mine. We made our way back down onto the blanket.
"I want to get on top," Kiara stated and shoved me to lay down. Her wet pussy rubbed against my hard dick as she quickly dug in her bag and pulled out a condom.
"Do you just carry those around?" I laughed as she squeezed my dick with her hands.
"Obviously. Better safe than sorry." Kiara smirked and tore open the condom wrapper. She then proceeded to put it on and knew exactly what she was doing. I got to lay back and relax.
"Your so fucking bad, baby." Kiara groaned and leaned down to kiss me. She bit onto my bottom lip and pulled it into her mouth, which made me want more. I smacked her ass as she kissed me and twirled her tongue around my tongue. She even sucked on my tongue, which was slightly painful but sexy as fuck.
"Have you been bad, Jason?" Kiara asked as she pulled away and positioned her hips. I caught on that she was into some sort of role-playing, which I found hot.
"Real bad. Are you going to punish me, Kiara?" I huskily replied and squeezed her breasts.
"Yes." She stated as her hips thrust forward, and I slid inside of her. We both moaned as she did so and then started moving, so I went completely out and then back in. Her pussy was tight around my dick as I slid in and out of her.
Kiara moved my hand to her neck while her hips moved magically on top of me. She stared at me as I moaned while she fucked me and smiled. It felt so good to be inside of her. I thrust my hips up and tried to fuck her faster.
"Yes, baby. Keep doing that. It feels so good." Kiara mumbled and moved her hand down her body. Her finger rubbed her clit while I fucked her pussy. Her sexy moans and deep breaths filled her air.
"Come for me, love," I begged Kiara as her mouth flew open. Her body trembled as her vagina walls clenched. As she orgasmed, warm moisture flowed down my shaft and made me grip onto her ass. I cumed as Kiara rammed her hips hard against me.
"Fuck, love." I groaned, and she burst into giggles as she moved her hips, so my dick slid out. Kiara sat on my legs as I sat up and took off the condom, which was full of white cum. She tied a knot in it and then handed it back to me.
"Thanks." I smiled and kissed her before tossing the condom aside and pulling her naked body closer to me so that we could cuddle. I also covered us with a blanket and made sure she was tucked warmly in my arms.
"You are so beautiful," I mumbled and placed a kiss on her forehead.
"Thank you, handsome. Did you enjoy yourself?" Kiara asked and nuzzled her face closer to my neck.
"Yes, fuck yes." I nodded and squeezed her ass.
"I like you." Kiara softly said that I almost didn't hear her.
"I like you too," I replied, and her cheeks shot red. She placed a kiss on my chest and wrapped her arms around me.
"Can I be honest?" She suddenly asked and lifted her chin to look up at me.
"Of course."
"When you are near me, I feel... safe. I don't know why."
"That's good, love. I swear I have no bad intentions when it comes to you."
"Maybe I do trust you a tiny bit." Kiara smiled and shrugged her shoulders. Her warm body was so close to mine, and she looked gorgeous with her messy silver hair sprawled out on my arm.
"Are you busy tomorrow?" Kiara suddenly asked, and I shook my head. "Good. My Dad's having a Sunday luncheon, and I know he wants me to invite a plus one. Would you like to join me?"
"You want me to meet your Dad?" I asked, shocked and stared at her.
"I guess so, but only as a friend." She firmly stated.
"I would love to be your plus one." I smiled and placed a quick kiss against her lips.
Kiara and I spent the night getting to know each other more by talking. I learnt things such as her favourite colour (which is red) and if she studied at university (the answer was yes). Kiara went to the University of Pretoria, aka Tukkies. She studied business management and told me stories of how she went to tons of parties.
Kiara messed around on a pole at a club one night, then decided to join pole dancing classes. After that, she perfected the art and now can move in ways I've never seen before. She told me how her Dad always called her his angel, which is why she acts as the perfect daughter for his sake. I asked her if she ever wished her Dad could know the real her, but Kiara said she prefers to keep her life separate. She feels freer that way.
I just sat there and listened when Kiara spoke. I could listen to her for days upon end. Her voice was beautiful, and she sounded so happy when she spoke about her Dad. They were really close, and she loved him with all her heart. Kiara just wanted her Dad to be happy as well.
"So, about the luncheon... what do I even wear?" I asked as we cuddled. We had both gotten dressed due to the cold, and it was about 3 am the next morning. Time had flown by so quickly.
"Something formal like a casual suit." Kiara shrugged.
"I don't own a suit." I laughed, which made her mouth fly open.
"Isn't that like a necessary item to own?"
"No." I shook my head.
"Okay. Well, maybe like khaki pants and a white button-up shirt."
"I don't even own that. Don't worry, I'll make a plan." I smiled and kissed her cheek. "Shouldn't I get you home? We have to be up and ready for the luncheon in 6 hours."
"Yeah, you're right. I need my beauty sleep to cope with the day tomorrow." Kiara laughed and sat up. "Since we drove my car, shouldn't I technically be taking you back to the club? So you can get your vehicle and head home."
