Ariel thought Alaska was joking about their honeymoon starting that night, but true to his word, Alaska open the door to the room where Ariel was locked up, he was in his pajamas, his hair a little wet.
It was obvious he just took a bath.
Ariel panicked.
"Is he really going to observe the honeymoon like he said?" Her mind went wild.
Her dinner was already sent to her hours ago but she hasn't touched it and clothes to change into.
Alaska looks at the tray of food on the table and don't talk.
He walks towards the bed, Ariel instantly curled up in fear.
"I told you our honeymoon start tonight. What are you still doing, take your bath and join me in bed fast"
Ariel's heart jumped as Alaska climbed unto the bed. She quickly gets off the bed to escape him, picks the new clothes and run into the bathroom.
She sighed deeply after making sure she had locked the bathroom's door very well. Since she managed to escape into the bathroom, she already had a plan.
She will stay in the bathroom until she is she sure Alaska had fallen asleep.
Thinking about all that had unfolded in her life that day, she could not but cry silently.
She took her bath and waited for some time, making sure Alaska was already asleep before she quietly gets out of the bathroom and tiptoed into the room.
Wanting to make sure Alaska was really asleep, she climbs the bed and wave her hand in front of his face to be sure his asleep.
She sighed when she realized Alaska was really asleep. She initially wanted to sleep beside him on the bed but she thought it will be dangerous sleeping beside him on the bed.
She turned back to go to the sofa deciding to sleep on it. But Alaska suddenly pulled her into bed in his embrace, tightly holding her. Ariel looks shocked since she thought Alaska was asleep.
"What did you think?" His voice echoes in her ears.
"I told you to go take your bath and get ready for the honeymoon"
"I... I" Ariel stutters in fear.
Her heart pounding fast.
She was already cupped up in his large embrace and could feel his warmth, but she knew it was dangerous.
Alaska smirked angrily.
He turned her body under him and hooked her, placing his body on hers.
With fear, Ariel tries to shake him off her but Alaska closely stares into her eyes to see how powerful she could be to get away from him. Staring dangerously into her eyes, Ariel could not bear to look at his face and close her eyes in fear.
She felt dead, but her subconscious mind kept telling her to get away from him, how could she do that when she was already trapped under his body?
Alaska's dangerous stares stopped on her face, watching her without saying anything. Ariel's heart almost stopped beating with their body touching.
"Do you think you can run away from me?" He felt like Ariel had done the most unthinkable thing.
"I'm Alaska, remember!" He thinks Ariel's action was absurd.
"I...I... I," Ariel stuttered and struggled to get freed from him, but he was too powerful for her. She thought he has slept but he was pretending to be asleep.
How evil!
"Are you try to act smart?" Alaska wanted to know if she was just playing games with him or being serious.
"No!" She let out with shaky voice, her heart in her mouth.
"I wouldn't dare," she breathed nervously with so much fear.
"Good! Only if you are courting death," he forcefully smiled.
"You cannot run away from me, get that," Alaska then start to caress her body, looking deeply into her eyes.
"This is your punishment," he smashed his lips on hers and kisses her roughly, biting her lips.
Ariel tries to break free, struggling under his hold.
To her, it is an assault, repeatedly kissing her without her consent, but what can she do? She is now his wife.
Alaska continues to roughly kiss her until she gave up her struggles. When he realized she was no longer struggling, and seems to have surround to him, he let go of her lips.
Ariel gasps for breath, tears flow down her cheeks.
"You are mine already, you don't have to struggle with me" he softly kissed off the tears on her cheeks and place his hand on her night wear to take them off.
Ariel knew that there is nothing she could do now, she already stops struggling but she hated it.
She doesn't want it either.
Alaska looks up to her face when he realized that she was not reacting to his touch and stop his action.
"Are you weary of me?" His eyes flicker.
Ariel couldn't look to him; she could only shed tears.
"I'm not likable by others, so deal with it" he pulls off his shirt, his broad chest exposed to Ariel innocent eyes.
She immediately turned her face aside, she already given up. Since he wanted her body so much, then he should have it.
But then, a thought hit her mind.
"I'm not" she managed to reply.
"Is just that, I'm...pregnant" she lied.
The moment Alaska heard her, he frowns. His expression instantly changed.
"You what!" He immediately pushed her away from him.
Ariel is surprised to see him react like that. She just wanted to get away from him and lied, she doesn't know her lies will be effective.
"I'm..."
