Twisted Ambitions Chapter 1

My sister discovers that she resembles a CEO's true love. To take her place, she invites the true love out. She wants to orchestrate an accident to kill the woman.

I arrive before it can happen and put a stop to the whole shebang. On our way home, I try to talk sense into her. Julian Stewart singlehandedly built his empire and is ruthless. He'll eventually see through her tricks, which will land our whole family in hot water.

She nods in agreement. However, when we get home, she laces my drink with poison.

When I'm on the brink of death, she whispers, "You're just jealous because I have a face that can help me marry a rich man. I'll ruin you since you've stood in my way."

When I open my eyes again, I'm taken back to the day she meets Julian's true love.

After a loud crash echoed, my little sister, Estel Gage, rushed out immediately. She ran to the person lying on the ground and shouted urgently, "Forget about the car for now. Call 911!"

With her impeccably made-up face, Estel began performing CPR on the person without hesitation, even resorting to mouth-to-mouth resuscitation without concern for hygiene.

Blood stained her beautiful clothes, and anyone who saw the scene would have praised her selflessness.

When the ambulance arrived, reporters followed. Estel erupted in anger when she was faced with the cameras. "Do you people even have a conscience? Is this the time for interviews? Saving lives is more important!"

She then turned to the medical staff, anxiously explaining the timing of the CPR and pleading with them. "Doctor, you have to save her! She's so beautiful. It would be such a waste if she didn't make it."

The doctor was moved by her plea and reassured her. "Don't worry. We'll do our best. Do you know her family?"

Estel shook her head. "I'm just a passerby, but I can go with you and cover her medical expenses."

The doctor commended her sense of responsibility and urged her to get in the ambulance. As Estel turned away, she discreetly slipped the injured person's phone into her pocket.

I watched the ambulance leave and waited for about half an hour before a luxury car pulled up at the intersection.

A man in a gray suit got out. His face was familiar. It was Simon Dawson, Julian Stewart's assistant. He surveyed the scene and began speaking with the police about what had happened.

I pulled out my phone and sent a message to Estel. "Essie, I saw you on TV. What did you do?"

She replied quickly. "None of your business."

Seeing those four words, I smirked. Estel had read too many CEO romance novels and believed all wealthy CEOs were fools.

After a chance encounter with Julian, where he casually remarked, "You remind me of my wife when she was younger," she started fantasizing about marrying into a wealthy family.

In my past life, I tried tirelessly to advise her against it, but it ended in disaster. This time, the first thing I did was distance myself to avoid being implicated when Julian inevitably retaliated against her.

I was about to head home when the hospital called, saying a patient urgently needed blood and asking if I could help.

Both Estel and I had Rh-negative blood types, and our information was stored in the blood center's system.

Hearing that someone needed help, I didn't hesitate to go to the hospital. To my surprise, the person in need of blood was Julian's wife, Nina Knight.

I then went to the waiting room after donating my blood. When Estel saw me, she froze for a moment.

"What are you doing here?"

I sat down and replied, "They told me someone needed Rh-negative blood, so I came."

Then I glanced at her and asked, "Why were you there?"

I had tried to stop Estel many times after hearing about her plans. I even threatened to report her if she went through with them.

Afraid I might grow suspicious, Estel replied nervously, "I was just passing by."

I simply responded with a hum, leaned back, and closed my eyes to rest.

Even though I stayed quiet, Estel couldn't suppress her urge to boast.

"Esmeray, that woman is Julian Stewart's wife. Did you know that? Julian told me I looked just like her when she was young. Once she's gone, I'll be the next Mrs. Stewart."

In the past, I would have advised her to stop dreaming. This time, I congratulated her instead.

"Wow, congratulations! When that happens, can you get me a job at Stewart Corp?"