"You're right." I smiled and stood up with a yawn.
The drive back to the club was relaxing. I closed the roof, turned on the heater and listened to soft music with Kiara next to me. I drove us back, and she placed her hand on my leg for the entire drive. It made me happy just being near her, even if we weren't talking. It felt like I could be next to her, never say a word and walk away feeling like it was the best conversation. She made me feel like my heart was glowing and spread warmth throughout my body.
Kiara jumped into the driver's seat as I climbed out.
"I guess I'll see you in a few hours." I smiled and leaned into the window to say goodbye to Kiara.
"Don't miss me too much." She winked and moved closer to place a kiss on my lips. She waved goodbye as she drove off, and I could almost instantly feel the distance between us. I walked back over to my vehicle, which thankfully hadn't been broken into.
Now, where on earth was I going to get a suit in time? JB had his suit from when he got married, but it would look too big on me. I didn't really know anyone else to ask. I quickly stopped by the tailors and the working hours said they only opened at 9. The time the luncheon was supposed to start.
I checked the time, and it was a little after 4 am.
"Shit." I cursed and looked around at the empty streets. I grabbed a metal pipe from my vehicle and smashed the lock on the door. I quickly ducked in and grabbed a black suit which I hoped would be my size, and the first red tie I saw.
I quickly phoned Lulu and placed my phone on the loudspeaker as I drove home.
"Jason, the sun isn't even out yet! Why are you calling me so early?" Lulu hissed angrily and sounded like she had just woken up.
"I need your help. Firstly, do you know how to use a tie? Secondly, you need to teach me table manners." I replied.
"Uhm, yes. Wait, why are you asking?"
"Good. I'm outside your place," I stated as the vehicle stopped outside JB's house. I watched as the curtain in Lulu's room opened as she stared at me with her phone pressed against her ear.
"Give me five minutes. I'll be out soon." She replied, and the call ended. I chuckled as her curtain closed again, and exactly 6 minutes 35 seconds later, Lulu walked out the front door. She wore a soft blue pair of tights and a large white hoodie with white bunny slippers and fluffy pink socks.
"That was more than five minutes," I remarked as she climbed into the vehicle.
"Oh, shut up. I'm here, ain't I?" Lulu growled and rolled her eyes. "Now tell me what's going on."
I told her the story as I drove back to my place.
"So, you want to impress Kiara and fit in with the wealthy citizens?" Lulu laughed, and I nodded. "I ain't judging. You must really like her, huh?"
"I do. So, will you help me?"
"Yeah, I'll help, but you first need to make me some coffee. 3 sugars and black. I'm missing my sleep for this."
"Thanks, Lulu. You're the best." I beamed.
"I know." She smiled back at me.
As 8:30 rolled around the corner, I was ready to act like a proper gentleman. The suit was a perfect size. It was plain black, with a white silk shirt underneath and a red tie.
"How do I look?" I asked as I walked out of the room and showed Kiara the outfit.
"You look good, dude." Lulu laughed and perfected a few creases. "There. Oh, and take this." She stated and shoved a red rose towards me.
"Where did you get this?" I questioned and sniffed the rose, which had a lovely sweet smell.
"The garden down the road." Lulu shrugged and pushed me towards the door. "You better get going. It's always better to be early than late."
I nodded and took a deep inhale before walking out. My neighbours stared at me as I walked toward my vehicle. I looked very different from how they usually saw me. Plus, even my hair was neatly gelled down.
I parked my vehicle, which by the way, is a Citroën Nemo. It's white and kind of looks like a pretty delivery van. It has enough space at the back for the crew, is great on the roads and goes really high speeds. The van is very common, and its colour changes every time we get into a car chase with the police. I always give the van a bumper sticker to make her seem personalised.
Right now, she's white with an "I hate tomato sauce" sticker. Very strange, indeed. I honestly love tomato sauce, but when I saw the bumper sticker, it made me laugh, which is why I bought it. Yes, I actually did buy it and like, spent money on it.
I was parked just on the corner of a church, which is probably one of the fanciest churches I've ever seen. The walls were white and had these pillars in the front that were decorated with orange-tinted glass. There was a cross on more glass in the middle that stood out boldly. There were even steps leading up to the front door of the church. The front garden area was decorated and well taken care of like a wedding could take place outside.
I quickly scanned over my appearance in the reflection of the tinted glass of my van and then followed after the well-dressed people that knew the way. A priest greeted me as I walked in and shook my hand.
"Welcome, my son. May you be blessed." He smiled and then told me to walk down the passage into a grand hall. I just followed after the other guests and nodded at the gentlemen in respect as they stared my way. I was not part of their wealthy citizen's group, and they probably were trying to figure out who I was.
I did believe in the Christian God. Like I didn't pray, read the bible or go to church. But, I respected the man upstairs and carried him in my heart.