"You're disgusting!" Alaska let out furiously which scares Ariel. She quickly hides under the bed sheet seeing his furious face.
Alaska stares at her breathing heavily, he picks up his shirt and leave the room.
Ariel looks surprise that he left.
"Did he leave because I said I was pregnant?" She tries to understand, but that is the only reason he could have left.
Ariel felt so relieved.
She touched her chest in fear; her lips felt hurt from his bite. She fell on her back, like she just escaped death. She realized she would not be able to run away from him forever. It dawned on her that she was trapped for real, with no way out, she can only pretend to be pregnant now to keep him away from her.
Then she burst out in tears, wailing so loudly.
"Jack, where are you?" She cried, scared of what would become of her life from then on.
Ariel knew she was unfortunate to have encountered Alaska. Crying her heart out, she believed she needed answers; she needed to know what was going on.
"Why would Alaska of all people want her?" She thought, crying.
She was just a nobody; no one recognized her. How did Alaska get to know about her?
Ariel could not sleep the whole night; she thought of every means to contact Jack, but there is no way to see Jack now.
Jack told her he already gets their marriage registered, Ariel wondered how she then ended up becoming Alaska's wife instead.
She believed Alaska had either killed Jack or locked him up somewhere. She did not have any family she could contact to help her. She thought Alaska targeted her because she had no family.
She could not sleep a wink till daybreak; she kept thinking of the possible dangers she would encounter associating with someone as dangerous as Alaska.
She thought she would have a good life after getting married to Jack, the man she loved, but her life now had just hit rock bottom. She was brought up at the orphanage and did not know who her parents were.
She had suffered many things and finally met Jack, who showered her with love and wanted her in his life, even though she had nothing.
They were good together, and nothing seemed wrong; they decided to get married, but everything suddenly turned upside down.
Thinking about Ariel's confession of being pregnant yesterday, Alaska frowns. He did not expect her to already be pregnant.
He borrowed her for a billion dollars from Jack her husband after he run to him to help him pay his debt in his casino.
Alaska wanted to run for the position of the governor of Alaska in the next election. For the first time in his life, he wanted something badly. He could have used force like his nature but he believes he needed to be a good leader for the people to accept him.
The election board gave him a rare condition to be met and the condition was that he must get married, have a good family of his own before the campaign started.
Knowing no one will want to marry him, he proposes a deal to Jack who was preparing for his wedding with Ariel at that time to borrow him his marriage just for a year with the condition that he will cancel his debt, pay him a billion dollars and return Ariel to him after a year without touching her.
Jack agreed since it was a great deal, he got the money he needed and more.
But now she is pregnant.
"That bastard don't tell me she is pregnant" Alaska looks more furious.
"Don, you don't seem good. Did something happen?" Jeffrey, Alaska's right-hand man, asked.
"She is pregnant!" Alaska looks so pissed.
Jeffrey looks surprise to hear that Ariel is pregnant.
"So...".
Alaska remained silent and sighed; he picked up the brown envelope before him and brought out the document inside it. The document contained a contract between Alaska and Jack, the contract being about Alaska borrowing his marriage with Ariel for one year, and the price for the borrowed marriage was one hundred billion dollars with Jack's debt cancelled.
Alaska sighed again, looking at the marriage certificate with his name written on it and that of Ariel.
"Don, I don't understand. I don't think you need to comply with what those corrupt people wanted. We can actually force our way in, and you will definitely become the governor. No need for all of this," Jeffrey felt the idea of Alaska getting married to become the governor was stupid.
Alaska looked at him and forced a smile.
"I know, but I want to do it right. I'm going to follow all the rules to become a good governor," Alaska replied, determined.
"That is why I got married as they wanted," he added with excitement written on his face. Not excited about the marriage because Ariel is just someone, he needed to fulfill his ambition, but he was only excited about becoming the governor of Alaska.
He was already controlling Alaska and everyone feared him in the city, but it was not in name. he wanted the position as well.
"But what if they get to know that you are borrowing someone's marriage? Won't it be a problem?" Jeffrey thinks they might still encounter problems for borrowing a marriage.
"What problem?" Alaska looks confident.
"I mean, the girl..." Jeffrey seemed skeptical about the whole thing.
"Who will tell them about it? The girl or her so-called husband who gave his bride for a billion dollars?" Alaska knows that neither Jack nor Ariel will dare say or do anything.
"And I didn't force him," he adds, knowing he already fulfilled his end of the contract.
