She tried removing his hands but she couldn't and he smiled creepily.

"Won't it be fun if I was fucking you right now while holding your throat like this?" He asked and she blinked as she felt her middle twitch.

She clasped her legs together as she stared into those cold eyes.

"Let go of me" She said slowly and he chuckled letting go of her neck.

She fell on her knees coughing loudly and he smirked before leaving the room.

She inhaled and exhaled wiping the tears on her face. Her phone rang and she stood up. She brought it out from her back pocket and answered the call.

"He's coming ma'am, he just left the hotel after receiving a call" Arlene said and she heard a car roughly put to a stop.

She ended the call and called her driver who picked immediately.

"Come now" She ordered and ended the call before pocketing her phone. She walked to the balcony and closed the door before looking down.

She heard footsteps and she looked back before looking down. She saw the limousine and the cover of the limousine was open. She smirked before jumping, she took hold of the AC and sighed before jumping down landing inside the limousine.

The cover closed up and the limousine drove off.

Matteo got into his room and rushed to the refrigerator. He didn't see the design and his eyes widened.

"No!!!" He yelled and rushed to the balcony opening the door. He looked down but saw no one, the reporter's dead body was already taken away and burnt to ashes by Liam's guards.

He walked back into the room and called the receptionist.

"Where's that stupid reporter?" He asked.

"He arrived here a while ago. I didn't see him leave so he should be there" She said and Matteo frowned ending the call.

He dropped the phone angrily.

"Reina" he said with greeted teeth before punching the rails hard.

✓✓ MARIPOSA CORPORATION ✓✓

Reina came downstairs making Arlene and Casper to stand.

"You can go home" She said and Casper bowed before leaving.

"Good night ma'am" Arlene said and bowed before leaving the mansion.

'Imperfect!!' her mind shouted and she closed her eyes and opened them before walking upstairs.

She closed the door and saw a figure at her bed side.

"If only you were perfect, this wouldn't have happened" He said and she rubbed her eyes.

The ghost wasn't there and she sighed before going to the mirror staring at herself.

"I'm becoming imperfect. What's changing me?" She asked herself before sighing.

She went into her restroom and closed the door. She took off her robe and switched on the shower. She stayed under the cold shower and squatted to the ground hugging her knees to her chest.

She remembered Liam words from earlier and she exhaled.

"What's wrong with that man?"

'He is imperfect, stay away from him' her mind said and she nodded.

She stood up and switched off the shower before taking off her night gown. She walked out of the room and went to the closet. The AC blowing cold air on her skin and she brought out a black night gown putting it on.

She went to her window and stared at the stars sitting beautifully on the sky. She let out a small smile remembering the time she sat under the stars with her mum. Her smile turned upside down and she closed the window before coming to the bed.

She laid down and covered herself with the duvet as she shut her eyes drifting off to sleep.

✓✓ BECKETT MANSION ≈ LIAM'S ROOM ✓✓

He was standing at the terrace staring at the stars while holding a glass of whiskey. He gulped it down in a go and turned to see his guard.

"She's home now boss" he said and Liam nodded before waving his hand for him to go. He bowed and left.

Why he was there when Reina was falling was because he followed her there. He saw her leaving the party so he followed her without her noticing.

He got a bottle and served himself before taking a sip as he went back to the terrace.

"Reina Mariposa. The perfect billionaire was imperfect tonight" he said and took another sip.

"Why is she so bent on being perfect?" He asked himself before remembering the slap she gave him.

He smirked thinking of ways to make her pay.

✓✓ ARLENE'S APARTMENT ✓✓

Arlene walked into the house and sat on her chair with a sigh.

"Sweetie, come and have dinner" her dad said from the dinning room and she smiled standing up. She went there and gave her dad a kiss on the cheek.

"Good evening" She said and he smiled.

"Evening. How was work today?" He asked and she smiled settling down on the chair.

