After I Died, My Companion Peeked into Heaven's Will for Me Chapter 1

My husband was the Grandmaster of the Celestial Pavilion, known as the most accurate seer of his time.

But seven years into our marriage, he became entangled with his disciple.

He insisted it was nothing more than a master-student bond, yet when his disciple leaned in cautiously to kiss him, he didn’t pull away.

Later, when I was being hunted by the dark forces, just a step away from death, I used my last ounce of strength to send a final note.

[Elias, did you foresee my death?]

——

“Heather, can you stop with this nonsense? I told you, there’s nothing going on between me and her!” Elias Herring snapped, his voice filled with frustration.

I glanced at him calmly. “I don’t care what your relationship is with her. I want a divorce.”

“No! We’re not getting divorced,” Elias replied with a deep frown, irritation clear on his usually handsome face.

I wasn’t afraid to call him out. “You’re just worried that if we divorce, your dear little protégé will be labeled a homewrecker.”

Their entanglement had been going on for some time. At first, I naively believed people were misunderstanding their relationship. I even defended them.

But then, one day, when I went to visit Elias at his work at the Oracle’s Tower, I saw it. Clear as day, his apprentice, Quinn Ayers, gently leaned in and kissed him on the lips. And Elias, though frowning slightly, didn’t pull away.

One kiss sealed everything.

Their so-called “mentor-student” relationship had crossed the line long ago.

All the strength drained from me as I stood frozen, unable to believe what I was seeing. I left, quietly, without a word.

If I divorced Elias, it would confirm that Quinn had indeed been the “other woman.” Elias would never agree to that.

His precious reputation would be ruined – after all, falling for one’s disciple isn’t exactly something an honorable mentor would condone.

There was a flicker of embarrassment on Elias’s face as I exposed his lie, but he quickly masked it with stubborn denial. “You’re reading too much into it!”

With that, he hurried out of the room, likely to meet Quinn again.

The early days of infatuation... it was sickening to witness.

I had no energy left to care anymore. I grabbed my sword and left, deciding to distract myself with a bit of traveling, not realizing that this journey would be my last.

I was surrounded.

I had long been a thorn in the side of the dark forces, wiping out countless enemies over the years. And now, they had come for revenge.

My hand instinctively gripped my sword, sensing the dark presence around me.

There were too many of them.

I felt my heart sink as I realized that today might be the day I meet my end.

My close friend, Rowan Locke, was still deep in meditation.

Elias wouldn’t come for me. And the rest of my disciples were far too weak – I couldn’t let them rush to their deaths for my sake.

“Show yourselves!” I shouted, fully prepared to face my fate.

Meanwhile, in a very different scene...

“Master!” Quinn’s voice rang out, sweet and soft.

Elias Herring smiled gently at her, brushing a stray lock of hair away from her face, causing Quinn to blush a deep shade of pink.

“How’s your training going?” he asked warmly.

“Same as always...” she replied, her voice trailing off.

“Let me help you with your energy channels then.”

Elias moved behind her, pressing his fingers lightly against her wrist.

Quinn, not missing the chance, leaned closer into his embrace.

Elias didn’t pull away.

The air between them grew thick with tension. Quinn shifted closer, clearly testing the limits.

“Behave,” Elias’s voice dropped to a husky whisper, strained with suppressed desire. “Stop moving.”

Quinn giggled softly but said nothing, her body still nestled against him.

At that moment, a delicate pink paper crane floated through the window.

Elias scowled and swatted it away impatiently. He knew it was from me.

I loved the color pink, and everything I sent was in that color.

Before we got married, Elias once gathered the rarest pink blossoms from the highest peak, even going so far as to dye his sword pink to make me smile.

But now, he hated the color. He glared at the paper crane with disgust.

“Aren’t you going to check what your wife sent?” Quinn asked innocently, though her tone carried a hint of mockery.

“No need. It’s not important,” Elias said dismissively.

Quinn didn’t say anything more. Instead, she lazily nestled into Elias’s arms.

Elias shifted slightly, adjusting his position to make her more comfortable.

“Master, I’m tired,” she sighed softly.

“Then let’s rest,” Elias murmured, his hand tenderly cupping her cheek. “How about I take you somewhere fun?”

“You’re the best, Master!” Quinn giggled, planting a light kiss on his cheek.

Elias froze for a moment before smiling warmly back at her.

“Of course, I always spoil you.”