He only had to put his name where Jack's name was supposed to be. He believes Jack was supposed to be the groom but it was just a change of name. Though it was Jack who propose to Ariel and arranged the wedding ceremony, help him with the marriage registration, but it was his name that appeared on the marriage certificate.
To him, Jack was just a stand-in groom; he is the real groom, and after one year, Jack becomes the real groom again. And since he had paid him handsomely for that, he did nothing wrong.
"So, what will happen to the girl now that she is pregnant?" Jeffrey is curious, since no lady has gotten involved with them before.
"That bastard don't tell me, he is lending me a pregnant bride"
"She has her duty to fulfill as Alaska's wife from now on pregnant or not"
Jeffrey looks at Alaska and wonders what is going on in his head. He has never allowed any lady near him ever since he knew him, but suddenly he has a wife and a pregnant one at that.
Alaska looks at Jeffrey, who keeps staring at him.
"What?"
"You were talking about your honeymoon... How did it go?" Jeffrey believes something was not right after Alaska left Ariel's room yesterday.
"Did I look like someone who will do something like that with her? I was just scaring her" Alaska looks offended.
He indeed did not plan to have anything with her; he only wanted to scare her a little since she refuse to accept that they are married. He believes it is the only way to make subjected to him.
"The girl or the marriage has nothing to do with me. And moreover, I have to return the girl and the marriage back after one year," he adds.
But Jeffrey wonders if the whole idea of the borrowed bride will eventually have nothing to do with him.
Alaska's expression changed to a more serious one.
"Jeffrey, I need you to keep an eye on her. Make sure she doesn't try to escape or contact anyone."
Jeffrey nods.
"Yes, boss. I'll take care of it."
Alaska's phone rings, breaking the silence. He answers it, listening to the person on the other end. His expression becomes even more serious.
"What is it?" Jeffrey asks, noticing the change in Alaska's demeanor.
"It's the election board office," Alaska replies.
"They want me to submit the marriage certificate for proof and also bring my wife to a ball tonight."
Jeffrey raises an eyebrow.
"A ball? That's a big event. Are you sure you're ready for that?"
Alaska nods.
"I was born ready. And with her by my side, I'll make sure to make a lasting impression."
Jeffrey looks at Alaska with a mixture of curiosity and concern. He knows that Alaska is capable of doing whatever it takes to achieve his goals, but his also concerned about how Ariel will react about the ball tonight since she was forced into the marriage.
Jeffrey looks worried.
"I hope everything goes well tonight" he thinks and sigh.
That evening Ariel was thinking of how to escape and look for Jack but Jeffrey knock and enter her room.
"Ma'am, it's time to leave," Jeffrey said to Ariel.
Ariel looks surprise and wonder where they are taking her again, but she thinks it might be an opportunity for her to escape, so she gladly followed him.
Looking at all of Alaska's men, they looked dangerous; they were not people to be messed with.
She wondered where Alaska was, since she did not see him.
Getting into the car, she wondered where they were taking her, until the car stopped at the front of a big mall.
"Ma'am, we need to check in here for now," Jeffrey said to her, as they opened the car door for her.
She looked at them all bowing for her and wondered why they were all calling her ma'am and bowing. It dawned on her that it must be because she is now Alaska's wife.
"Am I truly his wife?" Ariel's heart seemed broken.
"His borrowed wife?" She felt like crying.
She felt she needed an explanation for whatever was going on, but who would she turn to for that? She felt she was being abducted in daylight, and no one was saying anything about it.
Who would even say anything to Alaska and his men? She thought of shouting for help, but she knew it was useless, because no one would come to her aid, not even the police or authority because they all fear him.
She reluctantly entered the mall as Jeffrey led her into a VIP room. Jeffrey whispered some things to the ladies there and left the room.
Ariel did not even care; she just sat down on the chair, heartbroken. After Jeffrey left the room, the ladies started to work on her makeup, her hair, and had her changed into a new outfit.
Looking at herself in the mirror after the whole session, Ariel blinked; it seemed she was totally transformed into a new person, and everything on her was worth millions - the jewelry, purse, shoes, and the dress.
She looked awe at herself.
She felt different, money was sure good.
But thinking about getting involved with someone like Alaska, she felt drained and could not care less. All she wanted was to escape.
Jeffrey soon came in to lead her back to the car, Alaska's men followed her closely. She knew was been monitored, just like that she had lost her freedom.
"Where are we going?" She managed to talk for the first time that day.
"You will be attending a ball with the don as husband and wife," Jeffrey reluctantly replied.