"It was good"

"I hope you were treated well" he said and she smiled as he gave her a plate of chicken nugget.

"Yes I was but I kinda wonder why miss Reina want everyone and everything to be perfect" She said and he smiled sitting down on the chair.

"I wonder too but then we can't do anything. If you don't want to loose your job then I guess you shouldn't pry in her business. You shouldn't act imperfect Arlene" he told her and she nodded.

"I can't loose my job. I've seen her fire a lot of people and damn, I don't want to be in that position" she said and her father smiled.

"Let's eat" he said and she nodded as they began eating.

≈ THE NEXT MORNING ≈

Reina's limousine arrived in front of the building and the door was opened by the new guard she hired.

She and Arlene got down and Matteo walked up to her but her guards blocked him.

"You're a thief!!!" He yelled and she just stared at him.

The reporters there wanted to come as usual but her guards held them back.

"What did I steal?" She asked plainly.

"You stole the design we...."

"You will rot in jail for years if you complete that statement" she warned and he bit his tongue angrily.

"The design was made by me. It was an imperfect decision to work with an asshole like you. That will never happen again" she said and the guards pushed him away as she walked into the building.

A lady managed to push past the guards and rushed to Reina pulling her back. She gave her a slap on the cheek.

Reina's eyes widened same as everyone around.

"Murderer!!!!"

Chapter 5

"Murderer?" A reporter asked and they forcefully pushed through the guards running towards Reina.

≈ "What does she mean by that Miss Reina?"

≈ "Who did you kill?"

≈ "Did you kill someone because he/she wasn't perfect enough?"

"Y'all shut up!!" She snapped and they kept quiet.

More guards came and pushed them away from Reina. Reina looked at Pinah and slapped her back making her fall to the ground.

She looked down at Pinah with anger in her eyes.

"Why would you raise those filthy hands on my face?" She asked.

"Why won't I? You killed my brother!! You deserve more than that bitch!!" Pinah yelled and Reina turned. She continued the walk into her building and Arlene quickly followed her.

Casper and two other guards took hold of pinah and pulled her into the building with them.

Matteo smirked and left the premises.

"Give the reporters who keep coming to my corporation a restraining order. They're not allowed near me or my office. If they breech the restraining order, not only will you get them arrested, you'd also make sure they loose their jobs" Reina said to the cops general.

"Yes ma'am"

"I want that done now" Reina said and ended the call.

She rested her back on the chair staring at Pinah who had tears in her eyes.

"I didn't kill your....."

"Yes you did!!! He was really angry when you got me fired because of a mere letter in a word. He was the reporter who asked you a question concerning the firing of people...."

"Could you just get to the damn point?" She interrupted coldly and Pinah sniffed.

"You killed him just because he wanted to help me. Just because he wanted justice" Pinah said and Reina just gave her a stare.

"Who told you I killed him?"

"Your partner. The one you were talking to this morning" Pinah said and Reina frowned.

"He told you I killed him and you believed that?" She asked.

"I don't care who killed him. Just bring him back. He's the only family I have and y'all took him away" She cried and Reina placed her elbows on the desk staring keenly at her.

"I didn't kill your brother. I'm too perfect to do that" Reina said and Pinah sniffed.

"I will compensate you though. I'd give you 10 million dollars to leave this country and never return. If you do, I'd send you to jail for slander" Reina said and looked at Arlene.

Arlene understood and opened her handbag getting a cheque book from her bag before bringing it to her.

She took it and wrote 10 million on the cheque before handing it to Pinah. She sniffed and her guards let go of her. She walked to Reina and slowly took it from her.

"My deepest condolences. Try to be happy and endeavor to utilize the money well" she said plainly and Pinah stared at the cheque for a long time before looking at Reina.

"Thank you" Pinah said and turned leaving the building.

Arlene stared at Pinah for a while before sighing looking at Reina who was already seated.

"Do you think she'd leave and not come back?" Casper asked.

