Two Faces, One Marriage Chapter 1

My husband has an identical twin brother.

Forget me. Their own parents can't tell them apart.

Three years of marriage, and Logan has been perfect. Devoted, patient, bends over backwards for me. I could not name a single real flaw in that man.

Except one.

He and his brother like to swap lives, just to see if anyone notices.

And the day I figured that out, I was already sitting on his brother's lap, two minutes from crossing a line I could not uncross.

Lucas Grant, my husband's older brother, had just rolled back into town. He had been fighting with his wife again, and he'd shown up at our place to drink it off with Logan Grant.

"You don't even know, man," he was saying. "Marrying her was like losing my mind. Before the wedding she never let me see her without makeup. I thought she was just shy. Then I finally see her without it, and I swear to you, I couldn't even get it up."

He finished the glass and turned his head toward me. He was already a few drinks in and his tone had slipped past polite.

"You’re the lucky one, little brother. Look at your wife–naturally beautiful. Compared to her, the one I married… it’s like night and day."

Back in school, Lucas and Logan were the kind of guys everyone noticed. For a long time, I thought marrying Logan was the luckiest thing that ever happened to me. Now, with Lucas piling on the compliments, I felt a little embarrassed.

I used the excuse of getting them something to go with their drinks and went into the kitchen. Standing by the doorway, I could still hear Lucas clearly. Without me around, he spoke even more freely.

"Little brother. You know what's actually killing me? She wants it every single night. Every night. And I can't look at that face without losing the mood. I finish every round like I've lost the will to live."

Logan was always the quieter one. I heard him laugh awkwardly, not really responding.

"What about you, huh? How is it with your wife? With a body like that, you must be having a great time."

Logan seemed embarrassed. I could not see what he did, but Lucas suddenly let out a shout.

"Damn… I really regret it. If I had known back then…."

The rest of his words dropped too low for me to hear..

I brought out a plate of sliced fruit and some braised duck, setting them down in front of them. I smiled and glanced at Lucas.

"What were you two talking about? Looked like you were keeping secrets."

Logan grinned and pulled me into his lap. I could feel he was already half-hard against my hip.

"I said they were secrets, didn't I? Can't tell my wife."

Lucas watched Logan tuck me against him. He picked up his glass and drained it in one go, whatever was in his eyes quickly hidden.

"We were just saying how gorgeous you are."

I sat with them for a while, but it started to feel warm. I told Logan I was going to change and went back to the bedroom.

I had barely closed the door when Logan came in after me.

I was halfway out of my clothes. Turning back, I smiled.

"Perfect timing. Help me unhook this–it’s too tight, I can’t reach the back."

His breathing grew heavier. When he stepped closer and touched my back, his palm was burning hot.

I knew what that meant. I turned and smiled at him. His face was flushed from the alcohol, almost boyish.

I reached behind me and gave him a squeeze through his pants.

The response was immediate.

"Honey… Your brother is right out there. Can't even wait? He's going to hear us and laugh."

Logan pulled me back into him. The bra I had half-unhooked ended up on the floor. His hand came around from behind and cupped my chest.

I felt my body respond, rising slightly as I leaned back against him.

"Since when are you the impatient one?"

Before the words were even out, Logan's voice came from the other side of the door.

"Babe? You still changing in there?"