Ariel raised her brows, stunned.
"This occasion is very important to don, just like his life" Jefrey explains the importance of the ball to her and why her presence is important. His afraid that she might cause problem for Alaska at the ball so he tries to let her know her duty but he did go into much details.
**
That day is an important day for Alaska; he had never been nervous his whole life. He always has everything under control, but for the first time, he seems nervous.
After he submitted a copy of the marriage certificate for verification, and it was confirmed that he indeed got married, the board of election was surprised that someone like Alaska actually got a wife, and they wondered who the wife was, because the condition was to disqualify him from the candidates for the position believing no one will marry someone like him.
Wanting to see for themselves, they asked him to bring his wife to the assembly ball that evening.
He seemed nervous, not because he was not confident in himself, but because he did not know if Ariel would actually cooperate with him at the ball.
He knew that if she did not cooperate, he would be exposed about borrowing the marriage, and all of his efforts would be wasted.
As a mafia lord, he could use force, but he was determined to prove everyone wrong and campaign like other candidates, then become the governor.
It was almost time for the ball to start; he was already waiting in the dressing room for Ariel, where she was supposed to meet with him. He wore a black tuxedo suit; everything was all black, his hair combed back neatly.
He looked really handsome like a gentleman, walking back and forth, he seems more anxious than nervous.
The door to the waiting room opened; Ariel lifted up her head and looked up to Alaska, who looked stunned to see her. Alaska was amazed at her beauty; she looked gorgeous in the creamy long gown, her hair styled perfectly.
"She is pretty," he muttered to himself, staring at her.
"Don," Jeffrey's voice instantly jolted Alaska.
"You are here," Alaska snapped out of his daze.
Jeffrey moved close to Alaska and whispered some things to him. Ariel didn't care about what they were saying and just sat down on the cushion chair in the room.
"Bride, you have to cooperate with me this evening. You have to go to the ball with me," Alaska moved closer to her trying to explain her role to her.
But Ariel was rather scared of him and shifted back on her seat.
"There can be no mistake, else..." Alaska looked at her with dangerous stares.
Ariel nodded shakily.
Alaska sighed and turned to Jeffrey; they started discussing and left the room.
Ariel's face fell the moment Alaska and Jeffrey went out of the room. She hated herself and her life. She thought she would wake up that morning and everything Alaska told her yesterday would be just a nightmare, but it was all true.
It dawned on her that she would have to become Alaska's wife for real, even though she did not agree to such a thing.
"Am I going to really be his wife?" she thought to herself.
"How did this happen?" She was so confused about everything happening so fast; she didn't know what to believe.
She shook her head in denial that she was going to be Alaska's wife for real.
"I cannot go to that ball! Everyone will see that I am his wife. Everyone will hate me for associating with him," Ariel sobbed silently.
"I can't let that happen!"
She knew that if she went to the ball with Alaska as his wife, the whole country would know that she is Alaska's wife. People didn't associate with him, knowing how dangerous Alaska is, so if they knew she had become his wife, they would stay away from her too.
Everyone would hate her and believe she must have married him for money.
Ariel hated that; she had never been loved all her life until she met Jack, and now her life would turn to be hated again. She knew she couldn't bear that.
"I have to find a way, even if I must die," she thought, determined to do anything to get away from Alaska.
As the two men continued to discuss outside, Ariel was left alone in the waiting room, trying to process what to do.
She knew she was trapped in a situation she didn't understand, with a man she knew was the most dangerous. As she looked around the waiting room, she noticed another door leading to another room; her eyes sparkled, giving her a glimmer of hope.
She knew she needed to get away from Alaska as soon as possible, even if she would die, but first, she needed answers.
She needed to find out if Jack went to the registered their marriage like he said. She thought that if Jack truly registered their marriage, she could expose Alaska and might be able to get away from him.
She entered the small room and luckily saw a window; she tried to open the window, and it easily opened for her. Ariel sighed and instantly thought of getting away; she quickly took off her shoes and climbed out the window, then jumped down.
She looked around to make sure none of Alaska's men saw her, then she took to her heels.
"The ball is starting; go get her to the car," Alaska told Jeffrey looking at his watch.
"Okay, don," Jeffrey entered the waiting room, but Ariel was gone.
Jeffrey came back into the waiting room and realized Ariel was gone.
"Don, she is gone," Jeffrey exclaimed, and Alaska rushed into the room quickly to see that Ariel was truly gone.
