When Love Comes Again, My Choice Shocks Everyone! Chapter 1

My niece got into a fight at school, and I was summoned to pose as her mom.

Little did I know, the dad of the boy she fought with turned out to be my ex-boyfriend from eight years ago, David Tautou.

David looked at me, mocking, "I can't believe your daughter is already this big."

I retorted sarcastically, "Well, your son isn't exactly small either. Seems like you just impotent when you're with me back then."

Suppressing his anger, David whispered to me, "Ashley, what are you saying? The kids are here!"

Glancing at my smiling niece, Lillian Miller, and his son, Alex Tautou, who still had tears in his eyes, I managed to hold back the urge to continue our verbal sparring.

I decided to ignore him completely and focused on Lillian instead.

"Lillian, when will your teacher be here?"

In the office, it was just the four of us. I was afraid that Lillian's issue wouldn't be resolved before the teacher arrived, and I didn't want to end up arguing with David again.

I just wanted to quickly resolve the matter and get out of there, never wanting to see this self-righteous man again.

"The teacher said he'll come after class, so let's be patient and wait," Lillian replied in her sweet, childish voice, despite her carefree and mismatched personality.

The reason for the parent-teacher meeting was a fight between Lillian and her deskmate, Alex. Not only did she make Alex cry, but she also accidentally broke his new stationery box.

Both kids were adamant, each sticking to their own version of events, refusing to back down. The teacher had no choice but to call in the parents to resolve the issue.

Since the teacher was still in class and couldn't come immediately, I decided to get the details from Lillian briefly first. "Lillian, why did you get into a fight with Alex?"

Glancing at Alex, Lillian pouted before explaining, "He took my eraser and wouldn't admit it. I didn't intend to fight, but when he refused to return it, I pushed him, and he fell off his seat.

"He got up and pushed me back, so I pushed him again, and it went on like that..."

I interrupted her, "Get to the point. Don't loop around endlessly."

"In the end, I pushed him down again, and as he fell, his hand accidentally knocked the stationery box off the table, breaking it, and then... he started crying."

Hearing this, Alex, with tears in his eyes, shouted, "I never took her eraser. That eraser was mine!"

Indignant, Lillian retorted, "It was mine! Your eraser was rectangular, mine is round."

Alex insisted, "I have a bunch of erasers at home, in all colors and shapes!"

...

My head was starting to ache as I thought, "Kids will be kids, fighting over a mere eraser."

David, with a furrowed brow, firmly defended his son, saying, "Alex wouldn't just take someone else's things."

I agreed with him on that, knowing their family's circumstances. They could practically open a factory for erasers with the money they had.

There was definitely a misunderstanding here.

"Lillian, think again. Did you leave your eraser somewhere? Did you have any personal markings on it? Accusing a classmate without evidence isn't right. Even though it's just an eraser, if a classmate gets a bad reputation because of this, they'll be very upset."

Especially for a young child like Alex, this could potentially become a shadow over him for life.
