Together for a While, Apart for a Lifetime

After I found out someone had been in my room, I called my fiancé immediately, “Rocky, I feel like someone has been to my room. Can you come and take a look?”

My fiancé rebuked coldly, “It's ridiculous that you can’t even tell a decent lie.”

I begged him, “I'm not lying. Please, I'm going to die.”

He sneered, “Then go and die.”

Immediately afterwards, Leila Jefferson's scream was heard from the other end of the phone, “Rocky, there are mosquitoes biting me, come and take a look."

The phone call was hung up. 

The next second, there was a very slight sound coming from under the bed. My heart skipped a beat and I quickly got out of bed, rushed to the door.

I had not even taken two steps yet when a huge force pulled my hair. Then there was a sharp dull pain in the back of my head and I lost consciousness.

It turned out that the person had been under my bed all the time and had never left.

When I woke up again, I was naked and tied to a stool. My body was covered with bruises.

The kidnappers had long since disappeared.

I did not even know how long it had been, but I woke up suddenly with a sharp pain in my wrist, blood was gushing out of it.

This man really wanted me to bleed to death. 

But fortunately, Rocky and Leila were right next door. If only they came over, I would be saved.

I yelled at the top of my lungs and banged my stool against the wall to make a noise, “Rocky, Rocky, save me!”

The hotel's soundproofing was not very good, so I interrupted their laughter.

Leila screamed, “Ah! Deanne, what are you doing? You scared me to death! 

Do you think I'm making a fuss?" Her voice got smaller and quieter. “I'm sorry for disturbing you, Deanne. Rocky, I'm leaving now.”

Rocky kicked the door hard and snapped, “Deanne, have you had enough of making trouble? Shut up!

“Don’t you know that Leila can’t be frightened? Don’t you know that she will have nightmares?

“How can you be so vicious? I'm warning you, if you bully Leila again, I will immediately withdraw my investment in your family.”

The heat slowly drained from my body and I could not stop shivering.

I leaned against the wall and begged Rocky, “Rocky, I was wrong, I was really wrong. Please, come and take a look, okay? Please.

“If you don’t come, I will really die.”

His voice was light and airy as he questioned, “Do you think your life is important? If you want to die, die quickly! Otherwise, you will upset others.”

“Okay, Rocky, don’t be angry. I want to sleep, please coax me to sleep," Leila interrupted. 

Rocky nodded in agreement. “Let's go, baby."

The two voices faded away.

“Don’t go! Don’t go, please.”

I banged my head against the wall until I had no more strength left.

I did not know how long it took, but I was so cold that I lost consciousness.

I did not even know how many times I fainted during the process.

Was I going to die?

It was ridiculous that my honeymoon with Rocky became the last stop of my life.

I was drowsy as I heard the voice of my childhood sweetheart outside, “Leila, Rocky, I brought back some barbecue.”

I suddenly became alert and screaming with a hoarse voice, “Milford, Milford! Save me, please save me quickly.”

Milford Gilbert walked to my door and kicked it.

“Deanne, what’s the matter? It's just a barbecue. If you want to eat it, just tell me.

“But I only bought three servings. If you want to eat, go buy it yourself.”

It seemed that he was about to leave again, so I quickly called him, “Milford, I'm not. I don’t eat barbecue. Please call an ambulance for me. I'm really dying.”