"Of course she would. If she doesn't, she rots in jail" Reina said.

"What about the shadow at the party? Were you able to get a hold of him?" She asked and he shook his head.

"I'm sorry ma'am. He was too fast" Casper said bowing slightly.

"It's not a problem. I will find him, sooner or later" She said and Arlene spoke up.

"What about Matteo? He's becoming a pest in your life currently"

"Don't worry, I'd handle him" Reina said and Arlene nodded.

"My schedule"

"Ohh right." Arlene said and went to get the file. She opened it and read through it.

"You're having a meeting with the owner of Beckett Corporation" Arlene said slowly.

"A meeting with him? How did that happen?" She asked.

"I don't know ma'am. That's what I'm seeing in the file" Arlene said.

"Cancel it" She said plainly and Arlene nodded striking it out.

"You're going to the site today with some investors to check out the hotel being built" Arlene said and Reina stood.

"Let's go" Reina said and walked out of the office. She looked at the employees working on their computers and she smiled a little noticing how perfect everyone was behaving.

She left the building and the new guard opened the door. She got in same with Arlene and Casper. The driver ignited the engine and drove off.

"Miss Reina, to further maximize your benefits, we're including smart mini bars with premium products which will be located in a room in the middle of the hotel" The first investor said and Reina nodded slowly.

They entered the elevator which took them to the roof of the building.

"Most guests love flowers and green plants so it's not bad if we grow some here" The second investor said.

"What will that profit me when we grow those things?" Reina asked.

"Nothing actually. The roof is free, they're just going to admire, they can't pay for that yunno" He said and she just stared at him.

"Let's go to another place I wanna show you" the third investor said and started walking.

The rest followed him. Reina thought for a while before walking after them with Arlene and Casper walking behind her.

"Then in the bedroom, we'd offer high end amenities like luxurious bedding and in the restroom, designer toiletries that will attract high paying guests" He said and she nodded looking around the spacious room.

She walked to the restroom and she blinked seeing how spacious it was. She let out a small smile before leaving the restroom.

They left the building and the first one spoke.

"We'd like to propose a unique revenue sharing model that will guarantee you a significant percentage of the hotel's profit"

"What kind of revenue model?" She asked.

"We're proposing a 50/30/20 revenue sharing model. You'll receive 50% of the hotel's net profits while we'll allocate 30% to cover operational costs and 20% to us"

"That sounds perfect. I accept the proposal" Reina said and they smiled.

"We believe that by working together, we'd be able to create a truly exceptional luxury hotel that will generate important profits and seal your reputation as a leading hospitality expert" the second one finalized and she thought for a while before letting out a slow smile.

"I like this" She said and they all smiled feeling happy she didn't reject it.

"This hotel will be perfect, I don't regret signing this deal with y'all" She said and turned leaving their sight.

The investors jumped happily which made Arlene smile before turning, going after Reina.

They got to the limousine and Reina was about to enter when a car roughly drove towards them.

Reina looked at the car waiting for the person to alight. The door opened and a tall domineering figure got down the car making Reina frown.

"Miss Reina Mariposa, it's a surprise meeting you here" he said cockily and she got into the car. Arlene and Casper got in as well and the driver ignited the engine driving off.

He smirked and got into his car igniting the engine before speeding after them.

"We're going to have that meeting Reina" he muttered with a smirk and increased his speed passing the limousine. He stopped the car in front of them making the driver step on the brakes quickly.

"Should I handle him ma'am?" Casper asked as they watch him get down from his car.

"No. I'd go meet him" she said and got down walking to him.

"Hello again Miss Reina" he said with a bow and she gave him a blank stare before asking.

"What do you want?"

"You're behind schedule. We're supposed to have a meeting this morning"

"Well I changed my mind. I don't want any deals with you" Reina said and he chuckled.

