On the wedding day, the husband put the wedding dress on someone else Chapter 1

On our wedding day, he actually took his foster sister’s hand, half joking, tilted his head toward her, and called her the bride.

The next second, the wedding dress that was supposed to be mine was draped over her shoulders by his own hands.

The guests shifted awkwardly but did not dare speak up. They rushed to smooth things over.

“It’s all family, just a joke.”

“Ulyssa won’t mind. She’s always so sensible.”

They all assumed that, just like the past five years, I would swallow every grievance, hide in a corner, and hurt in silence.

But I simply smiled, pulled out a chair among the guests, and sat down to calmly enjoy the meal.

Only when he finally realized something was wrong did he panic, hastily shove the wrinkled wedding dress back into my arms, and pretend nothing had happened as he spoke gently.

“Ulyssa, come up. Everyone is waiting for you. Don’t hold things up.”

I looked up at him, my expression as calm as if a century had passed.

Then, right in front of him, I tossed the wedding ring into the trash bin.

“Felix, I’m not marrying you.”

He froze. Until that moment, he had no idea that the dress his foster sister had just played with and trampled on was the same one he had begged me to accept five years ago, kneeling outside my door in the rain for three hours, refusing to leave.

I endured for five years, not because I was weak, but because back then he had pursued me with real sincerity for five years.

But now he has lost his memory.

And the five year promise has expired.

I no longer have any reason to stay.

I took out my phone, opened a number that had been buried for three years, and made the call.

A warm and steady voice answered. “Ulyssa?”

In a low voice, I asked, “Three years ago, you said you would marry me. Does that still count?”

……

“Ulyssa, it’s just a wedding dress. I can buy you another one later. Come up and start the ceremony.”

“Today is a happy day. Everyone is waiting for you.”

Seeing that I still wasn’t stepping onto the stage, Felix finally lost his patience. Taking advantage of all the eyes on us, he kept urging me.

His groomsmen sensed something was wrong and came over to persuade me.

“Sis, Felix already agreed to marry you. Don’t throw a tantrum over a dress. Come up.”

“Exactly. You’ve followed Felix for so many years, we all saw it. He might not have you in his heart, but he’s willing to marry you, and that already gives you plenty of face. Don’t make a fuss at an occasion like this.”

They all assumed I would behave like before, that as long as Felix said a few words, I would swallow the hurt and quietly return to his side.

But this time, I simply looked at them calmly. My voice was flat, without a trace of emotion.

“I’m not getting married.”

The moment the words fell, the entire hall froze. Then laughter burst out.

“She’s probably waiting for Felix to coax her.”

“A woman who forces herself onto a man, and now she’s making a scene over a dress. Embarrassing Felix like this in public. How is she supposed to live in that house after marriage?”

“Felix, listen to us. A woman who clings and throws tantrums like this is trouble.”

Relatives from the Gu family were whispering loudly in the guest seats, full of criticism and contempt.

They never saw me as a person, only as an attachment they expected to stay obedient at all times.

I didn’t intend to waste breath on a group of stubborn elders, so I picked a corner seat and sat down.

Not even two seconds later, Felix walked over with a dark expression.

“Ulyssa, what are you doing on our wedding day? Just over a dress, you make me lose face in front of everyone. Do you know how many elders are watching?”

“Stop making trouble, alright? Tracy is just my sister. She tried on your dress for fun. So what? No matter what you wear, you’re still my wife.”

He didn’t mention my feelings at all. His mouth was full of blame, as if I were the one causing him trouble.

After speaking, he grabbed my hand and tried to drag me onto the stage by force.

I couldn’t hold back anymore. I let out a soft laugh, shook off his hand, and spoke even more clearly than before.

“I told you, I’m not making trouble. Felix, I’m simply not getting married.”

He rubbed his forehead, letting out a helpless laugh as though dealing with a stubborn child.

“Ulyssa, what do you want? You’re really still hung up on the dress?”

“Is it worth it? Fine, I’ll have the emcee buy a new one from somewhere nearby. Come up with me and finish the ceremony first, alright?”

After saying that, he shot me a look that allowed no refusal, then turned to instruct the emcee.

He never once asked why I didn’t want to marry him.

I ignored him. A cold, humorless smile appeared as an image flashed in my mind: the boy from five years ago, before his memory was gone, holding this same dress and begging me in a trembling voice to accept it.

The moment I returned to my senses, Tracy suddenly screamed and collapsed to the ground.

“Felix, my waist… it hurts… Was it the wedding dress I tried earlier? I must be allergic. Someone must have wanted to harm me… but I know it wasn’t Ulyssa…”

The more she cried, the worse she sounded, tears falling one after another, her voice so weak it could break any moment.

Felix panicked immediately. He rushed over and lifted her into his arms, his voice filled with fury and accusation.

“Ulyssa, how dare you lay a hand on Tracy? You really have some nerve!”

He shouted while dialing the emergency number.

As he passed by me, he slammed his shoulder hard into mine.
