Judith lost too much blood and the doctor suggested that she should be observed for a while, but she still went through the discharge procedures the next day.
Stella's death anniversary was coming soon and she wanted to spend some time with her on her cemetery.
Judith came to City Cemetery with a bunch of daisies. The girl in the photo was so young and beautiful. She was obviously Steven's biological sister, but the two of them were not similar at all.
"Stella,I'm here to see you.I dreamed of you again yesterday, dreaming of us playing together when we were little.I'm almost done with what I promised you and there's only one thing left to go to the 100th."
"Stella, this may be the last time I come to the cemetery to see you,"
Judith put her hand on her chest,"I'll take you home when I'm done.Remember, you used to like to come to my house and every time my mom made braised pork, you would eat two bowls of rice with it."
She leaned on the tombstone, telling her thoughts as she did on Stella's shoulder before."You know,I really miss you so much..."
As she spoke, tears flowed uncontrollably, dripping on the ground and leaving a trail of water.
Judith talked with Stella for a long time. Then, when she was about to leave, she looked up and saw a group of people led by Steven approaching in a mighty manner.
Judith didn't expect Steven to come. After all, since their parents divorced, the contact between the siblings had become less and less and even Stella's funeral did not invite the Wilson Family.
Steven noticed her first and a smile appeared on his lips."Judith, why are you so mean? It's fine to investigate my whereabouts in the past, but now you follow me to the cemetery."
Judith was confused until she saw Maddie holding a small box in the hands of the crowd and she realized that she had misunderstood. She thought Steven was here to pay tribute to Stella.
"I didn't,I came to see a friend."
No one believed Judith's pale explanation.
After all, everyone saw how she pestered Steven before.
"Stop it,everyone knows that you are so devoted to Steven that he can't be driven away.Oh,I see,you are playing hard to get."
"She gets proud when she licks the dog and she will be quiet when Steven ignores her."
"I saw the direction you just walked from, that seems to be the cheapest cemetery here.Maddie's pet dog was buried today and Steven directly bought the most expensive land.Otherwise, you can beg Maddie to see if she is willing to move a land for you."
Because Stella spent almost all of her mother's savings on medical treatment, even the cemetery fee was paid by Judith's parents.
Judith didn't want to argue. It didn't matter how they ridiculed and mocked her on weekdays, but they shouldn't insult Stella.
She slapped the man angrily,"If you can't speak, sew your mouth with a needle,so that you won't be surrounded by your foul breath."
The man was stunned. He didn't expect that the cowardly Judith would resist him.He subconsciously wanted to fight back, but was stopped by Steven.
"Since you said you are here to see a friend and we have known each other for so long, you should introduce us to each other."
Judith suddenly had a bad feeling in her heart.
"Steven,don't!"
She wanted to stop him but was restrained.
Steven quickly found the only tombstone with a bouquet of flowers, but he didn't recognize the person in the picture, but frowned when he saw the name.
After a moment of stunned,he slowly came back to his senses and thought about how this could be possible, the same name and surname.
Thinking of this,he looked at Judith provocatively and kicked the bouquet away with one foot amid her desperate begging roar.
As he gave the order,Stella's grave was tossed beyond recognition by the group of people.
"It's unlucky to have the same name as Steven's sister. It's a pity that the same name means different fate.Maddie just received an email from Sister Stella not long ago.She is doing well abroad."
"It's not her fault. After all,she is a friend of someone like Judith. How can she be a good person?"
Judith, who was still begging, was stunned. She raised her head in surprise and looked at Maddie,"What do you mean?"
She wanted to find that person to ask clearly, but was interrupted by Maddie anxiously.
"Okay,Steven,it's getting late. It's not good to delay the auspicious time."
Steven looked at the dull and painful Judith with satisfaction and said mercifully,"This is just a small lesson for you.A dog dares to bite its master!"
"Okay,I'm not leaving."
The huge amount of information almost overwhelmed her.Judith collapsed to the ground powerlessly.