"My offer is still on. You'd only add more money to your billions, while I'll add to my trillions. See the difference?" He asked and she frowned.

"I don't want to work with you Liam, d..."

"Damnnn, the way my name left your sexy lips. Say it again" he interrupted with a corny smile.

She blinked before turning to go.

"If you don't come for the meeting, I will ruin you. Just 1 hour with me won't do you any harm yunno" he said and she stopped.

"You can't"

"Oh yes I can. My connections are beyond this city, one word from me to them and I'd take you off the face of this world. Then you can be perfectly perfect wherever you happen to go" He said and she turned.

"Are you threatening me?"

"No my lady, I'm only advising you. Accept my proposal and increase your money or deny my proposal and loose everything including your life" He said and she stepped closer to him.

"You can't kill me. I won't let you" she said and he smirked leaning closer staring at her lips.

"That's true. I can't kill you but if I wanted more power, I have to do away with you so maybe I'll do just that" He said and she stepped back.

"When do you want the meeting?"

"Tonight, my mansion, 9pm sharp"

"9pm for what?! I can't come meet you by that time when you have crazy things in your head. Let's do...."

"You would have simply done it this morning but you wanted it to be private and I respect that. This night, we'd meet. The deal concerns us both so come alone" he interrupted with a smirk and poked her nose before walking to his car. He got in and drove off.

She frowned wiping her nose before facing the limousine. She walked back to it and got in.

"Drive" she told the driver and he ignited the engine driving off.

"What did he say ma'am?" Arlene asked and she looked at her.

"We're having a business meeting later tonight. No further questions" She said and rested her head on the car rest closing her eyes.

✓✓ MATTEO'S ROOM ✓✓

"So she gave you this to leave the country?" Matteo asked Pinah.

"Yes she did. I plan on leaving tonight though, just wanted to let you know that your money means absolutely nothing. You are supposed to be in question" she said and he frowned.

"Why?"

"Why was he even in your room? What did you both have to discuss that made him come to your room??" She asked but he kept shut.

"And now he's missing and you said he's dead. How do you know he's dead when you don't even know where he is?" She asked and he grabbed her by the throat.

"I can kill you right here and no one would do anything about it so if I were you, I would shut up" he seethed.

"You can't harm me Matteo. Someone is listening in on our conversation right now and if care isn't taken, you'd be on the news this night so try to be careful" she said calmly and he frowned letting go of her.

She fell on her knees coughing a bit before standing up.

"Good day Matteo" she said and walked out of his room.

He frowned deeply before punching the wall.

He took out his phone and the person on his screen was Reina. He stared at her face for a while before opening his phone.

He dialled a line and the person picked after the first ring.

"Where's she heading now?"

"She's going to her office." The person replied.

"Does she have plans tonight?" He asked.

"Yes. She's having a meeting with the owner of Beckett Corporation by 9pm"

"And why would she agree to have that meeting that late in the night when she knows that the owner is a crook?!!" He snapped.

"I have no idea. I have to go" the person said and ended the call.

"Damn it" He said and turned only to gasp.

"How long have you been there?" He asked and Liam chuckled stepping closer to him, his five guards behind him.

"I've been there long enough to hear what you were saying about me. So you have a spy in Reina's corporation? How interesting" he said and Matteo stepped back.

"That's none of your business. Leave this place or I'd sue you for trespassing" Matteo threatened fearfully.

"Really? Did you forget that I own 50% of this hotel? I can take you out of this hotel right now if I want to" Liam said calmly.

"What do you want?!" He asked.

"Just something simple" Liam said with a cold smirk.

✓✓ BECKETT MANSION ≈ 9PM ✓✓

Reina's Lamborghini arrived in front of the huge mansion and the gate was opened for her to drive in.

She alighted from her car and walked to the door ringing the door bell.

The door opened and the maid came to view.

"You're Miss Reina right?" She asked and Reina nodded.