Stella was not dead? What on earth was going on?
Judith walked out of the cemetery in a daze, overwhelmed by the huge amount of information.
Is Stella really still alive?I saw her buried with my own eyes!
Recalling this series of events,Judith suddenly remembered that the hospital where Stella was treated seemed to be the property of one of their families. The mystery in her heart became bigger and clearer.
Judith was about to call a taxi, but suddenly she felt a slight tingling sensation in her neck and she lost consciousness the next second.
After an unknown amount of time, the cold touch of the floor woke her up slowly.
It was dark in front of her eyes.Judith moved her body and tried to take off the blindfold, but found that her hands and feet were tied.
"Is there anyone here?"
"Hello?Where is this?"
Judith's voice was dry and she kept shouting.
But no matter how she shouted, the only response from her was the empty echo.
Gradually,Judith stopped struggling.Although she didn't know who started it,the most important thing now was to save her energy for emergencies.
It was dark all around,as if she couldn't feel the passage of time.
Suddenly,a hint of smoke in the air made her alarm bells ring.Bursts of fire came from the spacious and cold surroundings and the light and shadow swayed through the blindfold.
Judith desperately turned her red wrist and crawled to stand up.
At this time, the cover in front of her was torn open and the sudden light made her turn her eyes away reflexively, leaving a few drops of physiological tears.
In the blur, she seemed to see a tall figure disappear from her sight.Judith didn't have time to see clearly and the fire around her had grown bigger.
The effect of the anesthetic gradually wore off and she half-knelt on the ground, reaching out to the rope on her feet. The fire gradually approached and the air became thinner and thinner.
Finally,at the last moment,Judith successfully untied the rope and she ran desperately in the direction where the figure disappeared.
But unfortunately, the door was tightly closed and no matter how she fiddled with it,it didn't move at all and even burned her hands with several blisters.
Almost in an instant,Judith made a decisive move and crashed into the glass window beside her.The fire burned the wood a little loose and under the continuous impact of her body, with a punch, the glass shattered and she immediately escaped from the gap.
Judith breathed the air greedily and the sound of the building collapsing behind her seemed like a death warrant, forcing her to keep running.
Finally,at the fork in the road, she met the fire brigade and police who came to rescue.
Judith followed them back to the police station to make a record. The female police officer put a blanket on her and simply treated her wounds.
According to the on-site investigation,a burnt lighter was found and some burning residues were left around.
The investigator told Judith that although the source of the fire was known, the instigator had not been found. What was even more strange was that the surveillance cameras nearby were all broken for some reason and it would take some time to repair them.
Judith refused the policewoman's request to send her home,as she had already caused enough trouble. The kidnapping incident had left her with a psychological trauma.
On the way home,Judith decisively chose the main road, but unfortunately ran into a group of rich second-generations.
One luxury supercar after another flashed past her and stopped.Judith subconsciously moved away, but heard a familiar voice.
"Steven has sent people to kidnap Judith as you ordered to teach her a lesson. The surveillance cameras within a radius of 100 miles have also been destroyed. She won't think it was us who did it."
"According to Judith's personality, she will probably cry and come to Steven for comfort.Steven is not allowed to feel sorry for her then."
"That's right,Steven.Judith, that bitch, actually dared to hit our friends. We must not let her go easily. We must also get back what happened to Maddie last time."
Steven's expression was unclear. He slowly exhaled a puff of smoke, leaned lazily on the sports car and said,"Judith has been a little confused about who she is recently. It's good to teach her a lesson."
Hearing what Steven said, everyone started to make a fuss again. The sarcastic and mocking words were transmitted word by word into Judith's ears hiding behind the notice board.
Disappointment melted in her eyes and a tear fell from the corner of her eyes.
Judith sent the recorded audio to the policewoman with trembling hands. She wiped her face, thinking that she would not cry for Steven again.
But people were all made of flesh and blood. How many times must they experience disappointment before they would not be sad because of others'hurt?
In the next few days,Judith did not come to Steven to express her sympathy as they expected. She returned to her hometown with doubts in her heart.
Knocked on the door and the old and kind face of Steven’s mother,Sally Wilson, came into view.
Since Stella's death, she quitted her original job and had been working as a volunteer in the welfare home.Sally, who was once glorious, had now become an old woman with gray hair.
"Judith, long time no see.How come you have time to come back to see me,an old woman, today."
Judith exchanged a few words with her and Sally was still as gentle and kind as she remembered.
After stating her purpose, she came to Stella's room.
When Judith saw the furnishings in the room, her nose was sore. The room was very clean and everything was the same as when Stella was there.
She easily found the relevant certificate of the hospital.
She remembered that Steven once mentioned that because Maddie was weak and sickly, the Hubert Family invested a lot of hospitals. And Stella's condition was found out during the school's unified physical examination. The hospital on the report was a business under the Hubert Family.
A guess exploded in her mind and she immediately took a photo of the medical certificate to the private detective.
Judith asked Sally to have a good rest and declined the request to stay for dinner.
She couldn't wait to return to England and called Maddie to confront her face to face.
And Maddie seemed to have been waiting for Judith for a long time. She immediately sent a location for her to find her.
The car drove towards the villa area,Judith's hands trembled and the excitement of the truth about to be revealed surged all over her body.
Pushing open the door,Maddie sat on the sofa in exquisite attire, leisurely drinking tea.
"It seems you already know. Are you here to call me to task?"
Judith didn't understand why Maddie wasn't afraid at all, frowned and said,"The so-called free physical examination back then was simply to obtain our data to match you."
Maddie nodded in agreement, supported herself on the sofa with both hands and asked back,"Then do you know why I chose Stella?"
Judith shook her head, this was the most puzzling thing for her.Logically speaking,Stella and Maddie grew up together, why was it have to be Stella?
Maddie smiled."Because I hate Stella who always looks like she wants the best for others. How can she understand us,the patients, when she has a healthy body? She always gives advice in a self-righteous way, which is really hypocritical."
Maddie became more and more excited as she spoke,"Originally,I was going to choose one of the many people who matched successfully and fake her accidental death. But when I saw Stella's name on the physical examination list, even if the matching was unsuccessful,I wanted her to taste the despair."
"Doesn't she always make people brave? Will she still be so calm when she really comes to that?"
Judith widened her eyes in disbelief and she forced herself to calm down.
"You know, because I was born with a congenital heart disease,I have always been very inferior and no one wants to play with me.It was Stella who always enlightened me.I am grateful to her for sticking with me for countless days and nights. She always warms the people around her."
Judith gritted her teeth,"But it was because of your selfishness and meanness that you killed such a good person."
Maddie shrugged indifferently and said casually,"I originally wanted to scare her. After all,she is a member of the Wilson Family and I don't want to cause trouble for myself. But I didn't expect that she actually chose to donate her heart. My parents were afraid that the Wilson Family would find out the truth and cause trouble for me,so they sent me abroad overnight."
"But I didn't expect that they haven't found out until now.It seems that the Wilson Family really doesn't care about the life and death of them, mother and daughter. Then what am I worried about?I will return home after the operation."
Judith was so angry that she trembled all over and a fishy sweetness surged into her throat and she forced it down. And Maddie seemed to appreciate her collapse and added fuel to the fire again.
"But logically speaking, you are the murderer who killed Stella. After all,her heart is with you,not with me."
Maddie stood up and pointed to the paper box on the table, her tone brisk,"I know your phone has recording turned on,but there is a jammer in this box,so it's useless."
Judith subconsciously avoided it,holding the phone tighter and tighter.Maddie seemed to be still unsatisfied, she took out a shabby little box and shook it.
Judith's alarm bells immediately rang, she stumbled to her feet, the style of this box was too familiar to her.
"Give it back to me!"