"Come on in. Boss is waiting for you in his room" She said and Reina folded her fists before walking past her.

She climbed the escalator which took her to the rooms. There was a room which the door was painted black and she walked to it knocking on the door.

She got no response and she scoffed before pushing open the door. She blinked looking around the room that was painted black and white..

She came across a photo frame of Liam and she picked it up staring at it. She slowly caressed his face on the frame with a tiny smile.

She realized what she did and dropped the frame. The door to the restroom opened and he stepped out with a towel wrapped around his waist.

She turned to the restroom and she blinked when she saw the hair sticking to his face. His pink lips added to his cuteness and then her eyes moved to his abs.

"I know I'm hot, stop drooling" he said dryly and walked to his closet getting a black short and a black shirt.

He looked at her and she turned her back on him. He chuckled and put on his clothes before staring at her back side for a while. He just wished he could grab them right now.

"I'm done" he said and walked to the balcony. A table was set there with a bottle of red wine. He sat on a chair and she looked at him.

"Aren't you coming?" He asked and she walked to the balcony having her sit.

"You look sexy by the way" he complimented with a smirk and she gave him a look.

She was putting on a black armless tank top and a blue baggy jean.

"Whatever. What's the deal about?" She asked.

"Before I proceed, just wanted to let you know that you were imperfect today" he said and he frowned when saw fear flash through her eyes.

"How?" She asked rubbing her fingers under the table.

"You're being spied on without even knowing and yet you call yourself perfect" He said and she closed her eyes as she rubbed her fingers harder.

"By who?" She asked, her voice wavering a little.

"That I don't know" he said and she opened her eyes.

"Sometimes, you can be imperfect there's...."

"I'm not imperfect!! I'm perfect!!" She snapped and he blinked.

"If you were, you wouldn't have been spied on" he said and she saw the ghost again.

'Such a disgrace.' He said with disappointment in his voice.

Tears welled up in her eyes and Liam smirked.

'There must be a reason for your urge for perfection. I will find out the reason soon' he thought and she stood up slowly.

Her fingers were really red and she closed her eyes.

"I need to use the restroom" she said and rushed to the restroom closing the door.

She switched on the cold shower and sat under the shower letting the cold water pour on her.

"Such a disgrace!!!"

"Imperfect!!"

"You're a disappointment to this family!!"

She wanted to scream but she couldn't. She closed her eyes as hot tears trailed down her eyes.

"You showering or what?" He asked and left the balcony getting to the bathroom. He tried opening the door but he couldn't.

"Reina, open the damn door" He said but he got no reply.

He went to his drawer and got a key before coming to the door unlocking it. His eyes widened when he saw her under the shower and he rushed to her.

He switched it off before holding her face in his hands.

"What's wrong with you?"

"Let go of me!!" She yelled and pushed him but he didn't move.

"Why are you staying under the shower?" He asked and she pushed him aside standing up.

She wanted to leave but he pulled her back by the arm pulling her into a comforting hug.

"It's okay. You're perfect, you're not imperfect" he said and she sniffed on his chest.

He smiled as he patted her back and rubbed her hair.

She came out of the restroom wearing a black big shirt and a black short. Her hair was still wet and she sat down on the couch in the room.

He was sitting on a chair opposite her staring intently at her.

"What's really wrong?" He asked and she chuckled.

"You expect me to tell you? That's funny" She said and he just stared at her.

"I will find out" he said.

"Then so be it. Finding out won't change anything" she said and he smiled a bit.

"Okay, why did you stay under the cold shower?"

"I'm used to it" she said plainly.

"Alright, let's have a drink first" he said and stood going to get the wine. He poured into the two glasses before handing one to her.

She collected and stared at the content for a while.

"Don't worry, I didn't sedate it. If I want you, I would want you willingly not because I drugged you" he said and she shot him a glare.

"You never stop don't you?" She asked.

"Not until I get what's mine" He said with a smirk playing on his lips.
